Hell-ooooooo DISpeeps!! We are back with the story of our third...YES THIRD!!...trip to WDW without our husbands and without our kids! :dance3::dance3: Not that we don't miss them terribly, and think of them often while we are away... but really, it is SOOO much fun that we just can't stop ourselves from doing it over and over again!

Our first year, we stayed at AKV, in a concierge level studio- just four of us, Lonnie, who was once upon a time my MOH and college roomate; Cammie, who I met on the DIS; and Kara, an axe murderer of unknown origins, also known as Karajeboo on the DISboards.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%2009/2009_052006summer0043.jpg

Year number two, we had all of our original members, plus two new lovely additions- Lovinlife, aka Pam who Kara & Cammie knew from here, and my dear friend from home, Joan, also called Wannabeadismom. We stayed in a 2 bdrm villa at BCV-

Well, this year, we lost two- Pam was unable to join us, and Cammie couldn't come either...:sad1:. But then, we got two NEW ones!! Laura -CRdismom who we knew from guess where, and another dear friend of mine from home- Evie! We were all in for 4 nights in a 2 bdrm Boardwalk view villa at BWV!

We were all up and ready to go at the crack, heading to lovely Newark airport for our 7:45 am flight on Continental. Evie's hubby Tom was kind enough to wake up early with us, and schlep us all to the airport- gotta love a good husband!! Thanks, Tom! We got there a little early, because the month before my hubby had flown to Orlando on the same flight, and found out that now you can do the first class upgrade for $69 if you arrive early enough and there's availability (it used to be that you could upgrade online when you checked in, but no more). Anyway, we all hit that first row, and were happy to do the meet and greet for all the other oncoming pax....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1466.jpg

Ok, well HER we knew from town (how crazy is that???) but we greeted all the rest too, I can promise you- we tend to lean on the friendly side... Joanie and I were ready to go!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1467.jpg

Especially when the flight attendant INSISTED we try his bloody mary. Hey, who are we to argue? Even if it was 7:30 am!! We did, however, follow it up with a pretty yummy breakfast-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1468.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1469.jpg

Evie, who is a nervous flyer, was thrilled to be seated next to an off-duty flight attendant- she was AMAZING, calmed Evie right down! We all enjoyed her company- she was a fantastic person. :goodvibes

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1470.jpg

Two and a half hours later, it was time for the first thrill ride of the trip- ORLANDO, BABY!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1472.jpg

We made a beeline for the DME...which had a HUGE line!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1473.jpg

That's ok- that can only mean one thing....time for ROPE DROP! For the stinky yellow Mears bus- BOO!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1474.jpg

It was the strangest thing- they never showed "THE" movie- they just put on some Disney cartoons. What up wit dat??? :confused3

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1475.jpg

And then the prettiest sight of all-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1476.jpg

And as never before, we hit the DME jackpot- we were FIRST!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1478.jpg

We checked right in, with a CM who had all the enthusiasm of my left largest toe, and Evie went over to pick up her 5 day park hopper-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1479.jpg

Which would, of course, end up being upgraded to an AP later in our trip. (The husbands of Scotch Plains love me- their wives go on a little 5 day trip, and they all come back with an annual pass! :rotfl:). Some BWV lobby pics-

This is supposed to be Lucy the Elephant from Margate, NJ-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1482.jpg

Or, it could be the Coney Island elephant- but that would be very un-Disney, so we'll stick with Lucy. :thumbsup2

I did take more than a few pics in there- but it's SO PRETTY!!! And....it was my first trip HOME since buying some BWV points this year....so you know I was in love!

Up next....hmmm...what should we do first at 11:55 am??????

Loved your intro.
You must of been getting the first pictures up, while I posted.

This year's race with "Danskin" was Mother's Day Weekend.
"Trek's" race was suppose to be Labor Day weekend, but they cancelled with WDW and moved it over to Clear Water--FL. The whole point was doing the Triathlon at WDW. So now I am shooting for next May.

Comment-AirTran used to have upgrades for $39 online. We figured it was cheaper to upgrade than pay for luggage. Luggage is included with the upgrade. Anyways, AirTran changed the fee to $99.

You have to be a Dis'er to get this.:rotfl:

I've been waiting for this and I MUST remember to get the "fake" monorail shot on my next trip. It was kinda hard this time since I was traveling solo!

Love the BWV pictures. Love the theme. Its so Steele Pier 1960's and reminds me of visiting there with my grandmother. (Well - not in 1960 because even I am not THAT old, but you know what I mean) She lived in South Jersey and we drove down there every summer from the time I was about 7 to the time I became a surly teen.

I know you all probably had a wonderful time and I can't wait to read all about it.

And yes, MY tiara fits just fine. Jeff and Ally comment on it quite often. After all, what is a tiara but half a halo? Right? And SOMEONE needs to stay strong to keep everyone in line on these trips. It's a tough job, but..... oh who am I kidding? I had a BLAST as usual and can't wait for next year's DISmoms Dream cruise! But first we need to get through this year's craziness huh?

OK, need to go upload my pics..... talk amongst yourselves.....

First class is the only way to travel! :). Great start! :rotfl: that you inspired AP purchases. Disney should give you a commission.

Let's see...you're at the Boardwalk and it's 11:55...I vote for a quick walk over to World Showcase for a slushy/margarita/adult beverage of choice. :thumbsup2. Oh, and I suppose some lunch. ;)

yikes....already behind. I'm here.

First off, who knew 3 years ago I would get on a plane and go visit people I met on the internet! let alone the DisMoms. I giggle because I had my screen name before I even knew of the DISmoms.

I had met Kara twice, once on a family trip to WDW in '08 and then this spring when I was in Atlanta and I drove up to have dinner with her. The others--nope never met 'em. But now I am sooooo glad I did. Wonderful ladies. We all come from that magical place....New Minnflorialina.

Flying from Minneapolis I got in later than the upgrade queens. I had to leave here around 4 am :scared1: and when you live half way to the north pole, it is really dark! But as I was pulling out of the cold garage in my nice cool Florida clothes I realized I don't have sun glasses. :confused3 Where on earth does one get sun glasses at that time in the morning...why of course the gas station.:rotfl2:

Got to the Mpls airport and it was still early. I was flying southwest so no upgrade mojo here but I didn't have to pay for bags. It was so early the bar hadn't even opened. I thought that's okay I can have a drink on the plane...ummm no. While on the flight from Msp to Chicago, there was HORRIBLE turbluance. It was to the point where the flight attendants were told to sit down and there would be no beverage service for the flight :scared1: Yeah not a good thing. But got to Chicago safely. I wasn't switching planes so once the Chicago passenagers got off the plane I was able to move to the 2nd row. There was beverage service on this flight!. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/lauraschue/036-1.jpg

Soon I was touching down in sunny Orlando. Kara was to fly into the gate next to mine about 5 min after me. So ran to the potty and on the way out but who to I see. ---uuuh lost that photo~

We by pass the fruity drink stand and head down to ME. Ummm why is the bus taking so long.
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/lauraschue/038-1.jpg
We waited for ever for that bus to let us on board. The line for the POP bus was huge and I think 3 came and left while we were still waiting. But soon we were on the bus, texting our counter parts. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/lauraschue/039.jpg:yay::yay:
Yes I nearly cried when we pulled in to BWV. Not like that didn't happen at any other point of the trip. :rolleyes1

I say it is Lucy, too, That's what I said when I saw it on our trip and my Dad agreed, we are from Philly and my Mom used to live in/near Margate

Loved your intro. Thank-you!! That means alot coming from you- you read them all!!:goodvibes

I am so sorry- I have a lot of friends who do that tri here at Sandy Hook in Sept. I hope next year stays at WDW.:wizard:

Comment-AirTran used to have upgrades for $39 online. We figured it was cheaper to upgrade than pay for luggage. Luggage is included with the upgrade. Anyways, AirTran changed the fee to $99.

I have flown AT once, to my MIL's in FLA- and took advantage of that at the gate. Bigger seat was nice.

You have to be a Dis'er to get this.:rotfl:
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1472.jpg

Yea, I guess so!! :rotfl:

:banana:WOO HOO!!! Never fear, I am here.....complete with all my inane comments, a few pictures (though I can't quite compete with Ellen), and quite possibly a kleenex or two as I struggle through life!!! (or maybe I'm just loony tunes :confused3) Looking forward to reliving the laughs:yay:!!!!!

I'm looking forward to it to, Joanie!! :rotfl2: Love you- see you at 1, just finished your macaroni!

Marking my place and will be back to read in the am. Can't wait to hear about your adventures!

YAY! Thanks for joining in!

Was wondering when this was going to start! Can't wait to read along.

Hey Sally!! I have been soooo busy lately (and will continue to be until school ends) so that accounts for the delay somewhat- also that it was making me sad that I won't be back for 6 months (well- 5 months now! :goodvibes See? Flying by!). Not that that is so terrible AT ALL, but this DVC thing has put me in a every few months mode- used to be every 2 years before. LOVE my DVC!!!!!

Woo Hoo!!!!! You have started your report!

So excited . Now I gotta go get caught up!

Hi Chris!! So happy you found us!! :dance3:

I've been waiting for this and I MUST remember to get the "fake" monorail shot on my next trip. It was kinda hard this time since I was traveling solo!

DIS up, MEK!!! Hand that camera to some businessman on the tram!! :rotfl2: Usually, they are the ones laughing the hardest at this when we do it! :rotfl:

Love the BWV pictures. Love the theme. Its so Steele Pier 1960's and reminds me of visiting there with my grandmother. (Well - not in 1960 because even I am not THAT old, but you know what I mean) She lived in South Jersey and we drove down there every summer from the time I was about 7 to the time I became a surly teen.

I think BWV are gorgeous- i absolutely LOVE the decor, especially in the lobby (well....except for creepy Paul!) That's a very sweet memory you have of your Grandma- :lovestruc

I know you all probably had a wonderful time and I can't wait to read all about it.

We had a blast, as usual! :goodvibes When you posted this, I had just finished catching up on all YOUR fun in YOUR TR, but was too tired to write a reply! I thought it was kind of funny that you were reading about my girlie trip while I was reading about yours. Anyway, I'll go post over there now-

I miss my DISmoms!!!!!!

For the third year in a row, I laughed, laughed, and laughed...... We also cried, and we had a lot of "Me" time...... :rolleyes1

Let's just say, at least in my case, nerves (I'm a very nervous flyer!), alcohol, premenopausal stress, and maybe a little touch of something, caused us all to need a little private time here and there.......

