I ordered the above lens over the weekend for my Nikon D60, can't wait to play with it!
Anyone had any experience with it?

Hello BecBennett!
Congratulations on your purchase. I had the pleasure of borrowing it (the Canon) version from a friend recently. It was a nice lens and convinced me to get a UWA for myself.
If you haven't already found it, there is a thread on this board somewhere (probably not too far from the top of the page) where the UWA lens shooters share their pix.
Can't wait to see your pictures on that thread!

I've got LOTS of experience with this lens - had it for 2 years now, and thousands of frames...it's been wonderful through two camera bodies, and really gives me a whole new perspective on some subjects and places I photographed a dozen times already...of course, it's gotten quite a workout at Disney.
Here are my 10-24mm galleries - 7 pages, 40 to a page, of just about every kind of shot imaginable that I've taken with this lens:

Thank you! It was an awesome day, and totally worth the hassle of organising it!
I've been looking through the UWA thread, and loving the pics! It's gotten me really excited for it to turn up... Now I play the waiting game...

Thanks for your link, I've been looking at a few of your pics in the UWA thread, they're awesome!
Do you find that the soft edges when it's wide open are noticeable? Or is it only when you zoom into those areas?

Not particularly - I'd say it would only be noticeable when you are shooting at the widest apertures, at the widest end of the lens, and then mostly when you zoom in to view close. It's also somewhat to do with how you compose - if you end up putting very detailed things in the corners of the frame with wide open apertures (like tree branches with leaves, or writing/letters on signs or buildings), then you'll notice the softness much more. When stopped down on the aperture a bit, the corners sharpen up considerably like with most ultrawides.

Have fun! I picked one up yesterday at Ritz. Took a few pictures indoors, as it was pouring rain all day. Today I was going to take it hiking but it was very cloudy and the trail steep- didn't need the extra weight of a dslr so I took my p&s. It turned out to be a good call because the top of the mountain was in the clouds. Couldn't see 30ft.
