GorillaPod for Wishes - best location?

Hey there,

I am trying to figure out where the best place to shoot Wishes from using my XSi on a GorillaPod. Any suggestions? I've done the rose garden before but wasn't entirely happy with the composition.

The train station would be good but I don't think I'm willing to wait there for three hours. I'm thinking about a light post somewhere but that could be dicey with the GorillaPod. I don't have a full size tripod and don't feel like packing one around. I realize I'm kind of limiting myself here but a full size tripod may just be the straw that broke the camels back when traveling with two little kids.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

I've used a light post with my Gorillapod SLR before, but that was back when I had my small Olympus E-510. I'm not sure about an XSi... might need a Gorillapod SLR-Zoom (or comparable knockoff)

This is the post closest to where Main Street meets the hub so there are no others in front of it. I used a wired shutter remote. Taken January 2008

That's awesome! Thanks Code. I was thinking about doing the same thing but wasn't sure if the legs would be long enough to get a decent way around the pole in order to hold itself up.

I have the GorillaPod SLR-Zoom with the ball head so it should be alright. How much in advance did you have to get there in order to get the light post?

There is a great spot on the walkway near Crystal Palace that we've used previously for Wishes, etc ... there is usually a garbage can close by to use to set up your Gorillapod ... We would definitely recommend it!

Definitley need to scout it out early in the day and get some sample pics.

Code - I also love all of the LCD screens that you can see in your first picture...too funny!
