Princesses don't hit, kick or spit.................This phrase was said quite a few times on our trip when my little princess and her lovely brothers would start to pick on one another. Usually it was while in lines but occasionally it was said while at dinner or in the pool or in the room :rotfl: Being the only girl with 3 brothers she fights the hard battle of wanting to wear dresses and be a princess and wanting to duke it out with them when they get to playing. Hence this phrase came to be, and the boys loved to remind her of it!

If your following me over from my PTR then thank you, I hope my report lives up to your expectations. If your just joining then :welcome:, I love having readers and promise to update often. I have no life so that shouldn't be a problem :rotfl:

Ok, so where to begin? How about introductions?

There's me Lisa 36, SAHM and lover of all things Disney. My grandparents took me yearly as a child but I've only been 4 times as an adult. I am raising good Disney loving children and slowly showing my DH the light: I've become a bit obsessive about doing Disney Theme Nights, you can go to my PTR to see the ones we did leading up to our trip and I plan on continuing them until our next trip which will probably not be until 2013 :sad1: My favorite park is MK and favorite ride is The Haunted Mansion.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/015-12.jpg

Then there's my 41 year old DH Chris. He works hard so that we can keep up with the kids and mine Disney habit:lovestruc I know he's getting hooked when he doesn't diasgree with me anymore when I say we'll be back in 2 yrs, lol. Of course I would like to go every year but he has this silly notion that we should vacation other places once in a while so every 2 years it is! He has been to Disney 4 times, his favorite park is Epcot and favorite ride is Everest.

He'd kill me if he knew I posted this but I love this pic;)
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/082-2.jpg

Onto Christian my 15 year old DS. Even though most kids his age balk at the idea of going to Disney, he absoluetly loves it. Don't get me wrong he does get bored at times, especially when we are waiting in lines for characters but for the most part he enjoys it very much. He is baseball obsessed sophomore in high school and an all around great kid. This trip we brought along my neice which was perfect for him, they were able to hang out after we went to bed at night and go off on their own in the parks. On our next trip I will probably let him bring a friend since having someone there around his own age worked out so well. This was his 4th trip and like his father his favorite park is Epcot and ride is Everest.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/067-1.jpg

Next is my 8 year old DS Ben, he is developmentallly delayed and has mild Cerebral Palsy. He is my little inspiration, in his 8 years he has overcome so many obstacles. He just started walking on his own about 3 years ago and still needs a stroller for long distances (like Disney) but is doing great! He's a lover of books and anything Cars. This was his 3rd trip and his favorite park is Magic Kingdom and ride is Toy Story Mania.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/029-7.jpg

Sam is my 7 year old DS. He is my wild and crazy one! Sam is little my prodigy when it comes to Disney, he helps me plan our theme nights out and can name every character from every Disney movie. He loves the thrill rides like his momma and is thankfully still not embarassed to hug the princesses:cloud9: This was Sam's 3rd trip and his favorite park is DHS and ride is Star Tours.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/165.jpg

Next is Emily, my 4 year old princess and inspiration for the title of this report. She is as girly as they come but loves to get dirty too:rolleyes: She has a collection of way too many American Girl dolls for a girl her age and also collects Minnie Mouses. This trip her and I got to have some wonderful mommy/daughter time when she went to BBB, it was something I had been looking forward to more than she was I think. This was Emily's 3rd trip and her favorite park is MK and favorite ride is TOT:scared1:

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/137.jpg

Joining us on our trip for the 3rd time was my MIL Camille. She likes to come along and share in the joy that Disney brings the kids. She calls me her travel agent and lets me do all of the planning. She just goes along for the ride and does whatever we tell her is on the agenda. She went to WDW once before with her DH and has gone on our last 3 trips.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/663.jpg

Also joining us this year was my neice Cassandra, she just turned 20 a couple of days before our trip so we celebrated her birthday all week. She has only been to WDW once when we went back in 2002 with DH's brother and sister in law. They were thinking about coming for a few days on this trip but weren't able to get away this week. They did however go down for a long weekend a couple of weeks ago because they won a all exspense paid trip at the Grand Floridian. Some people have all the luck!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/523.jpg

So there's the Who, I'll be back with the When and Why soon and the big reveal of our trip.

Yes, don't we all when we come home from Disney? Dh and I were discussing on the way home that we may take a couple days at the beach on the way home from our next trip.

Thanks all for following me over! I will get to work tonight on the reveal.

We love POP, we've stayed there on our last 2 trips. The suites they are building look like they are coming along nicely so hopefully by the time we return we'll get to stay there, I'm thinking of a split stay between there and AKL.

So for those of you who read my PTR you know that this trip was a surprise to my younger kids. They knew we were going back in 2011 they just didn't know when exactly we were going. And let me say how hard it was to keep the surprise, packing only after the kids were in bed, talking in code, hiding packages as soon as they were brought in the house. I almost gave away the surprise with a little smiley face I put on the calendar on the 26th, Sam noticed it immediately when May came around and bugged us continuously about what it was. I ended up telling them that it was a feild trip I was planning for them ;)

I started doing Disney theme nights in preparation for the trip but as far as the kids knew we were just doing them for fun. On the night before our trip I had planned a Walt Disney World/Mickey Mouse night. We rented a Vintage Mickey dvd from Netflix so as far as they knew it was just another movie night. The first surprise of the night came when my MIL brought a special guest, my neice Cassandra. They knew Granny was coming for our night, she's come to a couple already so it was not unusual for her to be here. But when Cass came they were overjoyed, they all love her so much and since she lives 3 hours away they don't get to see her all that much.

Here's a few pics of the decorations Emily and I did for the night

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/001-8.jpg

The buffet after Emily went to town with some of her Disney figurines

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/007-7.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/008-10.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/012-7.jpg

We started the night off with some snacks

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/016-11.jpg

Then had some special pizzas that DH had them make at his restaurant (he's a GM of a CPK), we also had some salad and pasta.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/011-10.jpg

Sam eating a Mickey ear

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/025-6.jpg

And dessert was cupcakes, for those who have seen my past theme nights you know I go all out on the cupcakes but there was no time for elaborate decorating this night so I went the easy route, please forgive me :rotfl:

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/013-13.jpg

Then it was craft time, the kids decorated picture frames and we put a picture in it from a past trip, even Cass who I dug a pic from our 2002 trip out for.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/020-5.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/021-6.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/022-9.jpg

Then at 7pm we got a phone call. Who could it be? It was Mickey Mouse! He was calling to tell the kids that he heard how well they were doing in school and how proud he was of them, there was more but to honest I can't even remember what. And of course I forgot to videotape it! So they were so happy that Mickey called and now I told them it was time for them to open this.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/017-9.jpg

This had been sitting on the ottoman, staring at them all evening, just waiting to be opened! I get the camera ready all set to videotape this awesome occasion and this is what I got.

http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/?action=view&current=026-6.mp4

Yes somehow I stopped videotaping after about 5 seconds:scared1:

So let me just tell you what happened:lmao: They tore into the wrapping , opened the box and out came a Tinkerbell balloon with a note attached to it!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/074-2.jpg

Then the screams and jumping up and down happened:lovestruc Just like I had secretly hoped for but was afraid wouldn't! They were so excited, I swear it was something right out of the commercials! My DN got it on tape on her phone so as soon as sends sends it to me I'll post it on here. All of my hard work and sneaking around totally paid off:cloud9:

Here's a couple of pics I got after the reveal, honestly as picture crazy as I am it was tough getting them to sit still long enough to get a decent picture!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/027-7.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/028-12.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/029-6.jpg

After the madness settled down Sam realized he would be missing school. This was the one thing I worried about, he tends to freak out when he thinks he's missing out on something at school, staying home when he's sick is like torture to him! So out came the packet his wonderful teachers had prepared for him. Including a book all about the fun he'll be having at Disney they made for him and letters from his teachers saying how it was ok to miss school for the week. Sam's got OCD and some anxiety issues so all of this stuff was so helpful, he quickly got over the fact that he's missing school and was all set to go!

I had planned on playing a round of the Magic Kingdom game I had found at a yard sale a few weeks ago and maybe watching the planning video but it was getting late and we had to get up really early the next day so I had them grab a couple of things that they MUST have with them on our trip and off to bed they went! Or at least Ben and Emily went to sleep, Sam was up until about 10pm but finally crashed. DH packed the truck up and went to sleep around the same time as Sam and I headed up about 11pm.

We had a departure time set for 5am, would we make it?

Ok Ive jumped on the ship....this is so exciting I cant wait to read more!!! We are going in December the 28th through January 11th 2012 and so for the next couple months while I wait for December to get here I will be reading trip reports and doing everything disney:goodvibes
We live near Disneyland in California and go very often as we always try to have our AP's however I became addicted to WDW in Florida when we took our very first trip there in 2006 thanks to McDonalds!!! We won it all expense paid at Disney's Boardwalk Villas....it was amazing....now all I do is dream about the day I move to Florida just to be near Disney World :goodvibes
We also Surprised our girls one time for a 2 week trip at Disneyland staying at Disneys Grand Californian Hotel and it was fantastic to get that reaction and reading your trip report on how you surprised your children took me back to the day that our girls thought we were going to be going to do some things in town including droping off a huge load at Goodwill (that is how we explain the sheet covering all the luggage we had packed into the back of our SUV) our girls thought ther donation boxes under the sheets and when we got there I gave them each an envelope that they opened to find and printed out Disney Itenerary along with a disney gift card loaded with cash for them to spend...I will never forget their reaction......priceless!

Saying HI! and having been on the boards for all of three-ish years and stopping religiously everyday to read everyone's wonderful trips.... living my life vicariously through theirs...rarely ever posting because I type for Grad School all the time. I need to save these pudgy short fingers for Thesis work... your TR got me out of lurkdom.... for all of three seconds :rotfl:, but I needed to sahre... that was the coolest reveal ever!

I have seen some pretty impressive ones.... treasure hunts, scrabble games, crosswords, videos, but the simple technical effects.... the kids opening the box, the balloon rising from the midst of torn wrapping paper, the sounds of gasping seeing the note attached to the string of the balloon... I now know how I am going to reveal to the parents if and when we ever have a child....

Thank you... for making this night amazing. :lovestruc

Please take this note as a visual understanding that I am subbing to your story and following your lovely family's memories and hoping my time passes fast and quickly.... as I too am going back to my Happy Place.

As I patiently await your return and my favorite parts of every TR... the Journey and arrival and first day plans... I am hoping to your PTR and lurk on your planning adventure.

PS Post Next Part soon!!:wizard:

Isn't it great surprising the kids? Thanks for letting me slack on the cupcakes, I already have something in mind for our next theme night so I'll make up for it :rotfl:

Saying HI! and having been on the boards for all of three-ish years and stopping religiously everyday to read everyone's wonderful trips.... living my life vicariously through theirs...rarely ever posting because I type for Grad School all the time.

Thanks for soming out of lurkdom, I am quite a lurker myself ;)

Happy that you enjoyed the reveal, it wasn't anything extravagant but got the best results I could ask for :cloud9:

YAY  So glad that the surprise went well and they were so excited!!! And another great theme night :thumbsup2 I love the Mickey pizza!

Thanks Shannon!

I am so glad that your reveal went so well - and that there were no tears or accusations of lying!!:rolleyes1

I am loving that Mickey pizza - I might need to figure out how to do that here at home.

Thank you, you know I was afraid of a bad reveal;) The pizza was my idea but I give all of the credit to my DH.

