Before I begin, have to admit, I've been dragging my feet about doing this TR.

It was actually my sister who was like, "when are you going to do a report?" I guess the reason why I've been hesitant is because I just know that at the very end of the trip report, I'm going to feel a bit depressed. It seems like most everyone here on the DIS is fortunate enough to go at least once a year if not more. For me however, I know I'm not going to be able to get back to the World until at least 2014. That makes me sad. :sad1: In fact, it was that very reason why I didn't complete my last TR. Once you're done reliving the memories,...what else is there? If I didn't complete my report, then my reliving of the trip would never end. Dumb mentality I know but it is what is is.

Alas, sharing my memories with people at home is only so-so exciting. If you aren't super into Disney or at least been to Disney World, how are you supposed to get excited or even care about what I have to say? So I turn to you DISers, since I know at least a few of you out there will actually be interested in the tale of my vacation.

I am kind of equating writing this TR to having a pet dog or something. When you get the dog, you get it knowing full well in the back of your mind that in a decade-ish or so, it's just going to die and you'll feel sadness but you still get the dog anyway because of all he happiness it'll bring you until that time comes. I realize the depression of the end of writing a TR does not even begin to compare with the dog but it was the only analogy I could come up with. I apologize profusely if anyone was offended by it but oh well. :confused3

So anyway, let me begin! I'm going to slightly tweak my introduction from my PTR.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/1-2.jpg

On the left of the photo is me, Kellie. I am a 23 year old from Hawaii. After this past trip, I've been to Disney World 5 times so far; 1992, 1997, 2001, 2008, and now 2011. Wayyyy less then most of you Dis folk out there but kind of a lot compared to most people here at home. What can I say, when you are traveling over an ocean and across a continent, airfare can get super expensive! Anway, I am a HUUUGE Disney Freak, always have been. I love the parks, the movies, the music...everything! I think I've memorized almost every Disney movie song that came out after Oliver and Company. I am always frequenting random Disney sites, looking for the latest info on Disney. My room is decorated with Disney posters and figurines...even my trash can has Minnie and Mickey on it. Obsessed much? The only thing Disney I don't care for at all is the Disney Channel. I guess I'm just not the target market for the current shows...they irritate me somehow. Anyway, as you can see from my current avatar, my favorite character is Mulan. I think it's awesome that she risked her life for her family and ended up saving an entire country.

On the right of the photo is my sister Kristina, but I usually just call her Kris. I may refer to her by both those names. I apologize in advance if this confuses anyone. She is a 20 year old student. She's been to Disney World 3 times now; 2001, 2008, and now 2011. She's a fan of Disney too but not as much as me. However, I don't think being a bigger fan of Disney than me is possible.:rotfl: Her favorite character is Ariel because she likes her rebelliousness for some reason.

Our trip was from March 15-26. 3 of those days were travel days though. We spent 9 days total in the parks.

Now you may be wondering, why did she title this TR "My First Time As a Grown Up?" Well this was our first ever vacation where we were in charge of ourselves. Not mom, not some band trip chaperones, none of that. It was just us. That alone made for a really cool experience, just trying things out on our own, making our own mistakes, doing whatever we wanted to do.

Day 1 & Day 2.1

March 15-16, 2011

Kristina and I left the house at about 09:50 a.m. to meet mom at our grandma's. From there, she was to going to take us to the airport. Mom was super stressed out. She kept calling practically every 5 minutes wondering where the heck we were. She was in a huge panic that we were going to be late. Our flight wasn't even until 1:00 p.m! In all the rush, I ended up forgetting to take the quesadillas she had made me to eat on the plane. Oops! Eventually we made it to grandmas and from there, we left for the airport and got there by 10:20 a.m. Mom had gotten worked up for nothing.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0866.jpg

Kristina driving to grandmas.

After getting dropped off, I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I had never flown without an "adult" before! Kristina however, seemed to know what she was doing so I just followed her around to wherever we needed to be. Interesting, since she herself had never done the airport by herself but I guess she just has a more "grown up" instinct than I, ha ha! We got through check in and security and such by 11:00. Mom called the exact moment we passed through security, just to make sure we got through okay. I know she meant well but what a worry wart!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0868.jpg

Kristina in line waiting to get check in.

We had a little over an hour to kill before we could actually board the plane so we walked around for a bit. Bought some bottled water. It was $2.00 but what else could we do? Kristina wanted to find the Pinkberry yogurt place so we looked for that. I was disappointed. I was expecting it to be one of those self serve things but alas, it was not. I guess they modified it for the airport? :confused3 Anyway, I decided to just get some chicken nuggets from Burger King. I actually only intended to order something to eat before the takeoff but they accidentally gave me two orders so I saved one for the plane. Don't give me that judgemental look! If I had taken it back they would probably only throw it away anyway.:rolleyes1

8 Pieces of Awesome-nosity.

After eating, we went to the gate, sat around for a bit, boarded, and were off the ground by 12:45. We almost had a slight delay though. This older man would not turn off his iPad. He claimed it didn't power down. The flight attendant was having none of that madness. She told him that if he wouldn't turn it off, she'd have to inform the captain. That would mean a DELAY! Luckily, she was able to find someone who knew how to turn it off. She looked super pissed off when she gave the iPad back to him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0876.jpg

Our plane

The flight was pretty junk. The kid sitting in the aisle seat across from me kept coughing and wouldn't cover his mouth. At least his mom understood how unsanitary this was and covered his mouth for him. The kid's younger sister was clearly too big to not have her own seat but the parents insisted on carrying her on their lap so I think that made her fussy. She would not stop fake crying. I say fake crying because it didn't sound like a legit cry to me. It sounded more like an attention getting wail. The little girl in the row in front of us also cried at random times. Mostly I just drifted in and out of consciousness with a break in the middle to gorge myself on nearly an entire bag of mustard pretzel nuggets. At first I was self conscious and worried about the people around me, thinking they were staring at me and thinking badly of me as I shoveled nugget after nugget into my mouth without an end in sight but then I stopped caring. Ha ha ha!

Found this image from the Google. Pure deliciousness.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0877.jpg

Err...showing off the Sprite?!?!

We arrived in Los Angeles at about 9:00 p.m. PST. The layover was very short, and we were back off the ground by 10:30 p.m. I sat in the middle of my sister and this older woman. There were no crying babies on that flight, thank goodness.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0878.jpg

Found La Brea Bakery in the LA Airport and Kris just HAD to get a picture with it. We ate there ONE time in Disneyland's Downtown Disney and she swears it's the best bakery ever! She was all like, "we have to go back to Disneyland so I can eat at La Brea Bakery!" I then proceeded to remind her that mom brings home La Brea french bread from Costco every few months but she still insists on going back. I dunno, Disneyland is cool and fun and all but it just doesn't compare to Disney World!

After drifting in and out of consciousness (with a break in between to gorge myself on the remains of the pretzel nuggets), we finally arrived in Florida at 6:00 a.m. EST.

Random thought: I never got up to pee at all on both flights. CRAZY! But I'm not complaining. Having to pee on the plane sucks.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0879.jpg

That's right, I wore socks with slippers on the plane. Quite the fashion DON'T but I don't like wearing shoes on the plane because they're so confining. Yet, my feet always freeze. This was the only solution. So if you ever one day are looking at the Fashion Don't s section of one of those magazines and you see a blurred out face of a girl with a black jacket, jeans, and socks with slippers, it might just be me. :upsidedow

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0880.jpg

Me on the fake Monorail that takes you to baggage claim. It's not the real Monorail. The real one is only in Disney. ;)

Anyway, after getting our bags, we hightailed it over to the Magical Express desk. After a little while, the bus arrived. There was a man sitting in front of us that reeked heavily of cigarettes. This annoyed me but what could I do? I overheard him talking. He sure had come a long way! He had flown from Japan, to Hawaii, to California, and finally to Florida. That's a whole 9 hours more of flight time than we had. That must have been awful! Unless of course, he was in first class. Or rode JAL for the first leg. Japan Air Lines is awesome. Then maybe it wasn't so bad. The earthquake in Japan had just happened too so he was telling some other woman about his experience. That was cool to overhear.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_0890.jpg

On the way to the hotel, we passed a gas station and were in awe at how cheap the gas was. $3.49! At home, it was about $3.70-something. By the time we got home though, it had already surpassed the $4.00 mark.

Anyway, we made it to the Pop Century Resort at about 7:15 a.m. The check in process went smoothly. I have to admit, I was just a smidge worried that somewhere along the line, our reservation went missing and we weren't going to have a room. Alas, that was not to be. While sitting down in the lobby getting our bearings, the song "Missing" came on. You know, the one that goes ..."and I miss you...like the deserts miss the rain..." I must admit though, up until I Googled the song about 15 minutes ago, I thought the words were ..."like a desert's mystery...". Anyway, I thought to myself, how 90s! Awesome! I must have heard this song at least 5 times during our trip. Random factoid, I am a huge 90's geek. It was definetley the best decade ever!

Our flight from Korea back at the end of January was so-so. But we went from Seoul to Detroit. Then again, I'm used to long flights like that, having gone to and from Korea/Japan-America countless times in the past 10 years.

I look forward to reading more about your trip.

Wow, that sounds like a SUPER long flight! I went to Korea back in 07 and I remember the flight being about 9 hours. I imagine going all the way to Michigan must have made the flight at least 15 hours? Wow, super long! I think if I was on Korean Air though it wouldn't be too bad. They're pretty up there when it comes to good airline service. And I loved their food!

Day 2.2

March 16, 2011

So after checking in, looking at all the Pop shadowboxes, and leaving our luggage with the luggage dudes or whatever they're called, we went to Everything Pop and bought our mugs. Kristina also got a yogurt parfait. I ate the leftover Chewy Bar and Special K Protein Bar that I didn't eat on the plane.

I seriously for reals thought about buying this Mulan playset. Mulan is my FAVORITE Disney character ever and there is hardly any merchandise featuring her. Throughout the trip, everytime I saw something with Mulan on it, I HAD to take a picture of it. Anyway yeah, I almost bought this playset but then I realized that it would probably just wind up in my closet, taking up space and collecting dust so I decided against it.

After eating, we went to the arcade. When we booked our vacation, one of the coupons we got was a voucher for 100 arcade points. Kristina played some Pirate Pinball game worth 50 points. She didn't like it. We ended up not using the rest of the points because there was no other game we felt worth playing. I don't know, I guess we are just not big arcade people. Kris suggested we leave the card with the 50 remaining points in front of some random person's door to make a kid happy but we never did.

So after that, we just explored the grounds of the hotel until about 10:00 a.m. I was really impressed with all the pop icons, they were very cool. I also loved how the music in each section of the hotel corresponded to what buildings were around it. Looking back, I wish I had taken one more opportunity to explore the sights of the hotel. Well, actually, I tried to do that on the very last night but you'll see what really happened when I get to that day.

Love your pics, keep them coming. I too feel your pain about not going again for awhile. We were there when you where, the 19th thru the 27th. Last trip was 2009 and my last trip before that was 1978. I have two kids, my son is 11 and my daughter is 8. I am hoping to take them again before my son starts high school, 2014 as well!!!

Day 2.3

March 16, 2011

After exploring the hotel for a bit, we went to Downtown Disney. We looked at a few stores and then we went to Goofy's Candy Company where I got my pretzel rods. I had been craving them for so long! I got 3. All of them were dipped and drizzled in white chocolate, but one had sprinkles, one had cinnamon sugar, and the third one had M&Ms. They were all super delicious but the cinnamon sugar one was my favorite.

