I've been keeping her busy. ;)
Ooooh, now I understand...
I am so sorry to hear this. One of my first patients was a lovely man with this disease. I hope that you have a wonderful time with your mother and aunt. :goodvibes
It's been a tough road; heartbreaking to watch in every way. I think having some lasting memories of us together at our collective happy place will be a good thing.
Our last night at Disney we stopped in to see the firehouse. My DH asked the lady that was there where all the badges come from. She told us that the firehouse is run by volunteers and the badges are from other fire/police departments who have either donated or volunteered there.
I wondered about that. I 'd read that folks are just able to give them to be put up too, so who knows. Either way, it's a great and fun way to remember to be thankful to those who serve us!

CARP! I mean Yay for you!! :lmao: I just spent about 20 minutes typing out lots of advice for you, and then it disappeared when I hit the space bar :headache: Call me! I have lots to say, and I don't want to type it again! DLR is our stomping grounds, so I am excited to talk to you.
I'm excited for you! :yay:

Well, actually, yes, I've been holding out some, and it might perhaps explain why I've been MIA more than normal.
All the details haven't been worked out AT. ALL. But it's a pretty sure thing I"m getting to go to DLR during the week of the 21st with my mom and aunt. I have VERY mixed feelings about the trip in general, as it will likely be the last place I ever see my aunt who is dying of ALS. Most of you already know my thoughts on doing Disney with my mom... She's great company, but tires as Disney early and easily.
I have some questions into Brook but would love, LOVE, LOVE any help you guys can offer as well!!
1. Can I book a room only at PP?
2. Where can I get discount tix? Undercover??
3. Any CS recommendations?? TS??
4. Never done CA Adventure- what are the must-dos??
Ok I've been lurking and haven't posted in a long, long time!! Disneyland is our favorite place to go just because I refuse to pay for airfare for 4 from California to Florida (baby would be a lap baby)!! Here are the best answers I can give for now.
1. Yes you can book room only.
2. We've used getawaytoday.com in the past and have not had any problems.
3. We normally eat in our room or off site so sorry can't help you too much there. But one of our favorite places to eat is Storyteller's Cafe for the Chip and Dale breakfast. It's my husband's favorite Character dining!! We do it every trip.
4. Must do's at California Adventure for us are California Screamin (roller coaster), Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror and the Aladdin show. My kids favorite is Monster's Inc. they get a kick out of Sully and Boo every time!! My favorite place to eat is the Wine Country Tratorria, I love the meatballs sandwich!! But unfortunatly I don't get it everytime because we try to do our trips on a very low budget. Another must see would be World of Color if you can manage to stay late. We've done the dining option at Wine Country Tratorria and ended up with an awesome view/location during our Christmas trip.
We actually just got Annual Passes to Disneyland/CA Adv and we're hoping to be down there about the same time your talking about. We're probably going to be helping my best friend move to San Diego on 6/18 and then head to Disneyland for the week. Hope this helps some. If you have any other specific questions let me know and I'll answer them as bet as I can!! (Want maps? I have extra from our trip last month.) Have a great time!!!

Do you have a Costco card? Costco Travel has some good deals on Good neighbor hotels or onsite hotels with choice of park hoppers (how many days) and $20 gift certificate and a character meal. You can only get about a 10% savings on tickets anywhere. Most close hotels have shuttles, and some are right across the street.
Do you know any CMs? I have a little inside info about that.

Liesa, I'm so sorry.
Disneyland is the park of my childhood and has always remained my favorite. It is truly special - how lovely for to you spend time with your mom and aunt in such an enchanting place for a few days. It will make memories to treasure. :grouphug:
If you are doing the planning, I can highly recommend the Candy Cane Inn. They do participate as a Good Neighbor hotel, have a park shuttle (not sure if the shuttle is HC accessible though), nice clean rooms and offer various discounts - some can be very good - and can be found on the website or calling. Everyone I know who has stayed there LOVES this little Inn. http://www.candycaneinn.net/
I must recommend The Plaza Inn in the MK ..it's the original, of course - always gets great reviews and practically a MK landmark. LOVE this place.

Loved your rhyming update. The pictures were fab too.
I'm sorry you're going to DL for a goodbye but I'm happy you'll be doing it at such a great place. Wish I had some advice but I've never been to the West Coast. Have fun planning.

Wonderful Main Street pictures and poetry on top! :thumbsup2
And you get a trip to DL! I hope you can avoid the possible negative things that seem to linger in this plan and come back with loads of happy memories nevertheless. :goodvibes
As others have said: Do look at the good neighbour hotels. We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in 2005 and thought it was very good. Not sure the prices for the Disney hotels are worth it there. The Howard Johnson also gets generally good reviews.
Don't forget the new rides that just opened at DLR: The Little Mermaid at DCA and Start Tours 2 at DL. They also just started a new afternoon parade which looks like a lot of fun (well, maybe not for you, I remember that you like parades nearly as much as I do...). Otherwise, I really enjoyed DCA a lot in 2005, but it is undergoing a lot of change at the moment and it seems that large parts of it have building fences(especially the entrance). Someone else suggested already the World of Color picnic deal. That seems to get rather good reviews and helps with getting a decent viewing location for World of Color if you want to see it. I think you would enjoy the bread making tour at DCA, which is a neat little diversion. And then Grizzly River Rapids is the best raft ride ever! It is truly beautiful and lots of fun. Make sure to put your valuables in the locker to keep them dry though...
Can't really comment very much on dining, just read recently that the Hungry Bear restaurant at DL has a new menu which sounds rather interesting and does not consist of only burgers. Oh, but if your mom tires of Disney, but would be interested in an adult beverage the new Trader Sam bar at the DL Hotel sounds like a great tiki bar: special glasses for every drink, neat effects in the decor etc.

1. Can I book a room only at PP?
2. Where can I get discount tix? Undercover??
3. Any CS recommendations?? TS??
4. Never done CA Adventure- what are the must-dos??
1. Can I book a room only at PP? YES.
2. Where can I get discount tix? Undercover?? There really aren't any. All we found were some resident discounts which we definitely didn't qualify for.
3. Any CS recommendations?? TS?? Our best meal was honestly the fried chicken over at Knott's, the breakfast at PP and a lunch at Tortilla Joes. Ralph Brennan's is a lovely atmosphere but pretty pricey and maybe not quite worth the prices. Didn't go to HOB there but have always had good food at HOB. I am no help on the CS.
4. Never done CA Adventure- what are the must-dos?? You'll want to see TSM and Soarin just to see the differences, especially at Soarin. Grizzly River Run is great and Mickey's fun wheel. I'm sure there is more but those are popping into my head at the moment. TOT seems much tamer for some reason.
Will respond later on your update. Very sorry about this, I know you have mixed feelings but hope this is a very special trip.

Caught up - Best Main Street Review ever!! Awesome!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Sorry about your aunt - understandable about the mixed feelings - but may you still find that Disney magic to fill the memories to overload!
I've never been to DL - but I read the Dis! :rotfl: They are 2 very different parks - but the theme of magic, pixie dust, Mickey - its all there! I hear there is more of a "compact" feel at DL :rotfl: whereas you walk a lot at WDW - its all right around you at DL! and there are differences in Soarin, and the Little Mermaid opened - I posted a video, I'll go grab it and post it here!
Here's the 10 min video> warning spoilers - it gives the line queue as well as the entire ride!

Great food at DLR!
* Cafe Orleans is my favorite, far and away. The Monte Cristo, pommes frites (with the most amazing remoulade dipping sauce - ask for extra!), and Mickey beignets are wonderful! And don't forget the Mint Julep to drink!

* Carnation Cafe - I've heard Chef Oscar is to retire soon (if he hasn't already), so if he's still around, it's a real pleasure to meet the man who created the best Loaded Baked Potato soup on the planet! And if you're lucky, he'll even give you a copy of the famous recipe...
http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a432/jshequin/Disneyland-LoadedPotatoSoup.jpg
* Plaza Inn has the best fried chicken in the park. Just make sure you go hungry, as it's a lot of food!
http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a432/jshequin/Disneyland-PlazaInnchicken.jpg
* And I know you know all about the Blue Bayou...I've never had the pleasure of eating there, but I hear the food is good but the ambiance is spectacular (being as Pirates is my favorite ride).

This photo is of the one at Cafe Orleans, but the Mint Julep Bar serves the same thing in a to-go cup!

To echo everyone else, great update! I love some of the detailed photos you were able to get - including the fire station pumpins. I went into the Fire Station for the first time in January - what a hidden gem! I loved seeing the patches from everywhere.
I understand the mixed feelings about DLR and am so sorry about your Aunt but I am excited that you will be getting some Disney magic soon! The furthest West I've ever been is Las Vegas so I have no advice for you.

I was just going to recommend the exact same place! :goodvibes This is probably one of the sweetest places to stay, and it's on the same side of the park so no crossing busy streets. You wouldn't have to take the shuttle since it's not that far a walk. This hotel is still family owned and they give excellent customer service, gorgeous landscaping, even have a great continental breakfast setup out by the pool for you. If you find any place with reviews on this place there's almost never a complaint (except the one's who live to complain), all ya'll will love it there! :lovestruc
I'm excited about your trip to DL, I wish I could meet with you there. :guilty: The trip report update was pretty cute. Looks like a fun day. Just think, this trip won't be near as hot as the last one. :goodvibes
I'd say for rides, the new Little Mermaid ride is a must! I'm curious how different Soarin and ToT are compaired the WDW rides. I've never done CAL, so I couldn't tell you anything about it other than what I've read.

