1 year anniversary, 8 days and too much food......June 2011...11/14 Last Day! [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hey all! sorry it took me a while to start, things got a bit crazy.

Day 0

So I had to work the day before so I packed up all the bags

"Anyone seen a bunny?"
and headed to work early that morning. Leaving DH home sound asleep and having to pack up our kitty for her sleep over at "grandma's" (my mom).

So after work I headed to the train to head to my mom's because she was nice enough to drive us to the airport for our crazy early flight, 6:00 am! So..I get a call from DH while i'm on the train to tell me that he forgot his contacts at the apartment! :eek:so....this means that we have to go back to the apartment before the airport to get them......blah.

So 2:30am we are up and out ready to go. I slept about 2 hours...haha. So quick stop at the apartment contacts in hand and we are headed for the airport! Check in was super quick and easy...I would hope so being that it was like 4:30am..We headed and got some snacks to keep us going and waited for our plane.

So I am awful at taking photos on the plane so....I'm sorry. It was super uneventful.....I slept for like the whole ride and DH read "Behind the Magic". Before we knew it we heard music to our ears....we were landing!

Then we followed the castles!

Because it was like 8:00am in the morning they put everyone on one bus. so we all headed on...to a Meers bus dressed up with Expedition Everest pictures (I guess its better than the yellow one...) and I got super excited.

Soon enough we were seeing that beautiful sign.....which btw I could not get a picture of because we were way in the back! We stopped first at Pop then we were home at the Boardwalk!

We were greeted by a cast member and brought to check in! This really impressed us. There was no line at all so we got a choice of like 5 cm who all were like "Pick me!"

We checked in quickly, were given Anniversary pins! and told the magical words "Your room is ready!" We were very shocked and delighted. We grabbed our packet, bought our hopper tickets and then headed to find our room!

I really liked our room it was nice a spacious! I thought the color scheme was cute and welcoming.

Hi! Just wanted to say that I'll be following along :goodvibes I read your dining report from your last trip a long time ago. (I knew you guys looked familiar when I opened your thread. Clicked on the dining report link and yep!, I'd read it :laughing:) I'm pretty sure I never commented though so I wanted to get in on this one!

I love seeing all of the different resorts in TR. I would love to stay at an Epcot resort one day. DH is hooked on the Contemporary though for now. I love it too but I would like to try something different. Maybe one day I can talk him into somewhere else.

Can't wait to hear about your whole trip!

Great pictures! So this was a BCV studio garden view, right? Just curious...are you DVC owners or did you just want a studio instead of a regular room?....just being nosey:laughing:...another question...do all rooms have balconies? I'm so not familar with the Boardwalk area...we are usually MK resort people...have 3 kids that :lovestruc MK and that's where they always want to stay. One day we will venture out;)

I see that y'all are going on a cruise!:woohoo: Us, too....we can hardly wait! Which boat are you cruising on?

Hey thanks! Yeah I believe it was a garden view. We actually rented the points from another diser. We got a studio because...it was cheaper :laughing: All the rooms that aren't on the first floor have balconies, the first floor has like a deck. We had a hard time not staying at a MK resort....we love it very much but we wanted a change from our honeymoon so we choose BWV. It was nice because we could walk to Epcot and HS.

Yep! we are super excited. We are on the June 10th sailing of the Magic first Canada sailing!

Welcome! thanks for reading our dining review! I might be doing one for this as well....just all in one (haven't decided......have to decide soon! haha)

You should def try a different area resort...it was a nice change...though...I don't think I'll convince DH to do it again he loves being right near the MK.

You really should! We rented DVC points and saved so much money. It wasn't much more than if we stayed at a value!

sorry for the delay! Where was I?

Day 1 part 2

So after poking around our room for a while we were itching to get out. We had been in contact with a fellow diser that we had met on our honeymoon, weedee, because we really wanted to meet up with them before they flew back home. So we made plans to meet up with them at DTD in an hour....so we first dashed over to Epcot to get fastpasses for later.

We got to International gateway! Which was our first time there. I loved how quickly we could get to Epcot! it was so awesome. So we headed through the gates. I could have screamed with happiness! 2 hours off a plane and we were in Epcot. World Showcase wasn't open yet so we walked slowly through, it really is nice to see it so empty.

I was excited because I really wanted to go early this year so we could catch the end of Flower and Garden....so at least I got to see them!

Then we saw a beautiful sight

We then headed over to get fastpasses for Mission Space....we quickly realized the wait was like 10 mins....so we decided to grab Test Track instead (which was like 45 by then). We really didn't want to leave Epcot without riding anything....so we headed to one of my faves and one we knew there would be no line.

Then we rushed back to our hotel to grab a bus and get down to DTD.

We met up and grabbed a sandwich from Earl. Which has unconsciously become our first day tradition.

I am very sorry and forgot to take pictures :eek: but we always get the same thing soooo...

DH got The Full Montagu - Freshly roasted beef, roast turkey, mustard sauce, Swiss/cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato

and I got Veggie - Feta Cheese, lettuce, roma tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, roasted red peppers and mediterranean dressing

Then we walked around and hit Days of Christmas. We wanted our traditional ornament four our anniversary.

We ended up getting some of these....DH took this picture before I noticed them! I will take a photo of our and post it soon.

We also grabbed a milk and cookies plate and cup for our nephew for Christmas this year.
We also hopped into trend-d....where I found a shirt from Disney Couture that I really wanted but I didn't like the price!

Then we decided to parted ways because we really wanted to get on some rides! So we said a sad goodbye and we headed to the buses. which took FOREVER. We has just missed a bus and watched two of every other bus go by before our came. So it took like and hour and twenty to get back which really bugged us.

We got back to Boardwalk and decided to change for our ADR that night before heading back to Epcot. We used our fastpasses for Test Track, which was fun. Then we headed over to Universe of Energy.