And when I was texting Cammie during the trip, I told her we were "a bunch of hormonal, menopausal golden girls!"

Cammie quickly brought to my attention that we are "just a few years away from ECVs!"

Next TR may be titled "DISmoms on scooters.... Golden Girls mark 20th trip!"

My camera is all wonky and I have actually lost some pics. Really weird.

But let me do the honors here......

Princess Ellen.... our fearless leader and holder of the DVC points..... but that's not the ONLY reason we love her......

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/P5140612_face1.jpg

Princess Lonnie..... despite that fact that she is tall, thin and has a great rack (yes, I really went there!!!!), I love her anyway and feel like I've known her forever!!!! And she taught me about tea with mint to keep me regular..... :rotfl:

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670_face0.jpg

And of course, the original McSparkleson.... It's ME!!!! And just for the record ladies, I hold some I'm Too Sexy photos for every one of you so be careful what you post this year!!!!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1649_face2.jpg

Princess Joan..... there is no mascara that she can't beat... at least not this trip!!! Love you girlie!!!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670_face5.jpg

Princess Evie.... So glad to have met you this year!!!!! Again, I feel like I've known you forever, you are sooooo funny and you added so much to our group!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/P5140612_face3.jpg

And Princess Laura.... I guess I really have known you forever, at least in DIS land! We first officially met 3 years ago (almost to the day!) and then again a few months before this trip!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1704_face2.jpg

This was the first year for me flying in for our annual trip, having moved back to SC this time last year. I am NOT a good flyer, so thanx to my new friend, "Mr Blue Pill" I was able to get on a plane and make it safely to Orlando.

I stepped off the plane and Laura was waiting for me, luggage cart at the ready, just in case I over self medicated. Not to mention, those luggage carts would have helped a bit making our way back to BWV a couple nights!!!

My flight was smooth and I was sooooo happy to be so close to my happy place! After living in Jacksonville, FL, for 3 years, and going to WDW every 6-8 weeks, I was seriously jonesing for the World!!!!

Like Laura said, our wait for DME seemed to take forever, and then once on the bus, we sat there forever waiting to fill the bus so we could be on our way.

Before long we were pulling into Boardwalk, racing THRU the lobby and on to the International Gateway of Epcot.... after all, we had some DISmoms to meet!!!!!!

I will be back with my sister and her family, and my parents, to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary, so I knew I would be upgrading to an annual pass (sorry, Ellen, you don't get credit for this one! :rotfl2:) so I got that all squared away and then Laura and I were on a beeline for........

The Ditch....... there were three DISmoms waiting for us there, and they had quite a head start!!!!!!

Kara -

I can totally relate to the Menopausal Golden Girl statement. ;) Sometimes I think I am the poster child for menopause gone horribly wrong. OK - so maybe I am exaggerating just a little. :rolleyes1

Loved your update and your pictures of all the moms. You guys are a such a fun group. We had a lot of solo time on all girl's trip, too. It was nice, because we all just naturally went different ways at different times.

Can't wait to hear all about the trip. So... are you taking applications for any more DISMoms? I'd like to apply LOL! You girls all get the whole silly Disney thing and seem like alot of fun to hang out with. I started making trips to the world in 2004 when my brother moved to FL. From 2006 - 2009 or 10 DS and I had AP's (DH was not a big Disney fan but I did get him to make a couple of trips. We've since separted but he still bought us our passes until DS was going off to college and we gave them up. College boy isn't so interested in Disney with Mom anymore. Cant blame him.) I'm hoping to take my Dad in Oct. Mom just passed away a few weeks ago and would never get on a plane but Dad will so my next trip will be Columbus day weekend and the next couple of days to visit Disney and Universal (Dad is a big Harry Potter fan) but I would love to take a girls trip at some point. I have a few girlfriends who would love to make the trip but just can't for financial reasons so I would love to have some girls to hang out with.

For me, I like to call the first one not good enough, the second is plus 10, I'm in big trouble, the last is back to not good enough. :rotfl:

And I don't know about you bein in anything resembling a HALO, Kara.....:upsidedow

:thumbsup2. Oh, and I suppose some lunch. ;)

DING DING DING! You win!! Where else would we go? :thumbsup2

Upgrade to 1st class for $69??? Which airlines?

Continental/United. Continental is the BIG carrier at Newark airport. But it used to be you upgraded online when you checked in- and for less. The first year I did it (when I went with just Loni) it was $49!!!!! :worship: Things change CONSTANTLY now because they merged with United, so who knows what's next? :confused3 I will say that the breakfast was the BEST one I have had in first class- very yummy!:thumbsup2

LMAO I think there must be a seperate trip report for only those that were in world to see.. like what happens in the world stays in the world.. except for on a secure password protected photo sharing site.. not that I would know anything about that LMAO

on the chocolate milk right LOL

Flying from Minneapolis I got in later than the upgrade queens. I had to leave here around 4 am and when you live half way to the north pole, it is really dark! But as I was pulling out of the cold garage in my nice cool Florida clothes I realized I don't have sun glasses. Where on earth does one get sun glasses at that time in the morning...why of course the gas station.
I find all my designer gear at the local AM/PM lol

There was beverage service on this flight!.

We by pass the fruity drink stand and head down to ME. Ummm why is the bus taking so long.
UMM why did you pass on the fruity drink?

We waited for ever for that bus to let us on board. The line for the POP bus was huge and I think 3 came and left while we were still waiting.

yikes....already behind. I'm here.

First off, who knew 3 years ago I would get on a plane and go visit people I met on the internet! let alone the DisMoms. I giggle because I had my screen name before I even knew of the DISmoms.

I always think that's so funny!! Like you had a premonition when you were picking your name!

:rotfl: New Minniflorilina...

The first year I did it (when I went with just Loni) it was $49!!!!! :worship: Things change CONSTANTLY now because they merged with United, so who knows what's next? :confused3 I will say that the breakfast was the BEST one I have had in first class- very yummy!:thumbsup2

HI! :cheer2: The stick kids were a big hit- bartenders remembered us the next year with them! :rotfl:

Not that bartenders don't remember us without them...

Now I want to book a United flight just to try the upgrade!:thumbsup2

I'm sure you DISmoms gave the bartenders plenty of reasons to remember them!:lmao:

Not to mention you traumatized the poor slushy-makers :sad2:

Sorry, just couldn't help myself with that one. But those slushies are sooooo good. It is a great way to start off your day at EPCOT! Can't wait to see the rest of the day.

I miss my DISmoms!!!!!!

I miss them too!!!! Well, except for the ones I see/talk to every day. Kind of hard to miss them.

Speak for yourself!!

Cammie quickly brought to my attention that we are "just a few years away from ECVs!"

I hope not!

Next TR may be titled "DISmoms on scooters.... Golden Girls mark 20th trip!"

I think we have a few more Ditch trips to write about before THAT TR gets written!!

My camera is all wonky and I have actually lost some pics. Really weird.

What is with the lost pics? :confused3

But let me do the honors here......

Princess Ellen.... our fearless leader and holder of the DVC points..... but that's not the ONLY reason we love her......

What are the other reasons??? Now that you've made me feel old and incontinent, I really need to hear the good stuff! :rotfl:

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/P5140612_face1.jpg

Princess Lonnie..... despite that fact that she is tall, thin and has a great rack (yes, I really went there!!!!), I love her anyway and feel like I've known her forever!!!! And she taught me about tea with mint to keep me regular..... :rotfl:

Yea- my girl Lonnie DOES have a great rack- and she is so wise in the ways of thunder tea....

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670_face0.jpg

And of course, the original McSparkleson.... It's ME!!!! And just for the record ladies, I hold some I'm Too Sexy photos for every one of you so be careful what you post this year!!!!!

HEY! Don't forget who holds the KTTW for the cruise!!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1649_face2.jpg

Princess Joan..... there is no mascara that she can't beat... at least not this trip!!! Love you girlie!!!!

I LOVE Joan! She is the best crier- although I was right there with her at the Walt movie...hmmm...maybe I am hormonally challenged, too....

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670_face5.jpg

Princess Evie.... So glad to have met you this year!!!!! Again, I feel like I've known you forever, you are sooooo funny and you added so much to our group!

I feel that way, too!! But I guess I've known her for 15 years, so maybe that's why...We need to get her a screen name so she can comment!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/P5140612_face3.jpg

And Princess Laura.... I guess I really have known you forever, at least in DIS land! We first officially met 3 years ago (almost to the day!) and then again a few months before this trip!

LOVED meeting Laura!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1704_face2.jpg

Glad to see you had your priorities straight!

Not THAT big...was it???

Love you and miss you, Kara Jean- hope you'll post again soon- :worship:

Well...next year is the cruise, so that one is a little different, and ya never know about what will happen after that! :goodvibes Ya know, when I got my points, I asked a LOT of girlfriends if they wanted to come with me- and none of them could go- except, of course, my Lonnie! But I asked her first anyway, so that was good! But Joan was also asked- and a year later, after me talking about it non-stop, she was IN! And two years later, Evie said yes!! I had asked her originally, too! So you never know what maight happen with those girls of yours- keep at 'em! Maybe we will ALL be there in 2013! :thumbsup2

I've been watching for this & here it is page three already! Subbing.

HI!! So happy you're so excited about our trippie!! :goodvibes

So excited you started! Although our trips were at the same time, they were quite different! We did the Scavenger hunt & Destination D. They were really fun, BUT really hectic. We didn't spend much time having fun & relaxing in the parks which was difficult!

Your first pic is of my good friend Betsy!!!!

Can't wait to hear more!!!!!

Terri

Betsy is GREAT!! She did the 5th grade directory for me this year-they were staying across the lake at BC- we texted back & forth while we were there and even saw them walking around the BW one morning when we were hangin out on our balcony! Did you see her? How was Destination D? It looks like you had a very different vacay from us, tho!

Ummmm I have been waiting fior this TR and I go missing for a few days and then you sneak right in!! :rolleyes1
Have some catching up to do then I'll be back to report :goodvibes

Tracy

Here we are!! Hi Tracy!! I'm so happy you're here! I'm having fun reading about your trip, too!!