After my pretzel rods, we looked around at more shops. I was under whelmed with D Street. Somehow...I was expecting more. And by more I mean less. Less expensive that is. Kristina bought one of those really pretty D&B bags from World of Disney. I would have bought one too but I don't like the idea of it having a button clasp. I would much prefer a zipper. It seems more pick-pocket proof somehow.

I don't know if any of you out there know about the...err...Japanese Revoltech Woody doll meme going around on other forums but after seeing the pictures people have taken of it, I can NEVER look at Woody the same!:rotfl2: I can't really say too much about it here because...ehm...it's not exactly family friendly.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_1006-1.jpg

Omg JOHN SMITH! I love that they have him. The Pocahontas movie is a really good one...WAY underappreciated. I love that it didn't really have a happy ending. It gave the movie a much more mature feel but I guess that's why it didn't do so well...because of the seriousness. I just wish John Smith didn't look like such a freaky robot here.

Ah Disney Quest. We didn't go here this trip. No loss though. We didn't care much for it the last time. We just aren't arcade people.

At Ride Makerz, Kristina got chased out of the store by a remote controlled car. She was wearing her Minnie ears and the worker controlling the car said "we don't like Minnie in here." That made me laugh. Understandable though, since it was essentially a Build a Bear for dudes.

Kristina was dead tired at this point but she still hadn't eaten anything since that morning. She decided to eat at the Wolfgang Puck's Express because she had a good meal there on our last trip. She ended up getting a Spicy Chicken Melt with Chips.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_1037.jpg

Kristina being super excited.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_1040.jpg

Spicy Chicken Melt with Chips.

After Kristina's meal, we headed back to the hotel. When checking in, I was told that I would get a phone call from them no later than 3:00 p.m. to tell us that the room was ready but I never got any call and it was already after 4:00 p.m. by this point. I went to the front desk to get things straightened out. I guess they just forgot to call me or something because the room was indeed ready. We ended up on the first floor in the 80s section.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_1046.jpg

In the bus, going back to the hotel.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/IMG_1052.jpg

The Potato Heads were near our building.

We were also told that our bags would be delivered to our room but alas, when we got to our rooms, our bags were nowhere to be found. We hightailed it over to the bag people or whatever they're called. The man said that our bags were being delivered as we spoke but Kristina pointed out that no, our bags were right THERE! (imagine her pointing at our bags behind him).

So after we got our bags back to the room, I disinfected the place with my trusty rusty Sani-Wipes, unpacked, took a shower, then went right to bed. Well, actually, that's a lie. We didn't go right to bed. First we had a disagreement on what temperature to keep the thermostat at. Kris wanted to keep it at 73 degrees while I wanted it at 79. I don't know why but somehow, the air seemed WAAAY colder than it really was! The 73 degrees felt like 65 and the 79 was like 71. We compromised and kept it at 74. But by the wackadoo thermostat standards, that was really like a 68. I was still superly freezing! While Kristina wore shorts and a t-shirt to sleep, I wore long pants, a shirt, plus a jacket, AND my socks. Although we agreed to keep it at 74 degrees, throughout the course of the trip, when we were in the room, while one of us was in the bathroom or something, when we'd come out from the bathroom, the tempurature would "mysteriously" :rolleyes1take itself up or down a few degrees. Ha ha ha!

On our last trip, I don't know why but I found the words "Wetzel's Pretzel" really fun to say so I decided to make my mom say "Wetzel's Pretzel" 5 times fast while I recorded it on video. Ha ha ha! Yeah, I'm a bit strange.

Yeah, we are total photo hams sometimes. I guess after a while we got tired of having all these "nice" photos of us so we decided to mix things up a bit.

I think a lot of people take long for that reason. I guess that's why so many people put real life updates into their TRs as well...to kind of stretch it just a little bit longer.

Ny DD has that Mulan set too. She really has never watched Mulan yet, but she likes those sets and has most of the characters.

Yeah, the thought of not having any possible Disney World trips in the near future lined up id definetley depressing. At least you'll possibly have a little bit of a way to satisfy your Disney Fix though. I definetley prefer Disney World in the long run but there are some cool things at Disneyland that they don't have in the World such as the Indiana Jones ride or the BETTER Pirates of the Caribbean.

Day 3.1

March 17, 2011

Woke up at 6:12 a.m. even though the alarm was set for 6:30 a.m. Got ready and headed to the Magic Kingdom which opened at 8:00 for Extra Magic Hours. This was our first time ever NOT starting off our trip with the Animal Kingdom. It was a nice change. I feel like the Magic Kingdom evokes more happy feelings than the Animal Kingdom does. It was a better way to kick off the trip. Anyway, Kris and I were both super excited. In all our excitement, we ended up getting yelled at by a worker because we were apparently entering the Magic Kingdom the wrong way or something. Haha oops!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1074.jpg

Took this on the way to the bus stop. This was the only dark shot of Pop I got the entire trip. :sad2: Wanted to take more but we ran out of time.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1077.jpg

Bus mirror pic!

Got to the gates in time for the morning show. It was so awesome! I seriously almost started to tear up, right there at the gate. The morning was really foggy. It was so bad that when we got onto Main Street, you couldn’t even see the castle in the distance! It was like they got rid of it! I wish I had taken a picture of it because it was just so surreal. Alas, in all the excitement of our first park day, I just didn’t think to take out my camera. As we got farther and farther up Main Street, Cinderella’s castle slowly came into view. It was a really cool effect. It made the castle seem very mystical. I was so glad that I couldn’t see a construction crane in the castle background. I knew they were doing construction on Fantasyland and was worried that there would be one there and it would somehow crap up any castle pictures.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1084.jpg

The first ride we rode was Dumbo. Kris and I don’t particularly care much for this ride but we both wanted to get a photo of us on Dumbo so we rode it just for that purpose. It was really cool to be able to see all the Fantasyland expansion construction going on behind the walls. I also liked the fact that the walls were decorated prettily…not just one blah-tastic solid color. After Dumbo, we did Peter Pan. I swear, that queue is the most deceitful queue you will ever come across. It looks way shorter than it really is.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1091.jpg

After Peter Pan, we did Splash Mountain. We were one of the first people to get on the ride, as there were only a few people in front of us and we walked through the entire queue without stopping. I kind of wish I was able to though. I don’t enjoy waiting in long lines but sometimes it’s nice to take in the visuals. Plus, having no wait time didn’t give me any time to put on my poncho. I had to awkwardly slip it on while I was already on the ride. Anyway, Kris and I got put in the first row. I was a little bit nervous because I had never ridden in the first row before. The dudes behind us asked if we wanted to switch with them but I said no. Those dudes made me nervous. Not in a creepy way or anything but they kept coughing and I was afraid they were going to get me sick! But anyway, Splash Mountain was fun. I’ve gotten to like it more and more every time I go back to any Disney park. I used to hate the drop but it’s not so bad anymore.

My voice went all high and little girl-like. I even blew them a kiss goodbye when they blew me one - ha ha ha!

After meeting Minnie and Mickey, we rode Thunder Mountain. The line said it was a 30 minute wait but it wasn't that long. It was more fun than I remember it being. But what happened to the goat with the dynamite in his mouth? Were they refurbishing him? Or was he only in the Disneyland version? Hmm...

Whenever we go to WDW we always start our trip at MK and have either lunch or dinner at pecos bills and we seem to almost always end our trip in MK and like you said about the crane being in the shot of the castle, it was there the last time we went and it ruined some pics.

Awesome update. I really love that castle picture, it looks so cool all misty in the background, I've never seen in that way before but I really like it! That sneaky kid in the back of your Splash Mountain pic is hilarious. It's kind of annoying when people do that, but you just gotta laugh at it, they definitely make trip photos more interesting:laughing:
And I love your meet with Mickey and Minnie, so cute!! I've never seen them wear that outfit before either, it's adorable.

Ok, I just got totally caught up. :) I have to say - I always, always, always wanted a sister growing up and your TR makes me wish that even more. You can just tell how much fun you guys had together! (I ended up with a stinky brother.)

I had to google the Woody meme and I am laughing my butt off!! :rotfl:

Love the shot of the Rubik's Cube in the dark - very cool! I also like the shot of you 2 in front of the foggy castle - I've also never seen it like that and it looks kind of cool.

The trip just doesn't feel "real" to me if I don't start at the MK, I can see why you were excited!! Even if it means totally going against touring plans, I have to start and end the trip there.

:) I have never seen the castle like that. Was it cooler than normal that day? My DH will retake the picture till no one is in it. We had rode Test Track about about 10 times before we got a picture with just our family in it, he drove us all crazy that day.

It was a little chilly in the morning but as soon as we started walking, the chilliness went away. Haha, I am kind of like your husband! I hate it when too many random people are in my photos.

Day 3.2

March 17, 2011

So after Thunder Mountain, we made our way to Liberty Square. On the way, we saw Donald. His line was short so we took a picture with him. The sun was beaming down in such a way that the only way to not have the sun in your eyes for the photo was to have our backs to the people in line instead of the backdrop. I mentioned that this totally opened us up to possible photo bombs but luckily no one in line did anything crazy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1137.jpg

But look! What lights come yonder.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1140.jpg

See how our backs are facing the queue instead of the backdrop?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1138.jpg

Kris, talking about the Haunted Mansion.

We then did Haunted Mansion. Most of the queue was covered up because they were getting the new queue ready. You weren't able to see any of the tombstones. I was a little bummed to see everything all covered up but the tarps were down by the end of the trip. They were also renovating the hitchhiking ghosts. There was a screen covering the part where you see the ghost in your buggy. There was only a projection of the ghosts floating by. Disappointing...but eh...what can you do?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1143.jpg

Kris and I had a run in with some Disney thugs and they stuck us there for a bit. Bwa ha ha! This whole Disney Thugs thing was something we joked about with our mom before we left. She was so paranoid for our safety even though we are both legally adults. We joked around that they Disney thugs were going to get us because she wasn't there to protect us.

We had Fast Passes for the Pooh ride so we went there to use them. I kind of wish I had stood in the regular line though. The interactive queue was really cool. I loved the interactive honey!

Her dream castle?

After that, we headed for Tomorrowland. The first thing we did was get Fast Passes for Space Mountain. Then we saw the Carousel of Progress. I love that show...I don't care that it gets more and more outdated as the years go by. The TV screen that showed the play through of the grandma's video game wasn't on. I thought maybe this was a budget cut of some sort.

So yeah, the grandma was playing the video game but the screen wasn't actually working!

After the show was over, I heard the Cha Cha Slide comming from the stage area so we headed over there. Chip and Dale were out dancing so I Cha Cha Slided for a little bit. Ha ha ha! It's a fun song! We then got photos with Buzz Lightyear. I have never had my photo taken with him before so this was a new experience for me. Kristina was a little iffy about his wait but the line wasn't even that long and besides, we had 8 more days, we had all the time in the world!

No, the lining up of the arms wasn't planned, I just happened to line it up that way. I kind of wish they weren't lined up actually to give the pic a more dynamic feel. Oh wells.

Great TR so far! You've taken some pretty awesome pictures, ones most would generally not take. I love the pictures you took of CoP. Omg I hope they never get rid of it but it really does seem like one of the attractions that is on their chopping block. I feel like a lot of the newer attractions rely too much on 3Dness and we don't see as much animatronic type stuff anymore. If COP goes, it's just one less animatronic attraction.