Yippee! A trip report already! LOVED the reveal...can't wait to read more more more!!! :cool1::cool1:

I know I started the TR a bit early but I have my reasons....the main one being I took HORRIBLE notes, lol. So I have to hurry up with this report before I forget everything :lmao:

I love the theme night and the cupcakes look yummy! :thumbsup2

Yay on the reveal going as planned - sounds like it was awesome! :cool1:

Thank you :goodvibes

What a fabulous way to start out your trip (with a fabulous reaction!!) :goodvibes So happy to hear you pulled off the surprise!

Thanks, I still can't believe that they had no idea:woohoo:

I am so glad the reveal paid off. I am sure the expression was priceless. Isn't it great that planning is a great part of Disney. I can't wait to hear more. We leave Friday night so I am trying to get prepared. Now that school is finally over (last professional day was today), I can finally start packing.

:yay: Only a few more dayas for you! Believe it or not even though I just got back Im jealous!

Wahoo! The reveal went off without a hitch (okay except for the video camera). :cheer2: I am glad you were prepared for Sam...made the evening even better and relaxful so that he could enjoy the moment! I can only hope that mine will go off just was well in 6 1/2 months!

Can't wait to read more and live your trip's memories with you!

You have your surprise so well planned out already how could it go wrong? The problem at least for me was keeping the secret, lol.

Joining in! I loved your reveal. I have a question for you. How did you get the cheese cut into Mickey shapes? Do you have a cutter that small or did you freehand them?

I got the cheese from Walmart, I don't think I could ever has the patience to do that, lol. I have a few Mickey cookie cutters but none that small.

First off congrats on taking 3 girls to WDW! Dealing with 1 princess was tough for me, mine truely took on the princess/diva attitude once we got there (and hasn't lost it yet either, lol) I can't believe you made it all the way there without them figuring it out. Once my kids started seeing the South of the Border signs we would be done, lol.

That is probably my issue...planned to well so I may be disappointed. I think Boo is on to me! Thinking of changing my reveal plans to an advent calendar because we may have to leave Christmas midmorning the way flights are looking. So here I go again, planning the perfect surprise:rotfl:

If your looking for Mickey shaped things, Target has Mickey chicken nuggets. My oldest says they are not very good but my youngest eat them up (I'm not a fan of frozen chicken nuggets so I've never had them;))

With all of the excitement of sharing the reveal I forgot to give the details of our trip. We stayed at Pop Century from May 26th - June 3rd. Our usual vacation time is in August because I hate to take the kids out of school but when free dining came up for that week in May I thought it would be good because the temps would be less (NOT) and the crowds would be less (not really either). Plus DH and DS Sam love Star Wars so we'd get to go to a SWW! Because of Memorial Day and graduation ODS would only be missing 4 days of school and since he's a great student and the teachers gave the green light we were set. Taking my 2 youngest DSs out was no problem at all. Sam's teacher gave us work to do while away just because she knows Sam worries about missing stuff but Ben's teacher said to go and have a great time, not to worry about doing work:goodvibes

We chose to stay at Pop because that's where we stayed last time and the kids loved it. We got 3 rooms, 2 connecting for my MIL and us and one next to us for DS and DN.

Now that that is out of the way let's move on the day 1 our travel day.:thumbsup2

The trip down to WDW is approximately 14 hours, we've done the trip 3 other times so we knew unless there was any bad weather or accidents to cause taffic we should make it to WDW by the end of the day! Goal was to leav at 5am, so I set the alarm for 4am. I got up and got the rest of the things together that had not been packed the night before, I woke up DH around 4:20 and waited until 4:45 or so to get the kids up. I had them wear the clothes they would be traveling in to bed so there would be no need to change clothes. Before we left we woke up DS Christian, he usually gets up for school at 5:30 anyway so he told us to just wake him when we were leaving.

I guess I left this out, Christian my MIL and DN would be flying down to Florida later that afternoon. Even though we have an 8 passenger car there is no way we could all fit in the car with all of our luggage. Plus I don't think I could take 14 hours trapped in a car with my MIL :rotfl: I love her and all but..........;) The plan was for Christian to go to school for half a day and my MIL would pick him up at 11am (although somehow he talked her into picking him up at 10am), the car service picked them up at our house at noon and their plane took off at 3:05. We only live literaly 15 minutes from the airport but my MIL is a bit nuts about flying so she wanted to be there in plenty of time.

Ok so back to rest of our travel day. So plan was to leave at 5am, did we make it?

Horrible picture but it says 5:06, we were only 6 minutes behind schedule, which is pretty good for us :thumbsup2

I had made state line goody bags for the kids and after only about 45 minutes they got their first bag when we crossed over in Virginia. I was horrible about taking pictures this day so I'll just post some pics from my PTR with the goodies I stuffed the bags with.

Autograph books, the lanyards and the bags I will use for the goodie bags

They loved the bags, it was something for them to look forward to every few hours or so. They were funny because they would keep asking me when we would be in the next state, and amazingly enough even Emily remembered the order of states, from the night before when I went over a map of our trip with them!

Around 8am we were all getting hungry so we stopped at a Burger King for breakfast. I took the kids in to potty while DH got the food which we brought back to the car to eat on the road. Our next stop was around 10am for another potty break and to get gas. From there my notes ended, I think I was too busy dealing with the kids to stop and take notes so I'm going on memory from here on out. We stopped for lunch in either N.C or S.C around 12. Here's where I made a BIG mistake, I will never eat a McD's cheeseburger on the road again. I don't know if it's because we rarely eat McD's or if there was something wrong with my burger but it just was so unsettling in my stomach:scared1: Won't go into the gory details but we ended up having to stop a couple more times than planned:sick: We stopped again around 5 or so for some snacks and ice cream.

Here's the few pics I took on the road

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/036-2.jpg

Because I am cheesy I love the Pedro signs, unfortunately Dh is not cheesy and never wants to stop at South of the Border so I have to be happy with amusing myself with the signs, lol.

Once we hit Florida DH told me to go ahead and book the night at POP. We were not sure if we'd make it down the whole way so we didn't want to make a reservation. I was able to get a room for the night with no problems. I told them that we would be starting our package the next day and asked if it were at all possible we'd like to get the same room so we wouldn't have to switch rooms. The rest of the gangs plane was getting in around 5:20 so they would soon be arriving at the resort, I called my MIL to let them know we would be getting in soon after they would.

Soon we were seeing this beautiful sight!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/052.jpg

Alright the sun was KILLING me! I could not get a decent picture of the sign! A couple of minutes later we pulled into here.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/054-1.jpg

At this point my MIL, DS and DN had checked in about 45 minutes before, MIL had told me where our room was, that we had gotten all of our requests and that they were the same rooms we would get to stay in the duration of our trip:cheer2: DH dropped me off at the front and went around to start unloading the car with the kids. Check in took me about 10 minutes:banana: and I was on my way! I went around to our room and found that DH still wasn't there. He arrived a few minutes later, he had had a hard time finding a parking spot and a POP CM saw this and flagged him down. DH then pulled over and the CM helped him unload the stuff onto a cart. When they got to the room the CM would not let us touch the bags, he said we should start to enjoy our vacationa and he would unload everything. SOOOOOOO nice:worship: He also handed my kids tons of Mickey stickers DH gave him a very generous tip for being so awesome :thumbsup2

Up next what did we do with the rest of our night? Did we take it easy and spend time by the pool or do our usual first night ritual and end up at DTD?

I usually do goody bags for my kids every hour, but I am thinking of doing the state-line idea this time. Given that our drive is 20 hours, it will save me quite a few bags.

What a wonderful CM your DH found in the parking lot! That was some nice pixie dust to start off your trip. :wizard:

Looks like ya'll made good time on your drive! Did the bags help the kids get over the "boring" aspects of the road trip??

Can't wait to hear about Pop as we'll be staying there for the first time in August. How were the beds? I have the worst time finding mattresses that are comfortable - and I like a soft bed (or as my husband says each time we go somewhere - "princess and the pea!"). I have thought about buying a foam topper - but don't want to spend the money if I don't have to!

20 X 3 bags would be alot! I had the bags up front with me and was thankful when we got to FL so I'd have some leg room, lol. The state bags were good because it gave the kids something to look forward to. It allso helped out when the kids weren't behaving very well I'd just have to ask if they really wanted their next bag:thumbsup2 I do have to fgure out something for our ride home though, the ride to WDW they were pretty well behaved, the ride home was a different story:scared1:

The bags definately helped out with the boredom, in the past I've always had a bag of goodies I'd give them when needed but this way worked out really well!

We love Pop, the past 2 trips we'ved stayed there and had rooms in the same exact area so it was nice and comfortable for us. The mattresses were not bad, at home I find myself waking often with my back hurting but no problems while there. But that could have been I was so exhausted fomr the parks I would have slept soundly anywhere:rotfl:

So I left off with us just arriving at Pop. Our usual first day/night ritual is to go to DTD. Since I wasn't sure if we were going to make it down that first night I made plans for us to go to DTD another night later in the week but since we did make it, the thought did cross our minds. But it was already after 7pm and we were starving and the pool was calling the kids names so the pool won out. Little did I know that the pool would win out alot this week;) My DS Christian and DN did choose to go to DTD though so we said goodbye and they took the bus over there.

I quickly found swimsuits and sent DH down ahead of us to get food from the food court while I got the kids ready. We went down, found an table with a great view of the pool and the kids jumped in right away. They were in heaven, the pool's temp was pretty warm too so it was nice to get in after being in the car all day. DH got our mugs and pizza for the kids and him and I got the chicken ceasar salad. DH had also brought down our small cooler with a few Mike's Lemonades in it so we got to sit by the pool and relax which was great after a long day. :cloud9:After being down there an hour or so we thought it was best to get the kids showered and in bed because we had an early morning the next day.

You may notice a lack of pictures in this update. I'll tell you why, because I have bad luck with cameras :lmao:. Seriously I think I've gone through 6 cameras in the past 5 years or so. I didn't want to bring my good camera down to the pool so I brought my small Kodak Easyshare and stuck it in the top part of the cooler. I forgot to take it out of the cooler and DH had put ice in the cooler for the Mikes which by morning was a melted mess because of course he didn't dump the ice out when we got back to the room. The next day he goes to dump the water out of the cooler not realizing my camera was in there:scared1: So guess what? My camera stopped working! I went to turn it on and at first it looked like it was going to but the lense comes halfway out and becomes stuck:headache: So needless to say there will be no pool pictures, even though we spent a good amount of time at the pool I was afraid to bring my good camera down there:sad2:

Up next our first day in the parks!

I do feel bad about no pictures for this update, especially since I took over 2000 pictures plus over 300 Photopass pictures so I will post some pics of Pop Century that my DN and DS took on our last night there. I had not taken any pictures of the resort the whole week so I sent them on a mission that last night, the quality is not the best but it was close to midnight and they were being goofy so I'll forgive them;)

The pool is a great way to relax. But I so could not have sent my husband to pick out food. He is an engineer and a linear thinker - if he doesn't have the specifics - it just doesn't happen. So, unless I wanted to be on the phone with him the whole time - and at that point, it's just easier to do myself!

I'm sorry about your camera luck! I just got a new point and shoot camera last weekend (I have a dslr too) - and it also works underwater. I am so excited to have it - to use at the water parks. To give to my husband to take pictures on Splash and Kali. And to take to the parks if it rains and leave my big camera at home!