This was something on our to do list because we hadnt tried it yet. I liked it...I donno why people never go on it. I wouldn't go on it a million times but its fun at least once!

We then jumped on Mission Space Orange. I didn't like it the first time we went but this time I did! and DH decided he didn't. hahaha so only orange time for us.

By then it was time for us to head over to the Poly because we had an ADR at Ohana's!

Day 1 Part 3

So we headed inside to check in. There was a huge line for people waiting without ADRs, but we walked happily to the check in. We waited about 25 mins in the bar area and finally our buzzer went off! We were lead to a table on the right side of the fire. It was about 2 tables away from where we sat last time. We were seated and our waiter came by to say hi and see if we had been there before. We had eaten here on our Honeymoon so he didn't have to explain much.

Our ticket did not say that I was a vegetarian however which would become a pattern through the whole trip. I had filled out a dietary request form but....apparently it was attached to our ADRS in code and no one knew what it meant! :laughing:

So I asked to see a chef and we placed our drink order. I got a raspberry lemonade

and DH got a sprite...but I didn't take a photo because I figured it was boring haha.

We were also brought salad to go along with our welcome bread

So...this salad is one of my favorites ever. I love the dressing....which I found a recipe for but haven't made it yet. its soooo good. and so is the bread. But you want to watch and not eat too much because you'll never be able to eat all the food that is soon to come!

A chef then came by and talked to me. He asked me what I would like....which I guess is nice but kind of drives me nuts because I don't know what they have! So then he said he can make a stir fry...so I said that was fine. I was a little sad because last time I got tower of amazing veggies from TJ but I was willing to try something new!

sauces for the meats came by. the top left is peanut and bottom left is sweet and sour....and I think the other is spicy but I'm not sure what exactly it was.

This is what I was given as my appetizer. I'm not sure how they make simple hummus and pita chips taste so awesome....but they do. If I didn't know they would keep the food coming and coming I would have wanted more!!

This is what DH got and what everyone usually gets. Its wings and dumplings. DH loves these but just like me knows how much other food there are and its impossible for one person to eat all of these. Its the same amount a table of 4 would get!

Then a musician came out. He was the nicest and happiest man ever. He was playing a Ukulele and played a few songs while walking around the tables it was really nice. Then while he stared straight at me and DH's buttons and said "Anyone celebrating an Anniversary or Honeymoon please come up" About 6 other couple got up as well and we each put Leis on each other and then kissed. There was also a couple on their honeymoon....which I was hoping maybe was someone on the dis? anyone? That would have been cool if it was.

Then we were asked to slow dance and he played "Why do Fools fall in love?" It was really cute and made me super happy.

These I call the noodles of yumminess. I love them and remembered them from the last time we ate there. SO GOOD.

and then I became a bad disser and forgot to take a photo of DH's meat!!! oops.....I guess thats because I don't eat it....or I was too busy stuffing my face. He really liked the Pork, Chicken and Steak. He really didn't like the shrimp. I think its because they cook it with the shell.

This was dessert....bread pudding a la mode with Banana Foster sauce. I was too stuffed and DH ate it, its his favorite part of this meal.

Huge difference of this meal from late time we ate here. The food came out much slower. which gave us time to enjoy it. Last time we had a very late ADR and they literally threw the food at us without being able to eat anything. So we ended up with a table covered in food and it was very intimidating. This time we enjoyed every part. We love Ohana's (for both Breakfast and dinner) and this experience just confirmed our love. The food is so good and the servers are so nice here. This will def be a place we will go back to on our next trip. If you haven't tried it, its a must on our list!

So then we headed off to MK EMH (2am)

So I would say this move was the dumbest of our trip. DH had said right before we left he wasn't feel too well and we bought medicine with us. BUT we had been up for like 22 hours by this time...so MK EMH was a bad idea. You'll see why later in the report. Also I always want to go into MK refreshed and starting with the morning show. So us going here late at night for the first time this trip was breaking all my "rules".

We obviously went anyway. Entering the MK is always magical for me...but I really need to go first in the morning....I donno why but it just makes a difference. SO it was very weird and not the same to go and night. I didnt get the same experience (like I did when we came back for the morning)

We first went to check out how long Space mountain and Buzz were...which was about 60 mins and 45 mins. So we figured we'd come back when people started leaving after the parade and fireworks. (wrong...so wrong)
We walked around and checked out the Tangled meet and greet

Which I looooved. I think it looks great. I wish the lines weren't always nuts.

While we were there we accidentally caught some of "Magic memories and you" DH took some pictures but I wanted to wait til we saw the whole thing from start to finish so we only watched a little

We then headed over because I needed to get on Haunted Mansion which is my favorite ride in MK.

We then walked straight on Pirates and Big Thunder. Which was great! While we were on the line for Big Thunder Wishes started going off....which always gets me choked up. (anyone else?) its my favorite. But we had a date with wishes the next night so we just sung along as we waited on line.

We kept on walking and jumped on Jungle Cruise which I love in the dark so its a big must on my list. Then because Dumbo's line was crazy we went on Aladdin! I like this ride...DH thinks its silly, but oh well. DH also "accidentally" flew me straight into the camel spray!

We caught the end of the Electrical Parade...but again I really love this and wanted to see the whole thing. (see this is why we should have waited!!)

By then it was getting very late and we were on 24+ hours and running so we checked to see if we could get on space....still an hour long!

So our last ride of the night was Winnie the Pooh....I really wanted to check out the new line and beat the crowds during the day. it was about a 10 min wait. We really enjoyed the new line! Its so cute and fun. Like always the ride was fun too! After the ride we dragged our tired butts onto the bus and headed to BW to pass out!

