Well I've decided that perhaps I will give this Trip Report a go!!:goodvibes
So bear with me as I figure this all out!
I'm trying to adjust font size and color and to add photos but it will be a learning process as I go!

First off, let me introduce the gang. I am Debbie, DH is René. We have 4 adult children ranging in age from 18 to 24. We have 3 boys and 1 daughter.
Eldest son just got married in September /10.
On this trip, DD 23 (Chloé) and DS 18 (Jamie) will be joining us. :thumbsup2
Edest son (Jesse) plans to do his own thing for his honeymoon and middle son (Ben) would rather do his own travelling. He climbed the real Mt. Kilimonjaro this past summer in Africa and when we invited him to do Kilimonjaro with us in Disney world just after Christmas, he gratefully declined!! hmph.... the nerve of him! :confused3
Well, that leaves the 4 of us!

We leave for our adventure on December 26th at 3 pm. DS Ben drives us to the airport.

I'm going to try to insert a photo of the gang here. So cross your fingers for me!http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010233.jpg

Woo Hoo!! The photo Worked!!! :thumbsup2

OK !! Well that will make things for fun!!!
Now I'll have to go put more photos on Photo Bucket so we can get this TR going!!! :woohoo:

In the meantime, just picture us leaving the cold to get to Orlando where it's um .... Cold???!!!
At least there won't be snow!!!
So we settle in on our flight to Toronto where we will be switching planes!

Oh... but just a little history first.
We started to plan this trip in October 2009 so it's been a long wait and let me tell you... I have been preparing and doing my homework for a long time.
I spent all my holidays sitting on the beach last summer with Disney books in hand and I've read everything and anything about Disney I could get my hands on. DH and I went on a cruise after this trip on Jan 1st and through the cruise site I met some other Disney Fanatics who gave me lots of advice about this trip and guided me to this site as well as some other sites. :yay:

So... just wanted everyone to know how much time and work and prep I've put into this trip. I also used the ridemax site and prepared some really good itineraries for our trip since I knew we'd be there at the most busy time of the year and I did not plan to spend time waiting in lines!!!
My TA has been teasing me that I should be the TA!!!

Anyway, moving on!!

We are on our way to Toronto via Westjet enjoying the flight and dreaming of Disney!!
We get to Toronto and YIKES!! We barely have enough time to make the connecting flight and this is where trouble begins!!!
So stay tuned because I need more than a few minutes to write about this next part!!! :scared1:

Well I see I'm already having troubles with this photobucket thing. It would only post the one photo so I'm not sure what I did wrong.
I think if you click on the link you'll see the photos though!!

Anyway..... enough of that. Let's get this story going so we can get past the bad part and move on to Disney!!!
Do I sound like I'm procastinating?:confused3 Actually, I'm not sure I'm ready to relive this yet!! :sad2: But anyhow..... here goes!

I left off when we were on our way to Toronto. It was an uneventful flight an everyone was relaxed.
We get to Toronto and we don't have lot of time between flights and it didn't help that our flight arrived a bit late as well. So we follow the crowd to the luggage carousel and while we wait for our luggage we are frantically trying to find the customs form and get that filled out. All of our luggage comes off the rack and you saw how much we had!! There are no luggage carts around so we have to just make do. At this time, DD is starting to complain that she's not feeling well and we are worried that maybe she is feeling dehydrated and hungry since we left home at 3:30 pm and it is now 7:40 pm
and she never ate anything since we left home at about noon that day.