Day 3.3

March 17, 2011

At this point, it was about 12:00 p.m. time for the Celebrate! Street Party thing. I danced and sang while reapplying my sunscreen. Hooray for multitasking! We only stayed for a little while though. I was surprised to see Sebastian. I didn't know that he made appearances.

Thought this was a cool photo.

We went to Adventureland next. Grabbed some Fast Passes for Jungle Cruise. We saw Ariel and Eric but they had already cut off their line. The Photopass guy told us to come back at 2:00 p.m. We decided to kill time by riding Pirates of the Caribbean. While standing in line, this man behind us told his 2 year old daughter to kick her brother for some reason. The girl mistook Kristina for her brother and ended up kicking her instead. That was amusing. I took note that the queue was very Pirate-like. Towards the beginning, the Cast Members told us to keep going, fill up all the open space, and any free space was yours to fill. There was no organized line. I thought this was Pirate-like because of all the chaos and the (totally okay according to the Cast Members) cutting in line and the general every man for himself mentality. Also, I don't know why but I felt like the ride was really dark for some reason. I know it's a dark ride but I feel like it was darker than the last time I rode it.

Waiting in line.

After the ride, we saw Pirate Goofy and took a photo with him. At this point it was 1:40 p.m. so we headed back over to where Ariel was going to appear but we were too late, they had already closed off her queue! I didn't mind though. The Eric they were featuring wasn't very Eric-like to me. Mostly he seemed too feminine to be Eric.

Anyway, I LOVED the show. The last time we saw it, Disney was still doing the Year of a Million Dreams thing and the characters were wearing their blue Dream outfits. I had been wondering if they were going to be given their classic outfits now that the old campaign was over and I was right. During the part where we are supposed to make a wish, I blurted out "suitcase with a billion dollars!" And of course I had to correct Minnie when she erroneously stated that I wished to be a princess. Ha ha! Eh...my humor is kind of sarcastic I guess. :p Anyway, I was recording some of the show and my camera died right at the exact moment where Peter Pan had his solo line in the last song. I was so bummed! Peter Pan is my favorite Disney male. Well, actually I lied. Not about Peter Pan...I mean my camera. It didn't die. The SD Card just ran out. I put a new one in when the show was over.

Day 3.4

March 17, 2011

We were in a good spot to view the parade so we remained on the bench where we were sitting. It was SUPER hot. It was a dry heat though. I didn't sweat at all. I just burned. It was kind of like standing in front of a hot open oven. I don't know...dry heat fascinates me somehow, I guess because we don't have dry heat at home. Just humidity heat that makes you sweat. Anyway, it wasn't long before the clock struck 3:00 p.m. and the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade started. I was disappointed with it. It was essentially the same parade as the last time we were there but with less catchy music and way less floats. Ugh, freaking budget cuts! Blah... I wonder if the extra floats were cut because now that the have the street party, the logic behind things is now there are 2 mini parades as opposed to 1 big one? I don't know but I don't like it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1266.jpg

The ONLY float that they updated KIND OF. But not really.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1265.jpg

Kristina...basking it utter disappointment.

It was definitely time for some lunch so we headed over to the Starlight Cafe. We got a tad lost trying to find it. Interesting...because the last time we were in Disney World we had a hard time finding it too. I don't know, that place is just so darn illusive! While in line to order, the family in front of me annoyed me. I was really hungry and the kid wouldn't make a decision about what he wanted to eat. He kept going back and forth on one order. Ugh! It took FOREVER! I wish the family would have come to a final decision before they got in line to order. But anyway, I had the chicken nuggets kids meal with grapes and apple sauce. Kris had a pulled pork sandwich with fries.

Ta Da!!!

Since we were in Tomorrowland, we decided to use our Space Mountain Fast Passes. This was the first time in 10 years that I rode with my glasses on. I don't wear my contacts regularly anymore. I was a little scared they were going to fly off so I tried to hold them while riding. Somehow, I had got it into my head that the Space Mountain Photopass picture was a free one like at Test Track but alas, I was terribly mistaken. When the ride was over, we got some Fast Passes for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin but we ended up not ever using them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1309.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1313.jpg

Headed back over to Fantasyland. After doing Philharmagic and Small World, we used our Fast Pass for Jungle Cruise. While waiting to deboat, the skipper asked who had traveled the farthest to get here. Kris and I raised our hands. Clear across the country and over an ocean. Anyway, while exiting the ride, I saw a dude who looked like John from John & Kate plus 8. It wasn't him though.

This picture amused me. It looks like a monster, who died (notice the Xs for the eyes) because eating the human made him sick (the window is the mouth). Haha, I'm weird!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1342.jpg

This picture is REALLY cool. Kris looks like a ghost! Or else it's like I went into Photoshop and cut her out! The guy in front of me turned around and took a flash picture at the EXACT moment that I was taking a non-flash picture so that's how this came to be.

I was sad to see this down. I'm one of the few who actually like the Tiki Room under New Management.

Kris wanted to try a Dole Float because I had mentioned to her that a lot of people on the DIS like them. I myself wasn't going to get one actually. I'm not really a fan of pineapple but I caved and got one too. When I was handed my float, I thought I was given the wrong treat. The ice cream had a greenish tint to it! Kris however, told me the cashier dude said that they had colored the ice cream green for Saint Patricks Day. So all was well and delicious. It was really yummy!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1375.jpg

Awesometacularmaximus!

At this point, we decided to start heading on out. While exiting Adventureland, we passed a sign that said the Princess meet & greet had a 90 minute wait. A man walking in front of us jokingly mentioned to his daughter that he was going to grab a Fast Pass for it. He also asked her if she felt like she was starting to outgrow the princesses and how he remembered that before, she used to watch all these Princess Barbie DVDs. Kris and I had to laugh because Kris is 20 years old and she STILL watches all the ALL the Barbie movies. And it's not like she watches for nostalgia childhood memories either. At least that would be a little understandable. They didn't even start making the Barbie movies until Kris was waaaaay past the target age bracket for them. Yet, she just loves them! She even bought 2 of the Barbie movies on DVD!!! Ha ha ha!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1357.jpg

On the way out of Adventureland, I saw this and was sure that it wasn't the Contemporary Resort. As I got closer and closer, I realized that lo and behold, it was! I didn't realize you could actually see it from inside the park! It's so close!

We shopped a bit in the Emporium. I don't know, I just wasn't too impressed with the merchandise. I wish they had more park specific things rather than just character specific. I really wanted to buy a pen but not one of those oversided autograph pens. Alas, there was none, and I know they used to make normal pens because I still have all the ones I've bought on previous Disney trips. I also didn't see very many glass figurines. It seems they've all been replaced with the Vinylmation stuff. It was kind of nice to not see High School Musical and Hannah Montanna plastered all over the place though. Last time we were in Disney World, those things were still "in." While paying for our souvenirs, Kris noticed that our cashier Elaine's name tag said that she was from Maui. We had a fun little conversation with her about Hawaii. Apparently she had lived there for 4 years at some point. Kris took a photo with her and when it was time to part ways, she said "a hui ho" to us. "Until We Meet Again" in Hawaiian. She was a sweet lady and you could totally tell she enjoyed her job.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1379.jpg

Kristina and Elaine doing the shaka sign.

After that, we went back to the hotel and got there by 9:00 p.m. I showered, took some notes, then went to sleep.

I love that street party thing - my husband laughs because I can't hear that "Time of your life" song without tearing up. Sniff sniff.

Those are some hilarious pictures from the stage show - Minnie and Aurora! Too funny!!:rotfl: Nice Maleficent picture!

I'm laughing at your Starlight cafe pics - my daughter had a HUGE meltdown on our last night in the parks over Sonny Eclipse. Glad you guys weren't too scared. ;)

We missed the Dream Come True parade this time and I was bummed, but maybe I shouldn't be too sad. :(

I was sad that the Tiki Room was closed too - though that music gets stuck in my head worse than even "it's a small world" :lmao:

Dole Float. Yummy. I could totally eat one for breakfast right now. My kids both wanted to try mine when I got it and realized neither of them like pineapple. Yay for not having to share! :woohoo: :lmao: Fun with a green tint!

Wow you guys got A LOT done in the Magic Kingdom. I love your pictures from Dream Along With Mickey. I especially love the Maleficent picture (huge Villains fan) out of all of them. And what happened to Smee and Hook? Usually they are "fur" characters not face. I hope that isn't going to be forever since they looked a lot better as "fur" characters. Moving on... those dole whips looked pretty awesome! I'm not a fan of pineapple ever since my weekend of Pineapple Soufflet (too much) and if you like it and you don't like pineapple, they must be good :) And I'm pretty sure you're the first person I know to call Cosmic Ray's, Starlight Cafe. I was confused for a sec when I saw Sonny Eclipse, but then I saw the sign and had an "OOOOHHHHH" moment. THOSE RAPUNZEL BUSES! They were bugging me on my last trip. I still don't know why they said Rapunzel and what the purpose for those buses to be out. Ugghh... we may never know. :/ Can't wait to read more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

Wow those green tinted Dole Whips are so cool. I love green colored food! lol

I'm pretty sure those buses with the characters on the display are training buses and/or not in service buses (they use character names instead of "not in service" to keep the magic). I saw those on my trip too and they were driving me crazy so I researched it to see what the heck they are for.

Can't wait to hear more:)

I actually thought it was kind of cool to do it this way. Honestly, I've never much cared for non-face human characters like these guys, or Lilo and Gepetto etc. I dunno, it just always seemed weird to me.

I could TOTALLY go for a Dole Float for breakfast. You can always justify the unhealthiness by saying that it's okay because there is fruit in it. :lmao:

I never did get a Dole Whip. everytime I went by the line was too long for my liking.

When we went, the line wasn't crazy long but there were only 2 people staffing the Dole place so the lined moved really slow. Worth the wait though!

Yeah, we were even surprised by the amount of things we got done! The huge spring break crowds didn't really start until the very end of our trip.

Wow those green tinted Dole Whips are so cool. I love green colored food! lol

Next time when you are visiting Florida, you should go to Islands of Adventure. I remember that they actually sold green eggs and ham there at one of the restaurants. :thumbsup2

Firstly, thanks! Haha, I got it from The Nutty Professor. He used the term when referencing someone who had un-toned arms. Secondly, I actually think she looks womanly. I know that the Tinkerbell used in the fireworks show is often a man though.

Day 4.1

March 18, 2011

Today was our first Animal Kingdom day. We woke up at 7:15 a.m, got ready, and got to the park before they opened at 9:00 a.m. Our first ride was the Kilimanjaro Safaris. Since it was early, it wasn't too hot and a LOT of animals were out. Unfortunately, they were all on Kris's side of the van so she got a better view than me. Not gonna bore you with too many animal pics though...I'm sure you have seen enough of them on thousands of other TRs.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1400.jpg

The position that the hippo was in amused me. It looks as if he lodged himself between all the trees and now he was stuck. It looks like he was all..."uhh...guys? A little help? Hello? Could you at least throw me some cheese crackers? Or a juice box?" (I just refferenced an episode of Homestarrunner's Teen Girl Squad but I don't think you guys watch that sort of thing).

Giraffes are my favorite non domestic animal.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1418.jpg

Does anyone know if these eggs are real or fake? I feel like they are fake. I just don't think the Disney people would let these eggs sit unprotected like that. Also, they look to clean to be real.