Ohana is one of my favorites. Although on our past trip the service was really shady...I almost felt sorry for the waitress, she was that bad. But...the food was great and of course the bread pudding was outstanding!!! That's probably on my top 5 list of 'must-have' desserts at WDW! In fact, we ordered 2 dishes of the dessert...needless to say we were stuffed!:laughing: We will probably go back on our next trip...for the dessert of course;)

Okay...not really sure what the picture is that you posted:confused3 I'm curious!!!! I'll be waiting for more!:surfweb:

Oh I'm sorry you had a bad waitress last time! It always sucks to have an otherwise great meal but a bad waitress or waiter. I never can get through the dessert at the end. I usually have a few bites and then I'm done.

You'll have to wait and see! I'll hopefully be posting the next day after work tonight.

that was a busy day but fun! we are going to ohanas for the 1st time this december. Im trying not to get too excited becasue i have heard from some that it was not good but everyone has different taste and i hope mine is the liking one

Oh! Your going to love it. This is our second time and I also have had a bunch of other dis friends go and they all feel the same! I hope you really enjoy your meal. You should also try breakfast if you have a chance.

Day 2

So our first full day always has to be MK. Its a tradition and makes me super happy. Oh yeah and today was our actual anniversary day! So we had a fun full day planned.

The opening show is one of my favorites...so we had to make it to rope drop! we were an hour early and grabbed our ideal spots! (center, right up front)

Anyone else love this show? It makes me a little teary eyed. It always marks the beginning of our vacation.

Then we hurried through the gates with everyone else and we rushed down the right side of main street. And saw a beautiful sight.

We didn't have much time because we had a 9:30 ADR. So we grabbed Space Mountain Fastpasses and then rushed over to buzz to see what the wait was.
On the way there we ran into one of DH's favorite characters. He was jumping in puddles and making a scene! We were the first to get a picture.

Then we walked towards the castle

and checked in at our ADR for CRT! We had dinner there on our honeymoon and this time we were trying breakfast.

We waited only a small amount of time and then were lead upstairs to the exact same table we had on our honeymoon! We thought that was crazy

DH was clearly excited.

Our Waitress was super nice and very excited that we were celebrating our anniversary. She took our drink orders and when she came back with them we were given a wand and sword! I love that they give these out.

I got coffee (naturally) and DH got OJ. We were also brought out assorted pastries

We were give 3 choices of meals. Granola, Fruit and yogurt. Stuffed french toast with berry jam. and potatoes, eggs and sausage.

DH order the potatoes, eggs and sausage and I ordered the same without meat.

They did the wish upon a star ceremony about then. Which is super cute if you haven't seen it.

Our food came super quick! and I was given THIS

I guess they felt bad about what I ordered so they gave me a little of everything! It was sooooo yummy. I don't think I could have had a whole plate of the french toast but it was nice to have a little taste. They also gave me french toast sticks from the kids menu! I was happily surprised at how good the food was (i've heard EH reviews)

DH's plate....well I was still being a bad diser and forgot to take a photo (yup...this will be the last time tho!) So just imagine my eggs, potatoes and some meat! haha!

So our verdict...the food and service is really good here! I liked breakfast more then I did dinner. Its a great way to start the day! This is def worth a try once, even if your not big on character breakfasts.

Then we headed over around the castle. We found the well nice and empty! so we stopped to take photos.

By this time we could get another fastpass so we headed back up mainstreet to make a date with some mice.

We grabbed our fastpasses and were told we could still get another! Which made us super happy. Before heading over to tomorrowland I stopped in to the hat shop and got a pair of sparkly ears! I loved my bride ears last year and didn't wear them nearly enough...so this time I wanted anniversary ears!

We then went back to tomorrowland, grabbed buzz fastpasses.

We then went to space! I just love this ride! I really like the new sound effects that they added. It def makes it seem faster. We had to wait for our buzz fastpass so we headed over to Fantasyland to see what was going on there. While I was there I found ANOTHER of my must meet characters

Thanks! We use mainly a Nikon D80 but some of the photos are taken with a Canon SD1200IS.

You really should try it! You have to book 180 days if you want breakfast but its worth it! Yeah...well stay tuned...unfortunately that's what did happen.

Day 2 Part 2

So we soon realized we could head over to the Theater to meet our favorite characters! Mickey and Minnie.
So we walked back down main street and through the beautifully redone theater. We zipped past the 45 min wait and only waited about 5 mins before being lead through the main doors.

The standby was about 45 mins so we decided to pass on it for now and instead took a stroll around through Adventureland and back up towards Fantasyland.

We decided we also wanted to get fastpasses for space mountain again (did I mention this is one of our favorites) so we walked through Fantasyland towards Tomorrowland.

On the way there we found my TOP character on my list. (today I found pretty much everyone! I was so excited) See on our honeymoon I had a must see list and we were so busy we barely touched it. So we happily got on line to meet....

This is such a nice ride to take a break.

So after our quiet ride we headed back over to Frontierland. One of our goals of the trip was to do everything we hadn't done before. So Tom Sawyer Island was our goal.

It was def fun and cool to do something we had never done before. We went in all the caves which I thought were the best part. It was very hot though and being on the island didn't help.

So we had an early ADR because we wanted to enjoy all the nighttime fun! So we used our Big Thunder Mountain fastpasses before heading out.

Finally....I'm all caught up! We love CRT, too. We've done breakfast and lunch and like both equally...never done dinner, and probably won't. I'm not sure that the princesses are at dinner, right?

Sorry for the delay! Still looking for a new job! Went on a few interviews this week so everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!

End of Day 2!

Okay so first thing we did was grab our backpack from the locker so we could change for our dinner. Then we got the boat over to the Grand Floridian. So I really wanted to walk around but DH wasn't feel very good....so we changed and went to check into Citricos. We only waited about 5 mins before our name was called. We were seated at a nice table by the window! It was early so the restaurant was very quiet, it was so nice.

