Hello and :welcome:

This is the element swap for EPCOT: Here is how we are doing this swap..

1. Choose an open theme (Mexico, Living Seas, Illuminations ~ anything at Epcot).
2. Select ONE element for Groups A - D.
In group B, C2, & D2 I have added mini page kits: these kits will include a title, 1 photo mat, 1 journal box and an element from the element list.
Make a 2" Altered Letter for Group E – S.
ALL ELEMENTS SHOULD B EMBELLISHED IN 2 DIFFERENT WAYS..
3. PM me with your DIS name, name and address - only if I have not swapped with you before.
4. Post your status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
6. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
7. HAVE FUN!!

I will pm you with a reminder if you forget to check in. After 48 hours with no response I will request angels for your spots. If you are going on vacation or will be out of town, please check in early. Please do not sign up for more than you can handle. If you need an angel, please ask for one as soon as possible.

After sign-ups, please pm me your name, DIS name, mailing address, email address and phone number when you sign up (I will only use these in an emergency).

I will open up additional groups if there is interest!!!

This is an element / Altered Letter swap.

Packaging: Place your completed elements in a Ziploc bag THAT FITS YOUR ELEMENTS (the bag MUST close) with your DISname, name and group letter. Do not address your items to a particular swapper. (That makes it harder for me to sort!) Your label should look like this

Take all of your baggies for a group and place them in GALLON size (or larger) bag, (for Groups K- N, you may use a quart size bag) and label with the same. Please use the gallon bag (or larger) -- your items may fit in a smaller bag, but the items you receive back might not. Please mark all bags w/ above information. **Please note on altered letter groups if you wish you could package all the letters into 1 quart size baggie; without having to bag each letter individually.

Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after JUNE 27th [note this is before the mail by date]. Then, you must mail Priority WITH Delivery Confirmation. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: * I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. The rates are: Envelope or Small Box (9”x6”x2”) - $5.20, Medium/Standard box – $10.95, Large - $14.95. *Please note the recent increase in shipping rates.* . I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER June 27th. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.70, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.70. And I am not responsible to for postal errors. ** Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)**

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

ELEMENT GROUPS:

Element list:
Title = standard 8x2 topper (other sizes are okay), welded and shadowed letters, letters on squares, circles, mini tags or other shapes, a large title tag, title on a box, borders, photo mat, altered CD, altered letter (matted @ 4" & embellished).
1 paper piecing (not a single layer diecut)
2 photo mats for a 4x6 photo, 2 layers, smallest layer 4 ¼ x 6 ¼, embellished
2 journal boxes, total of 3 layers, minimum writing space 3x3, embellished
2 tags (or 1 large tag—greater than 2x3), 2 layers, something in the hole and embellished
1 file folder or matchbook (2 if mini) - -embellished
2 slide mounts -- embellished
3 altered paper clips
1 library pocket and tag. Tag must be 2 layers with something in the hole, pocket must be embellished
1 license plate
3 shapes(squares, circles, stars, flowers etc) 2 layers, embellished
1 ATC
Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished
Song/Lyric/Poem: 1PP, 3 layers in total and embellished. Min size 3x4, shapes are welcome
Altered letter: matted at least 4 inches & embellished

You can mix and match -- 1 tag and box, 1 photo mat and box, 1 tag and 2 squares or shapes, etc.

******Please let me know if you have an idea not listed! We are open to new things.

Suggestions for embellishments include:
Die cuts, stickers, stickles, flock, ink, chalk, brads, charms, flowers, eyelets, ribbon/fiber, sewing, tearing, embossing, stamping, clipart, additional layers of paper beyond double mats (if it would look weird trying to fit in another embellishment, specialty paper (such as embossed, glitter, Bling).

A Final Note: This swap is a huge commitment of time and money for everyone involved as it takes a significant amount of both to create all of the pages and elements. Having said that, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not sign up for more than you can handle. It is not fair to me or the other participants to expend the time and money to make something for someone who does not reciprocate. We all want everyone to enjoy swapping but we also want you to think about what you are getting into when you sign up.