After the safari, we went over to Expedition Everest. The wait wasn't long...only about 20 minutes. I was disappointed in the lack of the Yeti but I knew going in that it was going to be down. It was still very fun and since the line was still fairly short, we rode it again.

Just another picture that was taken after getting off Everest.

We decided to ride Kali River Rapids next. On the way over there, we saw that the line for Baloo and Louie was short so we took a picture with them. I told Louie that he was the King of Swingers and he did a little jig of some sort.

I love this picture!

But anyway, yeah, we rode Kali River Rapids. Honestly, the only reason we rode this ride is because I wanted to get the photos of the picture of this random Hindu couple I saw plastered all over the place. I first discovered it on our last trip and I thought this time, I wanted to take a picture of it every time I saw it. It became kind of like a Where's Waldo game in the Asia section of the park. In actually, I don't really enjoy wet rides. I decided to put my Poncho on and I'm glad I did because I got splashed A LOT. Kristina got wet too but decided against the poncho. Alas, this ensuing wetness made her a bit grouchy for a while.

We did the Maharaja Jungle Trek next in hopes that walking through the sun would dry her off a bit. It didn't do much. She decided to go to the bathroom. Love your picture hugging Baloo and Louie - that's so cute!!

Very cool with the random Hindu couple - I love stuff like that but am rarely observant enough to discover it on my own. :rotfl: Though I've never ridden Kali River Rapids (I'm with you - can't stand walking around in wet clothes and never had the desire to!) so maybe that's why.

Flik's a cool looking little character, never met him.

Actually, Flik isn't a character I would normally take pictures with...I didn't really care for the movie. But he didn't really have a line and I kind of felt bad for him so we took a picture with him anyways.:)

Ooh, I like that border on the photopass picture near Everest. That's cool.

haha, I always think it's funny when people wear ponchos on Kali River Rapids but at the same time I don't blame them. It's kind of hit or miss though...once I walked off SOAKED and another time I barely got a drop of water on me.

See, that's why my sister didn't wear a poncho...because every other time she rode it, she never got wet.

Love the pictures with Louie and Baloo! Beautiful Tiger shot!

Those hand dryers at AK are super powerful!

Yeah they are! I like to stand there as the air blows on my hand and makes my skin go all weird-like. Did that make sense?

I'm here and all caught up! I cannot wait to read the rest of your report. Very great start so far! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

So whats the story behind the hindu couple?

I have no idea if there is an officialy backstory for them but I made one up. Basically the Asia section of the park is like part of some southeast Asian touristy area and everything is owned by the Hindu couple. They have people to do the actual work...they just kind of oversee everything.

The picture with King Louie and Baloo is adorable! I'm the same way with ponchos on wet rides. I hate how people make fun of me beforehand, but it's all good when I get to laugh at them when it's over and I'm still happy and dry:laughing:

Okay, it took me a while but I finished your PTR and caught up with your TR.

Very cool that you parents kicked in to pay for your ticket, that rocks. Did they pay for your sister's too?

I can't imagine flying half way around the world ...until I think of doing it for WDW! :thumbsup2 Sounds like y'all got together a good system for who has to sit next to a stranger on the flights.

I think the 90s is a cool decade, it was a good one for me anyways. Too bad you didn't get a room in that section, but the 80s are good too. Great pics at POP, it looks like you had a lot of fun walking around taking them. And don't worry, I took a BUNCH of night pics at POP on our last evening there ;)

I saw you with lego Woody, was the new lego store open at DTD? We did the same thing, walked DTD on our travel day. It is interesting but with so many things shut down/being renovated it seems like a lot of walking for just some random stores and places to eat.

On the Mulan set, you just have to embrace your kid side. I'm 42 and have more toys in my office at work than I did when I was a kid :rotfl:

Good call making MK your first day, the shot of the two of you in front of the fog-shrouded castle was very cool. And I loved the slightly out of focus shot of the street in fantasyland - is that a setting on your camera that gives that effect or a photoshop thing?

You two did a good bunch of stuff, hitting all the big rides despite not being ride people. I agree about the afternoon parades, pretty lame and it was wicked hot for us too - we baked in a big way for such a short parade :confused3

Still looked like a great day there.

AK looked like a lot of fun, you got some good unique character interactions there. I don't care for the wet rides either, who wants to walk around a hot park with wet skivvies? I missed the yeti on EE too, they gotta get him back there.

I look forward to hearing and seeing more on your trip!

Those are seriously some awesome photopass pictures you guys got! I love the one you have with Baloo and King Louie :thumbsup2 The one you got after Everest is pretty awesome too. And what is with that hindu couple? I've seen their picture before as well and I think it was in the Kali line. Hmm... Well, more reason to ride that ride (LOVE WATER RIDES <3) And the Maharajah Jungle Trek is so cool, I love when you are actually in that area with bats and no windows, it feels more real. And the pictures with Flik and Pluto (My Client ;)) are pretty awesome as well (: Can't wait to read more, update soon! :mickeyjum

This is a great trip report!!

I have to say we are very lucky to go to Disney World almost every year or every other year, but you girls are very lucky to live in Hawaii!! I hope to go there once in my life in 3 years for mine and my husband's 10th year anniversary! And, of course, we'll be staying at the Disney Resort out there! Are you girls anywhere near it? Have you seen it? I am sooo excited and hope to not be dissappointed...but with Disney I'm sure I won't be :)

No, the Lego store wasn't open yet. It was still the temporary tent.

Alright, so after many moons of being DIS-ishly dead, I am back!

Day 4.3

March 18, 2011

So after taking pictures,we decided to do Rafiki's Planet Watch. We had never done it on our previous trips. I have no idea why really. It's not like we didn't know it was there. We're dumb. It was cool to see a bit of the backstage area from the train but the actual Rafiki's Planet Watch place was just kind of blah. There wasn't really much to do. At least I got to meet Pocahontas. She commented that my watch was an interesting compass.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1508.jpg

We checked out the petting zoo and then Kristina sat down to watch the movie where Rafiki talked about all the different animals that are becoming extinct. She said it made her depressed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1512.jpg

The next thing we did was explore the Pangani trail. We mostly just skimmed through it until we got to the gorillas. There weren't really any out though. There was one who went to sit behind a tree. It then did this thing where it peeked out at us from behind. It was soooo cute! It was totally trying to hide from us ha ha! Alas, I have no photographic evidence of this. Oh well.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1520.jpg

The fact that this bird was actually standing on the hippo amused me.

After this, we kind of just wandered around for a bit. Somehow, we inadvertently ended up on a path to explore the Tree of Life. It was really cool to see all the carvings up close. Since we were in the area, we decided to see It’s Tough To Be A Bug. As usual, I leaned forward when the bees stung you from behind and crouched down in the aisle off my seat when the bugs crawled under your butt. I can’t stand those parts!

I thought that the lake looked like it was filled with leftover Shamrock Shake from McDonalds. The algae is insane!

We wanted to eat at Restaurantosaurus so we headed over to Dinoland U.S.A. I love this place because of the condiments bar. Unlimited pickles FTW! Along with the unlimited pickles, I also had chicken nuggets with apple slices. They also accidentally gave me fries. Kristina had the grilled vegetable sandwich with sweet potato fries.

Kris's lunch

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1548.jpg

My lunch

The room we ate in had really yellow lighting so it gave everything an unappetizing tint. I didn’t care though. I was really hungry! Also, there were some teenagers at the table across from us that were balancing some water bottles on top of each other. I was impressed. The stack got pretty tall! I really wanted a picture of it. However, I didn’t want to outright take a picture of them for fear of being labeled a creeper! What was the solution to this dilemma you ask? Well I pretended that I was taking a picture of Kristina but really I was taking one of them. I think they knew I was really taking the picture of them though because I saw them look in my direction and whispering among themselves. Oh well. Hopefully I never run into them again in my life.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1551.jpg

Haha, the pretend picture of Kristina.

After lunch, we rode Dinosaur twice because it was only only a 20 minute wait. We had the front row of the car for our first ride. Fitting my bag into the bag holder was a pain. This was kind of a common theme throughout the trip…having trouble fitting my bag into the holders. It was really fat! And it’s not like I had a million things in there…the bag itself was just fatly shaped because of all the pockets. This made it extremely annoying when doing the bag checks before entering the parks every morning. Actually, that very day before getting into the Animal Kingdom, the security guy decided to count how many pockets I had to unzip. There were 15! He said that the most he’d ever seen was 17 so I was pretty up there in the pocket count.

I couldn't believe the algae in that lake either...though I may never look at a Shamrock Shake the same again... :rotfl:

Aaaaand....back from the dead....AGAIN!

Sorry guys. I've fallen into a major Dis-pression and I can't get up! I guess that's why I've been away for so long. Coming here and knowing I won't be able to get to Disney World for a few more years just makes me so sad. And now that I am going back to college, I want to go back to Disney even more than usual...just to escape. I dunno, I guess I'm afraid of messing up in school again and I just want to get away. Hrm.

I actually have pretty much the whole darned report typed out. It's just a matter of getting it copied and pasted into here. Which can be hard. Because in the back of my mind, I know that once I finish this report, there will be no more reliving it.

Hmm...but anyway, for anyone who is still out there (or for any new readers who want to join in), I am back. Regularly this time. I promise from this point on to post at least once a week! Oh my gosh I can't believe I still haven't finish posting about my 2nd Disney day yet! Blargh. Y'know what, I think I'll post 2 updates today, just to give things a kick start.

Kris being annoyed with me for some reason.

We wanted to take some character pictures so we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Brer Fox with Brer Rabbit. Kris and I wondered what they were doing together. They hate each other! Oh well.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1600.jpg

Somehow, this lizard on Daisy's beak also amused me.

We wandered around aimlessly for a while. Mostly we were just waiting for it to get a little darker because I wanted to see what Kilimanjaro Safaris was like during the evening. Killed some time by re-riding Everest. The wait was only 25 minutes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/photopass/Photo0106FourBySix.jpg

Took this picture while wandering. Kris wanted to pose like we were lost, and trying to find the Tree of Life.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1639.jpg

MAJOR FAIL! I would say what I thought it said but it's probably not appropriate for a family board. Maybe there are some weird minded people like me out there who thinks it says something pretty funny/inappropriate too.

Finally it was 6:00 p.m. and we decided to use our safari fast pass. I was thoroughly disappointed. There weren’t really any animals out. It was just barren savannah. At least we got a good view of the lioness though. Still, from now on, I am sticking to morning safaris.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1636.jpg

At this point, I was ready to go back to the hotel. However, Kris wasn’t. She thought it was too early to end the day. We decided to bus over to the Grand Floridian and ride the monorail just for fun. While in the bus, I asked her if she realized that it was 7:00 p.m. Apparently she hadn’t. She thought it was much earlier. It was still so bright out! It looked like Hawaii’s version of 4:00 p.m. She had been deceived by the sunlight! After realizing what time it really was, she decided that we should probably just go back to the hotel. I was a little annoyed with her. I’d wanted to go back to the hotel in the first place! Ugh! Anyway, the Wilderness Lodge was the first stop on the bus we were on so we decided to get off there. From there, we took the boat to the Magic Kingdom and from there, caught the bus back to Pop.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%203-4/IMG_1677.jpg

w00t! 2 updates in one night! Hooray! I guess it makes up for me being dead for a little over a month. Boo for Dis-pression!

