I'm considering booking the dolphin swim in Freeport/Nassau. I'd like to know which companies have been used (Unexco?) How far in advance did you book, transport from the ship, combining it with a DCL excursion, best time of day to participate? Any help and suggestions would be appreciated!

Bumping up. I'm also interested in the cost.

My husband and dd9 did the swim (I watched and took pictures) and it was fantastic. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

Go to www.dolphinencounters.com for information. You can book anytime but the sooner the better. We did the 10:30 swim and made it with no problems and were back on the ship by 1:30 pm.

When you depart the ship you just go to the plaza area at the end of the dock and find a taxi to take you to the ferry on Paradise Island. It cost $4.00 per person. Check in at the ferry and then be patient for the ferry ride to the island. It doesn't take very long.

The swim took about an hour and there was lots of interaction with the dolphins.

Make sure you take cash to purchase pictures and videos if you are interested.

Once you get back to Paradise Island there were a couple of taxis waiting. I have read that dolphin encounters will actually take you back to the ship afterwards. We didn't know about that and we would have taken advantage of it.

Have fun.

Kathleen.