I am joining in. I am going to back to read now.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1534.jpg

We didn't buy anything this trip, we were just preselecting what we would get later. Which is REALLY hard to do, by the way!! But Evie and I were REALLY looking forward to those Crab Tostadas!! We looked in the Christmas shop, and shook our heads at the pickle tree-

Yeah, what a start!
Necklaces (:rotfl2: = lanyards) for all the girls - hope they do better with them than the boys on your last trip. ;)

So funny you "opened" the slushie stand! Only DISmoms can do that! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

Fortunately, DISmoms understand the principal behind the necklaces- teenage boys, not so much! :headache:

We like openeing the slushie stand!! We just would like to open it earlier!!

Why doesnt the slushie stand open at 11 with the rest of WS? :confused3. I bet Disney is leaving some good $ on the table not selling for that hour!

Not that we have a problem or anything :rolleyes1 but FYI the ditch doesn't open at 11 either. Hey, it's vacation!

Looks like there were some unique characters around for Pixar Weekend!

No kidding!! Slushies!! It's what for breakfast!! Get with it Disney!! Yea- very cool character opportunities that Pixar weekend. I heard on the Podcast that there were a TON in the exhibit area-

Subbing! Thanks for sharing your fun :goodvibes Looking forward to reading about your good times. :surfweb:

Hi! I'm so happy you liked the Cupcake report- I really need to finish it in the next day or two! The necklace thing was a nightmare on that trip- NOT the FUN part, for sure!

That's true, you were....hmmm...well, I'm the leader, and I was the one dragging you around to all the drinks, so you were pretty much helpless! Blame me!

The difference is that last year you banged on the door and this year you ripped the door OFF! Dang hormones!

HEY! Hormones or not, it was HOT! The 12 pm policy stinks! Don't they know it's always 5:00 somewhere?

Slushy then rita - I am starting to see a trend here. Excellent pictures. So funny because last year you were texting me the same slushie picture and I was dying because I was still at work.

Let's get this party started! :cool1:

Yea- we don't waste any time- I remember that last year!!

:rotfl: Last year, I gave up on the Moosehead and got the slushy.....this year we knew better than to waste valuable slushy drinking time!!!! ;)

Aaahhhhh.... the Ditch....the haven from the heat and hole in the wall with all things good and tequila driven....we bellied up to our favorite bar, and were greeted HOLA from our favorite bartender in WDW- Bulmaro- who remembered me from my last visit here in OCTOBER!!!! LOVE BULMARO!!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1544.jpg

Hellooooooooo Rita!
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1542.jpg

Evie & Joan were given a sample to try-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1543.jpg

And decided on Avocado Ritas- which, we found out, are the Rita with the most alcohol (until I got an extra shot in mine;))

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1545.jpg

And then we ordered the food we had been dreaming of- Crab Tostadas.

Umm....no we didn't....because they are no longer on the menu.

WHAT??????!!!!!!!???????

Seriously- no more cooking in the Ditch. Only the cold stuff is left- salsa, guac & ceviche (which is called Shrimp Cocktail on the menu & is now a little different than before- in a good way). We were SOOOOO BUMMED! The bartenders don't seem too happy about it, either- neither do ANY of the patrons- so we collectively complained (very nicely) to the manager. You know- maybe if enough people cry to her about the lack of crab in the ditch she'll be able to convince the Disney dining Nazis to bring the FREAKIN TOSTADAS BACK!!!

Anyway, the ceviche looks like this-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1546.jpg

Bigger shrimp in a bigger glass- it was delicious! The guac is like this-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1547.jpg

I really, really love Kara. She is without a doubt one of the best people I have EVER been lucky enough to know. I think Laura and I hurdled toddlers and anyone bending over to tie their shoes, as we took a LEFT when we entered via the International Gateway and heading to Mexico.... Just sayin.....

So excited for Evie- her vacation was beginning!!!
Umm I believe her vacation started when she left the kids and hubby at home and boarded the plane and got her 1st DOTD lol

We made a quick stop in that first store to buy lanyards for those without them. Look who else was shopping-
OH SURE, for the gals its lanyards. But poor Timmy and Tyler have to wear necklaces.. no wonder why they ditched them

Next....we made a Beeline for France! Of course!! we need something to drink while we walk over to get our first Rita of the trip in the Ditch! :rotfl: Sadly, we had a few minutes to wait....not very patiently...
well you were partched... and they must have known the DIS moms were coming they boarded everything up lol

Ok by me- I was on the phone with DVC Member Services making an ADR at Rose & Crown for my November trip- because it dawned on me that today was my 180 day mark!! It was hard enough juggling my phone and my camera without adding in a slushie! But soon, those babies were ours-
such a talented multitasking mom lol.

Evie's first impression? Slushies are goooooooood! We strolled after these guys-
at night they are better they give you the glow in the dark stirrer thingy

And then step into another one, where I started putting props on the models....
bonjour madam mademoiselles

And made friends with a passing rodent-
omg how awesome.. wonder if he will be on the Dream/Fantasy since they have a new restaurant named after him.. did you ask him LOL

We saw this beauty, who i had never seen before- she was part of the Pixar weekend characters, I believe-
whats pixar weekend?

And kept walking to...WHOOPS! Gotta run! I'll be back with more soon!

such a tease lol

Yeah, like shouldn't it open at 7am when it's noon in France????? :confused3
why is it not open all the time like the slushies at 7/11???

YUM.... pure soft gooey caramel surrounded by chocolate-
im not big into caramel but those all sure look yummo

We didn't buy anything this trip, we were just preselecting what we would get later. Which is REALLY hard to do, by the way!! But Evie and I were REALLY looking forward to those Crab Tostadas!! We looked in the Christmas shop, and shook our heads at the pickle tree-
you just window shopped after all that.. its like taking the kids to ToysRUs and saying nah were just looking LOL.
ha i like the pickle ornament story.. cute idea

Finally, we made it to Mexico!! The Mariachi was there to welcome us!!
Rolled out the red carpet and everything for you guys huh! lol

LOVE BULMARO!!!!
hmm wonder how he could ever forget a fun girl like you lol

Hellooooooooo Rita!
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_1542.jpg
oh that looks soo good at im recovering from my "sick" day :rolleyes1

Evie & Joan were given a sample to try-
Shots shots shots

And decided on Avocado Ritas- which, we found out, are the Rita with the most alcohol (until I got an extra shot in mine;))
note to self get the avocado rita.. yet not sure i can get over having a rita smooshed in my glass and not on my plate!

And then we ordered the food we had been dreaming of- Crab Tostadas.

Umm....no we didn't....because they are no longer on the menu.
NOOOOOOOOOOOo ive never got to try the food there darn it.. keep complaining people so that i can get my grub on when I go back.. someday...

And just as we were diiging in, there was a tap on my shoulder, and all h*** broke loose! Laura and Kara were there!!! I have to say, I completely burst into tears- I was so excited to meet Laura- really and truly excited!! And Kara? Well....
ok going to sound like a sap but I even got watery eyed seeing pics LOL its like the gangs all here lol

I really, really love Kara. She is without a doubt one of the best people I have EVER been lucky enough to know. We are like peas & carrots, me & Kara. :lovestruc Joan says she & I just "clique"- we have a special thing. I agree. So I got the HUGEST, TIGHTEST hug from my favorite axe-weilding girlfriend, and then....
awww

5 DISmoms down...one to go!
that 1 lone dismom has A LOT of catching up to do... she better double fist at the slushy stand

La Cava posted on their facebook page that the tostadas are coming back!! Definitely for Food and Wine and possibly "forever.". :yay: Sorry you didn't get to have them...guess you need to go back!!

So the avocado 'rita has the most alcohol? I am definitely trying that one next time! ;)

Isn't it great how the DIS has brought so many friends together? :goodvibes

Yay! You all made it to the Ditch! (minus one dismom of course) I made my first stop at the Ditch on my trip in February. It is a must. I got the cucumber rita it is was good! I want to try the blood orange Rita next. I am more of a sweet girl when it comes to drinks, is that one sweeter? Did any of you Dismoms try that one?

Great update! Just read on FB (probably from you) that the tostados are coming back. (Oh wait - I just saw that C posted that right about - doh) Good thing. I'm surprised you didn't start a revolt.

I did not know the avocado rita had the most alcohol. I will put that at the top of my list for next trip ;) I had the jalapeno and it was seriously really, really good. Can't wait to go back and have another.

You guys all look so happy. And you all smiled and posed. Awesome!!!!!! Off to a great start!

I'm jumping on board! I can almost taste those slushies and ritas...almost!
GO DISMOMS!!:woohoo:

YAY!! Thanks for joining in the craziness!!

The slushie cart opens late?! That just ain't right.

The Dismoms should have a reserved spot at The Ditch. :thumbsup2

EXACTLY!!! I like the way you think! Hey- if I end up being able to go to that NJ DISmeet, do you want a ride? I am waiting to see what that morning looks like baseball-wise.

The jalapeno rita looks good - will have to try one!

It is SOOOO refreshing!! And they can make it as spicy (or un-spicy) as you want. It's really the cucumer rita with a couple of slices of jalepeno thrown in- YUMMMMMM.....

I cannot wait for those slushies & a blood orange margarita!! The posse looks pretty darn good in the Ditch!:cool1:

Too bad about the food being gone, although the ceviche looks pretty good.

SO glad the food is coming back- it really is ALL THAT! As Joan said, that blood orange one is very sweet- if that's what you like, you will love it! :thumbsup2

You all look so happy together...it's nice to see. I will, however, totally cop to my envy of you all!

We are so happy together- we were DELIRIOUSLY happy in the Ditch, so, SO happy that our time together in WDW, after much anticipation, was finally beginning!!!

I'm reading karaboo's trip report from her Eastern cruise. She's a hoot. I can see why you and she get along so well.

Kara is hilarious...but she is so much more. She has such a good heart...I just LOVE that Kara!!!

I have never been in that particular bar....how is this possible? :confused3 I am now adding this stop to our Epcot visit in July. Which margarita did you like the best there?

Oh, yea- you definitely need to go to the Ditch- it is inside the pyramid, on the right as you come down the steps. My favorite is the Jalepeno- but I would like to try that blue one next time. Some of them are very sweet, and I tend to stay away from those, but people love them as well- it's all about what YOU like- I suggest standing at the bar & talking to the bartender- they are all VERY friendly and helpful. And they give samples sometimes, too, if you are standing there when they are making the Rita for someone else, especially if they think you will like it. Which is why it is BEST to stand at the bar in the Ditch!! :thumbsup2

I miss my DISmoms!!!! Love you guys! I'll try to add my take on events (like how you took the long way around WS to get to the Ditch. :rotfl2::rotfl2: Lovin the Forrest Gump, and the fact that you got that-:rotfl2: And we took the long way because we wanted to go to Morocco....there is always a method to our madness, you know....such a tease lol

why is it not open all the time like the slushies at 7/11???

