Update from Robin - Caitlyn's mom

I talked with Robin some today and wanted to give you all an update.

I had posted before that her SO Dan was pretty sick and didn't want medical attention. Several things have happened since then but I'll start there.

Dan & Robin were married in a small ceremony at their home. Caitlyn was thrilled that Dan is her new Dad.

She was able to get him to the Dr once but he didn't stay long, just enough for them to verify that he was very ill. About Labor he lost consciousness and she called 911. After about a week in the hospital they were able to stablize him but also diagnosed lung cancer. He opted not to receive treatments because the drs did not believe it would extend his time much if at all. They were able to get a hospice nurse to help with his care at home so he is able to be there with Robin & Caitlyn. He is more comfortable now that his pain is being managed but doesn't have energy for much.

I too have been in touch in the past few days with Robin and she had passed this information on. So very sad, Janette. My prayers have been with them all. We do know miracles do happen.

The few times I have met them, I was always impressed by Dan's love for Robin and Caitlyn. My best for all.

From what I remember of Robin's posts of Dan, he's a truly special man. I am so sad to hear his time on earth will be cut short.:( I can imagine how Robin and Caitlyn are handling all this.:( Caitlyn deserves a dad like Dan.

In our talks Robin has indicated that Caitlyn has very much enjoyed having Dan around. He makes a special effort to spend as much time with her as possible. Yes, they do deserve more of it. :( Caitlyn does know he is sick but not the expected result.

How wonderful that they have such a warm and caring relationship to share with one another. Some folks never find that kind of love in their lifetime. And how sad that it may be cut short by illness. I will pray for them all.

Oh, this is so very sad to hear. My prayers are with them all. This fills my heart with so much sadness.

I'm very sorry to hear this. :( I met them all last December and they are such a lovely family. Indeed, they were fortunate to find eachother. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
