Not from the area so do not know any good Dr. and I do not go to the Dr. As a kid I use to get really high fevers that would reach 103 and would not break. My mom use to run extremely cold water over the inside of my wrists to help. "Do not know if it is good to do" that but back in the day when I was a kid thats what my mom did.

I hope he feels better.

We used that service twice - it was East Coast Medical. They were wonderful!!!! Plus gave us all the paperwork, and our insurance reimbursed us 100%.

Hope it all works out for you!

There is a clinic very near the Crossroads (not far from Downtown Disney) that a lot of the hotels shuttle people to. We've taken our youngest there multiple times. There is sometimes a wait, but they seem to be very good and they take our insurance. They also have an in-house pharmacy if you don't have a car. We usually just take our prescriptions to Walgreens.

Most of the CVSs and Walgreens around here have MinuteClinic type places. That might be an option too.

(I know the OP has received help already. I'm just posting that for other people's benefit during searches, etc.)

OP, I hope your DS is ok.

We used Centracare twice. Front desk has the pamphlet and they will pick you up at the hotel (once from POR, and the other time from CSR). They also had doctors that would come to the hotel. The wait was really long for dd once we were at the clinic(4 hours). She had a throat infection and an ear infection.
With ds they took his temperature and sent us straight to the hospital (called an ambulance as it was 104.5:sad2:). In his case it was an issue with his appendix.
Long story short, they were very good and worked with our out of country insurance. I would use them again in a hearbeat (however I hope we never have to.. 2 trips was enough!)

The Unofficial Guide references another WDW-area clinic, other than the CentraCare, but I am blanking out on its name. The Guide quotes a family that was very satisfied with the care they obtained at this place. I'll try to post a follow-up message tonight.

We had to use Centracare a few years ago for my DS. He was vomiting, so we took him to Centracare at 9am. We waited for 6 hrs in the lobby with my son vomiting to see the MD. So of course by the time he was seen he was dehydrated. So we we're sent to the ER at Celebration Hospital and waited another 6 hrs in the waiting room there with my son still vomiting. When we were finally seen by the ER MD he order all sorts of test including an abdomial CT scan. Anyways, he just had the 24 hr virus and got fluids and we were discharged at 4am in the morning. I got a bills later totaling almost $2000 and that's with my insurance paying. I pray each time we go to WDW he stays well. I never want to go through that again.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

I called the Dr. It was called The Medical Concierge 407-648-5252 or www.themedicalconcierge.com

I was able to get the fever done to a normal zone and the Dr. came right away at 8am.

She was LOVELY! She said it was just a sinus infection, brought her travelling pharmacy and made up the amoxy on the spot. She saved us!

Of course he would never ever have been prescribed antibiotics for this usually but she said because we are on vacay she wanted him to heal quickly.

He was well enough to get to Jedi training the next morning. YAY! It was worth the trip just for that alone. He was out this world excited and happy with the entire experience. It was truly awesome.

We had an eventful trip. Our family hasn't been sick for YEARS and I mean YEARS. I got the virus and spent 1.5 days in bed. My DD got it and couldn't stop barfing. She kept filling the white bags on the plane. I am surprised we made it home. DH did ALL the childcare, cleaning, packing you name it. wow. I feel for him but I am so thankful I have him.

This was our fifth trip to the world. I have a feeling we will take a break for a bit. This one hit us hard.

The clinic that I was trying to remember yesterday is Buena Vista Urgent Care, 8216 World Center Drive, 407-465-1110. It's just east of FL 535. I have no experience with them, or with any Orlando clinics at all really, so I cannot say how they might stack up against CentraCare. They do get a positive mention in the Unofficial Guide.

hope he's feeling better...both of mine got sick the 1st time we were down. we were told about the doctor but ended up renting a car and going to a publix clinic...which was just fine for us...the nurse (or whatever she was) was very nice and they both had like ear infections if I remember correctly...but good luck!

So glad it all worked out! Hope he is feeling better soon!

For future reference, we've used CentraCare in the past with our kids and have no complaints. We waited under an hour to be seen and were able to get antibiotics right across the street from their offices at a Walgreens. We called our pediatrician at home who sent a referral into our insurance company, and we had no billing problems with them at all.

Do you have any experience with them? It's wonderful that you don't have to wait more than a hour. Unless they are extravagantly expensive, that would be ideal (not having to get a sick child out).

So glad he is better.

Our last Disney trip was in Dec. and it was the WORST trip we have EVER had to Disney. We all got sick, 7 year old broke out in a rash from head to toe.

We only got 3 days in the parks total and they weren't even full days! Thankfully we have APs this year so we didn't pay for more days than we could use.