REALLY!!!!!!They should have refillable slushie mugs for purchase- with dispensers all over the place!!:rotfl2:

their gps must have been off.. kind of like how mapquest tells you 5steps on how to get out of your neighborhood before starting on the directions to where your going. lol

Ok- I read this first thing yesterday (all of your comments) and i was :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:. Thanks for starting my day off with a BIG bunch of laughs!!! And yes, for us it's lanyards...for the boys, it's necklaces!!! :rotfl: If I ask them where their lanyards are, they are like, "Lanyards? What's a lanyard?" Which always brings me back to the "WHERE ARE YOUR NECKLACES???!!!!!!" See? :rotfl2:

Also- I never got a glow in the dark stirrer thingee in my slushie- where'd you get that???

You are so freakin' funny, Drea-

I am so in!!

It is a must-do! Since my first visit, i have only missed it on one trip- the one I took right before this one with my boys. You will LOVE the Blood Orange if you are into sweet drinks-

I know I had the blood orange last year....as Laura said, it is quite sweet! But, if you like that in your Rita, it's the way to go!:goodvibes

Oh, I chewed that MGR's ear right off about it- as I'm sure a million others did. Not to mention the fact that if you are serving really strong drinks and tequila shots, shouldn't you serve some food that's at least a little more substantial than salsa???

I did not know the avocado rita had the most alcohol. I will put that at the top of my list for next trip ;) I had the jalapeno and it was seriously really, really good. Can't wait to go back and have another.

It's very different, that avocado one- very creamy...

Anything from the ditch is yummy. I had the avocado one-yummy. I need to pull my pics and get them loaded so I can do my best to fill in but the lake calls. The food there isn't as good as the ditch. But oh the tears when I met everyone. The moon must have been in some orbit because I cried more this time than i have in a ling time.

Joan and I jumped around forever. It was like
Seeing sisters you haven't seen in forever. It was magical how we all just clicked and got along. My crazy stayed tucked away for most of the trip. I swear Disney is the only place that I find sanity otherwise I am a big flake who can't tell time lol ;) I can say I love each and everyone of those mom soooo much. Just got done reading podsnel's (or as I just learned her real name is Ellen) TR with 2 of her boys over Spring Break and enjoyed it so much I thought I couldn't miss this one! Although, all this talk of this 'rita character is maing me unusually thirst!

This was the first year for me flying in for our annual trip, having moved back to SC this time last year. I am NOT a good flyer, so thanx to my new friend, "Mr Blue Pill" I was able to get on a plane and make it safely to Orlando.

[QUOTE=anewmac;41372556]Ditto!

I also found it odd she would take Viagra prior to flying - although I can there could be confusion since directions for both meds could read "Take 1 tablet by mouth 1 hour prior to expected activity" :lmao:!

Okay when we finally roll into the Ditch, after beating all our followers down with a stick and running over all the small children, the TEARS started. I mean tears :confused3 why tears? Because we are all so darned happy that is why. I had talked with Ellen on the phone a handful of time and never spoken to Evie or Joan before except thru the wonders of Facebook so it was a mystery what everyone was going to be like...insert scary music here...:rotfl2:...So when I saw them it was like seeing family that you hadn't seen in year. Litterally Joan and I jumped hugging for like five minutes. Ellen just stood there--laughing at me I thought and then I realized she was soooo happy we all got a long.

I think I had the avacado 'rita. I had never had one before. How you ask could one not have a 'rita in the ditch when they are wolrd know? My family is the answer. Seriously, we hit the 3 amigos ride but the kids were melting down last October and there was no hope for me to go in. Darn family! Oh well I knew I was coming back. I like the avacado. It was really smooth and the hybiscus salt was AWESOME! I will say the shrimp in the shot glass was spicy, but then again we consider black pepper an exotic spice in Minnesoder. :goodvibes Seemed like it went so fast but we flew out of there on a mission to get back to BWVs to meet Lonnie and to award all of the moms the covetted DISmom pin.
http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/lauraschue/dismom-2.jpg
(got a ton of questions what the deal with that special pin was--highly recommend creating a pin if are doing an extened day trip. Shirts are great but this is something that you can wear every day...zazzle has a great site for them )
Once back at BWV, the fun continued. I think I started the trip off right by making everyone laugh with the goodies I pulled out of my bag..cups, pins, chocolate, special treats galore...GO GIRL!!! I knew I was with the best girls ever because they got my teen-aged boy sense of humor (yup..i'm a teenaged boy when it comes to humor some times...LOL:eek:
Now I know Miss Ellen has wonderful photos to share with us and I am grateful for that because even though I had two cameras with me I didn't mangage to take but a hand ful of photos. But the ones I have are AWESOME!

Have you ever posted on here at length from your phone ? It's painful. I am waaay ahead of my keyboard! Anyhow I missed you gals!

For those not in the know I do get to make a cameo later on! Just busted my way in and made myself a DisMom! And I am actually official too-I have the button to prove it!!! (thanks Laura!!!). I did not, however, have

I will admit it, I am a DISmoms’ groupie, vacationing vicariously through DISmoms’ trip reports. I anxiously wait for tickers to be added to each one of the DISmoms postings knowing I will soon be laughing my head off at the antics of the wild and crazy women. :cool1:

Umm, perhaps I should say, I am not a stalker just a bored middle-aged lady who is too busy to create her own DISmoms group but still has the desire to travel with friends who do not call me “Mommy” or “Sarah’s Mom”. Although, in reality, I love being called "Mommy" and "Sarah's Mom".

So here is my question to all of you groupies, do you spend as much time on Facebook as you do on Disboards? I know I do not.

"What can I get for you?"

Well, HELLO!!!!! It's now officially DISmoms Round 3 for me!!!!! :cool1:

I was so excited to be reunited with Ellen for the third year, Joan for the second year, and meeting Evie for the first time ever!

We all clicked, as usual. It's like Ellen keeps bringing these sweet strays to our DISmoms trips, and we love them all! Please, mom, can I keep her? I promise to feed her, and walk her, and give her lots of tequila!!!! Please please please?????

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1649.jpg

After we got a a little silly, and shed a couple of tears, some more than others.... no names will be mentioned...... OK, Joan? See? I promised not to mention your waterworks!!!!, it was then time to head out and get checked in to BWV and meet up with Lonnie!!!

On the way back.....

Great update ladies!!!! Love the DIS mom pins! So cute!

Love the 2BR villa at the BW and the view is spectacular. OK - I REALLY need to stay there for F&W 2012 (because I won't be going for 2011 - boo hoo!)

Tequila and water works - I think I would fit right in as one your strays!:lmao:

I consider myself a Dismom groupie also!I love these reports & I would love to do a girls trip sometime! I spend lots more time here than on my FB page!:rotfl:

Yes, I have plenty of photos- I'll try to update this morning-

We all loved the pins SO MUCH!! :yay: They were a GREAT idea! :yay::yay: And the goodie bags were awesome- especially the tassles...:rolleyes1

Love those pins! What a cute idea! :)

Yea, Laura really made us happy with those!!

:lmao: Black pepper is super spicy around here along with pepperoni pizza in my family :rotfl2:

Timmy is like that- I think maybe we need to ship him WEST! :rotfl:

Well ladies lOok at what the cat dragged in!! ;). I'm so glad I haven't missed much yet. I am still plodding away on my sad cracked screen phone ( why? Oh because I didn't get one of those ultra cool iPhone cases ya'"ll have) and still no computer though I hope to have that back this weekend.)

I did not, however, have
A tiara...but being the semi-red headed stepsister of the group...not sure if I've earned that yet! (lol)

I'm so looking forward to reading!! :)

Well, it's about time!! That really stinks about your computer and your phone- if you take it to an Apple store, they can fix the cracked screen. You have an iphone, right? Anyway- hope you have your computer back this weekend- we all miss YOU, TOO!!!

Laura gave us all pins, and these adorable cups filled with candy and tassles... well....tassles for some of us. But sometimes, what happens on a DISmom trip, STAYS on a DISmom trip...so there will be no pics of THAT!! :rotfl:

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1671.jpg

I get this every time I'm in Italy. Or even just in Epcot..... ;)

Aren't we a fun bunch? Must be why all the hot Italian waiters lined up to be our server.

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670.jpg

OK, DISmoms, time to post photos of YOUR dinner!!!!

After dinner, we needed some cold aire to cool us down after the Italian Stallion got us all worked up. How about a little Test Track?

What? Lonnie and Evie are afraid to go on it with a full tummy? That might be a good call. You two are SO SMART!!!!!

But first, what's the best way to get through the line quickly?

Well, do the Single Rider dance!!!!! Sing with me! "All the single riders, Al the single riders..... put your hands up......"

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1678.jpg

I seemed to have some good single rider mojo going. Laura and I were one row apart so I asked the gal next to me if she'd trade places with Laura and now we were no longer single riders????

But I still did the dance......

When we got finished dancing... and riding Test Track, we met back up with Lonnie and Evie, and had them convinced that Laura had a bit of Minnie Soder bad luck. And left it on the lap of the child next to her.......

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1680.jpg

Pitiful, right? No, the photo, not the story!!!!

Not sure when Lonnie and Evie figured out we were just messin with them?

On our way back to our bachelorette pad, we stopped for a pint o ale (you MUST speak British when saying "pint o ale"!), cause how often do YOU get to pass through England on YOUR way home?

The house is still asleep. Thus far this morning I have emptied the dishwasher, made yogurt, washed a load of clothes and fed the four-legged child. Now it is time to sit a few minutes and catch up on the DISmoms' TR and Kara's TR. Yea, morning entertainment. But before I start reading I wanted to share, we live in a beautiful old (built 1900) money pit, ummm, house with lots and lots of woodwork, fading/pitted, in need of refurbishing woodwork. And since I spend all our spare money on Disney trips it is left up to me to strip , stain and revarnish the woodwork. I have finished stripping , staining and varnishing the attached woodwork in the bathroom and now must stop for a couple of weeks.... because, IT IS TIME TO PACK FOR DISNEY!!!! OK so we are not leaving until next Sunday but I will not have time to pack during the week and since I have started having nightmares about leaving behind my camera, tickets, suitcases... I need to start packing.

