Resale & Banked Points

If you buy a resale with points banked from the 2001 use year and won't use them in the 2002 use year, do you lose them or do they remain banked? I'm considering a resale add-on with a March use year and my next trip home won't be until August 2003. The banked points are definitely a plus to the purchase unless I can't use them. I did read through the member book on banking and I admit I'm confused.

I am pretty sure that banked points must be used in the next member year. So yes, the banked 2001 points would need to be used in 2002. You can bank 2002 points for your 2003 trip.

Points from March, 2001 which have been banked must be used by Feb 28, 2003 or they will expire.

You could try to rent them on the Rent/Trade Board.

Thanks so much for clarifying. Unfortunately it's what I suspected. I'm assuming that "used" means arrive/check-in as opposed to a reservation. Oh well.....

Your assumption is almost correct. The banked points must be used for a STAY between 3/1/2002 and 2/28/2003. So, in the terms you posted, "used" means check out on or before 3/1/2003.
