I've read posts of great deals at priceline but I'm wondering if you get to know the brand name before you commit. If I want to get my rental car through priceline will I have to commit without knowing if I got Hertz, etc?
Thanks

in a word, yes. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com and you will find all of the answers to your questions.

It's a gamble because you have to take what they give you. If your offer is accepted, that is what you get. I am thinking of trying priceline for a car rental. I really don't care who I rent a car from so I think I may try it. I have used them before for hotels.

I'm tempted to try the car rental that way ,too. But I don't know why rental companies vary in price so much. I would assume it has something to do with dependability. I'd hate to arrive in Orlando at 10 PM and find there's no car waiting!
