Okay hubby and I just found out I am preggo with baby # 3!

I have been blessed with 24 hour a day morning sickness and now, on top of that I have a cold :-(

My question is.... if we cancel now.... (3 days out) do I loose all my points or do they go into holding?

I hate to cancel, and I suppose If I have to be sick, better to be sick at WDW than at home! LOL At least the girls are not coming with us, so if I am in bed the whole time I wont have to worry about them.... but still I hate to waste points if all I am going to do is throw up and cough......

So.......... do I loose my points or what......??

Thanks

Back to bed :-(

I think the points go into holding. I take it you didn't get the travel insurance?

Your points go into holding - but you better decide fast because you have to cancel the day before your arrival.

Cancelling a Disney Vacation Club resort reservation

1-30 days prior to arrival : All of the vacation points used to make the reservation will be placed in your Holding Account in the appropriate use year

On the arrival date : All of the vacation points used to make the reservation will be Forfeited

Holding Account Points cannot be banked or borrowed and these points will expire (Be Lost) if not used by the end of your use year.

You have multiple trips planned I see, depending on your points uses year (the ones used for the trip your considering cancelling) I would try "juggle" points between the trips to use the ones going into the holding account. Sounds tricky, but there are several ways to try.

Ex. - Use your farthest trip and call to see if there are several or more identical rooms that you have reserved, if there is, you can cancel THAT trip (Trip points cancelled 31+ days in advance will be restored to your normal account) Then use your "Holding Account Points from the trip in 3 days (assuming you canceled) for this "Re-reservation" - Hopefully using all the "Holding Account Points"

I hope you get the idea, there are too many variables for me to give you a direct answer when I dont know all your Accounts/Points/Room Reservations/ete.

Just go over the guide book "Holding Account" several times with your info in front of you and you will figure something out - Just dont wait till the day of arrival and lose them points!

Laura,

Congratualations!!!!

The morning sick will pass. I get VERY VERY sick when I am pregnant. I had IV on for months, was getting in and out of hospitals and emergency rooms, and could not even get out of bed. My doctor even told me that I should no longer have any more children because of my condition. The neasea is horrible, I thought that I will never forget how bad it was, but now I look at my 14-month-old, I could not remember the bad days that I had.

Cheer up!!! It is exciting after this terrible time passes. I wish I could have another one, but.....

Good luck with your decision. Can you get on the plane and sit through the flight?

Christine

CONGRATULATIONS!! But sorry you're sick :( As long as you cancel today or maybe tomorrow your points go into holding... ask MS to try to change your reservations so that you use those holding points before your current points (and of course make sure you can bank those current points)...

Good luck!

Thanks everyone on the Congrats and well wishes.....

I told DH tht we wouldnt loose the points if we were to cancel, but then he piped in with.... Well I still want to go, so we can have our alone time.... which, after this baby is born, will be in very short supply! LOL Cant argue with that! So looks like we are going.

Plus, after last night, with both the girls not wanting to go to sleep, and momma feeling oh so quesy, it will be nice to just worry about me, sleeping in, and most important, throwing up when I want too......... I refuse to do so in front of the girls.... and that makes for an even yuckier time for mama! (sorry for the gross factor)

I am bummed about not being able to partake in the spirits at Jellyrolls, and drinking our way around the world..........gag.......... but ce la vie....

??????? we have eatten in CHina before but didnt really care for it, but the one thing that seems to stay down is Egg Drop Soup.... do they have it there??? How about Potstickers with a ginger sause.... that helps with the nausa....

Thanks again!

Laura- Congratulations and glad to hear you will be able to still make your trip. You may want to call your doctor pronto and get a prescription for some anti-nausea suppositories to take with you just in case. Better to be safe than sorry. Also, get some ginger capsules or some crystal ginger from a local health food store. Also, "seabands" may help. I think they do serve egg-drop soup at the counter service at the China pavillion. According to Deb Will's site they did as of 12/01. We were there just 2 weeks ago and I believe it was still there, china is my fav. place to eat. Also at the Poly they do serve pot stickers with ginger sauce. Good luck and have a wonderful trip.

Laurabearz, is this your long awaited "trip report" from the Plaza stay?;) ;)

Congrats, and {{{{HUGS}}}} I hope that you're feeling better soon. I had the same problem with my third. It was so bad that my doctor gently suggested that we consider whether we wanted the baby or not.:(

Welcome to the world of 2 bedroom villas!!! Take it easy, enjoy your soup, pack some saltines, and have as good a time as you can.:) :) :)

Congrats and enjoy the trip. Sorry you aren't feeling well. I just found out my wife is expecting next May and is fortunately feeling pretty good. This will be our second. Looks like her visions of Rock n' Roller Coaster and Jellyrolls for late October are just that visions.

Have a safe trip and I hope your morning sickness improves. I recall my wife's first pregnancy and the morning sickness sure wasn't pretty.

