Gotta love "demanded the film out of the camera".

Anyway, I know we've seen threads around here about photographer's rights and copyrights, etc, but I couldn't find them this morning.

I thought this was interesting that, at the scene of a fire, police apparently sided with the photographer here.

It probably could have gone the other way where the photographer was asked to leave, perhaps. (It doesn't say if this was a photographer with the fire dept or what.)

Easy to understand emotions running high for the property owner in a situation like that.

Of course, the darker side of me thinks that someone doing an insurance job would also want to avoid having detailed photographs of the conflagration, but I would never suggest that something like that had happened here. :rolleyes1

The photographer has the right to take those photos from the street so long as the police and fire depts had no problem where he was shooting from. If he was on the home owners property, that may get a bit dicey.

I don't think the photographer was wrong in telling the home owner that he couldn't have his film. I would bet big money that he didn't have any film to give! :lmao:
