I'm in big trouble....I thought that since October was supposed to be a relatively slow month that I would be able to make reservations with no problem. Boy was I wrong.

My plan was to get a room at the Polynesian using one of the codes....Of course there is nothing available with or without codes. We (me, wife, and 3 girls) are planning on staying 10/5 to 10/12/02. Have checked other on site resorts and have also had no luck.

Is it probable that rooms will come available before we head down? I have read that the Ocala visitors center usually has discounted rooms, does anyone know if this is true? Looks like we may have to stay off site.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My advice: Make a reservation at an off-site "suite" resort(Holiday Inn, Buena Vista Suites, Courtyard, etc), then check back with Disney periodically for the next week(I would probably call every day if it was me). With a party of 5, you are limited to PO-Riverside, or 2 rooms at a value or other moderate resort. And don't hold your breath for a discount that week. We are going the same week(3 different families), and when we tried to find accomodations for friends to join us...let's just say we promised to send them a postcard! Good luck!

A friend jsut returned form an 8 day trip off site. She stayed at the Liki Tiki village. You might want to check it out if you have to stay off site. She said it has it's own small water park. I look at their site and and it sound pretty good for the money. They also sell timeshares so they do have package deals for a good price if want to spend 90 min listening to the sells pitch.

Kepp calling CRO... you might just get lucky but don't count on it. Have a back up plan. As for Ocala, I'ver heard they can only book for a night or 2.Liki Tiki Village (http://www.clubnavigo.com/resorts/orlando.html)

We've stayed at the Marriott Grande Vista, a very nice resort. They have two and three bedroom townhouses. It is next to Sea World. The Vistana is also nice.

Have you tried booking online thru the disney site? I have been able book online when eveything else failed. Sometimes I play with the dates and make changes later if needed. Good luck!!

Did you try Swan/Dolphin? I think that one of those nights was full when I tried for a convention at Marriott World Center (can't go) but other around it were open. It may have opened up for all nights now.

I booked my trip on Sept 23, to stay at All Star Movies on October 3rd - 6th, and I had no problem gettting a room. I think you should try to get one of the All Star Resorts. Even though they aren't nearly as nice as the polynisian and are considered a "value resort" in my opinion, there isn't really a bad disney owned place to stay on the property. Good Luck.

Keep trying but that is columbus day weekend. Disney is having a few conventions and an event at the Wide World Of Sports. I would try to get an off site resort and a car. Can you tweak the dates a little? I think you will have more luck if you go later in October.

Just an FYI, the codes for the fall up to December expired on the 23rd of September