Off topic here, are any of you dealing with budget cuts in your k-12 schools? If so, would you mind dropping me a pm about what your school board is doing to reduce the budget. Thanks, and thanks dismoms for letting me use your TR to seek information.

Viral, as in we are contagious????? Cause that might be the truth!

And of COURSE I had cocoa..... but due to the heat, it was chocolate milk, through the twisty straw that Joan brought for me. After all, I wanted to keep my tiara/halo on straight...... :rolleyes1

And now Pryor is gone too! I am just so sad. And living in SC in the middle of the SEC, I am so tired of listening to everyone. Cause guess what, its going on EVERYWHERE!!!! We just had a coach who was such a great role model and a good father figure to his kids that he didn't want to turn them in. I LOVE JIM TRESSEL!!!!

Hey! It's well known and well documented here on the DIS that France has the hot female servers and Italy has the hot men...... just sayin..... ;)

Yea...and soon it's gonna be well known and well documented that that is up for debate...FWIW, there ARE hot waiters in France...they're upstairs at the Bistro and they are a great big BUNCH of hotness!!The house is still asleep.

I hope you have a FABULOUS trip!!! We'll be here when you get back!

I just had to pop on and say what a great TR you ladies have going! You can just feel the energy from all of you! There is nothing like a girl`s only trip...glad you all had such a great time and can`t wait for more updates!!!

Hi there!! Yea- we're a fun bunch- so glad you like our TR!!:goodvibes

I'm just getting caught up since - just got back from a DW trip followed by 4 nights on the dream :cool1: I wanted to thank you ladies for recommending the jalapeño marg at the Ditch. I like a little spicy and DH loves lots of spicy. He thought I was crazy for ordering the jalapeño and he ordered the original (and their original margs are SO good too) but I told him they came highly recommended (and we'd already had a couple originals on this trip :rolleyes1) so I wanted to try something different. You ladies ROCK :worship: I now have a new favorite drink at the Ditch!

And I'm only on page 5 so maybe you mention this somewhere but I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone stopped at the pizza window for a sangria on the way to Epcot. Once we discovered those sangrias we had to get one each time we walked to Epcot.... Because it is such a looooooong walk, it was pretty hot and we didn't want to get parched along the way!

Back to catching up!

I can't believe that for the 2nd year in a row I was at WDW at the same time as a DISmoms event and never got to cross paths with you! At least this time we weren't staying at the same resort, literally under each other's noses.:rotfl:

Loving your report so far...can't wait for more!

So impressed you were able to get the 2Bdrm BWV with the view at the 7 month mark.:worship: Now that is why I love travelling to WDW in May!;)

I'm sooooo SAD!!!! :sad1: We were in Epcot when you were on the 13th- How did we miss each other??? The next time I will be there is Nov 9-14th. And then May 4-6 before the Dream cruise May 6-10. Just to be clear. So this NEVER happens AGAIN!!!

And I love going there in May, too- it's perfect! :cloud9:

By the way- very excited you are buying DVC- it's vacation insurance. You will ALWAYS get to go back- that's the #1 reason I LOVE my DVC!!! :lovestruc

OMG! I think I am a Dismom groupie too! Maybe we need dismom group pins:rotfl2:

As always loving this trip report. The pix of BWV are making me sad as my March trip is long over and I have a long way to wait until Dec. I need these updates to keep my sanity. Looking forward to reading. Sounds like you had a great trip (not that I am surprised).

That's how I feel!! I have a looooong time until November!! Usually I get a mini fix in the summer by going to HHI and staying at the Disney resort, but this summer instead of taking a 14 hour drive to our vacation, we are taking a 30 minute drive to Bayonne and getting on a big cruise ship for 9 nights. :cheer2: But I am REALLY sad about HHI-REALLY sad.... So happy you like our adventures!! Thanks for reading!!

Sorry for the loooong hiatus, Tyler was graduating from 8th grade, and between that and 3000 things a PTA President has to speak at or attend in June, I fell a little behind. But school is out, our 25th anniversary has been celebrated (three times- although once was in an ER, but I'll explain that later) and I can do a little update before 75 people arrive for a memorial service in a few hours (I'll explain that later, too-). Sooo.....

We DISmoms, all SIX of us, walked back to Epcot-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3419.jpg

And over to Italy for our dinner at Tutto Italia (you know- for the hot waiters Kara said would be there. :upsidedow). On the way, we visited with a pretty new friend-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3420.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3421.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3449.jpg

We checked in, and waited to be seated-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3422.jpg

Of course, at a table with only the HOTTEST waiters... Right, KARA?????? Very quickly, we were given these-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3423.jpg

And then we all studied the menu-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3424.jpg

Some studied harder than others....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3426.jpg

And admired this-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3428.jpg

Well, you know we had to have the-Grand Antipasto Misto - Selection of various appetizers and specialities, generous platter served family-style. - $29.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3429.jpg

And Lonnie had Insalata Mista - Made with endive, arugula and radicchio salad with citrus vinaigrette. - $12.00 This was a yummy salad, the dressing was very good.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3430.jpg

I was fading a little bit (that first day with the early morning flight gets a little rough around dinner time) so I ordered one of these-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3431.jpg

Espresso Coffee Martini - $12.00 The drink that multi-tasks...it wakes you up AND knocks you out! :rotfl: Cheers!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3432.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3433.jpg

Sorry about this one- I couldn't get my shadow out-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3434.jpg

Then came our entrees. I had Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese $25

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3436.jpg

It was good, but very rich and heavy on the nutmeg. Someone else had this shrimp risotto, which I can't find on any online menu-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3437.jpg

Here's Farfalle - bowtie pasta, Italian prosciutto ham, peas, parmesan cream $23

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3438.jpg

And Penne Caprese - with crushed tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil $24

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3439.jpg

And i know Evie had Arrosto Di Vitello In Porchetta - veal roast, mushrooms, potatoes $29

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3440.jpg

I have to say, I thought her's was the most yummy- I wish I would have ordered it.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3441.jpg

After our entrees, it was time for some Lonnie humiliation! We always make her wear the Birthday button, and she HATES being the center of attention, so yea- it's pretty fun for all of us watching her crawl under the table at every restaurant! The hot waiter sang to her-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3444.jpg

And left pretty quickly-

What a great update. You ladies look like you were having a great time. :cool1: Epcot is just beautiful during Flower and Garden. I hope I can make a trip this year. I would like to take my Mom and Aunt.

Ellen - I hope all is well with your family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

On a happier note. I am down to one kid at the house and no DH. (He is in Southern CA with his DM). Just sent a kid off to camp this morning at 4 am so I have a whole week of freedom.

We're all fine- thanks for asking! Just very, very glad it's summer!

Enjoy your quiet house-this week Sean is off between regular & summer school sessions- so I kind of have the opposite at my house this week! :rotfl: Although I get to sleep late this week, so I am REALLY loving THAT!!:cloud9:

Yummmm....I can't remember what I had for dinner at Tutto.....but I know I had some prosecco and maybe some wine ;) This was my first time since Alfredo's and it was just kind of meh to me. Would eat there again but not a huge fan. I far more prefer the waiters and food at Via :rolleyes1 We have a very large Italian population here with excellent restaurants but not with the Via waiters ;)
I never thought of getting a drink for that long walk to Epcot :rolleyes1 What a brilliant idea  and one that I will put to the test in October. One can never have too much wine at F&W :rotfl2:

I feel EXACTLY the same way about Tutto's- I'd go back, but it's just Meh. We also are surrounded in this part of NJ with Italian EVERTHING and EVERYONE....so Tutto's is a little too Olive Garden for me. We totally went for the waiter. You can see why.

I ALWAYS have to have a plan- even if I don't follow it to the letter, I need to have the security of it- mainly because I don't want to think too much while I'm there. If I make most of the decisions before-hand, it feels like more of a vacation while I'm doing it, I guess. Plus, when I have people relying on me, I don't want to let them down.

You have to be somewhat of a planner for WDW, anyway- there's only so much flying by the seat of your pants you can do there if you like TS and are bigger than a couple. KWIM?

Currently I'm obsessing over ST Marteen for our cruise next month. Other than going to Maho to see the planes, I haven't nailed anything down- a big part of me wants to check out one of the restaurants in Grand Case, but that's on the other side of the island where Orient Beach is, which I would also like to see- but I really can't go to a schmancy restaurant in a bathing suit....and then there's the Lolos which sound good too, but more casual....see?? OCVP!!! All the way!!!:rotfl:

On our walk over to Test Track, Lonnie started saying why she wouldn't be riding this ride- she hates it, it makes her flashback to a car accident she had in her teens, it makes her sick...the sky is blue... Lonnie just really, really hates going on most rides. Part of it is that she does get motion sick on occasion. The other part is that she has a laundry list full of reasons why she won't go on any given ride. (I have been begging her to come on Soarin since we started coming to WDW together, and could never get her on it (which made me CRAZEEEEE because I KNEW she would think it was the coolest thing ever!). Well, she FINALLY rode it when she was in WDW with her hubby last winter, and guess what? She freakin LOVED it!! SHOCKING!!) So anyway, tonight she was not going on TT, and then, to my shock and dismay....newbie Evie, who assured me she would ride anything, declined as well. She said her stomach was just too full, and she was afraid she might get sick.

On Test Track.

I'm sorry, I guess I must be half in the bag everytime I've ever gone on TT, because I seriously can't recall the corkscrew, upside down, double steep super dip on the ride. :confused3

Well.....we decided to have a little fun with Lonnie & Evie when we came out- so I marched up to them with Laura, and we told them they were RIGHT!! We should never go on such a scary ride OR swim for 2 hours after a meal!! Laura puked all over some poor unsuspecting child!! :rolleyes1 OMG, it was a freakin SCENE, man!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3469.jpg

Sorry girls- but wow, was that a whole lotta fun for US!! :rotfl2:

After TT, it was just about time for Illuminations- so we headed over to Canada. We actually had a reason why we wanted to watch from there, but we'll explain that later. Afterwards, it was EMH- but we were all REALLY starting to fade. But not so much that we couldn't stop for a nightcap in England! I had a Pimm's Cup-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3474.jpg

Thankfully, Laura's tummy was feeling much better... We left and made a quick stop in France...where we met the most AWESOME CM, SOPHIE!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3475.jpg

What a doll- we would run into her again before we were done on this trip. She liked us, too- in fact, her co-worker took a pic of us & Sophie with THEIR camera. Wow, I guess DISmoms really ARE celebrities!! Anyway, if you ever run into Sophie in France (the Disney one, or the real one!) please tell her the DISmoms say hello.

