We really don't want to leave the park to dine. Which would be the better choice?

Sci-FI! the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the burgers and desserts are great!
Brown Derby is way overpriced for mediocre food.

I think the Sci Fi is a lunch place.

Brown Derby is one of our favorite place for dinner.

I've never eaten at Brown Derby, but would strongly recommend either of the park's other sitdown restaurants -- Prime Time Cafe and Mama Melrose -- over Sci Fi. You will not find the burger raved about here on the dinner menu. My son asked to have one made special and it was awful, so I'm guessing maybe you don't really want to order it at dinner.

We loved the Sci-fi! Despite mixed reviews here on the boards all of our meals were good and the atmosphere and service was GREAT! The check comes as a parking ticket...! FUN

I've only been to the Brown Derby once for lunch and it was good.

As for Sci-Fi... well, if you stick to burgers, salads, and cold sandwiches you will probably have a good meal. Sci-Fi's problem is that for some time now the chefs have been trying to put out upscale meals on a fast food budget. I don't think the hoity-toity menus fit the theme of the restaurant at all, so it's just a stupid idea in my opinion. I think they should bring back the nachos and the hot wings and the burgers at dinner.

Just my 2 cents,

We didn't care for the Sci-Fi at all, just our opinion.
Food was okay, nothing great.

We had 3 in our party, and 2 of us sat in the frontseat of the car and 1 in the back. So we couldn't talk (even though they have a movie), couldn't share food, and person in backseat had to look at the back of our heads.

The BD is great, but be prepared its pricey, its in the league of WDW's upper scale restaurants like CG, AP, etc. We did the DB w/ the Fantasmic Package -- had great food, service. I highly recommend it.

PS. If BD is too pricey, try the PT 50's.

I think the Brown Derby is much better. Really nice atmosphere, and terrific food.

I think you made a good decision, Belle. I agree with Eeyore2U... Sci-Fi for lunch, BD for dinner.
