I've always wondered how the housekeeping staff report back to the front desk that the room is now ready for the guest. Is it all computerized? Do they have something like a PDA to do so? Or do they call it in? Just wondering.

I thought so, but how do they do it? what do they carry around with them?

I think, and don't quote me, they use a palm pilot type messanger, and, if that fails, they use a telephone.

During our last stay, on Trash n Towel day, my DD wasn't feeling well and was sleeping when the housekeeper came along. I exchanged towels with her and she asked me to dial an extension on my phone. Maybe she had to let someone know she was done with my room?
