Around the millenium Disney had the Tapestry of Nations Parade in Epcot around the World Showcase. This was a really good parade whose music really got into your head. They still play the music as people are leaving the World Showcase after Illuminations. I think it would be nice if it returned.

I would like to be able to get pictures of it now. The camera I used at that time was far from great and the pictures are also far from great. :sad2:

I was still using film back then but but If I can find anything good I will scan them in and try to post them. You can find the whole parade on YouTube

That was absolutely my favorite Disney parade ever. I wish I had ANY pics of it at all. The drums were so thrilling and I loved the Sage of time and the Sprite girl. Disney at its very, very best. I have practically worn out the CD of the music.

I loved that parade! I can still remember some of the stilt people bending down and shaking hands with the kids in the audience. (My youngest son being one of them! :goodvibes)

We only got to see it once, on our first trip with our son. We still talk about it wherever we head down to WDW. Here is an image taken with my first digital camera:

My DH and I still get :scared1: when we think about it. On our earliest trips to WDW we always seemed to get "stuck" in it - with two strollers, tired, often crying kids, getting yelled at for standing in the wrong place, etc. Basically a nightmare for us! :lmao:

Nothing against those that liked it, but the DW and I were thrilled when it was canceled. It was extremely inconvenient for guests not wanting to watch it. It basically shut WS down for two hours a night.

I have never seen this parade but it looks good. However, I am going to sound like a huge buzz kill (just ask my wife, she will confirm :lmao: )...I HATE parades! It seems like I am constantly having to plan my day around avoiding them and not getting stuck somewhere I don't want to stay. Plus with my medical condition, I cannot just find a spot and enjoy the parade. Standing in one spot for the time needed to secure a decent viewing spot. Sitting on the cement is not an option, plus all of the pushing and squeezing in, sends my anxiety through the roof and then my pain spikes.

We actually only stood and watched it once (when I took the above photos). The rest of the time, you are right, it was a pain to get around but at least we could listen to the music!

Lame-o, lame-o ..." :rotfl:.

Pre-digital and I did enjoy the parade but I saw it in late January 2001 and the crowds were almost non-existent!
