when the summer is over!

With all the rain we've had in the last couple of weeks, the grass is looking better than it did all summer, well, maybe not those big DEAD patches, but all around them it looks good! :o :)

Fall is the perfect time to rejuvenate a lacklustre lawn, and the link below provides yards of info on how to do just that! :)

Thanks Snowwark my lawn had come back quite green after the long drought, but after putting winter fertilizer w/weed kill on it last week. I now have no lawn.

What to do with the bare spots, seeing it's over 50% of the yard? Maybe a gazebo with a patio, maybe more flower gardens, maybe more vegetable gardens, maybe a arbor, my list seems to be growing. Forget the lawn it's never been a favorite of mine, and I really dislike mowing, time wasted when I could be gardening. I think, I'll think about this in January when the snow is flying.

Big plans being made during the cold bleak days of January only to have the summer heat swivel them up, and burn them to a crisp just like the lawn.

Thanks for the info on lawns Snowark. I'm always hesitant to put anything down on my grass. Our backyard is the neighborhood playground and I worry about the kids getting chemicals on them. Has anyone used anything organic to fertilize lawns?

Thanks, Kim! That's a helpful article.....:D

I'll be putting out my Fall pre-emergence treatment soon. We also picked up a bag of fertilizer for the lawn.

Thanks amid! That is exactly what I was looking for.

It's a cool, foggy, misty day here ~ perfect NW fall weather. I'm anxious to get my fall bulbs in the ground. Haven't had time yet. Maybe this week...