However.... we manage to get our luggage over to the customs area. The customs officer that we had was just plain rude. I had missed a couple things on my form and he circled them in big red ink and yelled at me that I missed things. He treated me like this was a high school quiz that I was failing and it's not a form that we are familiar with. Anyway, once that was out of the way we gave him our passports. Well, just before this I realized I hadn't got DS to sign his passport (This is the first time using it) and he quickly signed it.
The Customs officer then shows DS's Passport to DD and asks her if she thinks the signatures match. Well what's she going to say? She says "yeah, I guess so!" and then the CO shows me and asks me if they match and I just said "Jamie, what did you do? You can't just scrawl your name like that"
What was I going to say? They didn't match... so I acted like mad mom.
But this CO was sounding like he wasn't going to let us through. He lectured DS about how does he know who he says he is etc... etc... (which was probably not a bad thing for son to hear)
So then I told DS to show him his drivers license and I proceeded to explain that he's a stupid 18 yr old kid that doesn't ever sign his name on anything as he doesn't have credit cards and everything at school is done on computer and he doesn't really have a signature.
CO finally relented and told DS to get a signature and stick with it.
So there.... we finally get through customs and and the plane is already boarding so at this time we are quickly getting to the conveyer belt to put the luggage down. I purposely put my carryon further away beside DD's carry on and I was struggling with a strap on my big carry on. As I was done, I turned around and said "Where's my carry -on" and quickly turned my head to see it go through the flaps on the converyer belt!! :scared1::scared1:
I yelled "stop" - my carry on's going through. I would have thought they had a button to press because I could have reached through and grabbed it!

OMG!!!! My husband accidently put my carry on on the checked luggage.
I panicked!!! EVERYTHING!!!!! AND I MEAN EVERYTHING of importance of our trip is in that bag. The hotel documents, the travel documents, the cruise documents and luggage tags, all my RIDEMAX PLANS that I had made in triplicate. the Magic Express Bus Tickets, and most importantly, the theme park tickets.
The luggage guy said radioed down to see if they could retrieve the luggage but that was useless.
At this time... the family continued on to get on the flight as it was now about 7;55 pm and the flight leaves at 8:15 pm.
And I go out and around into the main terminal again back to the luggage carosel to see if the guy sent it back up.
BTW.... never just trust these luggage guys.. they haven't got a clue what's going on.
So as I'm standing at the carosel waiting and it appears that the guy is radioing back and forth with someone about my luggage it's going on ten after 8 and I ask him if my plane will wait when it's supposed to leave in 5 minutes.
So at this point, I just decide to go over to the West Jet counter.
Thank goodness I did that.
When I get there, this one west jet guy immediately asks if i'm Debbie and that the plane is waiting for me. He radios the plane to tell them he has me and is sending me down. He quickly explained the situation that luggage that is not tagged as checked in will go to dead luggage office and it will take him 3 hours to find my luggage and will do everything in his power to find it and get it on the next flight to orlando in the morning.
All I can do is trust him. And he also said I could have the family taken off the flight or get on which would be cheaper for us and probably wiser so I agreed.
He then helped me fill the customs form again for me and escorted me through. When I got to customs again.. I had a lady who nastily said" Where's your luggage mam?" and i was flabbergasted and asked the west jet attendant if he could help me explain and she replied "No, Mam... how about you tell me where your luggage is?" so I quickly went through the whole story and she looked at the WJ escort and asked if I was with him and he said Yes and she said "Just Go"
Then through security and they made me take my shoes off this time and spent time examining my toothpaste in my liquids bag.
I made sure the west jet guy knew my luggage was bright fuschia pink and he said that would be really helpful and that if you just unzip the front pouch then, all my info would be there. He assured me he would do his best.
He then told me my gate was the last gate and they were waiting and i should RUN! I felt like I was on the amazing race.
Finally, I get there, get on the plane apologize to the flight crew and slide into my seat by the window.
I can see my family staring me down and I couldn't even look at any of them I was so mad.
My husband then dares to ask me "where's the luggage" and I respond with
"they don't know" and "I can't talk about this right now" and for him to not talk to me or I knew I'd lose it.
He's about to tell me he didn't do it on purpose and the thing is.. I know that
so it's best if they all just let me "decompress"
As soon as we are in the air DD heads to the bathroom because she is still not feeling well. Once back in her seat.... this is not good :sad1:
She's going for the barf bag. DH got the attention of the steward and they brought her more garbage bags. We were all in the same row with the kids having window and middle seat and me and DH with window and middle seat on the other side. So DH asks the guy on the isle seat with the kids if he'd like to trade seats. So there were the 3 of my family on the other side with DD throwing up for 2 and a half hours to Orlando and me "stewing" over on the other side staring out the window!!

OH... this is going to be such a happy trip!!!