Last but not least, HAVE FUN! I know we all stress about our work and that is OK. The important thing to remember is that you just need to make something you would be proud to have in your own albums and everyone will love it. If you get stumped or have a question, anyone on here would be happy to help; all you have to do is ask.

hmmmm..... So sorry! I just realized that B was changed from a single element to a mini kit. So sorry for the confusion but I am going to pass on B then. I am not usually this needy :surfweb: 11 mini kits is way too many for me with softball, soccer, and end of the school crazies! So sorry!

I totally understand.... I'm the same way...
If you would like me to hold your name on the wait list.. if there is enough interest in another single element list, I'd be happy to put you in....

I have the same problem.. next week we have 2-3 activities every night... and NHS induction, prom...

Nan - I edited my choices back to some of my original letter choices because new groups opened. I wasn't sure if you already had them noted, so wanted to let you know!! If it is too confusing...just put me wherever!! Thanks a bunch!

The change for group J is fine with me.

I changed some of my others back to original requests since new groups opened...I think we posted at the same time.

For F, I will take the E & D to close it out instead of opening a new group.

OH my, you have no idea!! A huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She looked good, happy, and I think Montana is growing on her. One of the softball mom's has horses and W's been helping tend them. They are supposed to go riding when it warms up (they still have snow).
We are planning a Disney trip in 2012 with them. And her DH's parents and grandma, and our BFF from Atlanta and her hubby. It's gonna be crazy!!!!

2 trips in one year! I'm gonna loss my mind!

No, they don't..and what sets me off is when his Dad asked him earlier this week, he wasn't coming home... but Dad said to call if he changed plans and he said he would.. he evidently came home last night and didn't call either parent...

Yes, we will each make 3. In post #3, I made a master list of the FULL groups at this time that lets us know exactly how many to make for each group.. I will add the other groups when they fill up! But for Group R: we make only 3! That will make them go very fast! :)

You can post examples of your dolls on the scrapbooking forum... and if you want... you can always give size and which cart you used for their outfits... but only if you want to do that... but I love what I have seen!!!!! I am not opposed to a UK Royal Soldier.. and if I don't get one...cause I'm not in that group... I'm not opposed to getting the directions to make them myself!!!

I think it was basically copied from the example in the Cricut cart-I'll be looking for your posting...and if you want one of the soldiers(if I make them-which I probably will), I'd be happy to add an extra soldier and send to you as a hostess gift!! I'll have to remember to take note of that...;)

We did a paper doll swap last fall. We made our dolls 4 inches. It was great fun :) What size do you make your dolls? My DD and I prefer them between 3 and 4 inches.

I love all the different elements posted so far! Good job ladies getting things done so quickly! I need to get cracking!!

The paper doll swaps I was in off board were held to 10 groups of 5. No one hosts larger swaps than that.

For doll size, those I posted are small-the it's a small world dolls are about 2 1/2" tall...cuz it's a small world???

For other swaps we did the standard size for Sizzix dies--so some participants could mix and match die cutting systems-not sure if anyone uses Sizzix anymore??? I think 3 1/2" or 3 3/4"?? I'd have to go back and check the requirements. I'd join a doll swap on this forum for sure!!:thumbsup2

for my group B - america mini kit I am thinking of making a paperdoll...would you it be better as a boy or a girl full size or should I just make the faces with hats of both

if a boy, would use the groom but in red/white/blue and the girl would be the dress up on with the little pinafore and a colonial looking cap

OMG! Scrappinstevie, I would have been livid..... especially having pulled my DS from school and then to have them tell me that... OMG!!! I was so glad our orthodontist had early appointments... we would be in there at 7:10am so we didn't miss school... I'd actually say, it's time for the receptionist to find another job!!