Back to the Boardwalk, another friendly CM (well, kind of CM- he works for Big River) was leaving work as we were trying to figure out how the heck to get INTO the BWV. His name was SHIP- and WOW...was he a BIGUN!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3476.jpg

He was very powerful- he actually made Lonnie SHRINK! He said he was what...11 lbs when he was born? BIG UN! He was a lot of fun- and we made sure to see him again on our little visit. WHich really after this involved us randomly yelling his name off the balcony whenever we saw him outside working at BRG- sometimes even when we didn't see him- since we were right above that restaurant.

Well, that was ENOUGH for our first day- and once we found our way back to the villa, it was nighty nite sleep tight until the morning...

We needed to rest up, we still had so much to do!!:dance3:

OK, now let me tell y'all what REALLY happened that night....

Yes, Ellen is correct, we went back to Epcot. And then a giant panda bear came skateboarding through World Showcase, scooped me up on his shoulders and carried me back to his spaceship where he presented me as an offering to his leader, and then, and then, and then..... oh, wait, you wanted to know about Tutto Italia, right?

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1677.jpg

Well, Tutto Italia was very nice. And I love me some farfurgnugen.......

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1674.jpg

And I don't care what the others say, I think our waiter was very hot. And since my HOttie McHotness seems to be avoiding us on our DISmoms trips.... wait, jumping ahead.....

Anywho, maybe the other DISmoms are anti Italianites?

Besides, maybe he was just intimidated by THIS!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1670.jpg

Happy Birthday Lonnie! Thanks for a taste of your birthday dessert.... NOT!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1676.jpg

It doesn't matter how much I eat anywhere in WDW, I'm always up for some TT! And the only thing that upsets my stomach on DISmoms trips is all the laughing!!!! Seriously, I may actually lose inches from all the muscles contracting so much!!!

One of the things that made me laugh a LOT on this trip was Evie. She has this..... "thing" for want of a better word. As an actress, she had a way of getting into character for her roles, and it was to follow people and mimic their walks. Yes, you can only imagine the fun she had in WDW!! And I was quite entertained.

Imagine if you will...... a man with a limp, caused not from an injury, but from poor posture, flat feet, and a little extra junk in the trunk. Next thing you know Evie falls in behind him and within 10-12 steps she has the walk down PERFECTLY!!!!!

OMG, seriously, Evie doing her "thing" + a few drinks with the DISmoms = Depends moment. A common occurrence.

As we made our way back to FW to hit TT, we tried to imagine what Lonnie's excuse would be for THIS one..... "and one time, at band camp......" but no, I think she's saving that one for later.... :rolleyes1

Hey, I'm not the ONLY one who can Beyonce with the best of em!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1678.jpg

I could have sworn that I rode with Laura on this, because even though we rode single rider line, I just asked the person in line with me if they would switch with Laura (cause they looked like a lonely single too). But in Ellen's pic, I'm not there?

Oh wait!!! That's cause I jumped out when Laura started barfing!!!! Now I remember!!!! And THAT is when it blew back into the kids lap behind her. Wow, must have had one too many cocktails cause I almost forgot how that all went down!

Poor Laura.....

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1680.jpg

I just can't play practical jokes. I can't! I laugh too much!!!! So while Ellen and Laura were going on and on and on about the poor kid that Laura spoiled, and how angry the mother was, yada yada yada, Joan and I were crossing our legs and hoping we didn't have a moment..... I'm guessing that Lonnie and Evie just thought we were laughing at Laura????

All I know is that I was starting to wind down. All my anxiety about flying, plus a lot of giggling, and I was starting to crash.

But never too tired for R&C, eh? Oh wait, "eh" is when I'm never too tired for a Molson or Labatt's. I guess I was never too tired for a pint o ale. (You MUST talk like Mary Poppins now).

Cheerio!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1683.jpg

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1684.jpg

Hey, wonder if the birthday girl will give me a taste of that????

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/DISmoms%202011/DSC_1685.jpg

Nope.

OK, how was it that Evie and Laura walked ahead of us to the room? Did we stop somewhere along the way? I just remember Ellen telling us that there was a secret door to get into BWV and we thought we'd found it. But when you go into a back alley and find the garbage outside the door, the bums sleeping in corners, and you can hear the sound of gunshots in the not so distance, I think you are not meant to be using THAT secret door.

Ship thought so too.

"Can I help you?"
Ellen: Yeah, I'm podsnel from the Disboards, maybe you've heard of me? Anyway, I read that there is a secret door to get into the villas and I'm trying to find it.
Ship: Well, this isn't it.
Ellen: But I'm podsnel from the Disboards, are you sure? Because I read that I can use this door.
Ship: I think you are confused.
Ellen: Confused? No, but I'm podsnel from the Disboards? Does that get me anything?
Ship: Security!!!!!!!

OK, so I exaggerate a tiny bit. Ship didn't really call security.......

All I know was that as Ellen was negotiating with Ship, Joan and Lonnie and I (was it the three of us?) were S L O W L Y backing out of the alley, and looking frantically for.......

an open bar?

Oh, snap! All closed up for the night! But ship was kind enough to chat with us for awhile and make us all really miss our lovely children. When he told us he was an 11lb baby, and his mother did NOT have a c-section! :scared1: And he was an OB/GYN nurse? Or PA? I can't remember. But he had some sort of medical schooling and he did some time in the OB/GYN rotation. So he felt he could talk to us.

Or maybe he was just trying to talk us out of the alley. And nobody gets hurt.......

Yeah, that's it!

But poor Ship. If only he knew that he should NOT have told the DISmoms that he worked at the Boardwalk Brewery. When our balcony was directly over the entrance........

Up next, DISmoms have a drink!!!!!

1ok, now let me tell y'all what really happened that night....

ok...here we go...
yes, ellen is correct, we went back to epcot. And then a giant panda bear came skateboarding through world showcase, scooped me up on his shoulders and carried me back to his spaceship where he presented me as an offering to his leader, and then, and then, and then..... Oh, wait, you wanted to know about tutto italia, right?

kara jean!! Step awaaaay from the tequila!! You know you start hallucinating after that third shot!!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1677.jpg

well, tutto italia was very nice. And i love me some farfurgnugen.......

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1674.jpg

and i don't care what the others say, i think our waiter was very hot. And since my hottie mchotness seems to be avoiding us on our dismoms trips.... Wait, jumping ahead.....

Anywho, maybe the other dismoms are anti italianites?

hmmmph...hardly- evie is very pro italianite, and well- it's new joisey- you want i should spell it out fa you? Bada bing! We are allll italian in nj!!

besides, maybe he was just intimidated by this!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1670.jpg

what?? Pretty smiles?? Was it a problem when evie pinched his *** in an affectionate gesture she learned from her italian hubby???:confused3

happy birthday lonnie! Thanks for a taste of your birthday dessert.... Not!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1676.jpg

yea- i don't care how pretty she is- where are this girl's manners????

it doesn't matter how much i eat anywhere in wdw, i'm always up for some tt! And the only thing that upsets my stomach on dismoms trips is all the laughing!!!! Seriously, i may actually lose inches from all the muscles contracting so much!!!

i concur in spades!! Love the laughing workout on our vacays!!!

one of the things that made me laugh a lot on this trip was evie.

A common occurrence.

she was hilarious!!! Our evie is very talented!!

as we made our way back to fw to hit tt, we tried to imagine what lonnie's excuse would be for this one..... "and one time, at band camp......" but no, i think she's saving that one for later.... :rolleyes1

"and this one time....at band camp......" omg!!!- :lmao:

hey, i'm not the only one who can beyonce with the best of em!

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1678.jpg

i could have sworn that i rode with laura on this, because even though we rode single rider line, i just asked the person in line with me if they would switch with laura (cause they looked like a lonely single too). But in ellen's pic, i'm not there?

maybe it was another ride that that happened?

I'm guessing that lonnie and evie just thought we were laughing at laura????

i think they were just so proud of themselves not puking that they didn't even notice- but i did- you guys were losin it!!! Nearly blew the whole thing!!! And can i just say- thank god laura was able to hold it together so i could take a break and turn around and laugh my butt off with you!! It was soooooo funny!!:rotfl:

all i know is that i was starting to wind down. All my anxiety about flying, plus a lot of giggling, and i was starting to crash.

Hey, wonder if the birthday girl will give me a taste of that????

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj94/karajeboo/dismoms%202011/dsc_1685.jpg

nope.

yea- really- we made her wear the button- well, it was her bday most recently, but still- and she was all hating it with the " one tiiime....at band caaaamp....they made me wear a button.....and a shark ate it....." you know...the same ol, same ol... And no mousse for us??? Seems kinda cruella deville to me!!

ok, how was it that evie and laura walked ahead of us to the room?

Ship didn't really call security.......

ok- this is where i must protest!! I was looking for the door cammie showed me on my very first stay at bwv- solving all the problemos of windy, twisty, loooooooooooooong hallways leading to.....the wrong wing. We needed cammie. She could have opened that door- i know it!!!!!!!:snooty:

So he felt he could talk to us.

i think he was a pa in the army- he made his country proud delivering all those 15 lb babies!:scared1:

OK, I always thought I was an Epcot LUSH, but compared to you guys, I'm practically a founding member of Epcot Alcoholics Anonymous!

So being the apparent heretofore unacknowledged teetotaler that I am, pray tell, what is in a Pimm's Cup?

I need this info ASAP as we leave for WDW on July 8th! :cool1:

Hey Darlin-

Pimms is a gin based liquor that has some quinine and herbs in it- it's VERY different from Gin, but still in that family- it's not well known here in the US, but popular across the pond. This one was mixed with sprite and had fruit on top- but a Pimms Cup is kind of like Sangria- oranges, lemons, cucumbers and sprite and Pimms with a bunch of mint- it's YUMMY!!! I hope you will try it and let us know what you think!!:thumbsup2

I love how all the other guests in the Single Rider Dance photos just loved dancing along with you! :lmao:

Oh, the scam you pulled off with Laura! :rotfl:

Lonnie, I had car accident flash backs for probably 15 yrs, too. I made myself start riding things at Disney, and little by little, I got over it! Just make yourself do one thing at each park - there are a few uncomfortable moments, but you will survive and you will have so much fun if you do!!!