Hi Sandra! And a very hearty and LARGE welcome to you!! It's great you came out of lurkdom to offer all this wonderful sage advice!! THANKS!!
first of all, I totally don't blame you for not wanting to spring for the exorbinate airfare for 4! tough to swing, I know!
1) I found that we would pay about $259 for the 3 of us at PP. so will likely book there. Ugh!, so many details to work out yet!
2)Going to getawaytoday.com next. GREAT tip!
3) I'm not sure my mother nor aunt are into character meals, so we'll probably skip that one, but it's always worth looking at the menu anyway.
4) The Trattoria has been reccommended by many others as well, so will likely give it a try. Another must-do for us will be Carnation, since it holds so many dear memories.
If you do end up there on the 23-24th PLEASE do let me know, for sure!! We can arrange a very quick Meet for a picture!!
We'd all love to have you be a regular poster around here, so join in whenever you can!! AND once again, thanks so very much!!! :worship:

It definitely has a more quaint feel to it- compact and nostalgic. I def. want to hit the Storybook Boats and IaSW- both of which I think can load a wheelchair. Still lots of research to be done on that subject, as well as making sure I understand the FiP system and attractions.
I am pretty sure we're going to end up at PP. I KNOW they have transportation and handicapped accs. rooms. Very important for this trip.
I know we want to do Carnation, but the Plaza may be an option as well, as well as The Bayou, for memory's sake alone if nothing else.

I'm sorry you're going to DL for a goodbye but I'm happy you'll be doing it at such a great place. Wish I had some advice but I've never been to the West Coast. Have fun planning.
Thanks!!! It was fun to sit and write it!
I can't think of a more wonderful place to have a last memory from! Bittersweet for sure, but perfectly appropriate being we all grew up right there and spent much of our (collective) childhoods there. :thumbsup2
Planning always takes way more time than one thinks it's going to going into it!
Wonderful Main Street pictures and poetry on top! :thumbsup2
Thanks, Magdalene! It's hard to keep coming up with anything remotely creative after so long. Keeps me on my toes, for sure!
And you get a trip to DL! I hope you can avoid the possible negative things that seem to linger in this plan and come back with loads of happy memories nevertheless. :goodvibes
I'm sure there will be many memories made, and in the end, it's NOT about rides, or how much we can cram in our days, but just being together. I'm already thinking about the mini-TR, and what angle to take with it.
As others have said: Do look at the good neighbour hotels. We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in 2005 and thought it was very good. Not sure the prices for the Disney hotels are worth it there. The Howard Johnson also gets generally good reviews.
I will look at the CCI, now that 3 folks have mentioned it. Do you think I could push the wheelchair all the way from there and for a full day in the parks?? Is it that close?? If not, do they have a shuttle that will be handicapped accs??
YES, def will do the LM, and the parade. Want to hit the original rides as well, and can see us sticking mostly in FLand and NOS a bunch. I DO want to see WOC, but they may head back to the hotel and I stay late for it. Not sure yet. Like I said earlier, I need to find out which attractions are wheelchair loadable. I may have to do a couple of the attractions alone, while they browse.
Hmmm..... I think I need to check out the Trader Sam place. they may enjoy a drink after dark??

I couldn't believe how many little touches of whimsy were in there! OMWoooooooooooooooooooord!! Food Art Overload alert!!!
Jennifer, THAT WAS SOME FINE WORK, GIRL!!!!
And you have some great recommendations right there on that list!! Booyah!
Carnation IS on our list, and you can bet I'll try to talk to the chef!! That stuff if right up my alley!
A mint julep is one of the very few MUST-DOs on my list; never got to it while I worked there and always regretted it!!
[QUOTE=Captain_Oblivious;41376616]Another creative entry in this Trip Report
Regarding the Walt Disney World Resort.
The glimpses were fleeting
As Main Street was...Main Streeting (work with me here)
Bringing happiness to all of us Disney dorks.
Very sorry to hear about your aunt. That must be difficult to watch and experience.
I am excited to hear about Disneyland, though! :woohoo: Stopher1 (real name: Christopher) is the resident DISDad expert on DL, having been a former CM there. He has a huge thread on the park you can find here:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2718241
Actually that was pretty awesome! :worship: Nicely done.. "Main Streeting"; if it wasn't a verb before, it certainly oughtta be now! :rotfl2: As for Disney Dorks, we're a fun lot; although yeah, dorky. :lmao:
Thanks for the link to Christopher's stuff. Need to get my hiney off the threads here, and go plan!
Remember in my planning the goal was to hit up all the hidden gems I could. I realy got to do a whole lot of them and loved it! The piano player was also on my bucket list, and what an immense treat that was!! He spent 20 minutes talking to me about his job, and how much he loved it! He told me heh wished all the guests would appreciate his work more, and was amazed I stayed for all of it. It was just so cool to make him smile and show him how great and talented he was. And truly, this guy's a genious at what he does!!! I could go on and on at how special that interaction was,and how neat it made my day!!
I'm excited to be thinking about throwing in a mini-report here... that'll be fun!
I need to call you about the CCI! Maybe later today, after I get dinner figured out and a bunch more laundry done....
I think i"m going to LOVE the CA weather after this crazy, crappy spring we've had here!! I'm sick to death of the cold and rain!
I hope my aunt can ride Soarin'!!
Check mousesavers.com. Mary has lots of discounts for DL including a place to get discounted tickets.
I've stayed at the HoJo and was very happy with it.

Liesa, sometimes Disney isn't too bad about providing information. I found this to be the case when we planned for Katharina's food intolerances. And this is the info about Disneyland and mobility issues: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/plan/guest-services/mobility-disabilities/

:worship:
Thanks for the welcome!! I try to stay on top of the reports I read but with having 3 kids under the age of 4 it sometimes makes it diffcult for me to post. Some days I do the quick scan for updates and that's about it.
Of course I saw you talking about going to Disneyland so I had to speak up!! We see Carnation and The Plaza Inn every trip and keep saying we want to try it and then just never get around to it!! From what I remember IASW does have a wheelchair accessible boat now that they've updated the boats. I think I even saw it in December but can't remember for sure now.
I will let you know for sure as soon as our trip is confirmed. The only way it will change is if something happens with my husband's work schedule. They are really slow right now but if they pick back up to 40 hr weeks he'll need to be at work not Disneyland. We'll still be helping my friend move just not staying the week like we want. Right now our dates are 6/19 - 6/24. I would love to have my first Dismeet be with the famous All7ofus Liesa!!! If I think of anything else I'll be sure to share!!

Yep, never been to California! And I gave up a school trip to the San Francisco area next week due to my own family issues. Course there is something to be said for not spending a week chaperoning sixty middle schoolers around.
And those Disneyland food pics..my mouth is watering, everything looks delicious.

Dear Gamers (and Readers/Lurkers who are interested):
I have good news and bad news. I would ask you which you'd like to hear first, but sadly, you really don't have a choice tonight, as I am going to choose for you.
And typically, I'm a "get the bad out of the way first" type of gal, so here we go. I do not have the final scores for you tonight. The last couple of weeks have been one thing on top of another, with barely enough time to do the things I need to. Including spending the time I need to in planning my trip to California. (I have another tab open looking for a rental car as I type this...)
The VERY good news, is that ALL the answers are in, and I have them tabulated on paper, just not in a post.
Which means that tomorrow, I will get everthing typed up, and give you the final tally with winner or winners announced.
And, a bonus piece of good news... I have finally decided on the prizes for rounds 1 and 2!! Seriously, I have thought, and thought and THOUGHT about what would be a nice little prizey-poo, and will get those mailed out early next week! Exciting, huh??!!
So, stay tuned, the wieners should be announced around noon or so my time! Oh! And they will not come by Twitter, by the way....

Thanks for the link; I am still trying to round up a rental car at a fair price, then will work on hotel, THEN can plan the actually Disney part of it all. So much more to think about when a wheelchair is involved!

You sound like me about 15 years ago. I started spacing them out further and further, as I got older. LOL! Easier on the diaper budget!
Totally understand about only being able to get on as you can!!
I followed Flossbolna's link and it was pretty helpful, but I was discouraged at how few are truly ones she can go on without transferring. I'll study it closer after I find that elusive steal on a car.
I will PM my number sometime soon; a Meet would be fun!! Then my mom can see one more NORMAL DISser. (You ARE normal, right??) :lmao: Do hope it works out!!

I forgot you asked about TS - I think Blue Bayou is a must do!!! It is a little pricey, but something memorable, and the food is really good. Ask for a table near the water, even if you have to wait a little bit. You can make an ADR - the number is on the DL dining page at disney.com. It is just so cool to be a part of the ride while you eat!
It was great to talk with you yesterday, too!

Well, our Meet came and went- and I can say, we had a VERY nice time. It went off without a hitch, DAN AND CANDI are delightful people and little Parker is just as cute as they come. Wished it could have been longer, but they were bushed after travelling all day, and I had to get back home. I'd post a pic, but I (as usual) forgot my own camera, and the story really belongs on Dan's thread anyway; it was his travel/trip. So, in a couple of weeks (I am so jealous!!) you can look for a chapter on his thread. :goodvibes
lucky for you i came armed with my camera.