Day 5.1

March 19, 2011

Today was an Epcot day. There was a family standing a few families behind us who I though looked like they might be from Hawaii too. The mom had a Hawaii-ish vibe somehow. Not so much the adult children though. They definitely had a West Coast vibe. I was too far away from them to hear them speak so I couldn’t tell if they had the Hawaii accent…or lack thereof accent depending on how you want to look at it. I feel like I don't have an accent but I've heard Mainlanders tell me I have a Hawaii accent.

The park opened at 9:00 a.m. and we beelined it for Soarin. We walked fast enough that we were the first flight of the day. We requested front row center and got it! We didn’t even have to wait for it! I was glad that Kris got to experience front row center for the first time. Soarin just isn’t as awesome when you get the 2nd and 3rd rows. We got Fast Passes for later in the day and then rode Living With the Land.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1692.jpg

Kris was annoyed with me for taking this one. She didn't want to take any pictures, she was preparing herself to RUN!

Obligatory lemon photo.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1703.jpg

See, the good thing about being the photographer is that you pretty much never get random mildly embarassing candids like this one taken of yourself!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1709.jpg

We didn't watch the Timon and Pumbaa conservation movie but I couldn't resist having a picture of it anyway.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1711.jpg

After that we rode Spaceship Earth and then took some pictures in front of it.

Then we made our way towards the back of the park. Kris tried some sodas at Club Cool. Just like the last time, the Chinese soda was her favorite. As for the Beverly, well she knew going in that it was going to taste bad but she tried it again anyway. Mostly just because I wanted to videotape her reaction. Making our way even nearer to the World Showcase, we passed some sort of butterfly house exhibit thing. I HATE butterflies! I’m afraid of them! To me, they are just moths with decoration. I sat and waited while Kristina took a look at what it was. Apparently it was you in a tent with butterflies flying all around. So NOT my type of thing.

Yay for updates! I am with you on the post Disney depression. It always stinks coming home and I think that's why it takes me forever to finish my TRs too! Hopefully you'll be able to go back sooner than you think. :)

Nice picture of the lioness! We've done safaris in both the morning and afternoon and have had good luck with both recently. But I'm with you, the morning ones are usually better! Some of the early-afternoon ones we did a few years ago were duds. :guilty:

Woohoo for all the updates!

I love your picture with Mickey hugging you all! LOL And Mmm that tie dye cheesecake looks so yummy! I think out of all the Disney desserts I haven't tried yet, the tie dye cheesecake and zebra domes are the ones I want to try the most!

That's great you all got perfect seats for Soarin too! And you hate butterflies?! lol I'm not a bug person at all, but butterflies are one insect I actually like:laughing:

Can't wait to hear more:)

Hey! Glad you're still here! Ugh, yeah, Disney depression SUCKS! We are hoping to go back in 2013 when the Fantasyland expansion is completed.

YAY! UPDATES! Though I totally agree, when no trip is on the horizon, it's very hard to finish a TR so quickly, but glad to see you are back! Great M&G pictures at AK! I like the one where you guys are practically tackling Mickey LOL And why must you taunt me with the tie-dye cheesecake?! Something I must try if I ever stay at POP! :thumbsup2

WOO! EPCOT! That's awesome Kris got to sit in the front on Soarin'. I've never been able to and I've heard people who REALLY like the ride have sat in the front before so I totally must try it out from the front. :D And you don't like butterflies? Wow, I'm shocked. They are really the only bugs that fascinate me, the characteristics of moths and butterflies are quite different, moths are ugly and pests, butterflies are majestic creatures of nature, but that's how I see it. Apparently not everyone is that way and I respect that :goodvibes

Day 5.2

March 19, 2011

At 11:00 a.m. the World Showcase opened. We bypassed Canada and the United Kingdom (but not before taking a few photos) and headed straight toward France. Kris wanted a pastry from the Patisserie. She ended up getting a napoleon.

After I took this picture, someone actually used this telephone booth FOR REAL. AS IN TO MAKE AN ACTUAL PHONE CALL. Not just as a photo op. Everyone commented on it.

She was all excited to nosh, only to discover that her fork was missing a prong.

After she finished eating, we met Belle. She was an okay Belle. A little too perky than I would imagine Belle to be. At least she looked the part though.

You do know those phone booths you can actually make phone calls from or it maybe just to... I don't know, but when I was there, some of my friends were in there and one went on the phone and there was actually someone on the other end and after a guy walked by, asking the same questions the person on the phone asked. It was really sketchy, but it just proves that you can make phone calls in the booths.

Oooooo... that Napoleon looks GOOD! I love the French bakery, everything just smells so good and looks so good in there. I don't know how I've survived not buying anything from there, my mouth is watering just thinking about that place :goodvibes

Hm, I'll bet the guy who walked by afterwards was the guy who was making the calls. I know the numbers for the phones are around here somewhere on the boards...I know some people like to call the booths for fun but I could never do it. It would just make me sad that I wasn't there but this person that I am talking to is!

Day 5.3

March 19, 2011

Next we explored Japan.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1810.jpg

It was pretty cool that they had an anime exhibit. I was surprised there were no reference to Sailor Moon when they talked about the rabbits though…I thought that show was kind of popular. Loved it as a kid...Sailor Mars was my favorite but now I like Sailor Jupiter better. My friends and I used to play Sailor Moon all the time at recess back in the 3rd grade. Hmmm...perhaps that particular anime is too old?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/supersgr.jpg

Kris actually has this Inuyasha poster in real life! She had it displayed on the wall in her room for quite a few years.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1805.jpg

Hah!

Also, I don’t know why I like Japan’s Mitsukoshi store so much. It’s pretty much Shirokiya on a slightly more expensive level. Shirokiya is a Japanese food/products store we have here at home. I don't know though...somehow I just find it so fascinating!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1808.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1809.jpg

Had to take this picture with the ramen noodles! Everyone was obsessing over it and it just amused me immensly because they sell it at every single grocery store at home. In fact, I have it for lunch I would say at least 3 times a month. And it costs me way less than $2.75.

At about 12:00 p.m. we went back to Morocco to meet Aladdin and Jasmine.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1812.jpg

Kris waiting in line.

I called Aladdin a street rat and he said that no, now he was reformed…he was royalty and the proof was in the fact that he was wearing purple! I too happened to be wearing purple so he said that I must be Hawaiian royalty. Ha ha!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1815.jpg

Here we are, discussing the purple-nosity of my shirt.

They asked us where our princes were and told us that we have to look everywhere to find our diamonds in the rough or something like that. The girl who played Jasmine was very good. She actually looked like how I might imagine Jasmine to look. She wasn’t overly sweet either which was great because it was very true to the Jasmine character. The guy who played Aladdin was so pale but his voice and mannerisms were SPOT ON! I theorized that since Aladdin became royalty, he no longer hangs out in the sun as much and that’s why he was so fair skinned. Ha ha! I found it interesting that the photopass dude only took one photo of us but the cast member I gave my camera to took all the candids. But yeah...this was definetley a really fun meet & greet. I appreciate that despite the fact that we aren't kids, they took the time to really talk to us and not just a quick hello, snap shot, and goodbye.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1816.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1819.jpg

I suggested we all pose in the "Aladdin stance." So we did!

Next we went back to Japan to watch Miyuki. We watched her make a flamingo, an elephant, and an owl. It was very cool. I thought it was strange though that she kept repeating herself, and saying something about caramel candy which was weird because the candy was clearly not caramel. I thought maybe she was sick or something because she seemed very worn down.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1821.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1825.jpg

We went over to the American Adventure nextto see the Voices of Liberty. I was surprised that I recognized some of the singers from the last time we were there 3 years ago. After sitting in the theatre for a few minutes, they announced that they were having technical difficulties or something so we had to leave. What a LETDOWN! We waited around a bit, saw the Voices of Liberty again, and this time the show was working.

After the show, we quickly looked around Italy. We actually were looking for somewhere to eat but didn’t realize Italy only had a sit down restaurant. Ha ha, we're too poor to afford to sit down and eat.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1837.jpg

Anyway, we decided to go back to the United Kingdom because Kristina wanted fish and chips. It was VERY HOT at this point which made me a little grouchy. There were no seats available. Kris wanted to stand around and wait for a table while I just wanted some shade. She ended up waiting around while I went to go cool off in the shops. She called me when a table opened up. It was way too hot to eat fish and chips so only Kristina ate. I just relaxed, took some photos, and watched the seagulls. There was a lot of bird poop in the area. GROSS!

When Kristina was done eating, we went to watch Canada’s circle vision movie. It was my first time seeing it since the update. On our last trip, I didn’t watch it because I didn’t want to stand up. I sucked it up this time though. It was better than I expected. I like the old version of the Canada song better but the new version with the girl wasn’t terrible. Just takes some getting used to I guess.

Okay, let me explain the photo above. So during, the trip, once it started getting really sunny, I would put my hat on. I then kept it on for the rest of the day and didn't take it off until we got back to the room. I didn't want the ensuing ugly, matted, sweaty, hat hair to be seen by the masses. You will notice that the photos taken of me early in the day in my TRs are hatless but after that, the hat never comes off. Anyway, it was really dark while waiting for the Canada show and the brim of my hat shading what little light there was in the waiting area didn't make things any better. I decided that the only solution was to turn my hat around Ash Ketchum style. Yes, I actually made a show of it. Because hat hair is embarassing but being 23 and imitating Ash Ketchum dramatically turning his hat around isn't. When Ash turn's his hat backwards, you know something's going down.

Yes, I AM a 90s geek and I STILL watch Pokemon. I even have the entire Pokemon Pokerap memorized. Not sure if that's something to be proud of but it is what it is! Actually, just this evening, I joked to Kris that I was going to turn my biology notes into a fun rap because it would make it easier for me to remember. But ANYWAY, after I turned my hat around, I wanted to know what I looked like so I had Kris take a picture of me in it. When I saw the ensuing picture, I thought I looked super 90s. No one turns their hat backwards anymore, it's always tilted to the side just so. I had Kris take another picture of me with my backwards hat, making a super 90s gesture. WHAT-EVERRRRR!!!!!! Man, that takes me back to the 5th-6th grade!

But yeah, about the show...I had to wonder what Canadians think of it. Like I know when I see tourist shows about Hawaii, I always find them funny because it’s always over saturated with typical tropical island type stuff and not truly and accurate showing of what Hawaii is really like. I wonder if it’s the same way for Canadians…maybe they think it’s a good show for tourists but not an accurate representation of true Canadian life? If there are any Canadians out there reading my TR, I would love to hear your opinions.

Next we shopped in Mouse Gear for a bit then used our Fast Pass for Soarin. This time we were seated in the 2nd row. It was at this point when we parted ways. I went back to the hotel while Kris stayed to watch Illuminations. She had never seen it before. I had seen it once in 1997 and that was good enough for me. Not really big on light/water shows (Fantasmic doesn't count). Kris is trying to convince me that we should visit Disneyland in 2013. I tell her that Disney World is way better and aside from the Indiana Jones Ride and the Nemo sub, there really isn't anything there that is that much better. She brings up the fact that we have not seen the World of Color but I've watched it on Youtube and it doesn't look that great.

Also at some point, we took Photopass pictures.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1881.jpg

Took this photo on the way back to our hotel. Every single day coming back to Pop, I attempted to get a good photo of this sign. Out of all the days, this was the best one I got.

