Does anyone else hate shopping for bras?
I must've spent two hours trying on I don't even know how many...and I didn't come home with a single one!
I don't think I even know what size I am anymore!

Not only do I hate bra shopping but I HATE Bra's! I take that thing off the second I walk in the door. Just slide it out of my sleeve:smooth: !
I am suppose to be a 34B, but some of them just slide all around. Even when they fit in the store they become uncomfortable after about 2 weeks! I have even been fitted by a professional at the store, does NO good!

I fear to post here, for fear it will degrade, but here goes. I rarely wear a bra. I wear a tank top with a shelf bra sometimes, but, being small breasted, I usually just go w/o or wear a normal undershirt. However, I purchased a shirt to wear on my most recent vacation, and it needed a bra (too hot to wear tank tops in Florida). Anyway, I had a coupon for Victoria's Secret for their lined, full coverage bra for $10 if you by something else. Since I was in the market for "something else" I decided to check it out. I figured since I am small busted, a full coverage bra was not what I needed. Man, was I so wrong. It is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. I went back when I got home and bought another one. Now, if I have to wear a bra, I have two that fit and feel great. You should check it out. Well worth the price.

Three words: BODY BY VICTORIA
Well worth the price, just a tc said. I went into the store for my first purchase to check out sizes and now buy them online whenever they have them on sale. My fav is the racer-back front closure...slightly lined, not padded (don't need anything extra thank you very much). So comfy!

I just discovered Vickie's Full Support bras too, tc! Love 'em. I usually hate all bras, and tend to ditch them the minute I leave work, but these bras are actually comfortable to wear. I often forget I have one on. :)
I think the Full Support/Full Coverage bras are good for anyone in the B/C cup range, anything bigger might not be enough support.

I prefer sports bras. Just grab a cheapie off the rack.

Not only do I HATE it--- I can't afford it!! When you wear the size I do.... you better be prepared to part with some SERIOUS cash!!

I think I'll be making a stop into Victoria's Secret!! I keep forgetting about that place!
Today, I even tried on one of those expensive ones, that come in a box (first for me) I think it was the Playtex Cross Your Heart bra! It was doing more than cross my heart!! Very uncomfortable!
Mermaid, I hear ya!
There was a time....well....when I was very small. After I had kids I kind of blossomed! I thought they would go away, but it never happened! Talk about your late bloomers!

add me to the body by Victoria fans!
I'm *not* on the small side shall we say and they fit really well.
Good luck!

I absolutely hate bra shopping!! Victoria Secret bras can be comfy, I have a few, but I need to order them from the catalog because they don't carry very many double letter sizes in the store. I will try the body by Victoria now that I've heard good reports...thanks.
I have found that Mervyn's usually carries a good selection for me.
I would kill for the chance to wear a sports bra or tank top instead of a stiff underwire!! :(

Lars-- I hear ya! I have NEVER been able to buy a sports off the shelf bra....its been underwired forever.
tc--you have me so jealous...I NEVER had that predicament.
Ok, now all you ladies don't laugh, but Fredericks of Hollywood has a nice selection of larger size bras that are comfortable., and that come in more colors than white/beige..
When you get in bigger sizes like I , well, lets just say the color selection gets limited..
I figured I would try it, and bought one at Fredericks, very very comfortable, and lots of support.
I've heard nice things about Victorias secret, but they don't carry my size too much, anything over a C in that store, forget it!

Yes I HATE shopping for bras. Why?? Because I am a DDD/F cup and you can't find them in the store, you have to buy them from a catalog (JCPenny is where I find mine). There is very little selection and they are EXPENSIVE $25 + each.

I hear you!!! I can't go shopping for bras. In my size I can only buy them through a catalogue and everytime I find one I like......they discontinue the style.
I seriously thought about breast reduction surgery, until I watched it on "The Operation". Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!
I used to hate being my size (that is small, you know.) I actually considered getting implants. But the more people I talk to (and after reading this thread), I am happy with my size. The main reason I didn't get implants a few years ago, was Stephen. He said it would not change how he feels about me, and he likes the "athletic look", which, when I'm lifting, I have. So, no implants, and no bras. I think that's pretty good.