We left off with Letter K having been tallied, and here’s how it all shook out (mistakes and editorial comments fixed):
Glenn 11; Magdalene 11; Pat 10; Dan 6; Marv 10; Wendy 8; Molly 10; Jessica 2; Katharina 4; Rosie 11; Chloe770 10; Mark 10; Vanessa 2; Tammie 4; Jedijill 4; JenBear 9; Tanya 6; Lessa (D&W) 7; KatMark 8; ReelMom 10; Kim (Burly) 10; Julie (LorainF) 10; Tim 4; Nory 6; Brook 4; Millie 9; Jenb1023 10; Pooh's Mate 8; Cynthia 9; PennyLane 2; onelilspark 2; Christine 3; Sandy 2; Tina 2
After careful consideration and review of answers I came up with 6 folks scoring 3 points this round:
Lessa (Lifelong Dreamer)- with Liberty Swirl Slush from Sleepy Hollow
Pat (Poolrat)- lightening from the Haunted Mansion
Chloe770 (Dawn)- Lucretia; from one of the tombs at HM
Marv- logs; on Fort Langhorn and at Splash Mountain- I’m not sure I could walk there in 2 minutes, but I could probably swim it. I gave the benefit of the doubt here since he played while working massive overtime. Thanks, Marv!
Millie- lattes from Sleepy Hollow
Onelilspark- Lemonade from CHH or Sleepy Hollow
The picture was from in front of the Liberty Square Tavern, from Liberty Square, of course. I gave the first point for either of those. There were so many creative answers for the 2nd part; I never cease to be amazed at how clever and astute you guys are!!! Common answers, or at least ones that were given more than once were: The Liberty Bell and the Liberty Belle, Lyndon B. Johnson and Abraham Lincoln, the Lighthouse Sandwich from Columbia Harbour House, Liberty Square Portraits, and the Liberty Market, lanterns, Liberty Tree, and even Leota was given twice.
Making their scores: Lessa 10; Pat 13; Dawn 13; Marv 13; Millie 12; and onelilspark 5
BUT!!! Was that one extra point enough to bring them to the Victory Suite?? Let’s see!!
Glenn 13
Magdalene 13
Pat 13
Dan 6
Marv 13
Wendy 10
Molly 12
Jessica 2
Katharina 6
Rosie 13
Chloe770 13
Mark 12
Vanessa 4
Tammie 6
Jedijill 4 (no PM?)
JenBear 11
Tanya 8
Lessa (D&W) 10
KatMark 10
ReelMom 10 (no PM?)
Kim (Burly) 12
Julie (LorainF) 12
Tim 4 (Tim’s checked himself in somewhere… ??)
Nory 8
Brook 4 (no PM?)
Millie 12
Jenb1023 12
Pooh's Mate 10
Cynthia 11
PennyLane 2
onelilspark 5
Christine 3
Sandy 2
Tina 2
As far as I can best determine… (I’ve been known to royally flub up in points before…), the winners for Part 2 of Where in the World are: Glenn, Magdalene, Pat, Marv, Rosie and Dawn. Looks like that extra point sure came in handy for Dawn, Marv and Pat- good going!
Now, the good news, as I mentioned earlier, is that I’ve finally figured out what the prizes will be for Part 1. Now, I’ll have to work on Pt. 2, since there were some repeat winners. :goodvibes
Send me those addresses all you winners, and someday you’ll get a little prizey-poo!!

im suprised you didnt spill anything or leak anything on that story...you are the only one on here that knows it, now parker on the other hand has told everyone he sees what happened.
well when i saw her walk down the hotel hallway toward our room, i did see her start to grab the bottom of her shirt, but then she stopped so not sure if i was going to get hte greeting or if she just had an little itch

I was there again in 1996 when I attended a computer conference in Anaheim. if you ended up going with what you gave me, then that will be a good prize, and i think people will like it, i used mine the whole trip, and it worked great.:thumbsup2
i wont show any pics of what you gave me, as i dont want to ruin it if that is what you chose for your prize.
That thought had definitely crossed my mind... we'll see!!!
and i like to think that when i left since i was tied for the lead, that i would have also tied for the lead or won that round, but at least i made it around for round three to start new.
You actually may have been!! Too bad you got to go somewhere fun. Next time think twice! :lmao:
Part 3 coming up soon!
no she thought you were all very nice, she was just pretty tired from a long day and said she could have fallen asleep before we even ate anything.
I could tell she was really dragging! Poor thing!!
marv was privy to a few things while we were gone...but it was just because i was trying to suck up and get some bonus points on his contest.
That's easier to do on his thread than mine.
so it looks like the greeting is a go if parker would have stayed in the room.
:lmao:
mebbe.
Just missed you! Alison and I were there during summer of 1985 (June I think). I was there again in 1996 when I attended a computer conference in Anaheim. The two big companies represented rented DL out for the evening so there were only about 5000 of us in there total for about 5 hours. Bill Gates was the keynote speaker so can you figure out one of the companies??? :rotfl:
Yeah, it was fun being in text message contact with Dan while they were there. You know how those firemen are, always trying to be a hero......... :rolleyes1
Didn't stop you last night when my kids were reading our FB conversation over my shoulder........ j/k!!! ;)
Woot! Woot! for bonus points..... :woohoo:
Yeah, I think I can figure out which company that might be. And unless you dined at the Blue Bayou, I proabably wouldn' have seen you. Although, I did work several night parties too, out in NOS area hosting hors d'oeuvres tables. Fun stuff!
It involves firemen???!! can't wait for this one!
yes, that was a hoot! And completely unintitional!! Hope your kids aren't scarred for life!!!
Fun round even though I missed some of it. I'm going to work real hard to stay on top of the next round.
Good luck planning your DL trip. Looks like it will be a trip with lots of people watching and not so many rides. But think of all the details you'll have time to see.
Part 3 should be just as much fun!! Lots of fun letter to look forward to!
That's exatly it, and hey, just think of all the photos I'll come back with!! :thumbsup2
One point short...no bonus points for letter L...which makes me a Loser.
Well, nowadays, it's better than being a weiner.

im suprised you didnt spill anything or leak anything on that story...you are the only one on here that knows it, now parker on the other hand has told everyone he sees what happened.
:laughing:No, when it comes to this story I'll leave the spilling and leaking to you and your TR......... :rolleyes1
marv was privy to a few things while we were gone...but it was just because i was trying to suck up and get some bonus points on his contest.
:laughing:Oh, and here I thought it was because we were bestest buds!!! Guess I need to go back and adjust some contest scores....... :sad2:
It was inevitable. I heard the Hobbit is coming out soon, by the way. Thoguht I'd try out. I bet you would be really good AT IT.
It involves firemen???!! can't wait for this one!No I didn't say it involved them, just that Dan IS one and their skills don't abandon them just because they are on vacation. They are always looking for any opportunity to grab a hose and be a hero!!!
yes, that was a hoot! And completely unintitional!! Oh you really didn't just go there.....
Hope your kids aren't scarred for life!!!My Kids??? What about ME??? :rotfl2:

How funny that all three of us in the lead did not come up with something original. I must say that I thought I could employ a bit of reverse psychology, counting on others to come up with far guesses and I could pick the obvious one... But I really love it that we are six winners now (no, thanks I don't want to be a weiner - in German that's a whiner... And btw he made the news here as well).
I am looking forward to the prize from round 1!!!

Darn it - one point from the win! I keep forgetting that this crowd always goes for the drinks - LOL! Though I guess then that answer would not be unique any more. I should have said Ladies Room for L!
I hope you can squeeze in a few rides even with the addition of your cousin to the trip.

I am totally guessing it was the reverse psychology thing. I was frankly surprised there were 2 Leotas, and ONLY 2 Lincolns. Funny how this really throws a wild card into the game- makes it fun!!
ANOTHER GERMAN WORD ALERT!!! Who knew weiner (sp?)= whiner! When WILL the politicians learn????:sad2:
I started making the prized just earlier, and am about half done... hope they turn out ok...

To be fair, none were alcoholic this time... and actually, I for one, am glad they keep the booze out of the parks. Hot+humid+stress of a vacation+booze= Vacation Alcohol Disasters
And hey, if you'd gone with the "Ladies Room" you'd have totally been in theme with this TR! :rotfl2:

It certainly was unique but WAY more than a 2 minute walk from the Liberty Tree Tavern- and I got in trouble last round for giving a point to someone who guessed something pretty far away. Not that I'm persuaded by peer pressure or anything...

I love that my kids are close in age but at the same time I'm like give me a break already. I feel like I've either been pregnant or nursing for the last 5 years!!! And we're talking about 1 more!!! :scared1: But we'll see what happens, I may wait a little longer than 2 years which is the age difference between my daughter and our 9 month old son.
I think normal is a relative term around here. My family consider's me pretty normal except for my Disney obsession!! Anytime I mention we're going my mother in law gets all huffy! She's not allowed to go with us anymore!! I should really write something up about that trip but I really don't want to live that nightmare again!!