I decided to eat dinner in the room. I had chicken Cesar salad, veggie soup, and a white chocolate raspberry cookie. I stupidly didn’t ask for a cover for the soup so walking back to the room while holding the tray was quite a challenge. Also, it was faster to walk back through the gift shop and past the bus stop to get back to our room so everyone in the gift shop and at the bus stop got a good look at me walking slowly and steadily, attempting to balance my soup. Oh man, and then halfway there, I realized I forgot a spoon so I had to turn around, walk steadily back to spill as little as possible, grab a spoon, and do the trek all over again. Oh and when I finally got to the room, I realized I didn't have my key out so I had to put the tray down, get my key out and put it in the lock, open the door and stop it from closing with my foot, pick the tray back up, then finally put it down on the table. It doesn't sound like much but that uncapped soup put such a damper on my in-room dinner plan. But the girl working the counter looked so grouchy, I just really didn't want to anger her by asking for a lid! Still, it's not like she could have spit in my food in anger, because I already had it on my tray. Hmm...oh well. DUMB!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1883.jpg

My dinner.

After eating, I took a bath and called mom to tell her about how my day went. She was really upset that Kris and I separated. I guess she thought the Disney thugs were going to get her or she was going to get lost...or something. Keep in mind that Kristina and I are 20 and 23 years old. I know however, if it was the other way around…if I had stayed and Kristina had gone back to the room, she wouldn’t have been upset. It’s weird…because in a lot of ways, Kris is more responsible than I am even though I am older. Mom told me to tell Kris to call her when she got back just she could know that Kris was still alive.

At 9:45 p.m. Kris came back. I guess she somehow managed to evade the Disney thugs. She picked on some of my leftover salad scraps and decided she wanted one for herself so off to the food court we went. I also ended up getting more food…hard boiled eggs and cheese cake. Kris asked me why I was so into hard boiled eggs all of a sudden and why didn’t I eat them at home. I told her I didn’t know how to make them. I know!!! Sad right??? But yeah! I've never boiled eggs in my entire life!

That was pretty much it.

Hm, I'll bet the guy who walked by afterwards was the guy who was making the calls. I know the numbers for the phones are around here somewhere on the boards...I know some people like to call the booths for fun but I could never do it. It would just make me sad that I wasn't there but this person that I am talking to is!

Have you ever called the booths before? What did the people on the other end say?

No I haven't. The number is always left at home. I should bring it next time and call my DD. She would love that.

Thanks for joining in! I'm sure your trip will be fun! I've always wanted to experience Disney through the eyes of a small child. I am constantly telling my sister that she needs to have children someday so I can take my niece/nephew to Disney. Then she brings up the point that she is only 20 years old and I joke that she is just making excuses :rotfl2: .

Day 6.1

March 20, 2011

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1897.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1902.jpg

So we got to Epcot a little after 8:00 a.m. Kris and I were just chatting when the guy in front of us noticed our Lime Green Mickey Head name tags. Apparently he was a member of the DIS too! I believe his user name was Surfer Dave or something like that but I have never been able to find him. So Surfer Dave, if you are out there...hello!

I kind of felt embarrassed because prior to noticing our heads, Kristina and I were having some sarcastic, cynical conversation, that probably wasn’t very "Disney Friendly". Some DISsers would probably be offended by it or whatever. Ha ha, oh well, the damage was done. It's not like we wear swearing up a storm or saying anything derrogatory. We were just being silly...and sarcastic...and cynical. Idk, it was fun! Don't judge! Can't be Disney friendly 100% of the time. :rotfl2:

Anyway, the Dis-er was from Georgia and was there with his wife and daughter. They got there the day after us and were leaving the day before us. His wife showed us some of the pictures they had taken so far. The day before, they were at the Magic Kingdom and their daughter had the opportunity to pull the sword out from the stone! Very cool.

When the park opened, Kris and I bee lined it for Test Track and pretty much walked right on. We didn’t even watch the pre show. After the family of the day, we were the first car to go. The man sitting behind us commented to his kid that the ride was like driving with mom. I had to laugh because I remember saying the same thing 3 years earlier. We got a Fastpass for later in the day and re-rode it again because the line was still short.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1917.jpg

After riding Test Track again, we got Fast Passes for Mission Space. We planned to do that as our very last attraction. Last time, we ended up getting nauseous from the ride and the nausea lasted the whole entire day. We figured if we got nauseous again, it wouldn’t be so bad because we could just sleep it off at the hotel.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1935.jpg

Our next stop was the World Showcase. We bypassed Mexico and Norway for China because I really wanted to meet Mulan, my most favorite Disney character ever! It was an okay meet and greet I guess. Somehow I was expecting more…but what that more was, I can’t really say. I guess...a less rushed character experience? So far, the only face character meet that didn't feel like we were being rushed along due to our lack of small children was our meet with Aladdin and Jasmine the previous day. Anyway, since we are half Chinese, Kristina told Mulan that we were of the Chang family dynasty or something like that since it's our mom's maiden name. Ha ha! I also told Mulan that I knew that deep down inside, she wasn't super girly so we should pose like warriors instead. So we did!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/photopass/Photo0139FourBySix.jpg

After meeting Mulan, we browsed around China. The mini terra cotta army was pretty cool. The woman running one of the merchandise areas looked like she really hated her job. I feel like she was probably annoyed with me when I posed with her umbrellas but didn't actually buy one. She reminded me of just a regular old trinket saleswoman you’d see in the Chinatown at home. I must admit, I actually appreciated her lack of enthusiasm. It made China seem a little more authentic.

Great photo of Mulan! I know what you mean about getting rushed- it happened to us too. At least you got to meet her... I'm jealous! I love Mulan too, but we didn't have the time to wait in the long line to meet her. So annoying about having barely any Mulan merchandise, right?! I searched everywhere and all I could find was the things you have.

You're so lucky living in Hawaii- I have always wanted to go there. How many hours is the flight to Florida for you? For us it's nine hours... and that was bad enough! ;)

Can't wait for your next update! :yay:

I live on the west coast of canada and have been to WDW 3 times and have seen both canada movies in the pavillion. The original movie they showed was from the early 70's and didn't portray canada in truth. It was all about how we all play hockey and ice fish and other crap like that but the new movie portrays us in a more real light, still a bit cheesy but much better then the original. I agree with you about WDW but you should still check out DL because it is still a good park and CA is pretty cool as well and the world of color is way better seeing it live then on youtube. You also don't need as much time to see everything in both parks, a week at the most is all you need.
Take care and enjoyed reading your TR.

Yay! Good to hear a Canadian's opinion on the Canada movie. You are right, Disneyland isn't terrible...I just have to differentiate it from Disney World, not compare it, and like it for what it is.

Oh, it was really ghetto but it did the job. I grabbed a bunch of LGMH Paint samples from the Home Depot, stuck 2 together, wrote my name on one side and cell phone number on the other. Then I covered the whole thing with tape to ghetto-tasticly "laminate" it. Finally I punched a hole in the thing and strung some yarn through it. Pretty simple really! :)

That is so cool you met another DISer in line for the bus. I think it's hilarious though that you two weren't really having a Disney friendly conversation beforehand :rotfl: Don't worry that sounds exactly like something my family would do too, it really is hard to be Disney friendly 24/7:rolleyes1

So glad you met Mulan too!! She's so awesome, but yeah I hate it when the characters seem rushed. It's kind of annoying they don't feel the need to spend as much time with us older kids!

Hi Kellie,

Your TR is just too funny. :thumbsup2 You and your sister have so much fun. Don't feel sad about being to far from the next visit. Just think...the next time you are at the World, the fantansyland renovation will be complete.

Although I can't imagine to take such long flight to get to the Orlando. The last time I took such long flight was flying from Hong Kong to U.S. I think the entire flight took over 24 hours. We flew from Hong Kong to Japan then to Alaska then to Seattle then to New York.

I think it's great to see an adult able to enjoy the World like a kid. Some time I wish I can do that but I am too busy taking pictures. ;) Then again, people might think I am too creepy. :lmao:

Keep up the good work. You can count on me follow along.

BTW, which part of Hawaii you are living at? I always want to see the Pearl Harbor monument and the volcano. And I love Spam. I heard Hawaii is famous for Spam and egg for breakfast. Is that true??

I live on Oahu, the same island that Pearl Harbor is on. The active volcano is on the Big Island. Yes, you are correct about the spam! Spam, eggs, and rice are definitely a staple breakfast here. You can even order it at our McDonalds. Although to be honest, I've never cared for spam or rice! When people here find this out, they tell me that I should go move to the Mainland. :rotfl2:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1985.jpg

It was okay I guess…well actually I’m lying. It was under whelming. I mean yeah it was cute and all but I feel like the overuse of the TV screens was just plain lazy on the imagineers' part. Either that or their budget was utter crap. Does anyone remember what the ride was like before the 3 Caballeros remodel? I only rode it once and can't really remember it but I definitely know there weren't an abundance of TV screens. Right? Hmm...maybe my memory deceives me... Were there more animatronics? Anyway, Kris commented that she wanted to eat in Mexico someday because it smelled delicious. I told her we had chips and salsa at home.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_1995.jpg

Except pose with this awesome Pickle Tree. When I was a kid, my friend had this book called "Pickle Things" and one of the lines was ..."Pickle things you never see like pickles on a Christmas Tree."

I loved that book. Loved Loved LOVED it! I would read it every time I went over to her house because it was that good. It got to the point where I memorized the entire book (and to this day I still remember a good portion of the lines). One day she hid it from me because she grew annoyed with me reading it so much. I still bring that book up to this day and took this picture to show her that yes indeed, there WAS such a thing as pickles on a Christmas Tree!

Also there were buildings to pose with.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2000.jpg

Also I bought this book. The cover intrigued me. It is definitely a book geared toward 4th-7th graders but I really enjoyed int nonetheless! It's a back story of the Wicked Queen and how she became so evil.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2003.jpg

Also we saw this.

Then we went to Japan to to browse and kill time before the 1:30 p.m. showing of the American Adventure. I noticed that Miyuki wasn’t there even though the times guide said she would be. It made sense. When we saw her the day before, she did seem a little under the weather. I guess today she called in sick?

I doubt it. Some of the rares used to go for $100 back in the day but now the most they go for is around the $20 mark.

I still have yet to ride the Maelstrom. It looks like such a cool ride but every time I pass it the line is ridiculous for some reason.

Love the comment about having chips and salsa at home:rotfl:

That pickle book looks familiar, I think I might have read that when I was little too.

Love your picture with Pikachu! He was always my favorite Pokemon, I was obsessed with him.

I think I'm the only person in the whole world who never particularly cared for Pikachu. But he is the freaking mascot of Pokemon so I took a picture with him anyway :rotfl2:

Nope, didn't have any of the caramel treats. I'll keep them in mind for a future trip definitely! Idk when the remodel was done but it was that way in our 2008 trip so you must have seen the remodel. It wasn't literal TV screens but y'know...screens displaying animation instead of real animatronics.

Here I am, back after a nearly 2 month hiatus! Sorry guys, had a lot on both my plate and my mind...haven't been feeling very "Disney" as of late but I am back and I will finish this report! The year is almost over for gosh sakes...time sure flies! Don't know if I still have readers left at this point after being gone for so long but if you are still here, hello! And a big hello to any new comers as well!

Day 6.3

March 20, 2011

So after the American Adventure was over, we headed to Morocco where Kris proceeded to sit in the Fez House while I browsed around.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2008.jpg

Really. She just sat there. Morocco is the COOLEST place to browse around! I don't get her.