Oh I usually don't let my DH pick out food for me :lmao: Since my stomach was still a bit upset from the McD's earlier I instructed him to get me a salad, didn't matter what kind! Your going to think I'm crazy but before we go on our trips I scour the menus from All Ears and write out what the younger kids and myself will have at each CS place, even desserts and drinks. This way when we get to the restaurant I just rip that page out and hand it to my DH so I can get us a table while he gets our food. I know I have WAY too much time on my hands :rotfl:

I need to get myself a waterproof camera, I've broken 2 cameras now due to water:eek: And later in the week when it rained for a bit in MK I didn't want to break out my dslr so I have little pictures of Frontierland and Adventureland:headache:

LOL, you didn't freak me out at all! I felt so bad that I didn't introduce myself and get your name, I was so rude! At that moment when I saw you my DS15 was in a mood and had disappeared, I was trying to text him and see where he was. I loved seeing someone from the Dis, I didn't see any green Mickey heads on anyones stuff all week, of course I also forgot to put mine on my backpack before we left so I can't really say anything:lmao:

The reason for the 2000 pics is my 4 kids. It is nearly impossible to get a picture with all 4 looking at me at the same time so I end up with a dozen of the same pose, lol.

My dslr is on its last legs - hopefully it will make it through our vacation and I won't have to rely on the little one. But a back up is a good thing. I have been watching several waterproof camera prices. The one I want is the canon - but it's almost $300. And, really, all ps cameras are the same - especially when you are used to the dslr. So, when Office Depot had the fuji one on sale last week for $99 - I checked the reviews on amazon - and they were okay - for what it is - I think all the negatives have to come from people who are used to the dslr - so I got it. It has done great outside - not so hot inside - but for what it is - it's fabulous!

(I admit it, I am a dslr snob. Not that I even have a clue as to how to work my big camera. I just lurve that it actually takes a picture when I press the button - and not seconds later!)

I didn't think you were rude at all. I fully understand about children being in moods, with my Dh being the worst sometimes. I would be worried sick if I couldn't find my child, especially in a crowd at Disney, regardless of their age.

OMG! :rotfl: We are too much alike...although I don't hand a copy to dh, I have scoured the menus and know exactly what I want when I sit down. Already have a list going for our trip!

The reason for the 2000 pics is my 4 kids. It is nearly impossible to get a picture with all 4 looking at me at the same time so I end up with a dozen of the same pose, lol.

This happens to you too! I swear I wonder what we did before digital cameras? I must take 10 awful pictures before I get the perfect one...no wonder why my kids run when they see the camera! :rotfl:

I am so sorry about the camera, but at least it was not your "good" one! I blessing in everything I suppose!

I just got my nice expensive camera in March but have yet to learn how to use it. :upsidedow So far the auto button works great for me! One day I will learn how to use it:rolleyes1

Thank you:) I remember a couple of years ago in DHS when my then 13 yr old DS went in one direction when we went in the other and we couldn't find him for about 30 minutes! And of course he did not have his cell phone on:scared1: Even though I knew the chances of something happening to him were slim I panicked and started to cry, lol. Thankfully he was smart enough to find a CM who let them usse their phone to call us!

Mine is on Auto all the time!! The only time I try to tweak it is if there are lots of shadows or it's dark. But...all that time I spend tweaking it - I have usually missed the picture. I just love that it actually takes the picture when I press the button. Well worth the hundreds of dollars right there :thumbsup2

Several years ago, I bought photoshop on ebay - it was new, sealed in the box, but 2 versions before the current one (at that time) - and I only paid $70 for it!

So...I do mess around with all of my pictures - and fix - sort of - what I could have done in the first place if I understood all the fstop stuff!

After having a great nights sleep I got a phone call from Stitch at about 6:30am. I always make sure my backpack is packed up and clothes are laid out for everyone the night before so getting everyone ready is fairly painless. This morning I had to go down to the front desk and re check in and get our KTTW cards because our package began on this day. We had gotten a voice mail the night before saying that if we'd like they would deliver our new cards to our room the next day around 8am, but I wanted to be gone by 8 so it was just easier for me to go down and do it. While there I ran into the gift shop to buy lanyards and pouchs for DH and myelf to wear in the parks and pens for the kids autographs. We like the pouches to keep our KTTW cards, FPs and the boys GACs in. I also brought our mugs down to the food court and filled them up for everyone. Once back in the rooms DH and MIL were already up and ready as were DN and DS. I got the younger kids up and dressed, I ate a muffin we had brought from home, they ate some donuts and pop tarts and we were out the door by 7:45am!

Got to DHS around 8am. At this point Sam still doesn't know that we are there for SWW, we wanted to keep it a surprise until we got the park and bless his heart but he didn't even think twice when I had him and Ben wearing Star Wars tees, lol. But as we're walking up he starts to see the signs and the fact that just about every kid there was wearing some kind of SW attire, he looked at me all excited and asked if we were there for SWW? When we said yes he started hugging and kissing me thanking me so much for bringing him there :cloud9:

This is him while we were waiting in line at the turnstiles

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/055.jpg

Think he looks happy? :goodvibes

We had a while to wait so I left DH and everyone in line and I went over to Guest Services to get the boys GACs and a sticker so we could use Ben's stroller as a wheelchair. I'm guessing at about 8:30 or so the Stormtroppers appeared. Their little show was pretty cute, my boys were in complete awe! And I must admit even as an adult, seeing those guys up there was pretty cool:thumbsup2

The Stormtroopers finally announce that they are going to let us in, as long as we head over to the new Star Tours! So that's where we headed straight away, surprisingly enough I didn't feel like it was a crazy amount of people going that way, there still seemed to lots of people doing to TSM mad dash. And there was alot of people heading towards the JTA sign ups but we had decided we were going to do that on the next day we were there.

We got to Star Tours and Ben announced that he wasn't going to ride . My MIL said she would wait with him so we dropped them off at a bench and got in line, the ride was pretty much was a walk on, we didn't even have time to take pictures the line moved so fast! The ride was great, Sam and Emily loved it! We were done the ride by 9am, in all the excitement of the Stormtroopers I hasn't even realized that they let us in early! We passed through Tatooine Traders, promising Sam we would come back and get him anything he may want, we just didn't want to stop at the moment because we had a certain someone we all wanted to go see:goodvibes

We gathered my MIL and Ben and got in a decently short line for Chewbacca! He was supposed to be there at 9am but was running a "bit" late. That "bit "late ended up being a whole hour but we forgave him because he was pretty awesome!

Waiting for Chewie

Finally it was our turn!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/079-2.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/082-3.jpg

Ben was kinda bored at this point, he is not so much into Star Wars stuff and wanted to ride TSM so I told him after Chewie we would head over there. On the way over we ran into these guys, even though they were on the top of my list of things to see at SWW, they had a ridiculous wait and nobody wanted to get in line so I snapped a quick pics as we were passing by.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/084-2.jpg

We came upon The Great Movie Ride and MIL, DH and DN wanted to ride so we took a detour from TSm to go over there. I don't know what it was but as soon as we stepped in the doors Ben started feaking out and bolted out of his stroller, heading out the door :scared1: He somehow thought we were trying to get him to ride TOT, my MIL offered to take him out and sit with him as we rode so after making sure he was ok we all went in. The ride was a walk on, we had the front row and got the gangster plot. It was so funny because when the guy took over he kept asking Sam "what are you looking at kid", Sam just stared at him with his eyes as big as saucers afraid to speak. He knew from past trips that it was nothing to be scared of but his face was just priceless:rotfl:

We left the ride, found MIL and DS again and headed over to Pixar Place for Ben. We saw the Green Army Men while DH was parking the strollers.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/110-1.jpg

The wait for Buzz and Woody didn't look so bad so I thought we should hop in line for them before riding TSM. Woody is one of Ben's favorites and we've never wanted to wait in the long lines for him so this was a great chance to see him. As soon as we stepped into the inside part of the line, Ben has another meltdown:scared1: Who the heck is this kid? My Ben at home is a very laid back guy and rarely has meltdowns, now we're here in WDW and he's had 2 in less than a half an hour! I pulled him out and was trying to calm him down when a wonderful CM approached us. She had noticed the GAC in the pouch I had on my lanyard and asked if Ben had problems waiting in line. I told her yes but I knew the GAC didn't work for characters, she told me to go over to the exit and wait for her while the another CM went in the line and pulled my DH and the other kids out for us. She told us that they usually don't do this but she felt so bad for Ben and wanted to make sure he got to see Buzz and Woody. They then brought us in the exit and let us move to the front of the line to see our Toy Story favs! Ben eyes lit up when he saw the guys! I cannot tell you how appreciative I was of those CMs, more pixie dust sprinkled on us by some great people!

Look at Ben running with his arms out to Woody for a hug!
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/111-1.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/124.jpg

We then much to Ben's delight we FINALLY made our way over to TSM! Everyone loved it as usual, I got to ride with my DH and would you believe he only beat me by 100 points? We are very competetive people so I vowed to get him next time, lol.

DN and DD were partners, they would end up being ride partners for the majority of the trip. Emily was thrilled to finally have another girl around!

After riding we all decided we were hungry. I was trying to not be the crazy over planner this trip and hadn't planned a CS place for us so after discussing options we decided to try something new. Where would we go? Your going to have to wait and see because it's almost midnight and this momma is tired, I'm heading up to bed:rotfl:

We went to SWW while we were down there. They let us in about 30 minutes early also. I went to FP TSM while the rest of the family went to ToT and RRC. It was the first time we rode both of those and we had a blast. I thought the kids would be scared but those 2 rides ended up being their favorites. It was quiet on that end of the park. But SWW wasn't as crowded as I thought it was going to be.

The girls really don't know much about Star Wars - it was just last summer that Katie saw the movie - and just the first one. But...I think the SWW look really cool! The girls really do like the Star Tours ride - so I think they'll love the new version. How many times did you ride it - was it as cool as everyone says??

Once we rode Star Tours - leaving my mom with all our stuff (she gets motion sick easily) - and Darth Vader and Stormtroopers rode with us! A stormtrooper sat right behind us - and played with Madalyn's pigtails the whole time. And because I left all our stuff with my mom - I didn't even get a picture! Oh - and this was in September, too - not even a SWW!

Chewie was the one character the boys really wanted to see besides Darth Vader. We totally lucked out too because they cut the line right behind us for him to take a break and the ewoks were going to come out. Not that the ewoks aren't cutre in all but I would have been a bit upset if we had wanited an hour to see them!

I always take a million pictues in line for rides :) It kinda drives my family crazy! We've never waited in the standby line but I would like to someday just to see it, I know my kids would love Mr Potato Head, thing is I don't want to wait in an 1 1/2 hour line just to see it!

I last left off with us all being hungry and trying to decide on where to eat, somehow we decided on going to the ABC Commissary. We had past it earlier and everyone just agrees to go back there, we usually only eat at Pizza Planet for CS so we were up for anything new! I will warn you now, I did not take pictures of food, I know bad Dis'er:lmao: Everyone always dug in too fast for me to whip the camera out! I do remember what we all ate though. DH had the chicken bleu sandwich, MIL had the asian salad, DS15, DN and I had the burger that was topped with fried shrimp (I handed mine off to DS) and the kids all had the first of many nugget meals! For dessert DH and I got this.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/131.jpg

This was just :worship: I only got a taste though because the kids quickly tossed their chocolate chip cookies aside to tear into this!

