Hello!!!
This is just an interest thread… more information will be forth coming once we iron out some details… Interest has been expressed in hosting a PAPER DOLL swap…. So, I offered to host…..
Sign up will be SEPTEMBER 29th @ 9am with a due date of November 15th!
Please also note that MickeyTeacher (MT) will be taking this swap over for me. Please look for additional information forthcoming and more than likely sign ups will be in a new thread so that she can update the OP.
Thought we could use the following sizes… 3 ½” – 4”…
3 ½” is the size of the Sizzix Dolls and then we could use either 3 ½” – 4” for the Cricut cut paper dolls.

I will do some searching of my past swaps to get some group ideas and I'll post some photos of those I've done for swaps....I'm really impressed with the faces on all the dolls posted--the doll swaps I've been in were blank faces because some people cannot draw a face well.:)
This looks like so much fun!!:cool1:
I'll post again after I have some ideas together....

I think the dolls cut w/ the cricut have the option for the face to be cut and you just doll them up w/ markers....
I have the peachy keen stamps for faces I use.. I need to find the Tram CM I made.. Oh, I did Mary Poppins & Burt not long ago..
wdwmickey
04-27-2011, 01:53 PM
I know that MDD and I use the cricut to cut the faces. I need to try cutting some with different facial expressions.

The swap I did last was in 2008...I think I need some updating on new characters? Such as Princess and the Frog, Tangled and so on.
Here were some groups:
Harry Potter, Wizard of Oz, Disney Princess, Alice in Wonderland, Disney Guys (Jack Sparrow, Buzz, Woody, Stitch, Aladdin, Pinocchio, etc.), Disney Girls (Lilo, Wendy, Fairy Godmother, etc.), Villians (Cruella, Evil Queen, Jafar, etc.),
Winnie the Pooh, Incredibles, Holidays, Little Einsteins, Noah's Ark, Nativity Scene
Nancy, now that I don't use Sizzix anymore, I cut all my faces and then chalk them....some I draw by hand-depends on the project.
Pictures to follow...

Well, I have some not used in a file but I use my swaps up because I do Make a Wish books for families through my husband's children's foundation. Swap items make those books go together quickly and everything is very decorative for them--the kids love the albums.
I have the pictures of pretty much every swap I ever did....had to go look on an old computer for some of these files!! LOL (again, I'm not getting anything done!! I needed a break though):rolleyes1

Survived the storms.. rained most of the night... downpours... had to get up and pump water out of our basement...but no damage other than sleep deprivation!!!
I've come up with some lists... we might have to break this into 2 swaps... one this year and one with a sign up in December with a due date in 2012... just so we have plenty of time to work on our breaks!
SNOW!~ oh no, I would be in tears!!!
Ok, everyone say a little prayer and cross your fingers that the rain stays away on Saturday.. PJ's prom is this weekend and we don't want rain!!!
BAMB, good luck at the race... We've been missing each other via text this week... I think we need a vacation day to catch up!!
I'll post some thoughts on groups and we can tweak as needed... that way we can all start pre-planning while we work on other swaps!
Ok, need to go see if we have heard from some of our SE swappers.... they got hit hard last night!

ND -- but very close to the border of MT. The last couple days have been gorgeous--supposed to be 70 today but get ugly just in time for the weekend.

UGH!! Get rested up for the prom--it will be ok even if it does rain, but your basement might not??!!??
Our basement is good but we've been fighting roof problems due to ice damage over the winter--always something!!

I would so love a Beatles group. My three boys are crazy for the Beatles. My 6 yr old walks around singing their songs all the time - I just love listening to him because he doesn't always know the right words but he sure has the melody right - It's hilarious!

I would so love a Beatles group. My three boys are crazy for the Beatles. My 6 yr old walks around singing their songs all the time - I just love listening to him because he doesn't always know the right words but he sure has the melody right - It's hilarious!
Would love Beatles paper dolls to put in their books. I'm definitely in for this swap!
LOL Danielle!! My little guy (6 years old) LOVES them too!! We got him a shirt and cd for Easter!!

I really like the cast member group idea....I was thinking Epcot country dolls would be a lot of fun but would take, what 2 groups at least? A Viking in Norway, a Mexican Sombrero guy, The Mime in France, Royal Soldier in UK...lots of possibilities there.
What would the Misc. groups be?
I think I would change Tinkerbell in Princess Group B to Rapunzel or another princess because she is already listed in Group A.
More Disney Guys: Buzz, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Indiana Jones...
It's been a really long day and my brain is overloaded....I like your groups so far.:thumbsup2

Actually discussed that with my DH... He laughed and said.. yea, and then I forgot to write it down.. Will add them tomorrow..
What would the Misc. groups be?
Things like a girl: swimmer, ballerina, band members, just kinda of anything.. girl in curlers...
Same for boys.. minus the curlers... well, who is to say after the kid I watched walk out of our high school today... He made my head hurt!
I think I would change Tinkerbell in Princess Group B to Rapunzel or another princess because she is already listed in Group A.
Will change to Rapunzel tomorrow.. couldn't think of anything to what i had.. was drawing a complete blank..
More Disney Guys: Buzz, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Indiana Jones...
other great ideas.... will add them... we could do another Dis Guy group..

BAMB, good luck at the race... We've been missing each other via text this week... I think we need a vacation day to catch up!!
I know!!! I feel like I'm being a bad friend but I've been doing a lot of driving and I don't want to text and drive.
ND -- but very close to the border of MT. The last couple days have been gorgeous--supposed to be 70 today but get ugly just in time for the weekend.
Figured. BFF said MT was due for snow this weekend. BLECH!! I don't know how she'll survive the next few years while DH is stationed there.
I would so love a Beatles group. My three boys are crazy for the Beatles. My 6 yr old walks around singing their songs all the time - I just love listening to him because he doesn't always know the right words but he sure has the melody right - It's hilarious!

Keep in mind the Beetles group at EPCOT is done as of April 30. They are going to be at a new venue somewhere in the Downtown Orlando area starting May 14.

OMG can I start now?!??!?!?!
LOL!
I'm gonna start templating dolls (sketching and pulling which carts can help get me the clothing I need)....
I have to make a PROM girl for PJ's pages this week too.. I'm even gonna try to add "jewels" around the halter of the dress like her dress... Mom bought me a whole bunch of adhesive jewels when she came up to take photos today!
Did I tell you PJ was 2 votes short of being in the top five to be one of her class's Princesses!!! (that is 4 times, all 3 homecoming courts she is girl #6 by 2 votes and now Jr. Prom).. I don't know who I need to talk to but someone needs to vote and get her on the books!!!!!
BernardandMissBianca

ERgh!!! Her brother better be voting for her!!!
He needs to drum up some votes!
I'm going to start templating too. (I really want Ursula hint, hint) ;)
Are these going to be one doll per spot or 2?
And shouldn't you be in bed???
ETA: I really want Rapuzel too. LOL DD would never let me live it down if I didn't do one!!

It's within her class only.... so she will handle those guy friends of hers! :) No, her brother would vote for her hands down.. I have photos of him helping zip her dress up because that was his job! ;) Her friend who won Princess last night said she wouldn't accept nomination next year because she won...
Ursula is a good one!!!
one doll per set and we can do two sets of each if need be...
Yea, DD would so be upset if you missed out on Rapunzel!
Well, our soccer game just got cancelled for today so I better boot the laundry and start cleaning the house & scrap area so I can make a dent in the things to be done before school ends in 19 school days!