We were given special anniversary menus!

We didn't want to drink too much on this trip....because we are seriously 80 year olds and fall asleep when we drink too much. hahahaha

So the funny thing with this drink was that it was the first day they had it on the menu and the poor bartender tried 8x to get it right! and then when this one came I was so happy I just started drinking....and about 10 mins later the waiter came by and said "Did you notice anything wrong with your drink?" After trying to get the flavor right he forgot the alcohol! hahaha So I ended up with two! They put so much alcohol in the second one that it would have been enough for both. :laughing:

The chef came by to talk to me and was more than happy to make me whatever I wanted. He said he would make me a mix for my meal and then I could just take the meat out of the appetizer.

I got a carrot cream soup. It was amazing. I love soup and I'm so excited when I find a really good vegetarian one.

This was my sampler. It was mostly different types of potatoes and veggies but it was so so good. I am a big fan of the mixed combo meals.

DH got Berkshire Pork Two Ways - Rotisserie pork tenderloin and braised Berkshire pork belly with Sweet potato Gratin, swiss chard and an orange blossom mustar drizzle. DH really enjoyed this. He devoured it. haha

So just to prove that DH wasn't feel well he got sorbet for dessert.

Um....if you have never had this you should go eat here just for this! It amazing.....seriously.

We very much enjoyed our meal this is one of our favorite restaurants. It was a perfect choice for our anniversary dinner.

Although it was such a nice meal....DH was feeling sicker and sicker. So after our meal he decided to go back to the room...but I was at Disney! I couldn't just go back. so I headed back to MK all by myself.

I went first to Big Thunder to grab a fastpass then I headed to space mountain because I had 2 fastpasses now that DH had left so I jumped straight on! LOVE.

Afterwards I went on one of my favorites.....Carousel of Progress. Which makes me super happy. Its very weird to see it alone though haha.

I love both of these shows. they make me super happy. Especially Wishes. :lovestruc So before I left I used my last fastpass on Space. Then walked through the shops. I purchased a cute Eyeore stuffed animal and then a balloon.

Day 3 Part 1

So the next morning we got up at around 7am because we had an ADR that I was very excited for! DH was still feeling sick but after a long sleep he felt a little better.

So we headed down to the boardwalk for our ADR at Kouzzina! I was looking forward to eating hear since we started planning. I LOVE breakfast.

We checked in to an almost empty restaurant and this was the first and only restaurant that knew I was a vegetarian! Which I thought was weird. haha. We were seated pretty much immediately and met our waiter. Who was one of the nicest of the trip! You could tell he really loved his job and loved food.

I ordered a coffee and DH got an OJ.

When it was time to order our waiter came by and mentioned my dietary request. He said they could make anything I wanted and asked if I was leaning towards another particular. I was thinking about the Spinach, Tomato, and Feta Scrambled Eggs which he highly recommended so I went with that. He also said he could a special batch of sweet potato hashbrown that were safe for me.

UM.....amazing? Seriously....I crave this....too bad its so far away from where I live.

Over all this was a great way to start our day. The food and atmosphere are really great. It was much quieter then a lot of the other restaurants that serve breakfast. I would very much like to go back to try dinner sometime!

I love how close Epcot is! We really never got over how awesome this was. Also the lines were never long! It was so great.

Me and DH agree. This is a hidden gem. If you have never tried it you really should. So basically you build your ride using this cool touch screen and tools. Then you get to ride it. Try it. Its in Innoventions West.

So after our shopping spree....it was time for world showcase to open!

We decided to start at Canada because on our honeymoon we started with Mexico.

This is a very fun and silly film....Which I'm glad we saw it finally because we have plans to go to Toronto soon and then our first Cruise goes to Canada! So it was appropriate to see the film.

Then we kind of skooted through because we had a Kim Possible Fastpass.

So we had wanted to play Kim Possible since our honeymoon and never found a chance. We loved it! So much fun. Its def not just for kids. We really enjoyed it. We did our first adventure in Norway because that was where our fastpass was for so we stuck with it. Try it if you haven't yet.

So.....it was around 2pm when we finished our adventure..and DH's sickness caught up with him. So we walked back to the resort.

I got a orange zest cupcake. DH got a oreo cupcake...but fell asleep before he ate his and I didn't get a photo! I sat on our balcony and ate mine.

Then because DH didn't look like he was going to get up anytime soon. so I went down to the quiet pool for a swim and then took a nap in the sun. This was really nice because I never get to do that at home. After I woke up I headed back to see how DH was doing.

We got dressed for dinner and headed back to Epcot. We wandered around and took some photos.

Day 3 Part 3

So our dinner ADR for that night was Le Cellier! We were so excited for this meal! I have heard so many good things and I was worried we wouldn't get an ADR....but we had no problem.

We checked in at the entrance and then walked down the garden.

We were seated in the Saskatewan section. I really liked that they had different names for each section.

DH was def being a trooper! I don't think he was feeling much better.

Our server came by and was super nice and knowledgeable. She was also very laid back and gave us plenty of time to talk and enjoy ourselves.

I love Cider so I jump at the chance to try new ones! This was very good. Very different from the English, Irish or American versions.

see those pretzel ones? They were amazing. In fact all over the restaurant you could see servers bringing extra pretzel bread. (we asked for some too!)

This was a maple butter...though truthfully the bread was so good....it didn't need anything.

So for our app I really wanted to try the famous cheddar cheese soup...but I was sad to find out that the bacon is not only on top but its cooked in. :sad2:

Okay so...I don't actually think this is what I ended up with (you can see that the description doesn't match the photo) It was a Quiche of some sort. but it didn't have many veggies in it and def no Goat Cheese or Roasted peppers. So I'm not sure why I got something different. It was okay. Kind of bland.