Lunch was really good, so much food so a good place we thought to get your moneys worth! After stuffing ourselves silly we decided to head over to TOT and Rockin Rollercoaster, just what everyone wants to do on a full stomach right? :rotfl: Along the way we saw these guys, again extremely long line and nobody wanted to stop

We headed to TOT first, my MIL and Ben hate thrill rides so they both opted out. I actually got Ben on this a couple of years ago and he screamed like he was getting murdered so obviously I have no problem with him skipping this one! This was DD's first time being tall enough though and she absolutely loved it. She was so funny, she was screaming and giggling at the same time. MIL and DS waited for us in the gift shop so once we gathered them we made our way over to Rockin Rollercoater. This Emily was still too short for so she went with MIL and DS into the gift shop to wait for us. This was Sam's first time being tall enough for this and he totally fell in love, it is the one thing he still tells people everytime they ask him about Disney. He also now is a bit obsessed with Aerosmith :lovestruc

After the rides we dashed over to the BatB show, it was just a few minutes before starting but because we were sitting in the wheelchair section at the top we had no problem getting a seat. Don't mind me as I bore you with a few pictures of the show. This is one of my favorite Disney movies and my favorite show in all of WDW:cloud9:

After the show we went over to the Animation building, DN is a fantastic artist and I knew she would love the drawing class so we went in to check it out. I must admit I was bummed about them moving Lotso. Not that I don't love Pooh, it's just there are so many opportunities to see him elsewhere in the parks.

When then headed back over to the other side of the park. Would we ever get back to the SWW stuff?

Your dessert sure looks yummy! :thumbsup2

I love the B&TB photos - they do not bore at all. I haven't seen the show but still enjoyed watching it through your pics.

Yay on seeing all the characters - have to agree with you on Lotso. I wish they had still left him at DHS as you can see Pooh at a lot of other places.

Just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that I am enjoying reading your report. My DS (9) and DH are desperate to ride Star Tours as is was closed on our last trip. SWW would be a dream come true for them! Glad you had a good time at DHS!

Do you read the Disney food blog? They have this whole post about doing the "cupcake crawl." It's kinda like drinking around the world - but with cupcakes! And your cupcake looked delish - I don't think I've seen pictures of that one before. Was it just chocolate??

I am glad your kiddos enjoyed their rides on ToT and RnR - I  RnR - ToT is okay...and I don't go on often - not too find of anti-gravity!

I sooo agree with you about Lotso. I am really disappointed to hear that they moved him out...because you are right - there are lots of other places to see Pooh and friends. Did ya'll get to see Phineas and Ferb??

I am crossing my fingers that I can get Goo on ToT...it was probably my favorite ride in all of WDW last summer! I would probably ride it all day if I could and forget TSM. So glad Emily enjoyed it, because it gives me hope!

You have Aerosmith...I have the Beetles right now! :rotfl:

I was really hoping to see the characters in there on a non Fantasmic night which that night was supposed to be. I would love to see some of the rarer characters they bring in there like some villians!

Thanks for reading along:yay: My boys loved the ride, I have a confession I don't even rememeber what the ride was like before they redid it, even though I've riden it several times!

The cupcake crawl sounds like me kinda thing:thumbsup2 I'm going to have to check that out! The Darth Vader one was chocolate and had peanut butter in it! The frosting was :cloud9:

I love both RnR and TOT, and I'm so happy that the majority of my kiddos share my love of the thrill rides. Poor Ben I felt so bad that he didn't want to ride anything but he was happy waiting for us with Granny in the shops. Of course the fact that his granny bought him things or did pressed pennies for him while waiting helped;)

We did see Phieas and Ferb! But you'll have to wait for the next day for that one:rotfl:

The cupcake was delicious, even if I had like 2 bites before the vultures tore into it :lmao:

I hope you do get Goo to ride TOT, Emily was absolutely fearless this trip. I think she is my most brave one so far, even DS15 who loves thrill rides now, we had to coerce him to ride them when he was younger. But with Em, she begs to go on them!

Do pack your Sharpies now :lmao:, I have a few other things I forgot that I'll get to later that cost me an arm and a leg down there:scared1:

Great pics of the kids with the characters in the animation building. I LOVE Pooh sooo much, but I was surprised they added another spot to meet him, I understand the new movie coming out and all, but throw in a few more characters from it maybe :confused3

I LOVE RnR and TOT and I had to ride both alone the last couple trips, very excited to have someone to go with me this time around!! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, that show is so well done at the park too!!

When I heard they were putting Pooh in there I was hoping that someone else would be with him, Rabbit would be awesome! But I was surprised to find him alone. Besides there I saw him in at M&G's at every other park, so he is very easy to see.

I hate having to ride with strangers on the rides too, I had to ride RnR with some guy this past time and he talked the whole time before the ride and after.

While we were in the Animation building we discussed what everyone wanted to do next. My younger guys all wanted to go back and to the resort and swim of course but it was bugging me that we were there for a SWW yet hadn't done much as far as SW. We never planned on seeing any of the actors or the shows, I had wanted to do the parade but after reading on here about people waiting 2 hours to get a spot there was no way that was happening. So I really was just hoping to see some characters, but unfortunately we hadn't come across many wandering around as of yet :confused3 So I suggested we go ride TSM one more time because I was still feeling guily that Ben hadn't done much, and then walked around the Streets of America and near Star Tours and see if we could see any characters, then make our way out of the park. Everyone agreed so we headed off for TSM!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/199.jpg

This time around the ride stopped right before the bonus area and when it started back up again we didn't get to do the bonus round:headache: For anyone who has ridden TSM knows that you can rack up a ton of points in that area so I was bummed because my score sucked:rotfl: But I did beat DH :cool1:, can't remember the score but I do know I won round 2! After riding we walked around a bit looking for some Star Wars guys, we found Darth Vader but his line was HUGE and as tired as we all were we took a pass, DH got a pic of him as we walked by.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/204.jpg

We then saw a few more characters but they were so annoying! Maybe it's just the way they are supposed to be but they would take a pic, sign an autograph and then walk away from everyone else waiting there for them. Then everyone would follow him around, the character would then go up to someone else, sign, take a pic and leave again. I know that they are wandering characters but my goodness was it annoying! None of us felt like chasing these guys around so we said forget we were heading back to the resort! We did go over to Star Tours for one more ride, this time I stayed with Ben while my MIL rode. While they were riding I got our first souvenirs of the trip, I got my DH a Stormtrooper tee, Sam a SWW tee, Ben a Jedi Mickey and myself a SWW magnet.

I think this picture of DD is hilarious!
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/210.jpg

Finally a character that would stop :)
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/214.jpg

We headed back to the resort around 4 or so, it was hot as heck out and were melting as we made our way to the car so as soon as we made it back to Pop we jumped into our swimsuits and went down to the Hippy Dippy pool. After maybe about an hour they cleared the pool for thunder and lightening, we had to go and start getting ready for dinner anyway so it worked out fine. It also worked out that by the time we left to go to dinner the storm was over ;)

We all showered and changed for dinner, packed ourselves back into the car and headed over to the Poly. We had ADRs at 7:20pm for Ohanas and we left in plenty of time to make it. That was until DH went the wrong way once we went in the MK gate, I was telling him where to go, my MIL was telling him where to go but of course even though he had never been to the Poly he knew where to go :rotfl: So we end up in MK parking lot, we exit, DH turns around, comes back in the MK entrance and does the SAME exact thing he did before! This time my MIL and I just kept quiet because there is no telling this man that he is wrong:lmao: Third times a charm because we finally make it to the Poly. DH dropped us off and we went up to check in to the restaurant while he parked the car. They gave us the pager and said it shouldn't be too long. We went over to gift shop while we waited, Ben bought himself a few Disney Racers with his own money, I checked out some kitchen stuff that I figured I'd get later in the week at DTD.

We were called pretty quickly and sat at a nice table near the bar. Our server came by quickly and took our drink orders, I ordered myself a Lapu Lapu, had no idea what was in it but it's been highly recommended here on the boards so I took a chance.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/225.jpg
It paid off:rotfl:

So good, strong but good! My MIL ordered a margarita, DH a beer and the kids lemonades. The food started coming right away and it was all so good! When seated we got the pineapple bread, the kids tore into this, 7:20 is actually kinda late for us to be eating dinner so we were all so hungry! Next came the salad, OMG the dressing is to die for! My DN said "Aunt Lisa, you must find this recipe online for me", lol. I didn't have any wings because they all went so fast, even after getting more those too went. They did get thumbs up from the kids though so they must have been good, the dumplings were yummy as well, nothing to exceptional about them though. I make dumplings alot at home and they were just like the ones I get from the store. Next came the sides, both the noodles and the veggies were delicious. Finally the meats, The chicken and beef were excellent, pork a bit dry but good and the shrimp I didn't have because I'm allergic but everyone else said it was very good.

One of my favorite things they do at this restaurant is keep the kids entertained. Ben was still wiped out from his day so he stayed put and played his DS but I swear it was tough keeping Sam and Emily in their seats long enough to get some food in them at times! They did parades and dance lessons, it was all so cute. The lady leading the kids was great, she had the loveliest voice!

And finally dessert, if you've read anything about Ohanas I'm sure you've heard about the bread pudding. Let me just tell you it is everything people make it out to be and more :cloud9:

After stuffing ourselves, we rolled our way out and decided to walk around the Poly a bit.

That is so odd that the characters wander about. With their costuming, you'd think they'd have a "handler" and that there would be some organization to it all.

We all love Ohana's too. And you must go back since you didn't get wings - it's one of the best parts of the meal! I love shrimp - but it's too much work to have to peel them, so I usually forgo ;) I don't do dessert there. I know. Everyone raves. But I just can't do bananas. I like bananas - but not in anything. I don't even like banana bread. What I can't recall is if I could eat the bread pudding with ice cream - and skip the fosters sauce - I think the pudding has bananas in it too. I guess I will find out in August when we go again!

And the kids - hilarious! There are often threats of beatings when I try to take pictures!:rotfl:

I agree about the wandering characters. There were several times that my children had to just jump up next to them for 2 seconds in order to get a picture. Other times, my kids would wait only to have another family push in front of my kids. I know everybody is excited and I am sure that there were times when we might have jumped in front of another family but the character handler should have made it a little more organized.

I need to be vigilant about getting photopass pictures when we go next week. We were with a big group in both 2007 and 2009 - and somehow we never got a group picture -- and we'd have been so cute with all our matching tshirts. This year we HAVE to do it!

I so know what you mean about being in the photos. I am so often behind the camera. And my husband never thinks about taking it away from me. And sometimes I'll hand him the camera and ask him to take a photo - but unless I say NOW, it also doesn't seem to happen!:)

If you've preordered the cd then I would definately take advantage of them. One thing I made sure to do this time was to not just get the whole group but also ones with just myself, DH and kids. I know I probably was a pain to some of the photographers but honestly I didn't care too much:rolleyes1

I am also behind the camera 99% of the time. I love my DH dearly but he is just an awful photographer so I prefer to do the picture taking. It got to a point one day in Epcot he took the camera and said if I wasn't going to let him take my picture then he was going to be in charge of the camera all day so he could get some shots of me. He lasted about 30 minutes after I kept making him stop to take pictures of everything, lol.

I hear you, I hate my picture being taken too...so tend to always be behind the camera (and dh never things to take any pictures). I am hoping to take advantage and get some family shots in the parks! I also want to do a private shot at the BC/YC one afternoon...it has been a while since we have had a nice family picture done!

I love the chewie picture too...the photographer did a great job capturing the moment!

Yes I kinda just getting that, as of before the trip we didn't have many family shots so I more than made up for it!.

I thought about doing a private shoot, I would love something like that. I have told DH that this year I'd really like to get some portraits done at the beach when we go. We haven't had a family portrait with all 6 of us ever done.

Our second park day brings us to my favorite place in the world:cloud9:

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/001-9.jpg

The Magic Kingdom had AM EMH this day so I set the alarm for myself to get up at 6:30. I got up and ready, set a small snack out for the kids (to hold them over until our late breakfast) and then I woke the kids and got them dressed. We left about 7:30, I'd like to mention that this was the second day in a row where we had no issues with DN getting up early. She is a notorious night owl and her day doesn't usually start until noon so for her to get up with no complaints was a surprise. I had offered before the trip that she could sleep in anytime she wanted and meet up with us later in the parks but she never did the whole trip. My SIL has actually thanked me because she said since DN has been home she's been going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier too!