Good luck and Best wishes.

Gee you guys and gals are so wonderful....

msdis... thanks so much for checking Deb's site. Lets hope the EDS is still served.
anti-nausea suppositories :earseek: My morning sickness is bad.... but I think I will try just about everything else before those! ROFL

dvcreg....... Baby was already made by our trip to NYC, we just didnt know it yet.... I guess that explains my inability to drink a lot while there......
AND I do have 99% of day ONE wrtten, but it is pages long..... Too long to post really.....

As for 2 bedroom villas.... We were hooked on those even before it became mandatory for us! LOL Nothing like tucking the kiddos in bed, and still having the Living room AND master bedroom to ourselves. But do you think we need another add on just in case?? (we already own 870 points! ROFLMBO) Maybe an even 1000.... I keep eyeing a 130 point add on for VB. OF course needing a 2 bedroom 130 points wont go that far..... hmmmm maybe 230 points..... HA HA HA NOT

nisiemouse........... our first night is at IOA/US RPH, coz DH and I thought this would be a great time to go there and hit all the big coasters...... http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/crying.gif not going to happen this trip.... I guess we will do MIB 157 times instead!
Then we move to BWV one bedroom..... I am really siked about that...... http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/wiggle2.gif

Thanks again.... everyone for all your support.... you are all the best!

Laurabearz,

Congratulations on your wonderful news!! Glad to hear you won't have to cancel your trip. Hoping you'll feel a lot better once you get to WDW! Maybe I'll see you there - I'll be on the lookout for your lime green ribbon, though I hope you won't be"green", too. Have a wonderful time, and congratulations again!

Congratulations! Exactly two years ago this month we had to cancel a WDW trip because of my morning sickness with #3!!! (We weren't DVC members then, so we didn't lose anything). Just try to take it slow and have a good time and you may want to try pink lemonade...my mid-wife suggested it and it seemed to work a bit anyway.;)

Best wishes Laura! Hope you feel better soon!
Just wanted to tell you that last time we went (BWV) I was sick as a dog too. It started the day before we left and we didn't really know how on earth we were going to go but we did. Anyway, all the CM were so wonderful. When we got there I'm sure I was green and all I wanted was to lay down. DH just mentioned with a little sad face that I wasn't feeling well (I think because I was not my usual happy friendly self and he wanted to explain my not so chipper attitude) and the CM got us into a room right away which was about 9:30 AM. (We had planned to do the pool or parks.) She was so nice and said she was sorry it wasn't the view we had hoped for but we didn't care. I was so impressed that she took the time to go out of her way without us asking. Then everywhere we ate (well, everywhere DH ate) all the CMs were so good about trying to find something that would appeal to me and stay down. I still can't get over how much everyone went out of their way. So if you need something, just ask. If you need help, let them know. I found on that trip that so many people just want to help and they will do anything they can to make you comfortable.
Also, on that trip I wasn't able to do any parks but it was nice just sleeping late, having the jacuzzi tub, sitting on the balcony sipping ginger ale. Like you said, if you have to be sick, might as well be sick in WDW! Enoy your trip and your baby-to-be!

But think about it, isn't morning sickness at WDW better than morning sickness at home?

Laurabearz,
Congratulations! We too are expecting our third in March. Go and have the best time you can. At least you won't have to worry about the girls. I wouldn't be sick in front of my girls either, because I didn't want to tell them until a few months into the pregnancy. My six year old wanted to know why I was in the bathroom all the time?? If it's any help, I actually have not been as sick with this one as I was with the 2nd. I'll hope the same for you. Let us know how your trip turns our. Best of luck! Erin

Erin.... we are trying to figure out when we are going to tell the girls.... Madeline is 3 (will turn 4 on this baby's due date) and I dont think she can grasp the whole 9 month thing..... I thinking about waiting until I am 8 months along to share the news! LOL Even then we would her Is it here yet.... a zillion times!

Thanks for letting me know I am not alone!

Oh and I feel a bit better today, but mornings are my best time.... So I am off to the store to buy food..... gotta run to the bank..... do a couple of loads of laundry.... and pack! UGH for some reason I dont feel as good anymore! LOL

Hey Laurabearz,

You'll want to tell your oldest in plenty of time. She'll notice that you "look" different & she might get scared something is wrong (when in fact quite the opposite is true) When my son was a little over three he totally understood, he was a great big brother during that time :jester:

On an interesting note, I read in one of my parenting books that one mom took a picture of herself & cut a flap in the belly, so that when her young one opened up the "flap" they'd see there was actually a baby in there... I thought that was kind of an interesting thing t do... Whatever you do, have a great trip!!

I really like that idea!

As for Madeline noticing... I doubt it... I already look 5 months preggo (I have lost over 60 lbs since Juju was born, but still have 20 to go.... so much for that! LOL) But your right, we will have to tell her sooner.... she is a smart one, and better us telling her than her overhearing it!
