I had won a auction for some pins on ebay. I then received a email warning me of this person. I didn't have a chance to read their feedbacks till after I won because it was closing soon. This person told me they still had not received a pin they paid for.

Any advice on what I should do. I am obligated to send the money since I bidded right?

Help!!!!

Connie

When you buy something on ebay you should consider it a contract and follow through with the sale, of course this works both ways. Maybe mention that you have heard some negative things to the seller and that you hope you won't have a problem. Hope you get the pins you purchased.

Yes, you are obligated to send the money. I would not send a check or money order, though. If you can, pay via credit card so that you have some protection in case you pay and they don't send.

Any idea what the protections are on paypal with something like this?

Wish I had a better answer I could give you, Connie. :(

If the seller has a verified account with Paypal and you use the service and do not receive your merchandise, Paypal will intercede and try to recoup your money from the seller's account. They may/may not be able to do this. It's happened to me twice and both times Paypal was able to help me with a refund. I use them exclusively.
