Hi, I know there are codes and special rates (ie: $49.00 ALL STARS). We just got back from WDW and we spent a fortune (happy to do it, it was an amazing vacation). BUT I am starting to plan our next trip. We will likely go again in two years (although I am thinking maybe next year). Here is my question: Are these codes/specials a usual thing ~ have they been around a long time? Do you all think they will be around for a couple or more years from now? THX

I've been lurking and participating on this board for about 2? years, and I have never seen this many codes flying around. Whether it will last is anyone's guess. I feel if they continue with the high rack rate, they will probably continue with the codes. Alot depends upon the economy. Maybe others have differing opinion.

We have been going to Disney every year in the summer for the last 15 years. For some reason I have been getting a discount on our rooms pretty much every year. In the beginning it was only the MKC discount. I wised up thru the years and have been fortunate in securing a discount every year for the last 12. I think that if the economy continues doing poorly and I hope it doesn't we will see discounts but when thing improve they will be harder to nab. It will take some work but I am sure they will be out there. :smooth:

And as long as this board exists; there will be people like us sharing discount codes, where ever we find them.
Whether Disney continues to issue codes is a question that only Disney can answer. But, as long as Mary (Bless her soul! She saved me over a thousand!) is willing to do the work on Mousesavers (http://www.mousesavers.com) , there will be a place where we can all benefit. If Mary tires of this chore, I will do my best to seek and announce any discount strategies I know of. And I'm sure that most readers on this board will do the same.
We all love Disney, almost as much as we love our money.:D

It may be that a lot of people who aren't annual visitors decided to go last year, during the Millennium...perhaps they are trying to lure those customers back.

Hi all.. I am a certified Disney fanatic and surf these boards often but I have never heard of codes before.
Can someone tell me where you hear of them, what hotels they are for, and anything else? I want to stay at the
WL again but my husband keeps saying I can only do it when it costs the same as the All Stars... Help! :)

The discounts people are referring to are by using "codes" printed in advertisements that WD posts nationwide and abroad (in magazines and newspapers usually) to lure people to their parks. You call Central Reservations and tell them you'd like to book a room and then say, "The ad told me to mention code _____."
A place where these codes are gathered and published is www.mousesavers.com
Good luck!!!