I can't stand shopping for bras, but I have to all the time now that I'm pregnant. I'm growing like you wouldn't believe. I didn't exactly start out small, but I'm in a 38DDD now. I'm wearing nursing bras already because regular bras in that size are expensive and have to be special ordered.

Ok for however long I have been wearing a bra I had no idea that the letter was the cup size and the number was the amount around.... My SIL just told me and I was like ohhhhhhhh.... duh! Why didn't anyone tell me that before then? I have small ones too but this Victorias Secret very Sexy Convertible bra I just got works very very well!!! LMAO.

2disneywego - I saw the same show!!!!!! Blech!!!
My sister had reduction surgery & has been pressuring me to do it, but since I saw the operation I am too freaked out by it.
She says it was the best decision she ever made.
I'd just like to underscore that I've seen several patients who have had breast reductions, more for neck/back problems than cosmetic concerns. Each and every one of them has sworn by their decision and regretted that they hadn't sought the surgery years earlier. I wouldn't be dismayed by film of the procedure; it is NOT difficult surgery but looks much worse than it actually is.
Good Luck,

I would love to be smaller, but I think there has to be a better surgery. It's not that invasive to make them bigger, why does it have to be so much to make them smaller??

Because in order to make them bigger they just insert a deflated bag behind or in fron of the muscle and add liquid... nothing needs to be removed..
Obviosuly with a reduction they have to get all that fat or whatever it is out, cut the extra skin off and make sure everything is proportionate.... or else it wouldn't be called a reduction... not like they can go in there with a lipo thing and just get it out or else they'd be all saggy... yhich
For some reason it's always easier to add things than to take them away...

I actually don't mind bra shopping. :) I've been buying all my bras at LaSenza lately and really like them. Of course they discontinued my favorite one  but at least I got a few before they sold out.

:D Just ask anyone who's ever been on a diet!!:D ;)
ANY Plastic Surgery involves proportionality...............that's where the artistry is involved. The reduction itself is not technically diffcult :D :D :D .............
It's the scars that turn me off Eros.
Honestly, I don't understand why women get implants. They look silly and fake. When they're 50, and they're sagging, they'll regret it. I would love to be an A cup.

Me too Olaf......my sister has some pretty nasty looking scarring & puckering where her incisions were. I went as far as seeing a doctor and finding out that it would probably be covered by insurance, but then I chickened out.

Much to my surprise it was pretty comfy.........

Shannon, me too. Luckily, mother nature hasn't been overly generous so I at least can find something. I am finding prettier ones in the last couple years though.
My h didn't care what they looked like either.
OMG...there is a Body by Victoria fan club going here. I am not exactly well endowed. Anyway, they are the most comfortable and pretty bras I have ever felt and worn. Also they are so much sexier than those 18 hour jobs that look like they are meant for armor....

In response to Browneyes post....
actually there are a lot of great looking bras out there now for the bigger woman. Companies like the Brylane line, carry a lot of choices now, though not always in as many colors as Victoria Secret, though. However, if you are looking for the type that really makes your hubby go 'hubba, hubba' :) there are still not many out there.
My biggest complaint is that when I go looking (like at Lane Bryant) darn it if every woman around here doesn't wear the same size! I went a couple of months ago, and could find EVERY size above or below, but only two in the size I wanted...and that was out of several hundred bras.:( Oh well....

LuvN~Travel, the last bra shopping I did was at Lane Bryant. The sales girl measured me and told me they didn't have any in my size. I found a couple that I thought would fit. I bought one and it's comfy, but I wish I could wear one of those prettier ones. All the prettier bras were in the d's and below.:( And I refuse to wear an underwire-those things could cut you to pieces or stab you to death!

I hate trying on, wearing or anthing else about bras. (I am from the bra burning era....) While I think some of them are pretty, they never seem to fit me right...and I really hate the underwire ones. Thankfully I have always been smaller and could get away with a minimal amount of support. Now my dd however...........is just 12 and is already in a 36B and we need to go shopping again!!

I love to go bra shopping!! I always stop by the bras and underwear when I am in a dept. store. Victoria is my all time favorite. I bet I own 30 bras. My DD hates it when I come home from shopping I always have a new bra for her. I don't like shopping for shoes or purses.:(