I noticed that the Aladdin and Jasmines at the meet and greet were different from the ones we had met. This Aladdin looked a little more like how I figured Aladdin should look because he was darker but that’s okay. Our meet and greet was still SUPER awesome! I thought about getting some lunch at Morocco’s quick service food place but I didn’t know what some of the menu items looked like so I decided against it. Looking back on it, I wish I had been brave and just ordered something. Really, when am I ever going to get the chance to eat Moroccan food again?

We stopped in France because Kris wanted to go to the Patisserie again. I nabbed some indoor seats while she bought herself an apple tart and a strawberry tart. She liked the strawberry tart better but preferred yesterday’s Napoleon over both of them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2011.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2010.jpg

While we were sitting, I noticed some tween trying to get her mom to buy her a beret. The mom asked where she was ever going to wear it and the girl said she would wear it on Hat Day which I’m guessing is some sort of school spirit day. Back in high school, we used to have spirit days during Homecoming week. I couldn’t help but think that after the school spirit day was over, she would never wear the beret again and it would just end up in the back of her closet where all items you wear only once go to die. The mom and I were on the same wavelength I guess because she ended up not getting the beret. The tween proceeded to whine but the mom didn’t give in. Is it bad that I felt pleased that the tween didn’t get her way? SERIOUSLY! SHE WAS NEVER GOING TO WEAR THAT BERET AGAIN, I JUST KNOW IT!

(On a completely random note, I don’t think I’ve ever typed the word “tween” until today. End randomness.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/photopass/Photo0150FourBySix.jpg

When Kris was through with her snack ,we went to the Imagination area of the park and watched Captain Eo. The pre show movie reeked of 80’s awesomeness. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the 80’s-tastic workout garb and hair! I thought it was interesting that the pre show hardly included Michael Jackson. I think they only had one brief picture of him. I guess it was a good way to build the suspense or something? During the actual movie, when he finally made his big onscreen reveal, practically the whole audience cheered. I was wondering if people would do that. I figured they wouldn’t because at this point, Michael Jackson’s death is kind of old news already. Ah well. Anyway it was a really good movie. Cheesy yes but really good nonetheless. Hooter was just too cute! Ugh, the only junk thing about the show was that the man sitting next to me reeked of mild B.O.

Here we have Kris, doing a signature Michael Jackson pose.

After the show, we rode Figment. I held my nose during the skunk part. I remember really hating the smell the last time. Kris breathed normally though. I asked her what it smelt like and she said it smelt not bad…kind of like a tuna sandwich.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2030.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2033.jpg

I bought this shirt. I love it!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2031.jpg

I have no idea what compelled my sister to name it Jaffy. I asked her about it and even she doesn't know! She just typed anything that popped into her head.

Next we went to the Living Seas. There really was a really cute geekish looking dude with a 90s haircut manning the loading area. He waved at us as our shell passed him and I gushed for a good 1.5 seconds. Ha ha! I pointed him out to Kris. She kind of smirked and dryly asked me why I didn’t think he was too skinny. For the most part, I generally don’t fancy skinny dudes but there are always a few exceptions to the rule. This guy was definitely an exception. I have a thing for geeks (mainly because I am one myself) and also a thing for 90’s guy hair cuts. I hoped to cross paths with him one more time during our vacation but alas, I never saw him again.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2043.jpg

After the ride was over, we saw Turtle Talk with Crush. I was surprised to see a bunch of benches. Up until that point, I had only experienced the California Adventure version of the attraction and from what I remember, they had movie theatre level style seating. One kid annoyed me. He asked Crush if he had a kid. OF COURSE he does! Everyone knows that! I thought it was a huge-tastic waste of a question. The last kid to ask a question cancelled out the annoying-nosity of the other kid. He asked Crush if he had any Legos. Coolest…kid…EVER!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2063.jpg

When the show was over, we walked around and looked at all the tanks…making sure not to get too far out of each others sight. The cell phone reception in the Seas is pretty much nonexistent and we didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying to find each other again after separating. The dolphin pushing the ball with his nose was really cute! I also ran into the DIS guy again. I faintly heard someone saying <i>“jelly arms”</i> and then I heard it again even louder. When I turned, he and his wife were resting on the floor while their daughter played. The seemed pooped! Again, Surfer Dave, if you are out there, (over 6 months after the trip I have still not run into you on the boards) hello!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2054.jpg

After looking around, we explored one side of Innoventions. We played some Piggy Bank game that taught you how to save money and we also did some sort of fire safety quiz. I didn’t really care for either of the activities. We then did this thing where you could input yourself into a video game. THAT was really cool! So cool that I actually went back in line to do it again. Kris amused herself by watching a worker trying to help a 2 year old and a grandma play the game. They clearly weren’t getting it. The kid was way too young and the grandma had clearly never played a video game in her life. The dude running the exhibit seemed pretty frustrated with them.

Kris, telling me to hurry up and play

After such a long day, we still had yet to use our Fast Passes. We ultimately decided not to use the ones from Mission Space. We just didn’t want to risk feeling sick again. We ended up not even riding it at all during our trip. No regrets though. But still…what a waste of a Fast Pass.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2083.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2080.jpg

We did use the ones for Test Track though. While in line, a family in the single rider line hopped the rail and cut in front of us. They didn’t speak English (or maybe they did but not fluently…I think they were French)? but even if they did, I was too afraid to say anything. It wouldn’t even matter because we’d all be funneled into the pre show room anyway. Still, I was pissed. Apparently so was the man behind me. He complained to the woman collecting the Fast Passes but really, what could she do?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2077.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2084.jpg

Took this on the way out of the park. We copied our Mulan pose from earlier in the day.

Finally we headed back to Pop and ate dinner. In the food line, Kris, the man standing in front of her, and I had annoying salad issues. When I say annoying I mean annoying for the guy preparing them. The man wanted dressing on the side. Kris wanted light dressing. I wanted no dressing. Well, actually that’s a lie, I just didn’t want the Caesar dressing, I wanted to use the packaged Italian dressing. You know if you think about it, me not wanting dressing should have actually made his job easier. One less task involved. Still, you could tell he was annoyed. Ha ha oh well! Along with our Caesar salads, Kris got a turkey ciabatta sandwich and I got a cup of creamy tomato soup. Everything was delicious! After dinner we went back to the room where we thought about doing laundry but ultimately decided against it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%205-6/IMG_2088.jpg

Kris's sandwich. Not posting pictures of the salad because it's the same as the day before's picture.

Yay, another reader! Hope things aren't too busy that you can't enjoy the holidays. Actually though, do they celebrate that in Korea? Not necessarily in the religous sense but in the secular "hang all the festive holiday decorations" sense? Kind of like how Japan does?

Day 7.1

March 21, 2011

Today was our first MGM day! It will always be MGM Studios to me, no matter how many times they tell me it's Hollywood Studios. Who is this “they” you ask? No one really. Ha ha! Anyway back to the subject.

While walking to the turnstiles, I was disappointed to see scaffolding covering the Tower of Terror. It kind of ruins the eerie factor but no biggie. The ride has to get spruced up sometime! Anyway, we were in line by 8:10 a.m. and the park didn't even open till 9:00a.m. As a result of our early arrival, we ended up being the first ones in line. That was really cool!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2091.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2096.jpg

Boo to the scaffolding!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2101.jpg

Yay for Chewy Bars and...pointing at nothing! Actually I think maybe I was holding up one finger to show that I was number one in line.

When the park finally opened, we bee lined to Rockin Roller Coaster. I rode it with my glasses on which in retrospect, probably wasn't the smartest idea. I could feel them nearly flying off my face as we were riding so with one hand, I held them in place. Yes yes, dumb I know, but really, how else was I supposed to take in all the sights?! Anyway, when the ride was over, we grabbed some Fast Passes for it to ride later. The line was still fairly short so we rode it again. This time, I took my glasses off. I didn't have a case for it though so I had to just stick them in one of my many backpack pockets and just prayed that they wouldn't break.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2109.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2119.jpg

Next we headed over to the Tower of Terror. The sign showed a 10 minute wait time so we got in line but as soon as we did, it immediately changed to 65 minutes. I don't know what Kristina was thinking. She actually wanted to wait! DUMB!!! I suggested we just get Fast Passes. She was annoyed with this idea but begrudgingly agreed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2121.jpg

Also at some point we too the above picture.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2120.jpg

Also this picture.

Our next stop was Toy Story Mania where we were saw that the wait time was 70 minutes. Kris was pissed that we couldn't grab Fast Passes until 10:20 a.m. (It was 9:50 a.m.) Ugh, she really annoyed me for a moment there. She was just mad that we didn't stand in that long line for Tower of Terror. But I seriously was NOT going to wait in a 65 minute line for a ride I didn't even like! The only reason I even planned on riding it was because of our deal made before the trip: She would sit by the strangers on the airplane more times than I had to if I in return agreed to ride the Tower of Terror with her. Anyway, to kill time until 10:20, we walked through One Man's Dream. Kris stayed to watch the movie while I went to grab Fast Passes the exact moment I was able to.

Okay, tell me I am not the only person in the whole world who probably would have had a crush on Walt if we were both teenagers at the same time! He was kind of a looker I think.

When Kris was done with One Man's Dream, we headed over to the Animation building where we met Sorcerer Mickey. I loved this Mickey! Out of all the Mickeys we met, this seemed the most excited to meet us. Err...I mean...what am I saying? I meant to say that today, Mickey seemed more enthusiastic than usual...because there is only ONE Mickey and...err..yeah! Ha ha! Anyway, back to the subject. Mickey was awesome. Also, since we were wearing Disney shirts, he pointed at them with excitement.

That ride was pretty fun! I didn't think I'd think it was all that great as I'm generally not a fan of point and shoot type arcade games but it was better than I thought.

I will always call it MGM too! That's so funny about Walt, I'm always saying I think he was very attractive when he was younger!

Also, I just booked Pop! for our arrival night before we head over to OKW for the week in January. What would you say are the must dos and eats there? I am planning on skipping dinner on the way down when the rest of my family eats so I can try the food court later that night!

Also, I just booked Pop! for our arrival night before we head over to OKW for the week in January. What would you say are the must dos and eats there? I am planning on skipping dinner on the way down when the rest of my family eats so I can try the food court later that night!

Hm, I honesly can't really give you any must dos. We didn't spend much time at the resort...we were just there to eat dinner and sleep. There was a really nice path overlooking a lake and the new hotel their building that we walked on our first day...it was really peaceful. I'm also no help with the food. I ate the Cesar salad pretty much every night! I'm not much for variety. If I find something I like, I will stick with it forevermore. Sorry I'm not much of a help! It's a really great hotel though, I would definitely stay there again.

I am definitely looking forward to being able to see the Art of Animation resort from there. Caesar salad sounds yummy to me!

Day 7.2

March 21, 2011

After meeting Mickey, we stood in line for Lotso. I thought it was really cool that they had themed the queue to look like Sunnyside Daycare. When we finally got to meet the evil bear, I told him that I was afraid of him. He did this thing where he kind of slumped over in sadness. It was too cute! I ended up giving him a hug anyway. He was so squishy and really did smell like strawberries!

Yes, I meant to pose that way. He is EVIL!!!! I don't trust him.