So we drive over to the MK, we thought about taking the bus but the kids wanted to ride the monorail and I confess I like it too! I love seeing the castle for the first time from the monorail, it tears me up everytime! But of course there are alot of things that make me cry happy tears at MK! After bag check we entered the park right around 8am. While we were still fresh (meaning not smelly and gross like we usually are at the end of the day) I grabbed the first PP guy I could and had some pictures taken.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOTO70.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOTO72.jpg

We then walked down a bit and we got more pictures closer to the castle (I told you I became obsessed with the PP people :rotfl:)

We made our way through the castle into Fanatsyland and came upon this lovely lady.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/015-14.jpg

On our last trip Sam became quite smitten with both Mary Poppins and Alice, I don't know what it was, maybe the British accents? So Sam especially was happy to see her! We then went to do our traditional first ride of MK. Any quesses?

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/018-16.jpg

Dumbo of course! DN and DH sat this one out so I reluctantly handed my camera over to him to get some shots, lol.

While we were getting off of the ride, DH spotted Pinocchio all by himself, we quickly made our way over to him. Pinocchio kept wanting to play tag with my DH, DH is a great sport so he played along, it was quite funny, the kids were cracking up. He ended up spending alot of time playing with the kids because there was noone else around waiting to see him.

As you can see the sun was a bit in the kids eyes
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/032-1.jpg

Ben wanted to ride his favorite, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (why is there no abbreviation for this, lol). The wait time said 20 minutes but it was a walk on. DH was annoying me because he kept rushing through and the kids wanted to play with all the new things in the line. I was able to get a few pictures.

Note to self: find every photopass person! I bought the CD today - so I need to make it worthwhile!

Could you see much of the construction in fantasy land while riding Dumbo?

I am impressed with your DN, too. Katie's Bff that is coming with us - she is a night owl. I think that is one of the reasons her family homeschools is so that they don't have to get up in the am ;) - but that will radically change next week as we get up uber early to make rope drop! We'll see how it all works out!

The Pooh ride used to be Mr Toad's Wild Ride up until 1998. There's also a statue of Mr Toad in the cemetery outside of The Haunted Mansion.

The line was so cute, I know my kids wish they had more time to play in it, they rode later in the week with my DH but I think he rushed them through the line then too!

Definately take advantage of it, you'll be happy you did!

My Dn's schedule is so loopy because that's her parents schedule too. They own a pub and BIL has late nights, while he may not work, he still stays up until they close every night to collect the money so they don't go to sleep at night until at least 3am every night. Leading up to the trip I would be seeing my DN post on FB at like 5am and I was getting nervous about her, lol. Godd luck with your DD BFF!

I left off with us finishing up Pooh and heading over to take one last ride on an oldie but goodie. Oddly enough, none of my scaredy cat children have ever been afraid of Snow White's Scary Adventure so we all decided to go ride it next.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/063-3.jpg

I know I am only one of few people that are going to miss this ride but to me it's just another childhood memory so I'm sad to see it go. But I am excited for the new Snow White coaster!

Here's a couple cute tees I saw in Sir Mickeys
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/064-2.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/065-2.jpg

We then went to watch Philharmagic where I had my first major freakout of the trip. We go in, I have Ben in his stroller (we had the stroller as a wheelchair sticker) and I had Sam holding onto the stroller beside me. That leaves 1 more child and 4 big people to watch her. As usual my MIL is in her own world so she's just walking along, DN and DS were there with me and then I see DH walking in from just parking the other stroller. UMMM, where is Emily???????????????????? DH says she's right here with you, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, she's not! I immediately get in panic mode because I just do whenever one of my kids are missing, I told MIL to hold Sam's hand and the stroller and the rest of us run outside searching frantically. Thankfully Christian finds her right away, guess where she was? DH had left her in the stroller! She had just gotten out and was looking for us. DH still swears he didn't leave her in the stroller, but he did. As you can imagine I was annoyed, for the rest of the trip I made sure I had my eyes on all of the kids at all times! Now I take my kids to all kinds of places while DH is at work, we go to the mall, museums in DC, the zoo, you name it, I like to keep the kids busy in the summer so we do lots of things. By myself I have never lost a kid, they know to stay beside me at all times, they do not walk off but when other people are around guess what? Someone gets lost, Sam has gotten lost both in the National Aquarium and for a few minutes in NYC once, both times my MIL and DH were with us, those were just the big ones but it seems when other people are around I tend to loosen the reins a bit and assume that one of the other adults are watching them. Well I learned my lesson. Ok enough about that, can you tell I'm still a bit upset? :rotfl:

We then saw Fairy Godmother by the castle, my DD still calls her Baboo. This came from Bippity Boppity Boo, actually all of the kids call her Baboo so Fairy Godmother was probably confused at first when they ran towards her yelling Baboo, lol. I love Fairy Godmother, she is so warm and sweet to the kids. We run into her later in the trip as well and it's something Emily will never forget;)

Everyone took a turn trying to pull the sword out, once I told the big kids (DN, DS and DH) that the sword really does ccome out sometimes, they were really pulling on it, lol.

We started to walk towards Crystal Palace, we had a little time before our ADR but DH wanted to try and check in early. As we were walking I look over and see Tiana and Naveen's gazebo through the trees, being the character lovers that we are, they were on the top of our must see list so I dragged everyone over to see them. And would you believe that there was noone waiting to see them? So the kids got to spend a good amount of time with them. I have to say they may have been my favorites, totally in character, the accents were awesome! At one point Sam sneezed and Naveen said I see that you are secreting mucus! So funny!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOTO97.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT101.jpg

After leaving those two we were walking passed the entrance to Adventureland and I saw another PP guy so you know what happened next!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT103.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT104.jpg

Just inside Adventureland DH saw a line and found out they were waiting for Ariel and Eric to come out. He knows Ariel is my favorite so he told me to get in line with the kids and he would go check into CP. I was like a little girl waiting to see them, we've seen Ariel a few times before, both at Akershus and in her grotto but I've never seen Eric. Don't laugh at me but when I was a senior in H.S I fell in love with The Little Mermaid. When I went off to college I got a Little Mermaid comforter, sheets and pillows, lol. As luck would have it my roommate was also a Disney nut and she had Mickey Mouse bedding! Anyway back to Ariel and Eric, we waited maybe 10 minutes until we got to the front.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT107.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT108.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/PHOT112.jpg

We then made our way over to CP for our 10:20 breakfast ADR!

EDIT - I can't believe I forgot to write about Eric! My DN wanted me to take a pic of her with Ariel and Eric with her phone and while I was doing that Ben tried to climb in his stroller. He ended up falling down, he was ok but Eric ran over to him to make sure he was ok, he picked him up and said how he shipwrecks his boat all of the time too. Ariel came over to see if he was ok and gave him a kiss. It was so sweet, seriously how can anyone not llike the characters? Little things like that are the reason I love Disney!

Wow! What a great morning!

I would love to ride the Snow White ride. I have never been on it. But, my kids see the word "scary" in the name and refuse to go anywhere close.

Poor Emily, being left in the stroller. I agree with a PP who said when you are alone, you know you have to keep track of everyone, but when there is help - well, you expect some help!

Your pictures with the Fairy Godmother are so sweet!

Our next stop was Crystal Palace for our 10:20am breakfast ADRs. If you read my PTR you'll remember that we originally had 8:05 am ADRs but when they changed the opening time of MK to 8am I changed my ADR time because I didn't want to miss out on that first hour. Besides a big reason I made the ADR for 8:05 was so we could get into the park early and hopefully gets some pics in front of the castle in an almost empty park.

DH had went and checked in while the kids and I were seeing Ariel and Eric. I made it over there just around our ADR time and we only had to wait about 5 mniutes before we were sat.

Our first stop in Tomorrowland was Monster's Inc Laugh Floor, we all love this one.

Can you tell she has him wrapped around her finger?

Next up was Buzz Lightyear, once again the competetive sides in DH and I came out, can't remember the score but he won, I blamed Emily though because she was my ride partner and she kept spinning the car :rotfl:

After Buzz we made our way over to Space Mountain, Ben of course sat this one out with MIL and while Emily wanted very badly to go, she was a couple of inches too short so she went with with them into the arcade while the rest of us rode. MIL bought the boys some cute Tomorrow t-shirts in the shop there, you'll see them on the boys later on. We came out of the ride and spent some time in the arcade, MIL had gotten alot of coins so they wanted to stay and use them up. At this point it was maybe 1pm and we decided to make our way out of the park and back to the resort for a break. But Emily had one more thing she wanted to do in Tomorrowland, something she was too small for on our last trip. Any guesses?

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/174-2.jpg

The dreaded Stitch's Great Escape! The boys rode this 3 years ago, DH, ODS and MIL rode with them while I waited with DD, both boys came off of the ride in tears. Emily for some reason wanted to ride this, even though her brothers told her how much they hated it, she wanted to try it out for herself so MIL and DH stayed with the young boys while Christian, DN and I rode with Emily. From how scared the boys were I thought it was going to be scarier but I didn't think it was too bad, Alien Encounter was scary. The smell alone from Sticth's burp will keep me away though.

Couple pics of the boys while we were waiting for MIL and DN to finish up some purchases in Stitch's gift shop, DN got a stuffed Stitch and MIL bought Sam a Vinylmation and Ben a Cars art set.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/171-1.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/173-1.jpg

We finally started to head out of the park, DH then decided we should all get ice cream so he stopped at ice cream parlor and asked what we wanted. Nobody including the kids actually wanted ice cream so instead of him just going in and getting himself some he pouted the rest of the way out of the park. We had to have a little talking to about how he had to act like an adult and stop pouting becase he didn't get his ice cream. I know crazy I had to speak to a 41 yr old about pouting but he gets in these moods and I was not going to have him ruin our day over ice cream. We finally got out of the park and back to the resort for swim/rest time.

Next up, would we ever make it back to the park?

I love the Crystal Palace for breakfast. My favorite is that puffed cinnamon french toast. Sigh...yum! We are actually doing a breakfast here during my girls trip.

Buzz is one of my favorite rides. I have been watching those you-tube videos on how to rack up the points. I have the need to impress the children on the trip! Now, the key will be if I can actually remember the high point spots.

This was the first time we've done breakfast there and I agree it was so good! I also love the dinner too so it will be a hard choice next trip.

I need to find out where those spots are! Sam, my 7 yr old got over 300,000 points on our second day at MK, he must have hit a couple of those!

When planning for my trip I discovered the Disney theme night thread. We did quite a few over the last 9 months (you can find those on my PTR) and my kids have grown to look forward to them so even though our trip is over I plan on continuing the nights. Our latest was Lilo and Stitch. After spending the day at the pool (not the beach but we were in water;)) we came home and watched the movie first, it has been years since we've seen this so it was fun to watch. While watching the movie the kids did our one and only craft, some coloring pages and a Lilo and Stitch word search. I know I slacked on this one but I totally forgot about a craft! Dinner was chicken kabobs on the grill, sticky rice, noodles, a Thai salad from CPK and fruit. Dessert was pineapple cupcakes. After dinner the kids did the limbo and DD was trying to show the boys how to hula or at least how she thinks it's done :rotfl:

Hi. Hope I'm not to late. Your PP pics are great. We didn't get as many as we usually do on our last trip. I feel the same way about my pic being taken but if we look back at our trips I'm hardly in any pics so DH now will take the camera from me at times so now there proof I was on the trip. Great report though.

