help!/recommend dis.resort for family of 5

I am trying to book a resort for 5 people. Could someone please recommend a disney resort for this. I know about booking 2 rooms at all-stars, but we are trying to stay together. Any advice is appreciated!!!:Pinkbounc

You don't give ages, but I'll give you my ideas.

FW Cabins - sleeps six, full kitchen, one bath, bedroom with double bed and bunks, murphy bed in living room. Maid Service. We stayed in these twice when our four children were younger and loved them and the campgrounds. The kitchen was nice for a quick breakfast.

I think a standard room at any deluxe except AKL or WL will give you a day bed (twin size mattress) to put five in a room.

POR has a trundle that pulls out from under one of the double beds, but it is designed for a smaller child (maybe 10 or under).

We have chosen the connecting rooms with our teenagers the last few times and love it. We do not feel like we are separated at all. If anything it's a little like having a suite. We keep the door open between the rooms, even at night. The BEST part of two rooms is two bathrooms. Wonderful with a bunch of teens!

Old Key West has wonderful condo type suites - also, the Beach Club room I had, had two queens and a daybed. Be warned though, the day bed is fairly small.

We stayed at the poly with five and it was great.

You might also want to thing about one of Disney's DVC resorts, even renting points and getting a one bedroom accomodation, which includes a full kitchen, family room, balcony, etc as opposed to a regular hotel room. The DVC board has alot of into on that.

They won't be able to get a DVC with 5, unless one is a child under three. DVC requires a 2 BDRM for five.

That is not true. When making a reservation for five people in a one bedroom and you tell DVC reservation personell, they say it is fine.

This is a hot topic and could be found under a search. Usually this type of thread gets moved or shut down right away.

We stayed at POR last feb (pres. week), with DDs 16 and 9 and DS 13. We were fine. DS (about 5' at the time) slept on the trundle bed and did not complain. It was nice that we could just roll it under the bed once we rolled him off of it. The sinks are outside of the bathroom, which made getting ready in the morning much easier. I am not sure if they are outside the bathroom at all Polynesian rooms, you may want to check. We requested AB building 14, close to the food court and first bus stop. some of the buildings are a real hike away. We do not spend a lot of time in the room, so although it was not the most spacious place, it worked out well for us in terms of cost and the bus service to the parks was excellent. the food court was also a big plus, very convenient when we got back from the parks and were all too tired to want to do a sit down restaurant. A plate of pasta w/meatballs and a small salad hit the spot!

One more thing, wtrflea, with three minor children they will guarantee connecting rooms. Make sure you say connecting and not adjouning.

We stayed at the Poly last October. Very comfortable and roomy for the 5 of us. Kids wer 10,7 and 4. Sinks were with the toilet and not seperate.

In May we had 3 adults and 2 children(4yo, and 10yo)and we were all very comfy at the BWI. The room had 2 queen beds and a daybed. Your 8yo could easily sleep on it. I would recommend a deluxe resort because the rooms are bigger, if you all want to stay in one room.

Sorry it is taking so long to respond back. Thank you for all your suggestions. We decided to do two rooms at all-stars mu with connecting. I figured with 2 bathrooms I would be better off with this crowd! Thanks again!