I don't make jokes like that very often *(who am I kidding!?) , but that one couldn't be passed up.
I had thought about BB and will ask my mom. She may want to do that...
since that's where I worked as a CM a zillion years ago. Such a fun job!
I forgot you were a CM! You probably have all kinds of ideas. BTW - the new Star Tours is open, too - I guess it's amazing!
Not that it will be a winning point, but I do want credit for Libations at Liberty Tree Tavern ;)

YOU BETCHA! :thumbsup2 But I hear ya on the "pregnant or nursing" thing. There were so many things I couldn't do for so many years: roller coasters, water slides, a margarita with friends.... It does end...
Sounds like me. I do talk about Disney a lot, and they think I'm nutz. Ah well, you only live once (here anyway). My DH gets huffy, so I have to control myself and just share my passion with all of you!! Aren't we all lucky to have the DIS?! My last trip with my folks was full of drama of the parental kind as well. Never again- at least with my dad. I'm trying again with my mom in 3 weeks, but even if I don't get on one ride, really I'll be ok.
I actually put my dad in charge of the rental car thing. That should be figured out by today. But I GOT OUR HOTEL RESSIE!!!! Know anything about the Anabella?? Candy Cane Inn was booked, at least the handicapped rooms were. Hope it works for us!

Yeah, mine started getting spaced out further and further as I had more. And I got more and more tired. Would I do it all again?
Yes, I can see desperation has taken hold of Jen! Where is she, and what did you do with her? :lmao:
I was! It wasn't for very long, but long enough to know I'd go back in a second to do it again!
Good strategy!! Thinking about M- so many possibilities with that one!
Original yes; adjective yes; accaptable no.
Too true- but more often I see all of us sucking up to Marv. And he actually does give (a few, and to other people besides me) a few bonus points for that. :rotfl2:
One other had libations as well, so that one was thrown out. I can't remember how Camille worded it- something like "libations like lattes".
Thanks for taking the time to keep track of all those answers!
I have too... ; I don't think there were any bad feelings. Except when my son ate the last piece of pizza... :scared1:
I tried already to make a ressie at PP, but they don't have any handicapped rooms available for our dates, and the price shot up to over $700 for Disneyland Hotel for the 2 nights! :scared1::scared1::scared1: NOT going to do that!!
I'd have loved to have gotten the Fastpasses and EMH, but it just didn't work out. I"m quite a bit late in the game on this planning deal!
Today, I'm going to figure out how the ADR system works and try to get some of those...
Those FPs would have been sweet. You will have a great time wherever you are.
It's 60 days out and you just have to call. It's old school

That's exactly how I'm feeling. The joke right now is we aren't allowed to go to Disneyland at Christmas anymore cuz in both Dec 2007 and Dec 2009 we came home pregnant. We have 2 Disney souveniers!! lol I wouldn't give my kids up for anything. They may drive me crazy at times but I wouldn't give them up for anything. That could be why I want more.
My mom is allowed to go with us any time she wants. She understands our system to be able to get on everything with minimum waits even during peak season. But my dad and in-laws, yeah never again!! My dad is just a complainer and my mother in law is selfish. That should explain enough.
I've never stayed at the Anabella or the Candy Cane Inn. But looking at the map on hotels.com it does look to be farther than the Disney hotels. We normally stay at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel which is on the corner of S Harbor Blvd and Disney Way. I think the longest it ever took us to walk to the hotels from there was about 10 mins and that was with me being 7 1/2 months pregnant (everyone thought we'd cancel that trip but nope not me!!) The rooms are a lot bigger than the standard hotels we've stayed in. I haven't stayed in a handicapped room but we've had enough space in our room for a pack n play, co sleeper, double stroller, single stroller and the two queens beds with plenty of space to walk around and not feel cramped. Also what's nice there is a lot of the rooms either have a balcony or little patio area so with having the kids it's nice to let them go outside and play while I'm making lunch or when we have down time at the hotel. The rooms have started getting updated but even before the update we've never had any problems with the rooms. Plus at Christmas time I can't beat the price. Last year we paid $89 a night when the hotel right next door was about $120 a night. It helps make the trips more affordable.

Don't worry, it was just a small blurb on my online news webpage - and a welcome distraction from the EHEC outbreak which at the moment is the main headline.
That must be very scary for you all. Are they giving ideas how to avoid getting sick from the produce? This just convinces me even more I need to start growing my own food. I would really like to move onto some land so I can have lots of room for organic veggie gardens and a chicken coop. :thumbsup2 I'll be praying for EHEC to be found and the health of everyone there to be safe, especially you and your family.

Liesa, I am just quoting Millie, but I read your comment as well...
I think the whole thing is blown a bit out of proportion. It is one of the worst outbreaks of a rather nasty disease and I think it is important to try everything to reduce the risks. Unfortunately this is harming a lot of vegetable farmers at the moment who have greenhouses full of tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce and can't sell anything of their stuff.
The way to avoid infection is good hygiene: i.e. wash everything very good, wash your hands several times a day. Keep your kitchen clean. A lot of basic stuff. And then of course: everything that has been cooked is fine as well. But cooked lettuce just isn't something I like... :crazy2: So far it seems like the main herd of infections is in North-Western Germany, so neither where Katharina nor I live. And since it is asparagus season, I am eating lots of that: it has to be cooked. :thumbsup2
Unfortunately EHEC is some really nasty bacteria. It can get into your own garden even (even though I think for a whole of other reason growing your own organic vegetables is really great!). Most cows, goats and sheep are carriers of one or the other type of EHEC. It just appears that this new variant is much more aggressive than others. The scary thing is that they think that one of the reasons why those dangerous variants of EHEC started to develop was the overuse of antibiotics for cattle. I guess it might be something which we will have to get used to occurring again and again - and not only if you eat undercooked meat or raw milk cheese (two things which I really love to eat: a medium-rare steak and French cheese...).

Well, I'm glad we didn't move to the house next to the one with all the goats!! Something in me said this was the last place I wanted to move to, and I couldn't pin point why. It was a really nice place, perfect for everything we needed or wanted to do. Thank you Lord!
Magdalena, I kinda thought the same about how it's being blown out of perportion (most media does-no matter where you live), but I'm also not the one living there, so I didn't want to say anything. Those poor farmers in Spain and all around who are going belly up in their business because of the scare.
Well, I'm doing a good job according to what your saying, I wash my hands more than most people probably do and hate a dirty kitchen when I cook. I wash down the handle and seats on the carts at the grocery store before I shop (with the wipes they provide), and if they don't have wipes I carry some with me. I'm not the paranoid type, but I do realize how disgusting grocery store carts can be. My daughter became REALLY sick after being in a grocery store cart when she was little, I won't ever forget how awful it was and will not use a cart without the wipes from that point on. :sad2:
Like I said, I'll be praying for you and your family to stay well. Y'all are to precious to us for you to be getting sick like that. You can never have to much covering from the Big Guy Himself. :goodvibes
By the way, asparagus is one of my all time favs. I love to buy them as skinny as I can, snap off the pithy bottoms (they break exactly where the more course stuff needs to come off) lay them out on a cookie sheet, drizzle with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, little garlic powder (you can leave this off), and some lemon juice squeezed over them and in the oven at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Perfecto! Sooo tasty! :goodvibes
I have too... ; I don't think there were any bad feelings. Except when my son ate the last piece of pizza... :scared1:
Huh?!? I'm so cornfused, when was your son in the same place Dan was? Didn't you all just have a meet? You had to, there's no other way your son would be in the same place Dan would be otherwise. LOL I'll stop talking to myself now. :rotfl:

No doubt Glenn. That stuff is N A S T Y! Budlight is nasty without lemon, covering it up with Lemon isn't going to make it any better. :sad2:

It was great to have knocked off several things from my Must-do list in the Minnie Book on Main Street alone. Taking some extra time to find those little hidden gems was pretty important to me. Not only did I have an incredible interaction with Mr. Piano Man, tour the Fire Station, and visit the Glass Shop, but I also sat in the side street and heard the piano lesson, found some HMs in the Emporium, and took in the entire Trolley Show. What didn’t come through in my last update was the little girl who I was standing next to during that show. Let me tell you what I saw:
Completely decked out in authentic costume, obviously handmade with tender loving care, was a little girl about 10 or 11 years old. As the music played, she followed EVERY step of the dancers there on the sidewalk, never missing one beat. The crowd was almost as amazed at her as the show on the street. At one point, she reached behind her for the flag prop, and followed along with that too. After the show, I asked her mother how she had learned to do that, and was told that she had watched videos of the Trolley Show for years, and this was her dream- to dance and sing along. Truly it was wonderful to see a little girl making such a memory!
Getting stuck in the parade (I ALWAYS seem to get stuck in the parades!) ate up another 20 minutes, but soon I was back up Main Street and found myself getting ravishing… er, I mean ravished, no wait… I mean ravenous. And Columbia Harbor House was on the docket. Get it? Dock It? Ok, moving on….
There’s only one thing I was even remotely interesting in filling me belly with: the most delectable, tasty tuna toting sandwich around. Not for your average land lubber, of course! You’re not a land- lubber, are you?? I grabbed my POC and clicked a couple pictures for those who have the need to see.

Apparently, I thought I’d need about 20 forks and sporks to consume my lunch. I loved my free ice water along with my chips (nice selection of those, by the way). The ranch packet was also free on the condiment rack thingy (I’d say bar, but it was not really a bar like you’d find at Pecos Bills or La Cava). Why in the world I thought I needed more glop on my nicely mayonnaised sandwich, I’ll never know, but I grabbed it nonetheless.
My time out spot was nicely situated, don’t you think? Here, on the upper story looking down over the crowds and construction was no less than fabulous! My landing was air conditioned, rather undiscovered, and relatively quiet too.

