Lately when I click into the Debate Board, I've been getting pop-ups. Yesterday was Priceline. Today hotels.com. I HATE those things. I was wondering if a webmaster can stop them? And what prompts them? That would pi** me off if I owned a site that sold something and just clicking into my site prompted a pop-up. Seems kind of illegal, doesn't it??

I have heard of a couple of others complain about the popups while on the DIS. I do not get the popups while DISing at home, but I was suprised that I was getting them when I connectied online at WDW  I use AOL on both the desktop and the laptop and popup blocker on neither.

If you are getting pop-ups on the DIS you most likely have spyware on your pc.Things like gator and other garbage plant this in your pc when you download other progarms.Got to Lava soft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/aaw.html) and download(for free) Ad Aware. It will scan your pc and root out the despicable programs.

I agree with RMD -- I used to get them, ran adaware, and don't get them any more.
Thanks for the tip. I just downloaded Ad Aware. I hate that gator program. It's installed itself on my PC three or four times this year

Never gotten a pop up here ever. I don't have a pop up blocker either.

I have used Ad Aware for several months now and really like it. I run it weekly or so. Also make sure you download AND USE the updater, RefUpdate, that keeps it up to date, just like antivirus ware.

I use Pop-up Stopper, and it blocks all pop-up ads for me, except the Geocities ones. But I LOVE it, because pop-up ads tend to freeze my computer.

Thanks for the tips. I DO have Gator. I'm going to try to get rid of it and try the ad aware!
