Wait List Comes Through!

We got great news in the mail today. The two nights that I needed at an OKW studio for December 9 and 10 came through! I had requested the two nights at OKW to add to our 4 nights at BCV about mid August and was put on the wait list. Now I don't need the two cash nights at POR, even though it was a great rate ($85/night)! The best part is I didn't have to keep calling to get the nights. :teeth:

Thanks for the kind wishes. My DW and I are looking forward to this trip in December. This will be our fourth Dec. trip and is becoming our favorite time to go. It will be great trying out the new BCV and still getting a couple of nights at OKW, our home resort.

When our children were little, we usually went in late August, but now that we are "empty nesters", we have a lot more freedom in picking our vacation times. We also get to go to better restaurants at WDW. ;)

When did you join? And......did you used to be on the Prodigy boards?

We joined in August, 1995 and, yes, I used to frequent the old Prodigy Boards. In fact, it was the DVC people there that convinced me to join. It took me about a year to make up my mind, a year of free park passes lost! :(

I remember you as a frequent poster in those days. I was more of a "lurker". I certainly remember the "DORK"s (Disney Organized Record Keepers) there. I was one of them. :teeth:

I joined Prodigy when they first started when the modem (1200 baud!!!) came with the sign-up. The BB's were the best part!!

Thanks Paul, for the answer. I loved the BB's and I joined Prodigy in 1991 and DVC in 92. Clarry Trice was the one that encouraged me to join.

I recall reading about Clarry on the Prodigy BB's and of his calculations showing what a deal DVC was. I think that I found the Disney BB on Prodigy just about the time that he passed away. I think that it was great that they planted a tree at OKW in his memory. In fact, whenever we stay at OKW we stay in the Turtle Pond section where I believe the tree is planted. We like the quiet pool there and the views from the rooms. The Turtle Shack is also nice and convenient. :)

Paul, next time you go to the Turtle Pond pool at OKW, look at the palm tree on the right of the entrance - that is Clarry's tree.

Thank you for the information. Clarry and I were pretty close friends and his passing really put me into a depression( that and my impending divorce). I knew the tree was there, but, never actually knew where. We stay in the TP section most of the time, in building 41.

Thanks for the exact location. I remember reading on Prodigy a long time ago that it was near the pool, but I did not know what kind of tree it is. We will definitely look for it when we are there in December! :)
