As a newbie to the world of DSLR photography, I'm quickly becoming anxious to build a lens collection. While I know it's entirely based on personal taste, I thought it might be fun to ask the question: What's YOUR favorite lens to use? Whether you prefer telephoto, wide angle, or macro shots, it's all good- just your favorite lens to use in your own photography collection. Feel free to post pics from your favorites too- I'd love to see them. Thanks for all the inspiration! :goodvibes

Sigma 18-250mm OS.
It very rarely leaves the camera right now.

(This is where I will very shamelessly plug my trip report)

There's plenty of pictures in my TR (there's a link in my signature) and all taken with that lens. I have some favorites in there already but still more to come ;)

Without question- 28mm f/1.4

My favorite lens is the Nikon 35mm f/1.8. It is the lens I use 95% of the time. Now if I had an UWA lens in my collection the 35mm may be bumped off the top.

135L 2.0

It tends to be a little more situational, but it never lets me down with consistently beautiful pictures.

An old 28-105. I know what I'm going to get in any situation when I put it on.

Still love my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 the most. I've owned it for two brands.

28-70 2.8L, but I just picked up a 10-22 and have been using that exclusively

Currently I would have to say my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro. Very versatile lens and it's been on my camera for the majority of the photos I've taken for my 365 project so far. I'm also a big fan of the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, which I need to start using more!

Hmmm, either the Nikon 16-85 or Nikon 10-24.

Probably the latter.

Canon 17-55 f/2.8. Everything they say about it absolutely true.

The one I'm lusting for:
Nikon 18-200 VRII

Only 3+" in length it will become my walking around lens. Now if only it didn't cost more than the body.

I'm hoping someday this will be my favorite. I spent months going back and forth between it or the D700.

My favorite is my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. It's consistently sharp and renders beautiful color and contrast.:lovestruc

I'm tied between my Sigma 30/1.4 like Code and my Nikon 85/1.8. I've had the Sigma for longer and have definitely used it much much more. It's got great creamy bokeh, I love that it goes down to f/1.4 for the dark rides in WDW and I think the color/contrast it produces are great.

The Nikon 85/1.8 is working its way up there though. Not as versatile for indoor shooting, but outdoors if I have enough room to work, it's a real winner.

Right now it would be my Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8. Very sharp and hasn't failed me yet. :)

I'm super new to the dslr world - in fact my camera is exactly one week old today :) but I just got the 55-250 and I'm really enjoying it! I've mostly been photographing our pets which gives me lots of opportunities and this lets me get great photos without disturbing them and ruining the shot! As I mentioned I'm a total newbie but this one has been fun for me the past few days!

My Nikon 18-200 VRII is my favorite lens and is rarely off the camera. My second favorite is my Nikon 35 f/1.8. I never leave the house without both of them in my bag.

Right now the lens that is on my camera most of the time is my Sigma 28-70 f2.8. Followed by the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM II. Because I shoot some sports the 70-200 gets a lot of use. I have even been known to use two bodies and those are the lenses that will be in use. I also have a lens that I look to use because it is a very tack sharp lens and that is the Sigma 100-300 f4. I just struggle to find uses for it. When I bought it, I thought I would use that one the most and unfortunately the 70-200 is my most used long lens.

Lately I've been haveing a blast with my Pentax DA 12-24mm it pretty much took residence on my Kx a few weeks ago on our cruise

But I do love my old Super Takumar 135mm f2.5! Took it to our winter scout camp over the weekend and loved the results I got from it!

My current favorite is my Pentax DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro Ltd. Great 1:1 macro but also excellent for non-macro shooting. Small and light, too.