I need to finish the LOs for April I have planned...and I hope to start cutting the shadows for some of my letters today!!! I need to complain to the place I ordered my other items because they haven't shipped yet... I usually don't have to wait this long from them...

I have ordered my papers and will have to wait until they get here to get started.

JLD ~ I am awaiting my order too.. got word that it is being shipped as of yesterday...

Ladies, where do you shop for Disney scrapbooking supplies?

The online store I used to order from all the time without issues is now giving me fits-I place an order and then find out many items are out of stock, shipping takes forever, etc. It is frustrating to order a line of papers and then get your order and half are missing.:mad:

I too am waiting on some stuff to work on my Epcot swap groups....but I could use some other things.

I ordered from Scrap Your Trip (based in orlando).... they are awesome..and the best thing I noticed is that this time it would tell me (highlighted box on top of the cart information) if they were out of stock on the item OR if they only had so many it would highlight it filled my cart with the number they had in stock...

It took a while to fill the order about 5 business days (I'm impatient).....which is a great turnaround time.. I got the email they shipped on 4/28.. when I checked this morning.. it's out of the truck to be delivered to me TODAY!

HELP!!

I have a question in regards to bagging the letters:

In the directions it states I can put all the letters in one bag but what about when I am in a group with more than one letter-I have 3 letters and an Icon in Group P. Should I put each letter in a bag and then bag those in a larger bag? So I'd have all my W's in one bag, H's in another, O's in another, and Icons in yet another-then bag them all in the larger ziplock?
That way each letter group is bagged individually? but all those within the group will be together without being a mishmash inside the larger bag?
Am I making sense???:confused:

I just want to make things easier for the hostess to swap out.

I was just thinking about this last night...
Lets do it this way to make it easier and less bulk in mailing....
If you are in a group with more than 1 letter... you can put all those letters in one baggie for each individual & make sure they are labeled with the needed info... (so if you have W, H, O and the icon ~ put them all into one baggie for each person in that group... so if there are 6 ppl in that group your have 6 baggies w/ the 4 letters).... Then take those 6 baggies and put them into a bigger baggie that is labeled so that all 6 baggies are in 1 group baggie/labeled...

This way as I go to make sure everything is there.. I will have 6 baggies...and I will split them..and then verify with each person's baggies that they have all the letters... (which shouldn't be an issue; it's a double check for myself)...

Does that make sense????

I have got my sketches done...
I bought these "charms" from ScrapYourTrip.. thinking they were charms (small).. well, they are NOT small... they measure... 3" x 3" (or thereabouts).... so most of my embellishments for my letters are bigger than my letters... {glad I only bought them for select groups}.... but you all in my groups will getting these "charms" because I bought them as an extra... I could have cried when I saw the says of these "charms"... they are cute...but they are big!

I have a list of ones I want to cut today and get the embellishments made so that I can assembled this week while I await my photo order...

I am still waiting on my stinking paper!!!!! I had ordered a bunch of things and a few were back ordered or something. Keeping my fingers crossed for today. I have to run to J's as I am out of black cardstock anyhow. dunno how that happened.

I have most of my groups planned out. so I should be on it as soon as the stinking materials get here.

Thanks for checking in... Yes, finals are just around the corner here... they kids were discussing last night which finals to exempt.. if they get perfect attendance they can exempt XX number of finals depending on which grade you are in..

I understand the need for inspiration... I have cut all my pieces for my Epcot icon.. but the way I wanted to fix the balloons will NOT work without causing all kinds of issues for the recipient... so now I need to brainstorm and figure out another way to do them... but it will be cool (or at least it looks that way now) when it is finished!!!

Ok, time to go figure out the fair schedule..

No rules for the shape... all we ask is that it's got a 3x3 or there about journaling space... if you got a cool idea.. run with it... I don't police journal boxes...or something creative....

I took lots of pictures of the topiaries in China too! I bought them at Joann's, they are in plastic bins for $1.99. Already threw out the packaging so can't tell you the name.