After that, we browsed around the Animation building a bit more. We played with a voice over machine and did this quiz to see what Disney character we were most like. Kris and I both ended up getting Belle. I didn't think that was accurate at all! I remember taking the quiz 5 years ago at California Adventure. I got Ariel. That one wasn't accurate either. Ah well. What can you do?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2173.jpg

I had to take a picture of that figurine because it amused me that they showed Belle marrying the Beast in Beast form. That was really cool...you totally knew she was going to marry him anyway, even if she didn't know there was the possibility of him turning back into a human.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2171.jpg

Had to take a picture of that because it is a rare gem to find stuff with Mulan on it!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2170.jpg

I was trying to copy Mulan. Me kicking the Brother Bear guy (can't remember his name) was unintentional. Actually, I kind of wish I was facing my kick the other way. I can't stand Lilo and Stitch!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2172.jpg

I took a picture of the How to Draw Princess book because they were selling it for $15. I bought the same exact book in late 2009 for $2.00 at our local discount items store. The markup here was INSANE!

Why did I buy that book? No it wasn't for some kid. It was for ME! I like to draw fanart of random shows/books/games/tv shows in my spare time and I post it on an art site called Deviant Art Where other people post their art as well.

I am going to take this time to not so shamelessly plug some of my doodles. There are def. some flaws there but I only do this for fun.

http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/019/d/a/He_Might_Be_From_Norway_by_JelloArms.jpg

I came up with the idea for the above drawing after reading an article where the artist theorized that the Beast could possibly be a Prince from Norway (thus explaining why no one seems to realize he's there). You can check it out at the link if you want...it's a really good article!

http://www.deviantart.com/download/89612134/Spirit_of_Tokyo_Disneyland_by_JelloArms.jpg

I drew the above after my sister came back from Tokyo Disneyland. They were celebrating their 25th Anniversary and their mascot was Mickey holding a similar looking key. I just made some random Sailor Moon-y looking girl holding the key, and threw in some elements of certain Disney Princesses in there too.

http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs38/i/2008/341/8/6/Gaston_the_Lad_by_JelloArms.jpg

I don't care too much for how Gaston came out in the above drawing. The anatomy annoys me. That's okay though...all in fun.

If you are really intereted, you can check out my actual Deviant Art page at the below link to see more things I've drawn. It's not the greatest by any means but I just do it for fun. Drawing fanart is a huge hobby of mine.

Anyway, back to the subject!

After we got done with the quiz, we rode the Great Movie Ride. After the ride, Kris wanted to watch Disney Channel Live so I went back and rode the Great Movie Ride again. I'm so glad I did because I ended up with the gangster taking over our car! I was sooo happy! I hadn't had the gangster since 2001...possibly even before that. I somehow got it into my head that they'd discontinued the gangster and only did the takeover in the Wild West scene. That was a really cool surprise.

You do some amazing art. Thanks for sharing.
I think I heard that they run the gangster all the time and only at busy times they use the cowboy too. It's been so long since I rode it, but I think over the years I have had both.

I like the Gangster scene better. There's something darker about the gangster scene that I just can't put my finger on but ah well. I like it better. And thanks for the compliment on my drawings!

Day 7.3

(I'm doing a double update tonight to make up for my lack of not being here in almost 2 weeks so I will be posting 7.4 right after. Don't miss it!)

March 21, 2011

I met up with Kristina again and we went over to the 50's Prime Time Cafe for our 12:45 p.m. reservation. I was really excited. For one, it was our first sit down meal and two, I love the 50s! Well...I love the way it's portrayed in the media anyway.

After about a 20 minute wait, we were given a table. Our “cousin” was cute and I definitely don't have any complaints but I was secretly hoping for a grouchy aunt or uncle server. Oh well. At one point, our “cousin” reprimanded me for having my elbows on the table so from that moment on, every time she would pass by, I'd make sure to remove them. I can't help it! Putting my elbows on the table is a habit already. Who decided elbows on the table is rude anyhow? I don't get why it is. Anyway I ordered a turkey sandwich with chips and Kris ordered a strawberry shake and fish sandwich with fries. Iit took a while for the food to come but it was okay. It was fun just watching how the other servers interacted with their tables. One “aunt” told a kid to sit up because he looked like Quasimodo. Another “cousin” at a different table told a group of college age looking kids to put away their cell phones (they were all texting) because it was the 1950s and these things don't exist. She said that back then, people had these things called conversations. I thought that was hilarious! Eventually the food arrived and everything was delicious.

We decided it would be dumb to do Rockin Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror right away so we looked in some shops for a bit. I was VERY disappointed in the Villains in Vogue store. There was nothing villainous about it. It was pretty much just Vinylmation stuff. At 3:00 p.m. The Pixar Play Parade started. I love the song, it was so catchy. ...”I...don't wanna work...I just wanna bang on the drums all day...” So true! Work sucks. But how the heck else am I supposed to get funding for trips to Disney?

After the parade, we shopped a bit more. We also stopped to watch some Citizens of Hollywood. They were some sort of city maintenance team consisting of a boss and 2 knuckleheads. They were supposed to be spraying this tree along the street with Chemical A (Acid) but they kept accidentally spraying the audience. The other knucklehead had to respray the audience with Chemical B (Better Chemical). As the guy with Chemical B ran around spraying everyone, he yelled “SAVE THE PEOPLE! SAVE THE PEOPLE!” It was really funny. More silliness ensued. I would have taped it but I didn't want to get chemicals (really it was water) on my camera.

Day 7.4

March 21, 2011

So after the Parade, we watched Muppet Vision. By the way, you HAVE to watch the new Muppets movie if you haven't already. It's really good!

Finally, it was time to use our Fast Pass for Toy Story Mania. I honestly wasn't expecting much because I'm not really a fan of point and shoot type video games. Alas, it was actually really fun! Kris got more points but I had a higher accuracy rate.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2268.jpg

I had one of those View Finders as a kid. Also, Peter Pan is my favorite Disney male!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2293.jpg

Also used a Fast Pass to ride that again.

Next we rode the Tower of Terror. The man standing in front of me in the pre-show room reeked of B.O. I was a little nervous and not looking forward to the ride at all but I sucked it up. We ended up in the 3rd row. I screamed like a crazy person but the ride wasn't as horrible as I remember it being. It was even...dare I say...fun? In fact, I didn't mind it so much that I even agreed to stand in line again to re-ride. The wait was only 30 minutes. The ride attendant told us to stand in Row 2 on the loading platform so I thought that meant we were going to be in the 2nd row. But then Kris pointed out the seating chart posted above the elevator and I realized that Loading Row 2 actually gets loaded into Seating Row 1. I was all like...”Oh. (insert pause) Oh. (insert pause). That's not good.” I wish you could read tone on paper because I promise it was a lot funnier than it sounds in text. Anyway I was a bit nervous to be right up in front but it wasn't bad at all!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2289.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2292.jpg

I recorded our ride experience.

At this point, it was about 7:00 p.m. So we decided to sit down for the 8:30 p.m. showing of Fantasmic. There was a million billion gnats flying around. I don't know where they came from! Do they live in the lake? I put on the my jacket hood because I didn't want them getting in my hair. To pass the time until the start of the show, I played Tetris on my DS and people watched. There was this one guy selling beer and every time someone would give him money for a beer he would say “Come on baby. One more beer.” Or something along those lines anyway. I don't know why I'm even talking about him but he just really stuck out to me. I could tell that he really enjoyed his job. Finally the show started and as expected, it was super awesome! I just love that show so much!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2295.jpg

I love that Pocahontas is incorporated into Disney World's version of Fantasmic! It's really an under appreciated movie. People don't like it because it's more mature but that's exactly what I do like about it! Same goes for Hunchback of Notre Dame.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2298.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/jelloarms/dis%20world%202011/days%207-8/IMG_2311.jpg

When the show was over, we literally ran to catch the bus. Our running paid off because we ended up being back at Pop by 9:20 p.m. We were a little hungry so we each got something small. Kris got apple slices with caramel dip and I got hard boiled eggs and a salad. I don't like the taste of the yolks so I picked them all out.

You've never seen Fantasmic before? Wow, you really should! It's quite excellent! Basically the Indians fight the settlers until Pocahontas comes and saves the day or something along those lines.

Day 8.1

March 22, 2011

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

This morning, I decided to leave my jacket behind so my bag wouldn't be as fat. I really only used it during the first couple hours of the day anyway and after that, it became dead weight. Well, not really weight...more like dead space. The jacket itself was not heavy. Kris had been getting by the whole time with never bringing her jacket anywhere, I was sure I'd be fine. Getting through those first few hours was tough though. I was FREEZING! The Diet Coke that I was drinking only proceeded to make things worse. But I couldn't NOT drink it! I needed that caffeine boost! To try and keep warm, I did the Peanuts Christmas Special dance.

Basically I did the dance that the twin girls do, as well as the boy in the yellow shirt. NO ONE WAS AROUND! Well except Kris but she doesn't count. SO NO ONE WAS AROUND!

We got to the Magic Kingdom by 7:00 a.m. Just like the day before, we were the first ones in line! This was pretty much the common theme for the rest of the trip. I am not ashamed to admit that I was super jealous when the people standing directly behind us were chosen to be Family of the Day. Ugh! Don't the Disney people know that I am still a young child who happens to unfortunately be wrapped up in adult packaging?!?! Blargh!!! I told Kris that she needed to get on it and have a kid so that someday, we'll have a chance of getting picked. She replied that she was only 20. EXCUSES!!!

Our first ride of the day was the Teacups. We rode it 2 times in a row because there was no wait. Honestly, the only reason I really rode this was not because I had a burning desire to ride it. Mostly I just wanted a picture of me in the teacup. Ha ha!

I got in line to see Rapunzel at 8:20 a.m. even though she wasn't coming out till 9:15 a.m. She was really popular and I didn't want to risk not meeting her. Kris went to go get Fast Passes for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and also rode Autopia. I passed the time by catching up on my trip notes. Eventually we finally got to meet Flynn Ryder and Rapunzel. BEST...MEET & GREET...EVER!!! Seriously! The best one of the whole trip. They were just spot on...they looked exactly how I imagined the characters would look in real life and their acting was spot on too. I loved how they didn't try to rush us along simply because we weren't little kids. We were the only adults in line who were not there because of their kids.

I asked Flynn if he preferred being called Flynn or his real name Eugene Fitzherbert. He prefers Flynn. Rapunzel said she only calls him Eugene when she's mad at him. Rapunzel also commented that she liked the design on our shirts and that she liked to paint. Flynn tried to impress us with the look of smolder but it only worked on Kristina. Ha ha!

Here I am, putting up my arms to repel the smolder.

I think Rapunzel and I were discussing art.

Ha ha! Couldn't resist making that with the Photopass site. She totally fell for the smolder!

After meeting Flynn and Rapunzel, we headed over to Adventureland to meet Aurora, Cinderella, and yellow dress Belle. Aurora didn't look like how I'd picture Aurora in my head. Cinderella looked about right. Belle looked like Belle except about 10-15 years older than she was in the movie. Ha ha! All 3 Princesses looked at our Ariel shirts and asked us if we had met her yet. Even the Photopass girl commented on our shirts and wondered where we got them.

Love the morning of meet and greets! I'm glad your experience with Rapunzel and Flynn was great. Flynn wasn't there when we visited in July, but Rapunzel was great.

Yeah, I heard they got rid of him shortly after my stay. :sad2: It's too bad, he was really cool!

Giving this a bump, I know how easy it is to let RL get in the way of finishing these things. It took me 10 months to finish mine.

I loved the Rapunzel and Flynn interaction and the whole princess experience. Hope to see more! :thumbsup2