I never even noticed the Mikes sitting there but no it was not hers. My MIL was sitting next to her while the kids were doing their craft so it must have been hers, maybe my DN was holding it like that so the kids wouldn't accidently kick it over? I don't know but either way before the liquor board gets called on me I'd just like to say that I do not condone underage drinking, lol.

:rotfl:

:lmao: Are our husbands related?! I swear men have no common sense when it comes to children and crowds...it is like I am taking care of 1 more child when he is around! I sure hope you have him the major glare and a good what for later that night!

I left off with us going back to Pop for a swim/maybe nap. I had the brilliant idea to save time to take the bus back to the resort. Now I don't know if we actually saved time but at the moment it felt like we waited forever for the bus. In reality we probably only waited myabe 20-25 minutes but at the time it was ungodly hot and we all just wanted to get somewhere cool. Also while every other resort had only a few people waiting for the bus, Pop had a ton of people at the busstop. Now don't bash me for this because I do have a special needs DS and may one day be in this situation but right before the bus pulled up a large family with a scooter walked up. And we were towards the back of the line so as they boarded the bus, I started to stress out that we would not be able to make this bus. We ended up making it, we were the last ones on but it was after this ride that I remembered why I like to drive to the parks, especially when dealing with 4 kids and 2 strollers! Thankfully a woman got up to let Ben and Emily sit down but the rest of us stood.

Ok, enough with the bus. After getting to the room and resting for a bit we changed into suits and headed for the pool, Christian decided he wanted to stay in the room and nap and DN and MIL wanted to grab a snack at the food court and do some shopping in the gift shop. The rest of us went down and swam, the kids were getting hungry so DH got some fries to hold them over until dinner while we were down there. After an hour or so we decided to head back to the room, DH ran over to refill our mugs and I started back with the kids to get them ready for dinner. We had 6:30 ADRs at Chef Mickey's but I wanted to give us plenty of time to get there so the plan was to leave Pop by 5:30. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for the bus and were on our way to MK, then took the monorail to the Contemporary.

We checked in to CM, took our pictures with the Mickey statue, which was bought as usual, and then waited, and waited and waited some more. We probably waited like 45 minutes or so, which when you have little kids is an eternity! Finally got sat, we didn't have to walk far though because they sat us at a round table right next to the dessert table, not thrilled with the area but I guess we didn't have to walk far to get our food:confused3

The first character to come over was Minnie, I was actually getting my food when she came over so DH had the camera but thankfully I came over in time to take the pictures, remember DH isn't so great with the camera :lmao:

Then Donald came to visit

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/195-1.jpg

The napkin twirlling celebration was next, of course my DN never got her birthday cupcake but that was the norm for this trip. I never made a deal out of it but when I made the ADR's I let them know we would be celebrating my DN's birthday. And each time we checked into a restaurant they knew about the b-day but only 1900 Park Fare recognized it. I'm not sure if it was because she was older or what but in the past 2 trips we had taken it was the week before Christian and Ben's birthdays so we celebrated them and at each restaurant they got a least a cupcake and at the character meals they got a card. DN didn't really care at the time so it was all good.

We finally got out of Chef Mickeys at a little after 8pm, I am sad to say that after several years of eating at CM on each trip, we may be taking a break from here next time. We all know that the food isn't steller but we go because it a little tradtion we've started and it's a great way to see the Fab 5 without waiting in lines. But after our meal here we've decided that it's time for something new!

Onto the monorail we head back into MK, the plan was to skip the parade and Wishes this night and do some rides.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/221-1.jpg

But when we entered the park, everything was already roped off and the parade was going to start soon, we came upon a handicapped section across from guest relations. It was almost completely empty and a CM said we could all fit in so the little ones grabbed a curb and we waited maybe 10 minutes for the parade to start!

Up next a million pictures of the Main Street Electrical parade and what the heck is going on with my kids?

Chef Mickey's looked like it was a lot of fun, but it would be nice if they could up the food quality for how expensive the dinner has become.

I think it is really weird how some restaurants will make a big deal out of celebrations and others won't even acknowledge it.

Have to say I agree with you about Chef Mickeys--I think that will be someplace we skip next time as well. We had terrible service last time we ate there and the food was ok at best. We were a group of 11 (I think we were crammed into a round table for 10, back in a corner--those in the back couldn't get up with out others moving for them!) We did have a better experience there for breakfast with just our family of 4!

I can't believe everyone forgot the celebration. And I have not heard anything stellar about Chef Mickey's in forever. We ate there way back in 2006 - it was for breakfast and it was okay. I think the Crystal Palace is the place for bfast though!

I so understand your bus issue. I use a scooter - and I have been considering driving when I go on my girls trip because I have such guilt on holding everyone up as I attempt to parallel park :) But, when we go in August, I really need to start reading the transportation threads because of an issue like this: We are going to Epcot one day. Then we might eat dinner at Boardwalk, and then go over to the Studios for pm xtra magic hours. How would we get back to Epcot to get my van?? I don't want to take the bus, but it might be easier - except for my guilt!!

Chef Mickey's looked like it was a lot of fun, but it would be nice if they could up the food quality for how expensive the dinner has become.

I think it is really weird how some restaurants will make a big deal out of celebrations and others won't even acknowledge it.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes
I agree upping the food quality would definately help out. Also I feel like the characters are so rushed at times, we ended up having Minnie and Donald come back around which was nice though.

Love Chef Mickey's!! Cute pics!

Thanks!

We had decent service this time around until it was time to pay and then we couldn't find the guy anywhere! To be honest, beyond the kids food I can't even tell you what the heck any of us ate. It's not that the food is horrible, it's just not anything that blows you away. I would like to try breakfast here sometimebut DH isn't much of a TS breakfast person and I usually can only convince him to do one per trip!

I can't believe everyone forgot the celebration. And I have not heard anything stellar about Chef Mickey's in forever. We ate there way back in 2006 - it was for breakfast and it was okay. I think the Crystal Palace is the place for bfast though!

Crystal Palace and Ohanas are both great breakfast places, I think next trip we are going to go for CRT/ I've been too cheap in the past but I want to take the little kids there before they get too old to enjoy it.

I don't think you should feel guilty about the scooter on the buses. The only thing I was stressing about that day was the scooter family came up right as the bus was coming and they all got on first and it was like 7 people. I was hot and cranky and just wanted to get on the bus which we almost didn't because of so many people. I actually don't llike the buses because even though so many people have strollers I feel guilty because I've got 8 people and 2 strollers, lol. Also with the handicap tag we have for Ben parking is alot easier in the parks.

Like many Disney families, ours has been looking forward to Cars 2 for a few months now so what better way to top off the movie than with a theme day? Original plan was to see the movie then have a theme dinner but after the movie we decided instead to have an early dinner at my DH's restaurant so I decided to make the following day a Cars 2 day!

But first Friday afternoon the kids and I went to the first 3D showing of the day!

This past week I have been making meals that coincide with the countries that appear in Cars 2. I know I'm that cheesy, but you don't understand how much my DS loves Cars ;) On Monday there was Japan, DH made his version of a Tepan Edo style meal, chicken, veggies (onions, zucchini and mushrooms) sticky rice and udon noodles. Tuesday was Italy, we had spaghetti and meatballs. Wednesday was Germany, we had bratwurts on the grill. Thursday was France I made crepes with strawberries for breakfast. And for the theme day we were doing England for dinner.

But first we started out with lunch, we had peanut butter and jelly "sushi rolls". This idea I got from Lisa aka MissMickee on these boards. They also had Cars pretzels, cheese crackers and fruit cars.

Both Dh and ODS thought these looked like turtles, lol. I think they would look much better if I had red apples!

Crafts were painting Cars posters and ceramic cars banks

In between crafts they played the 2 Cars Wii games that we have.

Decorations were a poster that the kids helped make and a few of the Cars matchbox cars that DS has, I swear he has like every Cars toy that has been made so I limited the decor to just some of the small cars.

Dinner as I said was our "England meal". We had fish and chips, spinach ravioli wheels and Cars shaped mac and cheese. For dessert we had McQueen cupcakes and donut tires.

I think the cupcakes are adorable! I totally love your theme nights! I'm hoping that I can get them started later this year in time for our next trip. :goodvibes And thievery is the best form of flattery right? Because I'm stealing your ideas. :lmao:

Anyway, just got back from seeing Cars 2 (and Green Lantern). I'd love to hear what you thought about the movie! (Obviously, spoiler-free - just general thoughts.)

I didn't know they were showing it in 3D! I'd love to hear how that turned out! :goodvibes

Anyway, love your theme night as always! :cloud9: Can't wait to hear more!

Steal away because lord knows most of my ideas have been borrowed from other people, lol.

I liked the movie alot, I did have to run 2 potty breaks and a popcorn refill so I hope I didn't miss any important parts of the film:rotfl: Also Ben dropped his 3D glasses towards the end of the movie and we couldn't find them so I had to watch without but it really wasn't too bad. How was the Green Lantern? That's another movie DS wants to see but considering the cost of the movies for a family of 6, we have to limit what we see. And we've already done POTC 4 and Harry Potter is coming up!

Thanks, my kids wouldn't let me get away without doing a theme night for the movie! It's funny you should say that about the movie because my ODS said the same thing. I asked him if he had figured out the end and he said he was surprised about that because aren't kids movies usually pretty straight forward?

Super job on the CARS2 night (or should I say nights?). What a great idea to celebrate each night with a different country! Boo agrees that the Lightning cupcakes were not his favorite to make either...but he loved making the Mater ones!

We splurged yesterday for the movie...we did the IMAX/3D show and it was $70 just for the tickets for the 5 of us! But, I have to say I really loved the movie. I had a few tears in my eyes at the beginning when they played tribute to Doc Hudson/Paul Newman. Doc was a favorite in our house...dh is restoring a car very similiar to Doc.

I am now questioning and ADR at Chef Mickey's...I was hoping to get breakfast there just to see the Fab5 and not have to hunt them down in the park.

DH ran potty interference for me. :lmao: We went to the drive-in, and we had to arrive 2.5 hours before movie start to get parking ( :scared1: and just barely!). So about 30 minutes before the movie started, I took the kids to the potty ... and had to wait in line for almost 40 minutes! The movie had started by the time we got back to the car (it literally JUST started - but missed previews). Halfway through, DS needed to go again.... so DH took him. I made DD wait until the break - where we had to wait in line again, and missed the first 20 seconds or so of Green Lantern (they had a 20 minute intermission between movies + previews). I posted on FB that I forgot to grab my potty FP's. :lmao::rotfl2:

I loved Green Lantern. My cousin and his date didn't care for it. DH said it wasn't bad (but not great either). DD9 liked the movie. It helps that Ryan Reynolds is delicious. popcorn:: But ... that's beside the point. :rotfl: I thought it had a good plot. It was a bit slow to get started. But I'd watch it again in a heartbeat.

(DS enjoyed watching DD's teacher in the movie - he thought DD's teacher was the Green Lantern. :lmao::rotfl2: )

We were lucky with the drive-in. It's cheaper there than seeing a movie matinae priced. It was $20 for the 4 of us to see two movies. (Well, it would have been $20 even if we left after Cars 2 - like most people.) We don't usually stay for the second movie, but I insisted - I wanted to see Mr. Delicious... I mean ... The Green Lantern. :rolleyes1

And Cars 2 was awesome! I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over and over. :lmao:

Wow $70 just for tickets? I can't imagine what it was after snacks. With snacks it was about $75 for the 5 of us. Love the Doc Hudson tribute, my DH got mad at me for telling him about Doc, lol.

If you've never been to Chef Mickeys I would still give it a go. I think breakfast is probably better than dinner also, the only complaints I read about food were from dinner.