DH got Grilled Bone in Rib Eye - 16 oz. bone in Rib Eye with Herb Parmesan Potato wedges and pink peppercorn sauce

Well...first off DH says this wasn't a Rib Eye.....and second he really didn't like the sauce. but without it....it was really dry. So for a steak house DH was not impressed. This was a disappointment.

one of these had nuts so he got two of the other! DH is easy....so of course he loved this!

So....I thought the food was good..the apps and desserts were the best part. Not sure what happened with the entrees. Whoever makes Apps and desserts should take over for the person who makes the entrees.

I wanted to see this so badly and it did not disappoint. We loved it! We even both got T-shirts after. DH with the classic logo (same as above) and me the T-shirt Michael Jackson wears in the movie.

I was also tempted to get a stuffed animal of Hooter....but I controlled myself.

We also did Turtle Talk...which I really was excited to see because DH always makes me skip it. I thought it was really cute and I liked it better then Laugh Floor.

We now always do Green because DH isn't big on the Orange. I still think its fun. We did however stay in the video room for 20 mins until they told us there was something wrong and we were moved. DH was afraid that they would accidentally put us on orange. Which didn't happen.

Thanks! Aww thats so nice of you. You should def try Le Cellier we booked 180 days in advance to get the ADR. I think thats the key.

Yay! Loving your TR so far girl! Sorry to hear you were disappointed about the food at Le Cellier. We have actually never gone and probably never will. I mean being we live in NYC and Peter Luger's is 15 mins from our house along with all the other great steakhouses here, Tom thinks it's would be a waste of time and money(I think it's 2 dinner credits right?). Lately, I hear nothing but bad things about it and about on par with Outback (which Tom also won't go to:rotfl:) Tell Luke if he wants a real steak to go to Peter Lugers (if he has never been) and it's right in Brooklyn(I'm sure they have something yummy for you too:goodvibes). Anyway, I am loving your pictures! Duffy is so adorable. Can't wait to see more!

Day 4 Part 1

So like most mornings on the trip we were up early in the morning! Maybe it was just luck...or maybe it was because we were going to Animal Kingdom but...DH was feeling better this morning! We strolled a little on our way to the buses...

We wanted to get to AK for rope drop but we were a little late and missed the show. Oh well...we followed the crowd going right because we had a mountain to conquer!

so we grabbed some fastpasses...does anyone else notice that people are always clueless when getting these fastpasses? and leave machines totally open? not sure why but we took advantage.

Then we hopped on the standby line because it said 10 mins. it was like 0! Great way to start the morning! Love this ride. Its one of DH's favorites too.

So afterward we didn't really have too much time until our ADR so we just enjoyed looking around on our way. We stopped to take a photo with these guys

so.....it was really dark where they were shooting the photos so I put a flash on....and this is what we got! awful. but then when we got photopass back...it was just as bad?! :scared1: they should rethink this location

So we kept walking....and then I spotted someone and shrieked with delight.

"Terk!" She came right over and gave me a big hug before going on her way to her photospot. This totally made my morning. I love Tarzan and I was excited she stopped instead of just the normal wave. :)

After my exciting moment we went into a nearby shop to have a peak. It is so nice how quiet it is walking around because everyone is on rides. No one was in the shop and I spotted a t-shirt I needed and decided to get later.

Soon enough it was time for our ADR...

We had eaten here on our honeymoon and DH choose it has our must do for this trip. As DH hates breakfast I wanted to go with his choice!

So..you may notice what T-shirt DH is wearing...he realized this was a bad idea a little too late. Donald was NOT happy...but he cheered right up when I told him not to worry that HE was my favorite! Also...you may know that Donald's Birthday is June 9th...and I wasn't sure if we would find him the next day so I made sure to tell him happy early birthday! He was very excited and made a big deal out of my knowing. Love that duck.

We were seated in a totally different section then last time. in the right room of the hall in a small room that only had a few tables! it was a tad strange but we could watch everyone else being silly and see when characters were on their way.

When we sat down we were told we had some time before characters so go get some food.

starting at the bottom: Sweet Potatoes, White Rice, Mickey Waffles! (have to get these!) Biscuit, Pineapple bread (amazing) eggs and corn bread.
I over did it with bread haha. The waffles were so fresh and crispy! its so sad when you get old ones. I really love the sweet potatoes and pineapple bread.

Seriously. I have issues with buffets..I need some to follow me around and give me tiny portions and stop me. I always take way too much of everything and then feel sick.

So...Tusker house did not disappoint. the food is really good as far as Breakfast buffets go at Disney. one of the best character breakfast food as well (second to CRT)

So after our great breakfast we headed back to Everest but not before grabbing fastpasses to the Kilimanjaro Safari for later. It was already for 2:30pm to 3:30pm and it was only 10:30am!

We used out fastpasses for Dinosaur and then jumped on Everest one more time before heading over to Flights of Wonder. Which DH really wanted to see. DH held our spot and I went to get us some ice cream.

We grabbed the AKL bus and made it to the Lodge with plenty of time to walk around. We love this resort and really want to stay there but we have issues with how far away it is from everything else.

We then headed down to Boma for our ADR. We had heard so much about this restaurant and really wanted to try it for ourselves.
We were seated in a quieter area away from children which was nice and then we headed up to get our plates.

Carrot Ginger soup. This was amazing. I could eat this everyday. I had two big bowls!

The vegetarian choices were really great. My favorite was the top left was a chipotle pasta. it was so good.

The food was really so so good. I can't say it enough. I have realized I don't really like the idea of buffets just because...there is just too much choice and too much food.

Dessert....well mine I forgot to take DH's plate! :eek: but I was way too full. sad. I liked the coffee one the best.