Something added to my itinerary late in the game was taking a jaunt thru ToonTown for some last pictures before it met its demise. I’ve never enjoyed this area, always seeming far too crowded and just not my style. I know a lot of people really enjoy the character Meets and whatnot, but I never got into it, so avoided it until today. It didn’t take long to quickly remind me why. It was packed again, and very difficult to get any photos. But for Tim, who had specifically asked for pix of the new construction I tried to sneak behind a fenced off area, and get some sneaky photos. It didn’t work. Because I chickened out. Either that or my good sense took over when I realized that the punishment could be getting put on the Astro Orbiter for an hour.
So, having wasted a good hour diddling around in Toonville, I headed for more exciting galaxies- The galaxies of Tomorrow to be exact. It was the one land I hadn’t really visited yet while solo, so pulling a U-turn with lunch still Anchored firmly, I set a line for:

I just love this show!! I love everything about it, but especially that catchy little tune that I always find myself humming along to during the show. Every day is a great big, beautiful tomorrow, and today was the tomorrow of yesterday’s dreaming!! After my spin through the decades, I took a spin on the TTA. I was a person who was moved on that fine day, turning late afternoon, whisking through Tomorrowland. One highlight was catching the lights on in Space Mountain . I know ALL of my photos are really, really bad from my ride, but here are the few I did get. Perhaps Tom Morrow will fix them.

GREAT!! I should call soon, I guess! So many other more important things to take care of first- like a rental car, which is proving to be of utmost frustration!
Yes! I think the one I chose will be great! It's within easy walking distance, looks really pretty and was the right price with a guaranteed handicapped room.

I've stayed at the Anabella and was thrilled with it. It wasn't PP but for the price and the location it was just outstanding and had tons of room. Granted this was a LONG time ago but from what I hear, it's still a good spot! I'd stay there again.

The last couple of years it's been cold, rainy and yucky in Dec., I'm concerned it will be a let down and not worth the money. The Christmas decorations aren't that important to me. I know, that sounds terrible. :guilty: I've been to DL so many times with the Christmas decor up that it's really not that big a thrill to me. And I know my DH, he's be pretty upset about paying an extra 140/160 dollars to stay in a park that should be open to us any way. That's another thing that sorta bothers me about going in Dec., the park hours stink. Just call me Debbie downer.
What else ya got?!?

I can absolutely understand what you are saying. And I think those are all valid concerns. To me December is way low on my list of months to go to WDW (August and July would be even worse though). I did not enjoy the rather unpleasant weather last January at all and the fact that the MK closes so early on so many evenings due to the parties is rather annoying. I did not like that at all when planning my park days for October. Even with 11 days it was hard to find days to see Wishes. I like Christmas decorations in general, but they aren't important to me. And at WDW I rather love the parks as they were designed and am not keen on additional decorations at all. Besides that I have heard plenty of reports now that Decembers are getting more and more crowded.
Sorry I am no help in making you excited about December, but I wanted to say that you should not feel like a Debbie Downer, you are just realistic! :goodvibes

I think she was hoping you would give her tips on how to earn points in MY contest.......since you are so good at it. ;)
OH! My bad. But how can you say I"m good at it, if I"ve not scored any bonus points in like 4 rounds??? I've had the same couple for almost the whole game.
Marv you can give me TIPS for your contests !!:rotfl2:By the way I have strated a Pole Dancing Frenzy!!!!:lmao::lmao:Lake George mya never recover !!!!:rotfl2:
OY VEY! Watch out! Elvis and Rosie would be quite the dynamic duo!
Thanks for taking the time to keep track of all those answers!
Those FPs would have been sweet. You will have a great time wherever you are.
Let your fingers do the walking :tiptoe:
Does take a fair bit of time, but oh so worth it!!
Yeah, I know... but realistically, with the GAC card (I'm assuming they have those) we they might not have been so much help, unless I split off from the others and do my own thing once or twice.
Yep! Found the rental car... ANYONE HEARD OF APlus Rentals before?? I've not and am sorta nervous about it all! But the price was pretty good.
Same happened with us both times our church sent us on missions trips. The big joke was "Don't send the B's out anymore, they always come back pregnant"; to which I always replied, "That's what happens when you send us to remote places with no internet or TV! Next time send us to Europe."
Of course, we'd never trade ours in either, although I"m starting to second think that one, as I teach the 3 oldest to drive this summer. :scared1::scared1::scared1:
My mom is allowed to go with us any time she wants. She understands our system to be able to get on everything with minimum waits even during peak season. But my dad and in-laws, yeah never again!! My dad is just a complainer and my mother in law is selfish. That should explain enough.
Hard to go with the selfish or impatient ones. Done that too. :sad2:
That one came up on my search as well, but I nixed it as it was about $50 more than the Anabella. I think for as little as we'll be going back and forth, this one will work. What irks me though, is the $12 /day parking "fee". What a crock of poo that is!!

Liesa, I am just quoting Millie, but I read your comment as well...
The way to avoid infection is good hygiene: i.e. wash everything very good, wash your hands several times a day. Keep your kitchen clean. A lot of basic stuff. And then of course: everything that has been cooked is fine as well.
Just plain good advice, outbreak or no. Having lived in a pretty dirty place for such a long time, a lot of this just comes as second nature to us.
and not only if you eat undercooked meat or raw milk cheese (two things which I really love to eat: a medium-rare steak and French cheese...).
OH such a shame you have to give this up for a while. So yummy!
Good Morning All just checking in before work !!!
So sorry I am just getting to this, Rosie! But I hope you're having a great day today wherever you are!
Saw the FB - thanks! I am going to double check tonight but I think we are good!
Marv is right! I want to know what you did on FB to get bonus points in his game! I am very happy with how I did in your last round and I can't wait until your next round! I loved the bonus components you added last time!
Sent you the address...
I have no idea how I got those bonus points, but I think I have an idea of how to get more from here on out. :rolleyes1 It stemmed from a hilarious type I made, that would be very much bleeped out around here. :lmao: And if you need any more info. we've had the very same topic come up on this thread occassionally.
sorry to lazy to seperate it out.

just glad they liked the toppings.

Perfecto! Sooo tasty! :goodvibes
My mom makes that on ocassion.... Andrew says he loves it when she makes it and he's over for dinner. I should try it now that the price for it has come down.
Huh?!? I'm so cornfused, when was your son in the same place Dan was? Didn't you all just have a meet? You had to, there's no other way your son would be in the same place Dan would be otherwise. LOL I'll stop talking to myself now. :rotfl:
Andrew and Bek and I went up to Meet with Dan and Candi on their way through Portland for a flight. We shared some pizzas and had a great time talking. I'm sure you'll hear more about it on his thread in a little bit.
No doubt Glenn. That stuff is N A S T Y! Budlight is nasty without lemon, covering it up with Lemon isn't going to make it any better. :sad2:
It is beer. It is nasty. Lime does not help beer. I am done.
Look at those sexy toes!!!
We both must be weird cause I thought the same thing. That and cute shoes!
I love those shoes!! Still wearing them, when the sun decides to shine around here!:sad2:
Is it a requirement of the DIS boards to take a foot photo on the Peoplemover? :rotfl: I took it too!
YES! It is! :lmao:

Thanks for putting them in there for me to find!
By the way, I don't think you mentioned what you thought of the tuna sandwich....did it live up to the hype?
Why, you're so very welcome!
OK, my take on the tuna sandwich:
This is the second time I've had one. Both times, I thought it was a tasty, and very much welcome change from the burger and fries so ubiquitous found everywhere else. I don't like fried foods very often, so I really wanted a place where I could find a healthier option- not that mayo is stunningly healthy, but it was deep fat fried. What can I say? It was a tuna sandwich. The tomato was still pretty fresh, the lettuce was relatively crisp, and for the money it was a filling meal. I'd have like a bit of pickle relish in my tuna, but whatever. I know not everyone likes that, so they leave it out. I suppose I could have added it from the condiment bar thingy, but didn't.
Tammie, Tammie, Tammie.......still so sweet and innocent!!! :rotfl2:
:lmao::lmao::lmao: You're funny, Marv.
Your pedicure is holding up nicely.
Love that tuna sandwich. It's already on my list for December. Put it in my dining app already.
Fun pictures. Love CoP. My old oven is in there!
So far, so good on that one, but OY VEY!! My blisters were just about peaking at this point!!! OUCHY!!! The blisters were definitely putting a damper and brake on my touring, and by the end of this day, I was reduced to hobbling/ limping.
It was a very nice sandwich, and lived up to all I had hoped it would be.
Your oven is in there?? Like the one from the 50s?

Something added to my itinerary late in the game was taking a jaunt thru ToonTown for some last pictures before it met its demise. I’ve never enjoyed this area, always seeming far too crowded and just not my style.