Thank-you for pumping our Lonnie up!! :goodvibes

And yea... the scam was sweeeeeeeet! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Laura and I played together very well!!! :thumbsup2:rotfl:
:lmao: I love it!!!

What a fun first day! Seriously people...test track is so much fun and NOTHING to be afraid of! I know two giant disney fans who do NOT do roller coasters...they stay away form Splash, Space, even Everest...forget TOT and RNRCC BUT both of them site Test Track as their favorite ride! It's just enough thrill for the not-so-thrill-seekers!

Hey nick! I agree- TT is soooo fun- and sooo great for all!! NOTHING to be afraid of!!:thumbsup2

Can we go into the city puh-LEEEEEEZ!!!!! I am losing my mind this week!!! :scared:

I thought that is what you were supposed to do in Epcot?!! :rotfl2: You should see me during F&W....last year I had my Cosmo slush in one hand and a pomegranate kir in the other.....they both contain antioxidants right? :rolleyes1Fun update Ellen....I was cracking up over your little joke!! So what was so special about Canada eh?!! ;)

Tracy

I always knew I loved you, Tracy! :rotfl:

I love reading this....HILARIOUS!!!! You girls had a great time and that's what it's all about. We are all so busy, working, raising kids, we rarely have time to let our hair down and just have fun!!!! I love it!!! I wish I could convince some of my friends to go to Disney for a MOMS ONLY trip......but they want to go to Vegas to celebrate all of us turning 40 in a few years.......I guess I'll tag along......but I'd rather go to WDW!

Keep it up, Ladies!!! All the best!!!

I've had a lot of my friends say, "But Las Vegas is Disney for adults!"

No offense to LV- but....HUH??? :confused3 OMG- WDW is fun for ALL!!! All those things that look fun while you are there riding IASW for the fifteenth time with your toddler???

UH-HUH- you can do 'em!

Spas, golf, fancy restaurants, secret bars, adult tours ( I mean KTTW kind of adult tours, just to clarify!!! ), CMs who could not POSSIBLY do more to be enthusiastic and excited about your adventure, GREAT cocktails , with , again, GREAT CMs who are soooo happy to see you, comfy beds, happiness all around..., a world tour of food......

Did I mention the CMs who are sooooo happy to see you and treat you like gold?

'Cuz that's what they do- for everyone- including you-

I just LOVE WDW- can ya tell? :goodvibes

My turn!

I did love the Italian atmosphere at Tutto, the only thing that I was disappointed in was how people dress when they are in a sit down place. It was very casual. Guess I'm crazy but I think even though you are at WDW you should look put together when you go to dinner. Oh well.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/lauraschue/045.jpg

I had the caprese thingmabob. It was a tough decision. :lmao: just look at my face after all. Noodles were very al dente. Evie's did look great. I think I had a limoncello here or some sort of fruity drink. loved it either way. I was starting to fall asleep at the table though. Just pooped from the flight, it was a great break from the day. Again loved the girls and it was amazing how we all just clicked.:lovestruc

Here's Lonnie enjoying our lovely singing...click on it to play

But before we knew it we were off, trotting around the globe. Well some of us trotted, others shelpted, limped and meanandered. Evie I didn't think I would make it at times. Did we see Henry the VIII that night?? It is blurring to me. LOL.

Love Love Love test track. If I am not mistaken my tummy was upset:sick: before we got on in the cool single rider line. We flew thru that line. And yes Kara was so concerned about my tummy she just had to ride with me. It was great. We thought up the illness thing as we were coming out. I had to run to the potty and Ellen starts in about how ill I was and the mess and that the ride was shut down.:scared1: I stepped in just to fill in all the details. :rotfl: of we can tell a tale. Poor Lonnie and Evie, they were so concerned. :flower3: I meanwhile was nearly dying of laughter. I do think I actually snorted I laughed so hard, thank goodness for poise! Seriously I don't know when those to picked up on the story. It was convincing.

So we started to head back to the spot we wanted to watch illuminations from. But we needed to stop in jolly ol' england first. I think I may have been the one of the few to pass on a drink. I was too excited to watch illuminations. In all of my trips to WDW I have NEVER seen it. Kids are too young, hubby hates the crowds. I know crazy, huh? :confused3 So after meeting some nice american boys, who also were enjoying the refreshments of the pub, we wandered back to Canada to catch the show.popcorn:: Guess what...I cried. Yup just the start of my tears. loved it. I know my kids will too when they go back in 3 YEARS! It was special spot to watch the show. Very sentamental.

I still don't know how Evie and I got ahead of everyone one. Seriously was I even there...LOL I do recall needing "me" time so that may have been why. I do miss getting to see the secret entrance. :rolleyes1

It was a late night but we stayed up until 2:30 chatting and giggling. Just like a sleep over. :grouphug:

Mission Space is the only ride (beside the teacups) that is truly a puke inducer at WDW. DO NOT do the high intensity side if you have any hesitation from all the warning sides!

It's so bad they have airline barf bags in there. And yes, my big tough DH had to make use of it when we rode! :rotfl:

DS thought it was the funniest thing that his big tough daddy was barfing!

Love the single rider dance! Next year you'll have to get shirts made up saying Single Rider.

It's a thing at CP and other ride parks. There's a whole thread dedicated to Single Rider Bob and all the others wo do nothing but marathon the rides.

I can't believe you've only been there one day! But i've found about 10 new reasons to go back to epcot!

That Big Un was quite funny! My only question is, since Evie and Lonnie don't read the TRs (or do they and just don't respond?), do they STILL think Laura got sick on TT? :rotfl2:

I’mmmmm backkkkk. Sorry for the delay in updating DISmoms’ Groupies. My daughter (13) and I just returned from a 5 night/6 day WDW trip. She discovered roller-coasters and boys on this trip. Both have not been of importance before now. She has decided we must always stay at OKW because many hot boys stay there. I did not tell her that there are hot boys at all the resorts – because it is summer and we NEVER travel in the summer. Too hot!

Now how to I add the DISmoms' icon to my sig???

Oooo, Sangria-like? I'm in. We always stop at the R&C for DH who works up a need for a beer fix in the time it takes us to walk from Germany to England!

I know all of you groupies have been waiting patiently for an update...we have all been swamped, and I promise to update this week! Here's a little bit about what I've been up to-

In June, Pods & I celebrated our 25th anniversary- we had dinner planned (booked a month prior) at Po in NYC- one of my favorite restaurants ever! Tim had a baseball game, Ty's was cancelled due to rain (still can't figure that out, why one was p[laying and the other wasn't, but whatever....) and Pods & I took the train into Manhattan (it's 2 trains from here because we don't have a direct line, but it takes just under an hour). We then took the subway to the West Village, then walked to find our favorite drink spot, through Washington Square Park-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/June%20and%20July%202011/IMG_3803.jpg

We were looking for a watermelon tini- but, unfortunately, they had closed, so we just went across the street. We ordered our first drink, I had some sort of bizarre tequila drink-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/June%20and%20July%202011/IMG_3804.jpg

Don't I look happy?

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/June%20and%20July%202011/IMG_3805.jpg

Yea...well....then I checked my phone. And all hell broke loose. Timmy had been hit in the head with a bat- he seemed fine, except for the 1/2" gash below his eyebrow. Which would require stitches. Which he would be going to the hospital for. Because of baseball insurance. WHich he would be taking an ambulance to. Also because of baseball insurance.

So we called the car service to pick us up 4 1/2 hours earlier than we had planned- sat in an hour of traffic getting through the Holland Tunnel (even though we were within walking distance) and went to Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.

Where Timmy was sitting on a gurney with my friend, Cindy, waiting for a plastic surgeon.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/June%20and%20July%202011/IMG_3806.jpg

Gooooood stuff.

We thanked Cindy (& Darraugh, our other friend who drove to the hospital to bring Cindy home, and deliver our anniversary dinner of lays potato chips) profusely, and at 11:30 pm Timmy got 8 micro teeny stitches from a very nice plastic surgeon. Tim was a trooper, and his team mates were calling him constantly- which was so nice.

But what. a. CRAPPY. Anniversary.

So Pods & I went out to dinner in Kenilworth, NJ the next night at Le Rendezview, which was nice, but it was no Po. We brought our own wine, so that was nice.

Happy 25th- Round TWO-

We were very lucky this past Sunday to get to go to the beach- there actually were NO baseball games and NO practices between the two boys!!! A miracle!! Evie had mentioned something about going down to her house 4th od July weekend, but we had no sitter for Sean (unfortunately, he can't go to Evie's because she is on the bay side and we are too afraid of Sean running into the main BLVD-). But this week, we were able to ask Sheree. And she was happy to.

For those of you who are new, Sheree is my cousin, who, along with her DH Henry, has helped us out more times than I can count by taking very, very good care of Sean while we go with T&T to do other family things that Sean either would not ber interested in, or would not be able to do (like a cruise- he doesn't understand safety issues). They have provided respite for us for years, and we love them dearly. :lovestruc

Sadly, this past April, Henry passed away very unexpectedly- he had a burst blood vessel and a brain bleed that could not be stopped. :sad1: It was sucha bad time. And Sheree is devastated. So, for now, we are all keeping her busy with other things- she comes here for overnights alot, or for other family events, goes out to PA to visit family- that kind of thing. But we are all going to be greiving for a long time.

ANyway, Sheree will be staying with Sean when we go on a cruise next month- and this was a good way for her to spend a night here with him to see how it would go.

And they did great, of course. Sheree is wonderful with Sean, and he loves her a great deal.

Sooo...even though Evie & Tom could not go to the beach, she VERY generously gave us the keys to their beach house and said, "GO!"

Typical Evie.

Anyway, here are some pics frtom the past couple of days from Long Beach Island (North Beach, specifically), NJ-

Oh my goodness Ellen. This has been a happy, bummer, yay, sad, terribly sad, happy set of postings. A true gambit of emotions.

First, I want to say happy anniversary to you and Pods. 25 years is quite the accomplishment any more. (We celebrated 20 in September). And I must say, we are not the norm any more. So :thumbsup2 to you and Pods.

And, what an anniversary celebration to go to NYC for the night. Too bad Tim had the incident with the bat. I know you were probably worried sick until you got to him. It sounds like he was in very good hands though with your friends.

And then, you did finally have your anniversary supper. How special. At least you will never forget it.