We left very happy and full. We really liked Boma and the food was so nice and fresh. We did have an issue later because DH got food poisoning or allergic reaction to the Red tomato sauce they had (you can see it on his plate) He ate a lot of it because he really liked it and it did not go well. So unfortunately while we really loved Boma I doubt we'd go back.

Day 5
So because DH got food poisoning the night before we were up most of the night we ended up sleeping in and skipping our ADR at Captain's Grill. We also were thrown off for the whole day because of the late start and we didn't take as many photos! :scared1: We got up around 9:30 and headed over to Hollywood studios. I was very excited because my favorite ride is here! (TOT)

So we got into the park and went straight over to Star Tours to grab fast passes!

Then we walked around a little bit just enjoying the studios. We went to hang out with the Muppets! Which i'm obsessed with....I love this movie.

Then we headed into One Man's Dream. I really like how quiet it is how there isn't anyone rushing you.

Then we stayed and watched the movie. we had never seen it....I think we were in a rush last time? :confused3

By this time our fast passes were ready so we quickly headed over to get TOT passes before rushing over to Star Tours. We were very excited!

Our first sequence was, Darth Vader, Kashyyyk, Army of Republics

I really liked it the first time. I thought it was fun....(tho I miss the old one) DH was not yet convinced.

We then made our way towards Toy Story and hung around until we could get our passes.

With happiness in hand we were off again!
We headed over to Tower and rode it twice! Love it so much....can't even tell you. I'm so happy they didn't do that summer nightastic crap again....because they messed with the sequences! I like the random sequence and it really upset me that it wasn't there for our honeymoon. But it was back and I was happy!!!

Then we decided to do the single rider line on Aerosmith. We had never done this before but they fastpasses were for 8-9 and we weren't going to make that! It took much longer then we thought it would and we were waiting for at least 45 mins. We actually ended up in the same car only a couple of rows back! So that was nice.

Then we might have gone and saw muppets again! heheh

As we were walking around deciding what to do next...we walked right by Animation and I dragged DH in. I really loved doing the drawing class. DH did not because he doesn't draw so I went and waited while DH walked around and took photos

In the class we got a really fun CM. He wanted to make sure that no one drew the same thing twice. So he started naming characters to see who we hadn't drawn. So it ended up as Jiminy Cricket, Buzz and Stitch. Then we all voted. I really wanted Jiminy....he is one of my favorites! but I was out voted. So Buzz it was! Here's the end result.

I'm glad you guys were able to have a decent start to the day in spite of the food poisoning :( I love the photos, especially One Man's Dream. I really loved this attraction also. I didn't get to spend as much time there as I wanted so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Yeah its really nice and a good break from crowds. We usually do it every other trip.

Thanks hun! Yep. we are in NYC. so we are staying and seeing what happens! I'm sure we'll be fine in our nice sturdy apartment building but I am more worried for Long Island where my family is. Thanks for thinking of us.

So at 3:30 we had a "dinner" ADR at Hollywood & Vine for our Fantasmic package! We missed Fantasmic on our honeymoon because we got there 2 hours early and the line was already insane. so we were making a point of catching it this time!

We checked in and sat on the little patio and waited and soon enough we were called. We were seated near the entrance and our waitress buzzed by saying something about just a minute. This waitress was probably one of the worst waitresses I've ever had at any restaurant. She was definitely not all there or not caring..i'm not sure which. but she kept getting yelled at by other staff members.

My first plate. SO the best things here were the mash and green beans. They were so so good. everything else was good too but those were my favorite.

I was way more into the potatoes then dessert. I only had the mousse but it was yummy mousse so thats okay.

So the food was good...the service. was terrible. We never were given refills for our drinks....and I didn't save mine because Disney is usually really good at refills. So yeah....I doubt we will go again. I'd rather use my credit and go to a real sit down.

We were herded off around Beauty and the Beast and through backstage until we got into the evil queen section on the very right. We got pretty good seats because we were only 2 people but I think if you had more you really should get there earlier. We went about an hour early and already it was very full.

Day 6 Part One

So The next morning we were up bright and early to head back to HS for Star Wars weekend! We went during our honeymoon and loved it. We are huge Star Wars fans.

While DH was getting ready I went down by the pool. I loved the theming and really wanted to get some photos of it when there was no one around.

First up we headed over to Star Tours to grab fastpasses. Then we went over to the Star Wars shop because I had my heart set on meeting a certain Droid.

The crowd was really small and there were about 5 people online for the meet and greet. We were told he would be arriving shortly! Soon enough we heard the amazingness that is R2D2.

I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure of the sequence we got here but we went to Kashyyyk again.

Afterward we decided to see what the wait was like for Great movie ride. I forgot to mention on Day 5 post that we rode Great movie ride and had a terrible CM. She was just such a bad actress. So we needed to ride it again to make up for it!

It was actually a little busy because of Star Wars weekend. and I'm so glad we rode it because we hit the rare jackpot!

Western scene instead of Gangster! I was shocked when we went straight through the Gangster scene without the switch. I have wanted to see this for a long time! I was very happy.

Our waitress was super nice and accommodating without being bothersome. I love how relaxed Sci Fi is. I never feel rushed.

We were there for Star Wars Weekend too :) It was a great time in spite of being so crowded. Your meal at Sci Fi Dine In looks great. I made a reservation there for our October trip but I hear they're getting rid of the tofu dish :(

I read your reply on my phone and forgot to reply! oops! :eek:

Its really is a good time. We always go on Friday because its just a little quieter. I'm so so sad to hear about the Tofu dish! its so good. I hope they replace it with something good...and not full of mushrooms :headache:

I hope you have a good meal there in October!

Day 6 Part 2

So one of my goals for Star Wars weekend was to get a photo with Jedi Mickey but when we got over to the line he was already there!

As always it was amazing.