I've stayed at the Anabella and was thrilled with it. It wasn't PP but for the price and the location it was just outstanding and had tons of room. Granted this was a LONG time ago but from what I hear, it's still a good spot! I'd stay there again.
Finally, someone who's heard of my pad. From the website, it really looks bee-u-tee-ful!! Apparently, it was voted best landscaped property in Anaheim? I do love a pretty place. The parking fee still ticks me off though.
Wow! That place looks really nice! I see they have a great rate for Cali residents - are you booking under your aunt's name, Liesa? Looks like they have tickets, too.:cool1:
I agree; I"m pleased with where we ended up. Although, I"ll reserve final judgement until we've stayed there. We actually ended up booking with my mom's senior citizen discount, which saved us each about $16. That adds up to a meal for each of us in my book. Still am working on tix; need to decide if I want to go into the park the night we arrive.
Your Anchors Aweigh Sandwich firmly anchored. :rotfl: I certainly hope so, espcially in that heat! :scared:
Carousel of Progress is one I've not been to yet. :sad2: Sad I know. It was one of my goals this last trip, but never made it. I guess I'll have to make it a priority this trip in December, at least that's when we're suppose to go next.
I'm not sure though, the whole idea of going in December is not my idea of the perfect time to go, it could be cold and rainy and yucky.
Someone want to talk me into going on my trip in December? I'm thinking about putting it off until Spring, then the Flower Festival will be going on. :lovestruc All it takes to make this girl happy is :flower1:.
What's a girl to do? :confused3
Ooooh, I wish you had gotten a picture of the little girl dressed to the nine's on Main St., that's a picture I would like to have seen.
I"m not sure what to say about a Dec. trip. October is WAY higher on my list, just because the weather is nicer, the crowds are lower, and the Halloween stuff is up. The party of course, speaks for itself. That said, I do enjoy going for F&G as well. The topiaries are amazing and the grounds just look so superb.
I know.... I wish I had gotten a still shot of her as well. I MAY have some more vidoe of her too, but not sure where it is. Hmmm...

ITA- If we keep this up one of us will be there to report back to the other until they can go. :lmao:Yes, and if either of us has a contest, it should be really SIMPLE for the other one since we travel some pretty common paths....... :goodvibes

Great update! The writing about CHH was particularly sharp. Nicely done. I love CoP, too. I always have and that is a great song. Plus, it does have A/C no line either time I was there on the last trip. :goodvibes I also really enjoy the TTA. And your toes are lovely, too.

Oct is my favorite time of year at Disney. Second would be Dec. :)
Ummm... I heard that there's a Half in October, 2012... Just sayin'...
I am going again in October and I have to agree the weather was great last year. February has been a little to cool for me and September a little hot , August is gonna be BRUTAL!!!:scared1: I also loved late April and early May !!Am gonna try December next year !!I
I've gone Jan, April twice and Sept. Best weather hands down was April, but Sept. was really NOT bad- but I LOVE, love, LOVE me some hot, so I'm not the best judge, I think.
Wonderful update! You did 3 of my favorite things. Lunch at CHH, upstairs with a view of Fantasyland, COP-so nice and relaxing and a ride on the TTA.:thumbsup2
IT was a nice line up, I thought. Just relaxing enough to cool me off after than HOT walk for not much to Toontown. :lmao:
Thank goodness I don't have to even think about this for another 12 years since my oldest is only 4. I remember when my dad taught me t drive he went gray pretty quick!! lol
I'd love to say you've got a while, but it sure came faster for me that I ever thought it would! Time moves so fast these days!
That's why from now on it's just us. Love my family and my in-laws but vacation is a time to have fun not complain.
Agreed. Family dynamics just don't have a place in vacations- especially if you know how it's been in the past. Like you , I LOVE my family, but that love is best done in the context of Christmas Eve and summer bbqs. :lmao:
We love it cuz the rooms are so big and fit our family comfortable. Plus when we normally go at Christmas time it's normally cheaper than all the other hotels within walking distance. When you have little ones taking that break in the middle of the day is a life saver!! I agree about the parking fee but think of it this way it's cheaper than paying to park at the parks!! lol
YOu are right; I know I'd be paying far more to stay at the PP, or DLR Hotel... so I'm still ahead.
Haven't done CoP before, and I'm still upset I didn't make it there the previous trip since it was on my list of things to do for the first time (along with that ride on the People Mover)!
I have GOT to remember to do that one on this next trip. Maybe with all the heat I will be more focused on finding inside stuff with A/C.
If you plan your parks correctly, you can also avoid most of the huge crowds. We at least have some days where the waits in line are rather short all day!!! :thumbsup2
:scared1: You haven't done CoP??!! You really must- like someone else sadi, it's Disney thru and thru!! Old school charm and all that. And yes, the A/C is definitely a bonus!
A well-planned day is a glorious thing! And there's so many tools to help you do that!
Good Morning all just checking in before I hit the scrapbooks again!!!
Good afternoon, Rosie!! Hope you get those scrapbooks done soon!
::yes:: You become a get out of the heat seeking missile.
:rotfl2: LOVE IT!

CoP never has a line; I think because it's such a big , revolving loader. And guaranteed you'll come out singing that catchy little ditty!

Finally, someone who's heard of my pad. From the website, it really looks bee-u-tee-ful!! Apparently, it was voted best landscaped property in Anaheim? I do love a pretty place. The parking fee still ticks me off though.
It is literally across the street. Walkable. I think the parking situation has changed at DL due to the Cars expansion but used to be you could just walk across the street and catch one of the parking lot trams in, or walk through DTD which was only an extra few blocks.
I will look forward to hearing if it's still as good. Oddly on our last trip, the sheraton was a better deal for the days we spent there as part of our package so we went there for 2 days and then to PP for 2 but I'd have taken the Anabella if I could have gotten it.
Love your goodbye to toontown...though I did notice those pretty toes were ON THE SEAT IN FRONT OF YOU

Ugh, behind yet again. I'm catching up right now though!
I want to do ALL of these things on one of my trips!
Absolutely precious! I hope her mom was filming it!
Oh how I hate getting stuck in parade crowds. It's a very sardine-like feeling, not that I'm a sardine but I think you know what I mean.;) Packed!
There’s only one thing I was even remotely interesting in filling me belly with: the most delectable, tasty tuna toting sandwich around. Not for your average land lubber, of course! You’re not a land- lubber, are you?? I grabbed my POC and clicked a couple pictures for those who have the need to see.
This sandwich sounds great! Well, minus the tuna since I despise the taste AND minus the bread because of my gluten problem...which leaves me with lettuce I guess? Ok, remind me not to order this sandwich!
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll305/All7OfUs/Disney%20Trip%202010%20Pt%202/DisneyTrip2010105.jpg
My time out spot was nicely situated, don’t you think? Here, on the upper story looking down over the crowds and construction was no less than fabulous! My landing was air conditioned, rather undiscovered, and relatively quiet too.

Lovely spot! It looks charming and quiet, two of favorite things! And not always easy to find at Disney (the quiet I mean).
So, having wasted a good hour diddling around in Toonville, I headed for more exciting galaxies- The galaxies of Tomorrow to be exact. It was the one land I hadn’t really visited yet while solo, so pulling a U-turn with lunch still Anchored firmly, I set a line for:

Carousel of Progress is fabulous! A quintessential Disney ride, truly wonderful! My whole family loves it and my youngest sings along too. I'm glad to hear you loved it too.

Once again, I find myself in a game quandary. Somehow, I’ve lost the answers to perhaps more than a few of your Master Predictor submissions. I am so sorry!! I know at least 2 of you have re-sent those to me (Tanya, is it possible to send those once again?) Here is the list of those for whom I still have the original answers. I KNOW more than 12 played! For some reason, I just must have mis-placed a bunch of answers in a computer transfer somewhere along the line.
:confused3:eek:
Glennbo, that's nice, Shannn, Jenb1023, Tinkgurl, Pollito916, Slpg.Booty, PyratePrincess, Cynthia, Millie, Rosie, Flossbolna, (Katharina, I have yours too now.)
I still think that there is still lots of room for play on this game!! So here’s what I’m proposing: Let’s toss out the questions that have already been revealed for the new players, and see what happens. As I look at the guesses from “old” players, Ummm… how do I put this nicely? There’s still lots of chance to clean up and win. I’ll highlight in red the questions that have already been revealed, and those will still count for the original players as an earlybird bonus. OR, if you are willing to do the work, and go back to the PTR, (I believe it would be either Pt. 2 or Pt. 3) and can find your original answers for me, I’d be happy to add those to my Excel spreadsheet. Either way. I hope it’s still fun, and there is still some interest value to the game- lots yet, I think. Now, go ahead and submit your answers here in the thread in super-secret white text. And of course, there must be at least one caveat. I want to put up my next installment in the next few days, so all answers have to be posted by Thursday! DH is climbing Mt. Hood Thursday night, and I’ll have ALL night to write and post! WOOT! Enjoy!

I love CHH. Never had the Anchors Aweigh sandwich though. I like tuna fish, but there's so much variety in what will be in it that it makes me nervous to order it. I like those tables that overlook Fantasyland.

I hate it because I feel trapped and can't get onto doing other things I'd rather. There's no way out, it always seems.
This sandwich sounds great! Well, minus the tuna since I despise the taste AND minus the bread because of my gluten problem...which leaves me with lettuce I guess? Ok, remind me not to order this sandwich!

you sound like me and bananas...
Lovely spot! It looks charming and quiet, two of favorite things! And not always easy to find at Disney (the quiet I mean).
That's for sure!!
Carousel of Progress is fabulous! A quintessential Disney ride, truly wonderful! My whole family loves it and my youngest sings along too. I'm glad to hear you loved it too.
:yay:
You're right, these pics are bad. Just kidding! I love the People Mover but I've yet to ride it while the SM lights are on. That would be very cool to see!
No, they really are bad... :lmao: The POC just didn't do well in the dark or while moving. It was really weird to see SM with the lights on!! ODD, I tell you!
You too! It's a dream come true, for you and me...:rolleyes1
Great update Liesa!:thumbsup2
Thanks, Molly!!! I hope to get the next one up on Thursday night!

