View Full Version : Teens at Palo's?

I've done a search to see if I could find an answer to a question, but no luck.

We will be on the 7 day cruise. We've been on DCL twice already, but my daughters were younger so the thought of bringing them never crossed my mind.

Now that they are both teens, and very mature, restaurant savy types, is it at all possible to book a table at Palo's and bring your teenage kids with you? We really want to minimize the time without them, and would prefer to bring them with us if possible. (I also recognize that fellow passengers want an escape from kids at Palo, and that it might not be fair to others if the adult only sanctuary at Palo's was abused. My thought is that knowing my two daughters, they would not stand out as being "kids".)

Anyone done this? If it were possible, thoughts on this idea?

Uh oh, Dave, hot button topic here. ;)

The answer is no, they won't allow teens in. I have heard of them allowing a few 17-year-olds in who were a month or so shy of turning 18, but none younger than that, sorry!

it's my understanding that you have to be 18 to eat there.....
i don't know if they bring up the names of everyone on the reservation on the computer.....after all, they do have everyone's age on file....
(for example, if you try to use the spa, they check your age to make sure you're old enough......but i don't know if they do that at palo's as well....)

As the signs say at several of the adult only areas on the ship, and as printed in the Navigator: Out of respect for our adult guests, no one under the age of 18 is permitted.

Thanks for the reply everyone.

I have broken it to my daughters that they will have to say a brief goodbye ( ) to their parents at least once during the cruise and have told them that they will have to settle for the next best thing --- Mom and Dad's heartfelt sympathies on having to miss this and a detailed play-by-play description of Palo's desert pizza.

I mean, inasmuch as I love my darlins they wouldn't REALLY expect us to forgo Palo's on a Disney Cruise now would they!?

Dave,

Just an idea, but perhaps you could request that your server bring out an extra dessert pizza that you could take back to your stateroom for your daughters. They seem to be able to easily meet such requests.