So we really wanted to find the "To serve Men" book which we found out was somewhere hidden in the tv room before you enter the main queue. We were very excited to finally see it! I am a big Twilight Zone nerd so this totally made my day. Sadly it was too dark to grab a photo.

So after our terrifying drop....we left Hollywood Studios. Which was sad because it would be our last day there :sad2:

We grabbed the boat back to the boardwalk to freshen up, we also really needed to pick up some of our packages from the gift shop. It closes way before we got back each night.

Then we walked over to Epcot. We had already rode the main rides we wanted so we decided to do the other fun stuff...for us this included lots of Kim Possible and meeting a fuzzy bear.

Our ADR was at 8:30 and I didn't even think about Illuminations...but we were seated right next to the window! Which really made me happy.

Our Waitress was okay she came by, barely said hello and asked what we wanted to drink.

This was very good....but really? does an app have to be this big? I was shocked. I haven't order a Flatbread for my app in other Disney Restaurants but DH has and it was half the size. so this was a surprise.

Wow was this good! I really enjoyed it...but again with the flatbread I just couldn't eat it all! yum.

DH really enjoyed this. We thought it was funny how bad the steak was at a steakhouse but how good it was in France....oh well.

This was very good and a nice finish...seriously there is too much food here!

I really liked the atmosphere and the food but...this was the first time where I felt that maybe it was too late for our ADR. The restaurant was about half full....but the CM clearly wanted to get out of there and were all huddled in a corner chatting for most of the night. so it gave you a weird feeling of you should eat quickly. so I donno if it was just the night but this put me off. Also top reason we came here was to see Remi (we are children) but he doesn't come out after like 6! we were so sad. They should really make that known....we would have come for lunch if this was known. So heads up if you are going or taking your kids!

We had a nice quiet Epcot after we left.

As we were pulling up we saw that the Electrical Water Parade was about to start but just as our monorail was pulling in it broke down and they couldn't get the doors open! We finally had to jump over seats to get out (a CM told us too!) and ran to catch the rest of the parade.

Tonight was extra magic hours til 3am! so we were all over that!
Our first stop was Adventureland

We went on Pirates first and then tried to see how Jungle Cruise was. We wanted to get the "Adult" version of the ride but this time we had some kids so we decided to head back later to see if there were less kids.

We jumped on Big Thunder and then headed around to Haunted Mansion and then finally Dumbo!

and then jumped on Its a Small World.

We then made our way to Splash and finally back to Jungle Cruise for one last try! We thought we had it until a child got on at the last second...We were very disappointed. Anyone been on a cruise that did the "Adult" speech?

So by then it was 2:40 and we wanted to try and get on Space...but when we arrived it was closed!!! Shocked. But a CM told us that even if they get it back up at 2:59 they will still let people on...so she recommended we hang.

We have heard rumors that if you go on the Jungle Cruise during EMH and there are no children on your boat some CM will do an adult version of their usual speech. We weren't positive what it would be like but we thought we would try and see if we got it.

Yay for an update! I was just thinking about you guys when I logged on the other day. You've helped me decide that Deluxe dining is way too much food, and I will never do it! :rotfl: Did you and DH feel that having so many sit down meals took too much park and relaxation time away from you?

haha....yeah it really it. but its good if you want to eat at a lot of signature restaurants. Which is why we did it this trip. We mainly only had breakfast and dinner sit down meals...so no I really didn't feel that. it was a nice start to the morning and a relaxing finish. We were big fans of early morning breakfast and late night dinners (8:30 or later) that way we have plenty of time for fun! I hope that helps.

Day 7 Part 1

I expected Magic Kingdom to be really crazy because it was a saturday....but the buses for MK took a while to show up...not sure why.

The line took forever. I love this ride and we always go on it....but I hate how long it takes.

it was probably one of the best meets i've had. They spent a long time talking to me and trying to get to know me. and at one point I turned around and Prince Naveen was like "Tiana! She has Oswald with her!!!" Which made them freak out and beg me where I bought him....unfortunately he was only on sale in NY in February....and I've never seen him again.

Both were good but I really liked the salad...probably because we got the buttermilk dressing.yum

When we went to order our entrees I ordered the Veggie pot pie...which the waiter stopped me and said...do you actually want that or are you just ordering it because its the only thing on the menu for you? which was my reason. He told me it wasn't very good...and offered to make me whatever I wanted!

I really wanted a sandwich so I got the Tri-Corner Sandwich - roast beef and swiss cheese with Liberty Slaw, horseradish cream sauce and arugula served on herbed focaccia with fresh fruit or tavern fries without meat, provolone cheese and with mash instead!

It came out and it was made exactly how it is on the menu. Our waiter stormed off in a huff after finding out and I had a new sandwich quickly after! He really took care of us! This sandwich was really good! It totally hit the spot and was exactly what i wanted.

omg. this was awesome. Every bit of it. I loved the butterscotch ice cream. it was so different and the tart was perfect and crumbly. yummy

DH clearly decided to give up on being good and not getting a crazy dessert and ordered Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce

This was another lick the bowl type of desserts. he devoured it!

So our Liberty Tree Tavern experience gets a big :thumbsup2 we really enjoyed the food and service. I think this is definitely a must try! I didn't have high hopes for this one but I should have! Now the dinner seems like a pre fix meal...so I would not be okay with this. So i'm all about the lunch. even though for me its really hard to be in MK and be eating for an hour! I would rather sit on Haunted Mansion and have my meal...just going around and around. hahaha.

Thanks! Yeah I was very happily surprised by that..not all of the restaurants are as accommodating. it also depends on who your waiter is.

After our wild ride we headed to the front to get to our ADR. We were headed over to our Honeymoon resort, WL and we were very excited.

Soon enough it was time for our ADR! Artist Point is my favorite restaurant on property so I was very happy.