Were master predictor responses originally submitted via PM, or in super secret spy white text??? It has been quite a while but it seems like I submitted answers right towards the end when I was new to your thread so way behind and didn't have a clue so they were purely guesses. I checked my PM send box with no luck, so if that was the method I guess I will just have to, well, GUESS again!!! Otherwise I will try searching your PTR threads and see if I get lucky and find my original response...... :confused3

Looking like we won't be able to go afterall, and the worst of it, is that I'm now stuck without $291 bucks unless someone comes forward to buy them! Sheesh!! Family camp was scheduled and then NOT written down on my calendar. I HATE THAT!!!
Bummer! Hope you can find someone to buy the tickets!

Uh oh. Given my wild success on Marv's prediction game, I can only imagine that my point totals are about to take a similar nose-dive here.
Super-secret inviso-text on:
1) Which building will we end up getting at POP? 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s?
2) Will we really end up watching the EWP? Sure, why not?
3) What color will our first monorail be?
Orange. Just because. And even though it's written in a white font.
4) How many times will we ride EE? Toy Story? Soarin’? and Splash Mountian?
EE: Three times, since I think you already have 2 under your belt.
TSMM: 2
Soarin': 3

2.
10) Will we get Halloween decorations or not?

Ooooh!!! I love Les Mis and the live performances are wonderful! Yay for Liesa! :cool1::woohoo::cheer2::banana:
Unfortunately, I"m selling off my tickets... I have 3 left... hint, hint.
LOVE LOVE LOVE  Les Mis! they had a PBS show with the singing - I stayed up till 2am watching it - then of course it was repeated over and over again!
I'm behind again - good thing 3p quoted all that -
I have to say shhhhh on the hidden gem upstairs eating - soon everyone will know that secret - and I wont be able to get a seat there!! I'll have to share a picture of our last trip and the seat WE got!! :rolleyes1
It's totally worth staying up til 2:00 AM to watch... IMHO, it's the best music score still running.
I know; we DISers have bad habits of sharing some primo info... and we all hope it stays secret! HA!
:lmao:
Now that you put THAT out there, how can I ever sit on that ride again? My feet always go up
My Asparagus recipe olive oil - and sesame seeds roast in oven - yum! Or just roast, and after they are just right, drizzle a bit of 18year old Balsamic Vinegar (18 yr is sweet - anything younger is sour!)
I've heard that - but where are the houses going?
Last time we went we did the Mickey Mouse Tour - our guide pointed out so many little details in Mickey's House...
It's instinkt to put them up- we can't help ourselves. :lmao:
My parents always buy "antique" balsalmic as well, and believe it, or not, they actually drizzle it on ice cream!! I"ve not personally tried it, as I can't afford 18 year old stuff, but it sounds like something I'd love to try!
Perhaps they are taking bids over at MouseSurplus?? :lmao: I dunno, maybe a museum? Archived in a warehouse?? Who knows!
The houses have sadly been demolished.
I have to admit, I personally am not too sad, but do know what it feels like to have a favorite attraction get relagated to the annals of history- Mr. Toad was one of them for me.
I don't know why, but that story made me tear up! How sweet!
I confess I got choked up too... :goodvibes In a good way.
Yummo! My favorite CS meal at MK!
My favorite meal was a Dole Whip :lmao::lmao::lmao: And yes, I did make it a meal the night before!
That's always been my favorite scene from the TTA. LOVE Walt's vision of the community of tomorrow...
Anything that smacks of Walt is GREAT in my book! :thumbsup2
For the record - I too think your pedi looks great! I seem to remember some weirdo at the airport that agreed, no?;)
Yes, the pervert who thought cute feet were something to comment on. :rotfl2:

I love CHH. Never had the Anchors Aweigh sandwich though. I like tuna fish, but there's so much variety in what will be in it that it makes me nervous to order it. I like those tables that overlook Fantasyland.
The little girl dancing with the trolly show sounds really cute. I bet she added a lot to the performance. :goodvibes
It's pretty inocuous tuna, plenty plain enough with mostly mayo as the mix- I can't remember if there's relish or not in it.
Aren't those table divine?!
she was just adorable! Costuming was spot on, and her dancing impeccable- she had long blonde curls to boot! :cloud9:

Such a neat blessing to enjoy!
I wonder though if it is randomized somehow. I guess if I were a manager, I'd throw in some Year of a Million Dreams technique and set up a "next family that walks in after 7:30, with anniversary buttons on" or "the first family with 2 boys under 5" gets to be the FotD. Makes it less subjective, and since it's already been done that way, I wonder if this is sort of carry-over.?

The afternoon came blistering on. Yeah, it was hot, but that’s not what I was referring to entirely. Let me, for a moment, expound upon the bane of blisters. You know when you work in the yard and forget your gloves? A pesky little water-filled beauty slowly appears to give you annoying grief for a day or so. It’s amazing how a little piece of raised flesh, tucked into a tender spot can give some much grief! Now imagine a mega-sized bubble the magnitude of say, a dinner plate sitting strategically on one’s heel. Ok, now imagine 2 of them, one on each side, just to make things symmetrical. These are large enough that the width of a typical band-aid won’t contain its hideousness. Children see them and run screaming; parents run frantically away to find Beverley as a strong curative potion for their shock at the sight; for the blistered each painful minute passes with nothing to do, and he prays for relief, but none will come. Such was the situation of my existence for the last 48 hours, crescendoing to a climax not long after this.
Now that the stage has been set for afternoon, and on into the evening hours, let’s listen in on a phone call from LeeAnn at 4:15:
Liesa: “Hi LeeAnn, where are you?”
LeeAnn: “ We’re just taking off from Minneapolis!”
Liesa: “OH! That’s great you got a flight out tonight.”
LeeAnn: “It’s a 3 and a half hour flight. I don’t think I’ll make it for dinner.”
Liesa: “Well, the check-in guy rescheduled our ADR for 7:30, we can check in then and explain you’re on your way and see what happens.”
LeeAnn: “OK, but please don’t wait for me to eat. I’ll be there when I get there.”
Liesa: “We’re excited and waiting! Bye!”
LeeAnn: She’s polite too, so she said good-bye back.
5:00 rolled around, and MK had played itself out for me. Tate had had some hilarious kicks and giggles, Main Street provided more than enough entertainment, and I shamelessly propped my feet up on the TTA- at least I didn’t crazy dance. I had one singular objective in going back early… to see the Tiki Lighting Ceremony…
So, I hopped on the monorail- Lordy, I love the Poly!- and went back “home”…… and was promptly informed that they didn’t do that on this particular day- whatever day of the week that was. I don’t even remember now, because this TR is THAT ancient. Thoroughly deflated with visions of meat skewers floating as apparitions in my growing appetite, I asked myself, “ What could I possibly fill my time up with then until Mary showed up at 7:00? Hmmm… how about get a little artsty…

By the time I had wandered around pestering CMs and guests alike to have fun photoshoots of yours truly, gasping in shock at the prices in the Wyland Gallery, and asking myself how much longer I’d have to stave off my craving for my Lapu, it was finally time to head to the Tambu and meet Mary. It was now 7:00, and we still had not heard from LeeAnn that she had landed. Can you feel the drama??
The Tambu was a groovin’, hip-hopping, if not Island vibin’ place… that had no seating to be found when I got there. So like an opportunistic teenager who is always looking for his next pizza fix, I hungrily scoped out who might be leaving next and sidled on up and waited. Soon, Mary showed up and we swooped in (well, she commandingly wheeled in) on a table we’d share with a nice little family and eventually get sloshed with. Well, ok, we didn’t really get sloshed, but by the time LeeAnn showed up, (oops, I’m supposed to be maintaining some semblance of suspense here, aren’t I? My bad.) we were pretty juiced up. At least I was, because, I’m telling you- that Heaven in a Pineapple was strong and guuuuuuuuuuuuud!
Tate enjoyed choosing his libation as well

and recommended a Midori Sour for Mary, which she ordered.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll305/All7OfUs/Disney%20Trip%202010%20Pt%202/2010SeptDisneyDay5389.jpg
She’ll have to give her own critique, but I think she applauded the Tambu’s efforts. In the end, Tate just ended up stealing a few sips of mine, and agreed it was one of the best drinks on the planet. Not quite as good as the apricot sour at HBD, but exceedingly tasty nonetheless. I can tell you, I wasn’t the only one who thought so!
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll305/All7OfUs/Disney%20Trip%202010%20Pt%202/2010SeptDisneyDay5392.jpg
True to Continental’s flight time estimations, LeeAnn did land at 7:30. Right on time for our scheduled ADR. But would Disney work with us? Could I pass off my tears over blisters as tears over missing our opening dinner because Continental forgot to change an oil filter making my friend late?? LeeAnn called from the ME bus, telling us she was on her way, and would come straight to the lounge. I went to the check-in desk and explained our situation, and they told us that although they couldn’t guarantee immediate seating when she did come, that we should just tell them when she arrived and they would give us a buzz when they could. I was pretty sure the Tambu was already taking care of that.
Did I mention that Lupus are tasty? So nomilicious, in fact, that one was simply not going to cut it. And ladies and gents, I am here today to pass along Disney Touring Tip #412. Do not order another full Lapu at $14, or whatever ridiculous price it was. My server, who was WAY too chatty, by the way (one of those hanger-onners, like a pesky piece of TP on your shoe kind), informed us that a more economical way (does Disney even KNOW the meaning of that concept?) to get more liquor is to order an $8 Mai Tai, and dump it in the fruit. Not exactly the same thing but close, and hey, after a Lapu, who’s really going to know the difference? About the same time my re-fill arrived, so did LeeAnn. It was bliss to finally all be together around 8:00- a full 3 hours later than when she first had been scheduled to get to the Poly. In the grand scheme of things, though, that really wasn’t too bad for having to completely reroute, layover and all that jazz. And as a celebration, I handed her my drink. I had only had one sip, and was certain after such a crappy day, she’d want it without further delay. And being in a celebratory mood as such, I promptly ordered up another for myself from Mr. Chatty himself.