Your poor cousin. :sad1: So sorry to hear of her loss. And for the rest of your family too. There are no words to describe what everyone is going through. I hope she will continue to carry on and be able to care for Sean for you.

And, finally, :yay: for the beach. It looks so lovely. And relaxing. I love to just sit on the beach and listen to the ocean.

Hopefully things will settle down for you and your family now and we can get to more DISMom fun. ;)

Thanks.

I am impressed by how much you have done on your own! I married a fine accountant, and I am one HECK of a cook, but we are both CLUELESS when it comes to home repair or improvement. So KUDOS, Madame Prez!

Sorry your anniversary plans took a back seat to the baseball bat incident. I am so glad it was a minor injury. Is there any boy who gets to adulthood without having their face sutured at least once by a plastic surgeon?

Well...this was his second time. He fell on the front steps a few years back, and I took him to the Complete Care for stitches on his forehead. So....that's probably where I would have brought him had I BEEN there, which I wasn't.

He got hit last weekend pitching, and it was pretty bad (but he was fine in a couple of minutes)- when I was in the dugout, his friend said, "Hey- at least his parents were here this time!" :rotfl2:

I laughed sooooo hard......

Well...NYC is right there- I always am ashamed at how much we have taken it for granted all our lives. An amazing city- that really feels like a town when you hang out there enough (stange as that may sound!). And yes- that car ride took FOR-EH-VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! We knew he was in good hands, but it was freaking us out he had to go to the ER in an ambulance- I started thinking they weren't telling us something.:sad2:But he was in GREAT hands- there are 4 nurses on the team, for starters (one dr, but of course, that was the night he wasn't there) and well- the parents and kids on Timmy's team are really wonderful- absolutely love them!

Happy Anniversary!! We will be celebrating 45 next month! I wanted to go to Europe for an anniversary, but with all of the hassles since 9/11 I do my European visits at Epcot!

I know first hand how those calls about injured kids can make one feel. One son was trying to catch a ball in right field when he hit the fence. It knocked him cold & cut his forehead. He had a concussion & several stitches to show for it. He got a ride in an ambulance for that.

Dinner in NYC would be fabulous!

So sad losing your family member, glad that she is under your wing.

I truly loved having this BWV with the view- open the doors to the balcony, and all the cheerful music came right in. LOVED that!

Today we had an ADR at Kouzzina for breakfast- and I couldn't wait!! There are so many creative options on that menu, and we were looking forward to sampling as many as we could- good thing DISmoms are GREAT at sharing!!:thumbsup2

What's that in Kara's hand? A flask? Of chocolate milk?
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3491.jpg

Finally, our pager was flashing, so Kara begrudgingly put away her flask and we were seated. First things first, we ordered a pitcher of their YUMMY sangria-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3493.jpg

And some of us shared a pressed pot of coffee, which was also really good-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3495.jpg

But this was better-

Cheers! It's 5:00 somewhere!

While we waited for our meals, several women came up to us to ask us what we were doing, where we were from, how AMAZING we were, how much they loved our tiaras.....this happened aLOT on this vacation- everyone likes to see a bunch of Moms out taking care of THEMSELVES for a change! :dance3:

I knew for months what I was having for breakfast- but would it live up to my expectations? Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast - Two Poached Eggs, Kalamata Olive toast, Artichoke Spread and Sweet potato Hash with choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage - $11.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3498.jpg

I have to say, that all of the photos I ever have seen of this do NOT seem that appetizing. I think that the artichoke spread just doesn't photograph well. But the way it tastes? OMG!! :worship: Soooooooo delicious- all of it- every bite of yumminess on the plate. I think both Joan & I had this, and we did both LOVE it! Kara had-Vegetable Flatbread Scrambled Eggs - With Roasted Red Peppers, Spinach and Feta - $11.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3499.jpg

She too was in heaven. Lonnie (and maybe Evie?) had Spinach, Tomato, and Feta Scrambled Eggs - Served with Breakfast Potatoes and a choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage - $10.49

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3501.jpg

They said it was absolutely fantastic! Laura tried Classic Waffle - With Whipped Mascarpone Cheese, Honey, chopped Pecans and a choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage - $10.49

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3500.jpg

She had nothing but good things to say about it- and I have to agree with her! This was outstanding! We all shared our food, and although mine was my favorite, the waffles were a close second. YUMMMMMM......

The server came over and asked me something, and I nodded and smiled- it's a little noisy in there, and I am not the best with filtering in a noisy situation- I thought she asked if we wanted more water. What she asked was did we want more Sangria- so out came pitcher #2! I explained that NO, we were not up for another round (being that we had plans of making it to the ACTUAL 5:00 HERE not just SOMEWHERE) and she graciously took it away and removed it from our bill.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3502.jpg

This was a FABULOUS breakfast, we all agreed- actually, we walked out saying we should come back AGAIN on this trip, but that never happened, unfortunately. But I personally DO have it booked for our family vacation in November- along with Kona, because my kids want to eat there too (and, well, so do I!). And I'm pretty sure we'll squueze it in next year before our cruise- even if we are only staying at BCV for 2 nights prior. :goodvibes

Up next- we get our ride on at DHS- a LOT!

I don't think its like that anymore. Maybe years ago. Assateague is like that! :rotfl: Seriously - it looks like there is no one on LBI. It looks fab.

Love your last update. We all had the same meals as you guys (minus the sangria). I did not know it came by the picture, but I will definitely remember that for future visits.

I really, really, REALLY want to stay at BWV for my F&W 2012 trip.

LBI looked liked such a relaxing time away. I will get to a beach house on the shore (I'd say down the shore but Jersey Shore ruined that for me ) one day!

I love that I know another group of women that would have sangria with breakfast. :rotfl:

Happy Anniversary!! We will be celebrating 45 next month! I wanted to go to Europe for an anniversary, but with all of the hassles since 9/11 I do my European visits at Epcot!

I know first hand how those calls about injured kids can make one feel. One son was trying to catch a ball in right field when he hit the fence. It knocked him cold & cut his forehead. He had a concussion & several stitches to show for it. He got a ride in an ambulance for that.

Dinner in NYC would be fabulous!

So sad losing your family member, glad that she is under your wing.

Awww....Europe is incredible- I hope you reconsider and go at some point! I have been 3 times- to Italy twice, and to Scotland once. If airfares weren't so high I would have gone back- and eventually I will- I'd love to see France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands.....:cloud9:

I'm guessing your son was ok after his ambulance ride? That sounds MUCH worse than what happened to Tim- Tim was never knocked out.

Thanks for the condolences- it was and is very sad and has changed all of our lives in a really awful way. :sad1:

Sangria for breakfast :thumbsup2. All of those meals look yummy.

Yea- Sangria for breakfast ROCKS!!:woohoo:

Where Evie's house is is very residential- there are no day trippers, because there is nowhere for them to park, and beach access is up a private road. SO that's why it looks so secluded- and in general, the Island itself was very empty- we kept saying it felt more like June there than the middle of July. Our theory is that it has become exhorbitantly expensive to rent there, so now people rent elsewhere (like OBX) to get more for their $$. Meaning now it's just busy on the weekend, with families who own that come down. The last time we rented there was in 2007- for $3200 a week we got a crap-hole house 1 off the ocean (we need that for Sean- in case we can't catch him when he runs off the beach- no street to cross) with 2 window air conditioner units in the whole place- that were both probably manufactured in 1962. The walls upstairs were plywood, the furnishings were collected from the curb on trash day. We loved the location, but after that we were kind of done. KWIM?

The sangria was very refreshing- I hope Pods is up for it in November!:thumbsup2

After breakfast, we hopped on the boat to DHS- and I made everyone walk over to the Swalphin to do it. Because I HATE a looooong boatride. And BWV is so close to that other stop, and then it's just straight to DHS. I KNOW it's the same boat. But everyone humored me- and to be frank, we're all talking so much the whole time, I think everyone is focused on the constant conversation, and not where they are when they're having it! :rotfl: It IS such a great thing, for me personally- here are these women that never knew each other for the most part, and they ALL get along SO WELL! :thumbsup2

Once we had arrived, we headed straight for RnRC and the single rider line. I was a little sad I couldn't ride with Evie this way because I think it was her first ride ever- but, we are all about efficiency, and we had a LOT to do- so single rider is the way to go! Lonnie did not ride, but all the rest of us went on. I don't have any redneck photos unfortunately, but I do have this-

And this-

Taken by Kara, who was OF COURSE, laying on the ground. Immediately following RnRC (did we ride twice?) we headed over to ToT- sooooo freakin' funny, that ride, with a bunch of cackling DISmoms!

Ellen - glad to hear that DS is OK and that you had a good alternate anniversary! Congrats on 25 years!

We've been fortunate that the worst DS has done is run into the queue line at Kennedy Space Center and knock out a baby tooth, but whoa the blood! No ambulance rides for us yet, knock on wood!

I love all the pics of the beach, especially the WHOA! stop sign!:rotfl:

You are truly blessed to have such great friends! But it takes a friend to be one, so it must come right back atcha!

PS - in my withdrawal from no updates I read the entire Dismom's trip 2. My hubby does the same head tilt!

I want to be a groupie! The clincher was the sangria with breakfast :worship: breakfast at Kouzzina looked wonderful. We had ADRs this summer when we stayed at BWV but for some reason we changed our plans that morning - can't remember why :confused3 but now I'm sorry that we did!

So glad you returned with more updates of the trip. And as for your personal updates - that is vey sad about your cousins husband and very scary about Timmy to hear then and not be able to get home right away. Ellen - so sorry you didn't get to Po for your anniversary, but thank goodness your son ended up being okay!!!

Well, you just made my dilemma over whether to eat at Kouzinna for breakfast or not that much easier. Those photos of your meals look FANTASTIC!!! Now my only dilemma will be what to order!:rotfl:

Sounds like a fun morning so far at HS. Sorry you lost that last post....that has happened to me a number of times too. At least we aren't alone. Think I am going to start doing them elsewhere in draft for the narrative parts...it is too painful to lose one.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3526.jpg

Where we all watched the movie, and several of us had an out-of-body-menopausal moment, bursting into tears during the film.

Whaaaat? Walt is a very moving individual!

Ooohhhh...to be in your forties...:scared:

Afterwards, we decided it was time for a little break, so we made our way across the park to the Tune-In Lounge. On the way, we saw an unusual choice in footwear for a day hoofing it though DHS-