We were seated quickly, at a great table near the window. Our Waitress came over and was super nice and accommodating. I asked if I could speak to the chef about my dietary needs and she went off to get him.

So...when we were here on our honeymoon...I wanted a Mickey straw...and DH was like No this is a fancy restaurant we can't do that. and I spent the whole trip looking for one. So this time I was like Can i ask for a mickey straw? and he said no behave....and when my drink came look what it had in it?!

So the Chef came over and asked what i would like to eat. I mentioned that I had an asparagus app on our honeymoon that I loved...but it was no longer off the menu. He immediately knew what I was talking about and recognized me from our honeymoon! he told us happy anniversary and that he would be happy to make the old app specially for me! I was so excited.

DH really wanted mussel on our honeymoon but they were sold out. So he finally got his mussels! Kettle-steamed Penn Cove Mussels - with Sourdough Panzanella

DH loves Mussels....and he really enjoyed these! perfect way to start a meal.

For our main DH got Pan seared Airline Chicken Breast - With house made citrus cracked pepper pasta, wild mushrooms, root spinach and white wine her nage

DH wasn't really into this dish. so it was a little disappointing.

and I got Gnocchi (they no longer serve it so I'm not sure of what was in it)

This was surprisingly disappointing. it just was very boring and didn't have much flavor :(

For dessert we were both not really hungry so we requested a bowl of the ice cream they serve with their desserts.

We still love Artist Point and it is still my favorite. They have gotten rid of the bad Gnocchi (maybe *** it was bad!) so I think our next meal there will be yummy.

We love this show! Its just so so good.

So just before wishes was about to start a father took his daughter and put him on his shoulders blocking everyone! including some children in wheelchairs. wow...i really wanted to freak out. so...there are no wishes photos because everyone had that little girls head in the way! On the bright side DH always takes photos so he has never really experienced wishes without a camera. so that was good.

So then we headed over to frontierland to get a nice quiet spot for the parade. We saw the parade here on our honeymoon and it was perfect. We found a nice seated spot on one of the platforms in front of the stores in frontierland. and I went to grab some dole whips

Where did you buy the Oswald toy? He's so cute - although I do think of him as the villain from Epic Mickey game now ;)

and - is there an easy way to explain how you take those photos where an object (eg Oswald) is in focus, but everything else is blurred? Love that effect :goodvibes

I got him in the Disney store in time square. I only saw him there once and never again. I guess he was special edition? though there wasn't a special edition number like the other we have bought. I still love him...he does redeem himself at the end of the game.

its simply spot focusing on him and not the background. you can do it with a point and shoot, you just focus on the close object and then while still holding the focus button down move to get the whole image(like to the left). the focus will stay on the close object. on dsl we just move the focus sensor to what we want to be in focus and the rest will not be. it also depends on aperture. the bigger the aperture the move depth of field there is. the small the number the smaller the depth of field.

Does that help?

Wow, great updates! I love the Oswald! I've never seen a plush of him before. I have read that you can buy the Liberty Tree glasses for $5 a piece if you just ask your waiter! I'm planning on asking in January.

Hi all! Okay so i'll admit I stalled a little because this is my last day post! and it makes me sad...and then I forgot...haha...so really delayed ending!

Last Day Part 1

So...if you haven't noticed I don't sleep in on vacations. I don't really see the point. I'm paying to be there I want to soak up every ounce of fun! hahaha....so needless to say...we were up early!

We quickly packed up our bags (we had done a little bit the night before) and made sure we weren't forgetting anything. Lots of pouting coming from my end.

We had to say goodbye to my balloon...so I took some photos of it.

I really love the theming! Its super cute. It is a fun course and worth a try if you have time. I really love Fantasia so this was extra fun for me. I think I might have won...but i'm not sure. we had too much fun to care!

After our fun game we made our way over to the Yacht club.

We went in and walked around. We hadn't had a chance to explore the other Epcot resorts so this was nice.

I was super excited! I really wanted a sundae but I was a good girl and got lunch first!

For starters we both got the Caesar salad.

For our main I got Veggie Burger - Grilled vegetable and grain patty topped with lettuce and tomato served on a multi-grain bun. Served with fresh fruit or fries (surprise!) with Mozzerella Cheese

Yum! for me nothing beats a good veggie burger.

DH got Burger Heaven (single) - A Juicy beef patty topped with your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle served on a fresh baked bun, with French fries or fresh fruit.with American Cheese

and...DH is similar to me....loves a good burger!

While we were eating our main someone got a kitchen sink! which was fun to get to see. I feel like you need 10+ people to finish this...or you'll be sick. but this was a family of four! best of luck! haha.

Then it was time to get what we came for...dessert!

We really enjoyed Beaches and Cream....probably would go back just for Dessert next time. but still was a nice way to finish off our trip.

We really enjoyed this! It was such a nice and different thing to do. It was a good way to travel around the boardwalk.

After our ride....we really didn't have much more stalling we could do. We popped into the shop to use up some of our snack credits and trade some pins. Then we sadly trudged back to the lobby to get our luggage and wait for the magical express to take us away... :(

Its so sad that something that can make you so happy....can also make you so sad. Oh Magical Express we have such a love/hate relationship!

Before we knew it we were on our last ride at Disney

I was trying to stay happy...DH was just sad.

We had an uneventful flight home probably because we were so sad. I think we watched My Backyard goes Disney....trying to get some of the magic.

We had a really great trip. It was sad that DH got sick because he felt he missed half of his vacation. by the time he was better we were leaving! Which is sad. Even sadder is we have no idea when we will be able to get back! I am trying to persuade DH to go for Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween next year....but we'll have to see! At least we have a Disney Cruise to look forward too! Hope you all enjoyed my TR. Sorry for how long it took me!