I sent mine by PM earlier this morning. :)
Got it, Kathy! Now that I have the update done, I'll be writing down answers.
I know I should play but I'm gonna pass on this one. Next time.
IT's ok, we all only have as much time as we do. And I"m sure there will be other times to play along :)
Hmm, did you by chance steal this "reminder" idea from anyone??? :rotfl:
Actually, didn't you say the same thing months ago when you originally posted the Master Predictor game??? :confused3 :rolleyes1
(so is that scrutinized enough for you???) :rotfl:
Truthfully, no. I got on, posted this, then went to your thread, read and commented, then read Barry's. It IS funny though that they practically said the same things verbatim! And now that my update is done, I'm coming over to see if your is....
And yes, when I posted that about the game, I did have to chuckle to myself and wonder if it'd be YOU or Glenn who'd say exactly that. Do we all know each other too well, or what? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We pick on each other mercilessly at times and laugh at ourselves and each other. wait a minute - that Lapu, something is so wrong... HOW do you get INSIDE it? I mean really - that hole? does the top come off? Because that's my favorite thing when I had a Lapu - take that straw and shove it in the fruit, and then suck out the fruit.... yum, there's lots of fresh pineapple inside that carved out container!!

when you go to a conference or convention, or anywhere that has free stuff we call it SWAG.
a sentence that is commonly used around the office.
Did you get any SWAG?

now i saw the suttle hint in your last update...but it was there....you ordered a mai tai for the second drink, and poured it into the pineapple.
but to be nice, (and partly because you didnt think it was quite as good as the original,) you offered it to your dear friend who traveled all day.
while secretly you knew it was a nice gesture, by compleating this gesture you were able to order yourself another fruity drink.
so my answer of 4 drinks consumed by you was correct.
1. because you got your first lapu lapu
2. you ordered your mai tai.
3. your mai tai turned into a fake lapu lapu when you poured it into the pineapple thus infussing it with pineapple juice and creating a 3rd drink.
4. you were a lush and ordered another lapu lapu
thus my reasoning is correct you had 4 drinks that night, and taking a sip of each counts for consuming them.

That was a might fine thought process, Dan!! And it would have been even more completely amazing HAD I BEEN TALKING ABOUT ONLY THE DRINKS FOR THAT NIGHT. What a great update, Liesa. I love all the pictures but the one above is a favorite. I have never been to the Tambu Lounge and never had one of those drinks. We are meeting DIS friends from London at the Lounge in September and I already know what I'm ordering. ;)
So glad that LeeAnn arrived and you were able to adjust your dinner time; and also happy Tate enjoyed sharing your drink with you.

I'm happy with that one too. Such a fun evening in every way. The Tambu was really pretty busy, packed with peoples! But a nice vibe happening. It's a perfect place to have a meet! Great music, even better drinks.
Yup, she arrived just in time, had it been ANY longer, at all, we'd have gone in without her. :yay:

First off, I'm very sorry you were suffering with blisters. Did you bring some moleskin? I'm also sorry you missed the tiki lighting. Not that I've ever seen it but I do know what's it's like to miss something that you're really looking forward to.
Love the photo opps you got at the Poly. You've given me some idea for the next time we have Michelle there. She's usually game to fun photo opps. Oh the suspense of whether or not LeAnn would make it was killing me. I'm so glad she did.
I've never had the Lapu Lapu but my son did in 2007 and we have the funniest pictures of him enjoying it.
Love the pictures of Tate. He's such a ham.
I'm looking forward to your actual diner. Did you do the Hula?

A quickie drive-by post before I head off to camp with my Brownie troop for the weekend! First, a few facts for your amusement as you think of me this weekend. . . I am not overly outdoorsy and prefer hotels, I do not like bugs at all and we are supposed to have thunderstorms while camping with 15 8-year-olds. (On the bright side I think we are in a lodge and not a tent!)
Liesa - I love how you get so many people to take photos of you doing goofy things! You are one brave and fun lady! The Poly is so fun to explore and I would love to do it again some time.
Lapu Lapu -:love:! DH and I shared one during our brief Poly stay.
Sorry about the blisters! okay TMI here but it might help. . . DH loves Body Glide for chafing and others swear it also works great on feet to help avoid blisters. I learned about it on the DIS (lie so many other wonderful things!).
So glad you were able to push back dinner and that Leeann made it! :yay::woohoo:
See you Sunday!

The blisters would be taken care of soon... I did have moleskin, but it didn't do squat. They were in such an ODD place. Right where the tougher skin on the heel meets the softer part right on the very back. And no lie, they were quarter sized or even larger. I SO wish I had gotten a good picture of them- they were truly monstrous!
The Tiki show will have to go onto my wish list for next time... there's always something!
Love the photo opps you got at the Poly. You've given me some idea for the next time we have Michelle there. She's usually game to fun photo opps. Oh the suspense of whether or not LeAnn would make it was killing me. I'm so glad she did.
There's a ton of fun photo ops at the Poly!! Well all over Disney really! It's a photographer's dream place! Not that I'm a photographer or anything, but you get the idea!
She made it really by the skin of her teeth. We really couldn't stall out any longer, and would have had to go in very soon!
I've never had the Lapu Lapu but my son did in 2007 and we have the funniest pictures of him enjoying it.

To all my lovlies...
Alas the carriage is waiting to take me to slumberland. My battery is dying (the computer's, not mine) and everyone's asleep, so I can't go find it. I have a HUGE bonfire/ airsoft/ croquet/ volleyball/ BBQ/ late night movie party tomorrow and need to get some sleep before a long day. I won't be on Sunday, as you know, so will have to finish up responses and catching up on threads on Monday. Although... I won't have a lot of time then either. I leave on Tuesday for California, and will be on and off while there for the week.
Trusting you will all have a WONDERFUL weekend ahead! Mary should have an update up Monday or early in the week. Until then....

Love the update!! I've been a way for a few days due to graduations, Mary Kay parties (I sell), helping my best friend pack whose moving to San Diego tomorrow and now a sick baby!!! Lots going on!!
On a positive and sad note it looks like we are going to have to reschedule our trip to Disneyland next week. My husband got called back to work yesterday and I didn't think it would be a good idea for him to say oh I'm going to need next week off cuz we're going to Disneyland when he was just off for 5 weeks!!! And we'll be in Oregon over the 4th of July visiting my family so he'll be taking at least one day there. I was sooooo looking forward to getting the opportunity to meet but alas it wasn't meant to be. :sad1: Maybe next time!

Liesa, in case I don't get to say it in time: I hope you will have a wonderful trip to California despite all the potential problems this trip might bring with it. I wish you all the best and will be thinking of you while you are away.
I loved your story of your experience at the Tambu lounge. I had never been interested in the Lapu drink, it just seemed a bit of a rip off to charge so much more for it being served inside a pineapple. I love pineapples, but never saw the point of using one as a drinks container. However, your story really changed my mind and I am now seriously considering getting one in October!! :cool1:

Yep we sure are coming to Oregon. But unfortuntaly not your direction. We'll be heading to Klamath Falls. Bonanza to be exact. It's the southern east corner of the state. If we would be there for a longer trip like we have in the past I would make a day trip up your direction but it's not in the cards this trip. As of right now we'll be there from July 1st to July 4th. Leaving late on the 4th to come home. HOWEVER, I never received addresses for: Molly, PirateKate, or Jessica (JPFamilyMom). If you'd like your very useful prize you need to get your addresses to me. Unfortunately, unless you get these to me by say 1:00 PM PST, you'll have to wait until I come back next week to mall them. Everyone else, they'll be in the mail by tomorrow afternoon.
Now, I need to go back and find those Pt. 2 Winners and start thinking about prizes for them. Hmmm... something from the Motherland perhaps??

Thanks, Magdalene! My step uncle called my mom and really gave her a reality check about my aunt's condition. She is very close to a feeding tube, and will likely be on hospice soon. This trip is really, I don't know, iffy. She chokes a lot on her food, and I am horribly afraid she will while we are at Disney. She only wants to stay one night, so MAYBE my mom and I will sneak back to the parks for another day without her, if time allows; we shall see.
I came up with an idea about the pineapple: I am almost positive, if you ask, the bartender or the chef will cut up your fruit if asked. Then you can munch on it at the table during dinner, or for a light dessert. Heck, tell them you want to take it back to the room? :confused3 Then, there's no waste and you get a double whammy- drinks and dessert. :thumbsup2

YOu know Tammie (MAGICFOR2) lives in Klamath Falls. I wonder if she'd be up for a DISMeet on her home turf? We'll (my kids and I )will be headed her way for an airshow on the airbase there, and getting some of her hospitality. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

That was a might fine thought process, Dan!! And it would have been even more completely amazing HAD I BEEN TALKING ABOUT ONLY THE DRINKS FOR THAT NIGHT. The question was in reference to the entire trip, silly billy. So far there've been 4. Apricot Sour at HBD, Welsh Dragon at Rose and Crown, and the Lapu and supplemental (cheaper) re-fill. 4. Now, go back and guess again, there's 8 days left of the trip.
