we are leaving may 12. how are the crowds this week? Disney is usually okay, but we want to add universal to our trip this time.

In our experience, Universal is always less crowded than Disney. You also have access to more express passes and FOTL.

We went at the end of May last year and the lines were minimal. Maybe 20 minutes for the longest wait, which I believe was Jurassic Park.

We both remarked on how light the crowds were, and we're looking forward to it again in two weeks.

I was there last year in May also. With the exception of Friday and Saturday the crowds were great. Friday there were lots of class and camp groups and Saturday everybody born after 1980 was there! YIKES!
