Hi everyone!
We cruised on the Wonder a month ago and enjoyed it so much that we booked the 7-day Western cruise on the Magic this week-end. We will be cruising the first week of March (2003).

This brings me to my silly question, but I need to ask anyway! What if one of us has a ear infection, for instance. It's not like we go around carrying antibiotics. Do they have some on board?
Thanks!

There is a fully equipped health center on board on deck one. They are equipped to handle everything from minor cuts to ear infections to life threatening emergencies. They have sea-sickness medications, antibiotics, stitches, and life support equipment. There are even AED's (Automatic External Defibrillators) located throughout the ship. Have fun on your cruise and don't worry about the medical facilities. They are there if you need them.

I've been to the health center on two different cruises and they most definitely have basic antibiotics onboard, certainly plenty to take care of an ear infection. It's a very good medical center and the staff is wonderful.

Just got back from the 9/5 cruise. Our 4 yr. old daughter came down with an infection on the first day of the cruise. We took her to the medical center. They put her on Augmentinum antibiotic. They had a good supply on board. I also saw a good stash of Zithromax and other medicines. Fortunately it kicked in quickly for her, and she enjoyed the rest of the cruise.
The medical staff was very nice, and she got a bravery button with Mickey and Minney on it.

The medical staff is excellent! My daughter was having ear surgery 2 days after we returned from our 7 days on the Magic in Jan 2002. She came down with some symptoms of an ear infection, the doctors called her ENT in Pennsylvania and worked out what exactly would work for her!

I just got off the magic on Saturday and my 3 year old just happened to get an ear infection while onboard (odd because she had tubes put in 6 months ago and had no problems since then until we were on the cruise)...anyway...they do have antibiotics, just be sure to get the info you will need to file with your insurance when you get home as it is not cheap. It cost $175.00 to see the dr for about 3 minutes and get the antibiotics. Good luck and have a blast!!!