They're a very family-oriented drive-in; and they host a lot of "scout" events as well. So If they do HP or T2, I can see them showing Cars 2 first anyway - if they're still running it. I am sorry to hear that your drive-in bypassed the showing though. :(

I don't blame you for putting your foot down on Hangover 2. It would definitely not be appropriate for kids. While I'll probably watch the 2nd one, it will be via Netflix. :lmao:

We rarely stay for the 2nd showing - even if its semi-family appropriate. I just couldn't bypass watching Mr. Delicious... err... Green Lantern though. :thumbsup2

I don't know if that's really a good deal or not ... Guess you need to weigh it out. If you're just seeing one movie, then maybe not ... but probably a great deal for two movies. And why are they charging you to bring in your own food? What if you don't want any concessions? We don't buy concessions - and we only brought in water last night. I definitely think its something to weigh out to see if its a great deal or not. :goodvibes

Also, check to see if they charge a fee to boost you if your battery dies. (Ours does not, and they make announcements before and after each movie that if anyone needs a boost, they'll do it for free - they even have it in writing at the gate, and on their info paper/menu that they give you upon entry.)

Ours must really offer pretty decent deals ... $7 for adult and $3 for kids 5-12 (under 5 is free). Sometimes they have $20 per carload as well. And some weekends, they do triple-features (same price). No fees to bring in your own food/beverages - and its actually encouraged. They do have a concession stand - and their prices are really good there as well. I think its like $4.50 for a large popcorn ... but you can get a burger for like $3.50 ... and I recalled seeing drinks a pretty reasonable price (for concession prices anyway). They have a full grill ... so burgers, fries, etc.

Let us know if you try out the drive-in and how you liked it? I think I love it best because I can control the volume. :lmao: I hate feeling deaf after seeing a movie in the theater. :headache: I've had to cover my ears too many times because the action scenes are just TOO loud. At least in my car, I can turn down the volume before I lose all my hearing and suffer from ringing sounds. :rotfl2:

The concession stand at the place here sounds about the same as yours, prices are not bad but I still think I'd rather just pay the $10 and bring our own snacks and drinks. Wow 3 pages???!!!!

Our rules are moderate volume (if you have woofer things, then LOW volume or turn them off), one parking space per car & family (so if you park, you can't pull your chairs/blankets out an sit in the next space, you have to sit in same space as your car). And that's really about it. I mean, common sense rules apply, but those are the only published rules - and they're on the marquee as well as the menu they hand you upon entry. I'd love to hear what kind of rules they make up to put in a 3 page brochure. Are you sure its a drive-in and not some kind of elitist camp? :lmao:

OH! No laser pointers at the screen, and headlights (etc) must be off during movies. Oh, and if you can't obstruct other's view (by like sitting on top of your SUV or something stupid like that). And if you park your vehicle in the "road", they'll tow it. (They do have parking for those who want to bring chairs and sit - kinda like overflow parking I guess.)

And then you either pay $10 to bring your own food in or buy from their concessions stand. It sounds like fun and might be something I'll try out this summer!

We love going to the drive in. We usually go with a large group of dh cousin's and their families and some friends and tailgate dinner before the first movie. Yes....we end up bringing a grill and everything. :rotfl: Then it is lawn chairs out the backs of the trucks/suburbans for the movie for the adults and the kids all get settled in the beds with sleeping bags and bean bags. Of course dh and his cousins all have adapters and we plug in portable radios...

I can't imagine paying to bring a cooler in...defeats the point of a drive in! :confused3 Our drive in is $8 for adults, kids (under 12) $4 and car seats are free (and yes that means booster seats too).

We get spoiled in the summer...our drive in tries to have the first show be something that is family friendly for the most part...if you have one close enough...try it out!

Shhh...I always stop in at the dollar store and get snacks...but we did buy 4 drinks which was about another $20...I did get a free small popcorn with the Regal Card so we used that too.

OK, I need to come to your houses and do the drive in there :lmao:, I think mine sounds like it may be more trouble than it's worth. Maybe I should just set the the big screen outside, break out the lawn chairs and get a movie from Netflix:rotfl:

I won't tell anyone if you don't tell them I do the same with Twizzlers :rotfl2: I don't think the concessions prices are too terribly bad at our movies though, it's $5 for a large bucket of popcorn with one free refill and $5 for a large drink with a free refill. My little trick is to buy the popcorn, bring small brown paper bags and split the popcorn up, that way the kids aren't fighting about who has the bucket. I've also thought of doing the same with the drinks, but usually I just bring juice boxes and water;)

I think I know the Drive-In you are talking about...does it begin with a B and sound like a dog's name? If so, we have been there once. I wanted to take the kids to a drive-in and we did enjoy it for the most part. Unfortunately we went early in the season so it was a bit chilly and the kids fell asleep in the back of the car. I think we saw some Jackie Chan family movie and then Clash of the Titans...but the little kids fell asleep before Clash started. I did read their rules and was a bit afraid...but it wasn't too bad. We did buy concessions but a warning...they charge you an extra fee to use your credit card for any concessions...so bring CASH ONLY! It was a royal PITA to charge our food! Maybe that's changed since this was last year but just in case. :):)

I keep wanting to try it again one night now that it's warmer...just afraid now we'll have warmer weather but deal with bugs and my kids are just bug magnets and I don't want to deal with mosquito bites the next day. We'll see! :confused3:confused3

That's the drive in:thumbsup2 I looked up reviews online and read that thing about the credit cards, which we totally would have been screwed because we pay everything with our debit cards, I hardly ever had alot of cash on hand.

The bug thing is a problem for me too, I can't step in my backyard without a ton of Off on me because I get chewed up. I wonder if it's very buggy there, my cousin goes often so I'll ask him.

And I can totally see my kids falling asleep too! My kids are asleep by 8pm on during the school year and at the latest 9pm during the summer so there is no way they would make it to the second movie. Right now they have The Green Lantern and Hangover 2. Obviously no way I'd let my kids watch the second!

We settled in to watch the parade, I was excited because it was the first time any of us had seen it. Our viewing spot was great, we had the parade coming straight towards us!

Ok get ready for a bunch of parades pictures, some not so great because I was trying to get the right settings and usually by the time I got it right, the photo op was gone :( Note to self.....read the camera manuel and figure out how to use it by our next trip :rotfl:

Sick of pictures yet? There's only a few more for this day so don't worry :rotfl:

After the parade we decided to skip Wishes and go ride a few rides. Everyone wanted to take a ride on Big Thunder Mountain in the dark so we headed over there. Of course Main Street was packed, both with people waiting for Wishes and herds of people making their way out of the park so I had everyone follow me through the stores to get through it all. We go through a practically empty Adventureland. Bypassed Aladdin's Carpets but decided to try The Jungle Cruise in the dark. We had a great captain with the usual corny jokes, my DH and ODS don't get why I enjoy this ride so much but I do :lovestruc Emily and Sam got to sit up front and only 1 other family got on with us.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/312.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/313.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/314.jpg

After the ride we decide to go on another favorite POTC. We were excited to see what new things they did for the new movie. The ride was a walk on, as we are walking, Sam starts to say he didn't feel well. I asked if he wanted to go back out and he said no, we continue to walk. All of the sudden he starts to get sick:scared1: I pull him over to a corner and he throws up. Thankfully there were no other guests around, DH went and grabbed a CM and told him what happened. CM said he'd be right back to clean it up and we could go. Of course DH and I grabbed the rest of the little ones and went to head out, what do ODS, DN and MIL do? Step aside of the mess and ride the ride of course! This bothered me, not so much the kids but the fact that my MIL didn't even want to make sure her grandson was ok bothered me. I know I was probably just in my mama bear protective mode but it bothered DH too. I took Sam in the bathroom and cleaned him up, somehow he managed to escape without any mess on him. We went back out and waited with DH and the other kids for the rest to finish the ride. Wishes had started so we sat at a table and watched what we could from there.

When DS, DN and MIL came out we said we were leaving but Sam got upset because he still wanted to ride BTM. Now you would think after just doing what he did, riding a ride would not be what he would want to do. But for Sam this is not that unusal, him getting sick after over eating, I should point out that he probably ate him weight in chicken nuggets at Chef Mickeys. He has done this at home and been perfecting fine afterwards. So as crazy as this sounds we stayed!

We made our way over to BTM, MIL stayed with Ben while the rest of us took DD on her first ride. She loved it of course, my little fearless girl! The ride was fun in the dark and I'm glad we decided to stay and go on it. And Sam still seemed to be fine so when they asked if we could go on one more ride I agreed. We headed towards my favorite ride, The Haunted Mansion, I was really excited about the new line and the new ending. We park the strollers and headed in the line.

Guess what then happens? Ben gets sick! Would you believe it? I then said let's go because I'm thinking maybe it's something other than just overeating. Once again, DS, DN and MIL wanted to still ride the ride and DH said they were more than welcome but we were going to find a bathroom to clean Ben up and then we were leaving. If they wanted to stay they could take the bus home. MIL acted all offended and said fine we'll go with you. This was one of the only few times I got annoyed with my MIL, I love her but she's not the most compassionate person, DH agrees with me so I'm not saying anything I wouldn't say to him;)

We head out through Fantasyland, where we found out where everyone was at, it was packed over there! Made it home, quick showers for the kids and in bed by 11:30. It was a very late for the kids, would we make it to Epcot the next day for rope drop?

1) Your kids are adorable!
2) I *LOVE* your theme nights, I am definitely going to borrow some of those ideas!
3) Your surprise reveal was awesome, I hope that I will be able to keep a secret long enough to do a big reveal! I already feel like bursting, and our trip isn't until April/May!

You got some good pictures! I loved the MSEP! I'll probably mention this later in my TR, but: It wasn't until during the parade that I realized my DD had no idea who Elliot was, she's never seen Pete's Dragon.. then DH tells me he hasn't either!!! So, it's on my netflix list now lol.
So sorry your DS got sick! Hope it wasn't anything more than overeating! I would have been annoyed with your MIL too!
And ohhh I bet Jungle cruise would be fun in the dark!! :goodvibes

Love the Elliott pictures. DD loved Pete's Dragon when she was little, we had to watch it over and over...now she swears she does not remember the movie at all.

Ugh...2 kids sick in 1 night and a MIL/DH/DS/DN who are unconcerned...YIKES you deserve saint hood! Although I would probably be the mom who tells them to get over it we are at WDW and on a touring plan...being sick does not fit into my plan! :lmao:

Thanks so much for reading!

Borrow away for your theme nights, if you haven't already seen it there is a great thread over on the families board full of theme night ideas! Isn't it hard to keep the surprise? I got such a great reaction that I would love to do it again someday but not sure I could keep my mouth shut for that long again:rotfl:

My kids have never seen Pete's Dragon either so don't worry, there was a poster in our room at Pop that had him on it and I had to explain who he was. It's on our summer list for Netflix too!

The Jungle Cruise was pretty cool at night! I wanted to go back the next day we were in MK and do it in the daylight but my ODS and DH said once a trip was enough for them, lol.

I love the MSEP pictures, such a great parade!! Sounds like your kids are troopers when they aren't feeling well. Hope the sickness faded quickly!!

Thanks, I loved the parade but must admit I think I like Spectro better! Yes my kids are pretty good troopers when sick, they get that from me though because my DH is a complete baby when he's sick, lol.

