All of a sudden, green tomatoes everywhere!

All summer long, it's been a tomato here and there. The plants were HUGE, but not alot of fruit. All of a sudden...I have green tomatoes all over the place! Will they turn red this late in the season? We are still having pretty warm weather here, but the really hot temps are gone for good.

Anybody else ever have this happen? One can only eat so many fried green tomatoes.

bring them in when it starts to get cold and leave them on the window sill. They will ripen...;)

There is no need to worry about them unless your going to get a frost. They will ripen.

I had the same problems this year, tomatoes were late ripening, a couple here a couple there. Come September they are all ripening at once. I am picking a bushel a week. Every third day I'm making marinara sauce. I still have tons of green tomatoes. I plan on picking the larger ones and putting them on the window. Ive also decided to make green tomato relish, while I normally don't bother there are so many green tomatoes this year I really hate to waste them.

I now remember why I stopped canning. 3 hours of de-seeding and chopping tomatoes. They have been sitting in a salt brine over night. I pack them up in jars today.

You can bet I won't be making green tomato relish again this year.

My freezer is full of marinara sauce and pesto, I'll have 12 pints of relish, thats it I quit. No more preserving for me.

One more I have to make 500 ravioli's for the holidays with the swiss chard then I quit.
