I am still writing all of my trip reports but I figured I would write a "Readers Digest" version here.

First, what a great resort! The theming here is spectacular. The animals are incredible to watch and enjoy. The staff is also top notch. The food offerings at the concierge lounge is excellent. We had a choice of barbecued shrimp and beef, veggie and beef wraps, a great continental breakfast and great snacks. The coffe was outstanding. That espresso machine is heaven sent!! If you plan on staying don't forget to ask for bottled water and soda to take to the parks. I read somewhere that this lodge didn't offer bottled water. It does you just have to ask for it.

If you have the opportunity, take advantage of the sunrise safari!

The transportation from this resort was very good! It would have been great if it wasn't 90 degrees and humid. Even a 5 minute wait was tough the first couple of days...we hadn't had enough time to adjust to the weather yet. Most of our waits were between 5-10 minutes. Longer leaving from the parks and returning to AKL if we decided to wait for a seat instead of standing and that was rare.

The hidden Mickeys hunt was great fun as was the story telling. Just relaxing at the fire pit was rewarding. The night vision goggles were also cool!

Boma!! Need I say more? Room service was very good and pretty reasonable for what you received.

Lots of other good things to say about AKL if you have any questions ask away!

I'm so glad you enjoyed AKL! I think it's my favorite, but I'll have to see how concierge at the Poly is.

Can't wait to read your trip report. We will be visiting the AKL Concierge for the first time in November (and then on to the Poly Concierge). We will be taking our 3 kids (7-9-11) on the Sunrise Safari - they are big animal lovers. Do they really stop long enough for your to take a good picture, without bouncing all over the place? How was the breakfast afterwards? Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Check out the trip reports board...I'm through 7 days of the trip so far. It's getting a bit more difficult since I lost my notes.

They do stop long enough on the sunrise safari for you to take lots of pictures and great video. The breakfast was absolutely terrific!

Love AKL concierge, but was surprised by two things I'd never seen in a concierge lounge:

Guests coming to the lounge in their courtesy bathrobes! Quite starting to me and completely inappropriate. And I'm not talking children here!

Guests packing up the snacks in goodie bags. Give me a break!

The SS is amazing - ours was over an hour and the breakfast that followed was delicious!

Beachangel,

I can't say that we saw anyone walking around in bathrobes! That would have been different. We took some treats back to the room on plates so we could watch the animals from our balcony.

Our SS was just under or just over an hour long...very enjoyable!

We only used plates because I couldn't stuff any more bagels in my pockets!;)

I will say that we were constantly asked if we wanted anything else to eat or drink. "We'll be putting the offerings away in 15 minutes", "...10minutes", "...5 minutes". I don't mean for that to sound annoying or pushy, they were very polite. We felt very pampered and cared for.