The next day was our first day at Epcot. It was also the day we were meeting up with some of DH's family. For those of you that read my PTR you know that I was a bit stressed about the last minute addition of 8 people, I had to scurry around and find a restuarant that would accomadate 16 people with less than a weeks notice:scared1: I'll warn you now that we didn't do too much this day, we were there all day but trying to tour with 16 people was not easy, especially for this former park commando girl. And I swear I think we stopped like 20 times because someone had to use the bathroom:rolleyes1

With our late night at MK and 2 sick kids I decided there was no rush to wake up early and be at rope drop, we could all use a little extra sleep. Of course a "little" more meant waking up at 8am, everyone knows there is no REAL sleeping in at Disney :rotfl: I got the kids up, fed and dressed. Thankfully the boys were both feeling great this morning and were raring to go. Sam had a spot on his foot where it looked like his Crocs were rubbing against it so I went to have him wear his sneakers and realized I forgot to pack any socks for him and Ben:scared1: My MIL went down to the food court to get coffee and looked for socks at the gift shop but all they ahd were baby socks. Sam said he would be ok for the day and I figured I would be able to find something later at Epcot for him.

Even with our "late" start, we actually ended up getting to Epcot earlier than I thought, just a few minutes after rope drop. Can you guess what the first order of business was? Photopass pics of course! :lmao:

DH and Christian then took our tickets and ran over to get FPs for Soarin. We didn't need them since we have GACs for the boys but we were going to give them for DH's family to use so we could all ride together. While they did that I spotted someone who has alluded us the past few years. Finally we'd get to meet Daisy! Stitch came up a little ways away too but I don't think anyone really noticed him because he had noone around him so after Daisy we got to spend a good few minutes with him.

While we were visiting the characters my MIL went over to Mousegears and found Sam some socks. 3 pairs of socks for get this, $16 :sad2: Something I definately would have been too cheap to buy but she said they were on her so we kept the socks. If it were me I would have had DH run to Walmart later after the parks and bought socks;)

DH had told his cousin that we would meet at the entrance to Spaceship Earth so we couldn't really go anywhere far and it was still going to be a little while before they got there so I asked the kids if they wanted to go get their Mickey Ears. Would you believe that it was our 3rd visit to WDW and no one had gotten ears yet? Emily has a pair that she got at the opening day of our Disney Store but thats it! So I took the little guys over to Mousegears while the rest waited for the family. Sam choose the Haunted Mansion ears much to my delight (remember it's my favorite ride) and Emily choose the princess ears. Ben declined getting ears, I pushed for the cute Cars ones since he's likes Cars so much but he didn't want any.

By the time we were done shopping and made our way back to SSE, DH's family had just showed up. This is a good time to introduce the rest of our group. There's Aunt Joan, MIL's sister, her DS, his DW and their 2 DSs (20 and 15). Then there's Aunt Joan's DD, her DH and their DD (20). We said our hellos and decided to ride Spaceship Earth, the wait said 20 minutes but it felt longer. I was the odd man out since DH, Ben and DC's DH sat out of the ride so I had to ride by myself, hence the solo future picture :rotfl:

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/336.jpg

After SSE the FPs were ready so we went over to The Land to ride Soarin. We split up so we were on 2 different lifts, the kids and I got in row one so no dangling feet:woohoo: As always we loved the ride! Next up was Living with the Land, I have never actually riden this so I was excited for something new! The older boys ran over to TT while we did this one for snag FPs for later.

We all really like the ride, even DH who I thought would be bored out of his mind! Next up food! We were all hungry by this point. Where would we eat, is there any CS place that 16 people would agree upon?

I SO agree about the challenges of touring with a large group. We had 13 for a couple of days on our June trip last year - and I found out that DH's family was joining us ON THE DRIVE THERE! So, I am kind of reliving that stress through your TR.

I love the Mickey ears that your kids picked. Only my youngest has a set and his is from the Harmony Barber shop so the most basic.

Your pictures from the Land ride are great.

LOVE the Mickey Ears! I think we need to get some new ones next trip. My boys each have some from the Harmony Barber Shop...they say My First Haircut on the back...and the boys are now 11 and nearly 7! They were 1 when they got their first haircuts at MK!

That's on my wish list for the next trip! Though I have to say I was really tempted to get a pair of those patriotic ears myself this trip!

13 people is alot too, I'd love to see how you managed! Its so tough because we only see this family for weddings, funerals and when we go to WDW! It's nice to visit with them but I found us doing alot of standing around talking instead of doing what I really wanted to be doing. I had to have alot of patience this day!

I wish that I had held out and gotten DD's hair cut there. The boys were older when they took their first trip (6, 5 and 4) but Emily was only 1 on her first trip!

Those patriotic ears were really cute, maybe they'll still have them on your next trip!

Where to eat? Where to eat? We had 16 people to please so of course the only logical place was Sunshine Seasons! By some miracle, DC was able to snag us some seats while we were on Living with the Land, obviously we were all not at one table but we had about 5 tables near each other. I sat down with the kids while DH went and got our lunches, once again no food pictures, sorry maybe next time I'll be more on the ball with this:rolleyes1 DH had the turkey sandwich, I had a reuben which was really good, Christian had the pork chop meal with mashed potatoes, Ben and Emily had mac and cheese and Sam had the chicken leg. Christian loved the pork chop, I don't make them too often at home so he was quite happy!

Before we left the Land I made my way back over to the little Soarin gift shop, I had one must buy for the trip, a Mickey garden gnome! I saw this on our last trip and loved it but forgot to go back over and buy it so I told DH he better not let me walk out of there without buying it this time! I made my purchase and asked them to send it back to Pop for me:)

Since I was leading the way, I asked if everyone minded going over to ride Nemo, they all agreed so off we went. Stopping first for the obligatory picture.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/373.jpg

After the ride the watched the dolphin for a bit then headed out, I didn't want to push the kiddie things too much so I figured we come back the next day in Epcot and do the Bruce area and Turtle Talk. Note to self, never say you'll come back and do something because you usually don't :headache:

Next we made a stop into Club Cool, the cousins had never been in here so it was fun to trick them all into the Beverly, even my MIL who seems to forget every year how nasty it is, lol.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/380.jpg

The kids wanted frozen cokes so we got them each one and then went over to Mission Space next. Only a few of us were riding this so the rest went in the exit area while Ben and Emily played and waited. I am one of the ones who sat out. I don't know what it is about this ride but I get so nauseous on it! I've riden it on every trip but finally said after the last time there would be no more return missions!

Next up was Test Track. I love this ride and was really looking forward to Ben taking his first ride on it this year. On our last trip he made it all of the way to us actually boarding the car and he freaked out. After watching lots of You Tube videos he said he was going to ride it this year but once we got there he changed his mind so he went off to the exit to wait with my MIL and her sis while the rest of us rode. This was Emily first time she was tall enough to ride and she just loved it ! Once again my fearless girl!

We left TT and decided to head over into the WS. As we were walking I noticed Duffy! I know not everyone is in love with this bear but my kids had seen him online and were excited to visit with him, but since we had all these people I didn't want to make them all stop so we passed him by, promising myself that we would come back to him on day 2 (remember this one). We also passed up the Fairies because I just knew we'd get back to them also:rolleyes1

Our first stop was Mexico, with all of these people my stress level was high and I was in dire need of a margarita :rotfl: While DH got in line to buy them the kids had fun trying on hats and being silly.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/384.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/385.jpg

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/387.jpg

We got our margaritas (mine was mango, YUM) and everyone was ready to move on, Sam really wanted to ride the Three Caballeros ride but the rest of the group was ready to move on so Christian stayed back and they rode while we moved on to Norway. Bypassed another character Mexican Donald, you know what I was thinking, we'll be back to see him!

Walked through Norway, passed on Maelstrom and made our way to China. I don't think we did too much here, I have no pictures from either of these countries so I honestly have no idea what we did. Like I said in a previous post we did alot of standing around and talking!

Next was Germany, remember I said that I had to scurry and get a TS restaurant for all 16 of us? I was able to get 2 reservations for 8 at Biergarten, one at 5:00 and one at 5:15. I went over to check in and asked if there was any way that they could seat us near each other. The CM at the podium went to check and came back to tell us that if I could get all 16 of us at the podium she could get us sat in about 10 minutes. Of course everyone was spread out in Germany so I got DH's DC and told him to help track everyone down with me.

Would we find everyone in time? Would we all get to sit together?

I can't remember all the comments I wanted to make, but one was: I love the magical pixie dust you had at HS when the CM brought you around to the exit so your DS could meet Woody--I love how he runs with open arms to him!:yay:

Also, your meets with Tiana/Naveen and Ariel/Eric were great. Eric was such a cutie on top of being so sweet when your DS "shipwrecked" his stroller!:cutie:

Sorry to hear the boys were sick the one night, hope there are no repeats of that!

I love your theme nights--your so creative!!

Looking forward to the updates...Have a wonderful July 4th!!:woohoo:

Sunshine Seasons is a great place when looking for something everyone agrees to. When we eat in the WS I can't even get all 6 of my family to agree on one CS place so we end up all eating at different places.

I promise to be back tonight with the rest of our Epcot day. My goal was to update every other day as to not drag this report on, my favorite TRs to read are the ones that give me something new to read often so I want to do the same!

But in the meantime I want to introduce the newest member of our family!

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/beccone/007-11.jpg

This is Lincoln, he is our 9 week old German Shepherd. We adopted him after a long tedious process from a German Shepherd rescue organization. We just got him yesterday and even though neither DH or I got much sleep last night we are all very excited to have him.

The younger boys just started their summer academy yesterday and Christian has baseball most evenings so we are keeping busy. Thankfully we are getting away next week for a couple of days to visit with DH brother and his family. We were supposed to also take a few days at the beach but now with Lincoln we're going to move that to August, we don't want to leave him with a dog sitter just yet for more than a couple of days.

You also may notice that I have a new ticker! DH and I have been talking about our vacation plans for next year because of course I am still trying to push a family vacay to Disney but he wants to do the beach. But he also wants to take some days, just the two of us to go somewhere. He wants to do Vegas but Vegas really isn't my thing. I also pointed out that he's going with his friends in January so we should go somewhere different. So I convinced him to do Disney in October for the Food and Wine Festival for a few days! Not sure yet how we are going to swing this without the kids, maybe just not tell them where exactly we are going?:confused3 Regardless I'm thrilled, not sure where we are staying just yet, I'm thinking a monorail resort, DH loved the Poly when we went to Ohanas and I am pretty sure it wouldn't take much persuasion from me to get him to agree to it! :cheer2:

So like I said I'll be back tonight, I have to go this morning and restock the fridge and pantry, the kids are eating me out of house and home being out of school :rotfl:

Although there are moments where I could feel like I could send my kids away for a month, I could never do a week away from the kids, that's why we're only doing like 3 days. But believe me there will be plenty of mommy guilt since we are at the kids favorite place! A couple of drinks at the F&W festival should take care of that:rotfl:

We did get Lincoln from the MAGSR! He is still on the site right now but listed as Pip, he was one of the 7 puppies they just got. He had a sister at the foster home he was at and it took all my strength not to cave and get her too! We had a dog who was half German Shepherd half Lab that we got from the SPCA when my oldest was little and he was the best dog. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago but when we decided to get another dog we wanted to get another shepherd because of how great they are with families.

I never thought I would take a trip without the kids but we have only gone away a handle of times and those were just over nights so my DH feels like we are long overdue for a few nights away. Also I would never do a trip if I wasn't going to be taking my kids somewhere for a vacation as well. We are already planning on getting a house at the shore for a week next summer so they will get a vacation. I have neighbors who go to Bermuda every year and leave their kids with their grandparents, thats the kids only vacation all year, a week at the grandparents :sad2:

Congrats on the new puppy - a great addition to the family! :thumbsup2

We spotted the one dolphin swim by on the tail end of the Nemo ride, then he was in the tank when we got off. I've seen them before in there on past trips too. I love dolphins as do my kids, we've spent countless hours watching them at the National Aquarium where we have annual passes to.