I'll let you know how it all turns out next installment!

Oh... and one more thing. Before the flight lifted off I was able to send son at home Ben at quick text message saying Dad accidently put my carry on on the checked luggage and I need you to go on computer to my Disney file and send me anything and everything of importance especially the name of the hotel we were staying at that night (as we were just staying at an airport hotel and were planning to return to the airport on the hotel shuttle in the morning to catch the
Disney ME Buss)
Ben is not a stupid kid and immediately he understood that that meant I didn't have any of my documents and luckily DD brought her laptop.
so now we just wait to get to Orlando!

Be Back Soon

Debbie

Well continuing on:

After a LONG (or so it felt) flight to Orlando, we finally arrive.
We are the last ones off the plane as DD has taken up residence in the airplane bathroom.
During this time, I explain to the flight attendant what happened to my carry on luggage and she tells me that she is really confident West Jet will find it and we'll get it tomorrow.

In the meantime, as soon I put my phone back on, Ben has already been texting..
He found the info about the hotel and as soon as we got off the plane and got our luggage and I talked to the luggage department at West Jet in Orlando
we phoned for the shuttle to come and get us.

At least... the plan was to stay near the airport and go back to the airport in the morning for the MagicExpress Bus so now it meant we weren't going back as early as we wanted but at least the plan was to go back to airport so we weren't put out that badly. It's not like we were going to go all the way to disney and then have to go back to airport next day.

It felt like we waited forever for the shuttle to come get us and during this time I was telling some lady working at one of the shuttle booths outside what had happened. At one point one of the kids made a comment to me asking if I have to tell everyone what happened and all I said was that I needed to vent to someone and I couldn't talk to you guys or I'll lose it.

So... we get to the hotel and thankfully discover that there is free wi-fi and free printing. Ben at home had emailed all my documents and even sent me a bunch of ridemax plans (I had so many different itineraries on the computer back home) He also phoned the west jet office in Toronto to make sure someone was looking for the luggage.
Jamie was going down to the front desk computer to retrieve all the printed material and by 2;30 am I had duplicate copies of everything except of course our theme park tickets.
Ben phoned disney and they told him that the Magic Express tickets wouldn't be a problem and they would let us on the bus. They also told him that we could go to the conceirge desk and possibly they may be able to do something about the lost theme park tickets but no promises. and that I should have photocopies the back bar codes which I did, but they were still together in the carry on!!
Finally, fell asleep after 2;30 am. DH was already sleeping. I think he knew he just needed to stay quiet. I knew he felt bad. He apologized to everyone and promised he would rebuy the theme park tickets if need be.

I woke just after 6 am and was calling the number in Toronto that Ben had found for me and by about 10 am Ben texted to tell me that he was in contact with someone in Toronto and the person said they found the luggage and recalled someone putting pink luggage on the 9 am flight bound for Orlando and he even got a claim number and it would arrive by 12;30 pm.
What relief! but it still wasn't in my hot little hands!

So instead of going to the airport early to get the MEB, it meant we just relaxed til noon and DD really needed to sleep after being sick all the way there. (It was a 24 hour bug that cleaned you out and then made you weak and you needed to sleep)

We arrived back at the airport at 12:15 pm. I let West Jet know I was there and me and DS parked ourselves in front of the luggage carousel. Meanwhile DS at home is texting wanting to know what was going on.:rolleyes1

This was worse than any suspense movie. He also texted and warned me not to get worried if it didn't come out right away as it was probably put on last!
Good Thinking!!!

And then the luggage track stopped and we waited some more. Finally, it got moving again and I was getting a little nervous as I saw some pink luggage and it wasn't mine. And then there were less and less people!!!

BUT FINALLY, SUCCESS!!!!!!!!! IT CAME THROUGH!!!! :worship:

I quickly went over to the west jet luggage office and told them it came and at this point I started to cry. I was so relieved.

So now with this nightmare out of the way... Ben texts from home and says you need a drink now and go have fun in Disney!!!

So next up:::: Catching the magic express bus!!!

Here's us at the airport waiting for the shuttle

Our first plan of the day was to get to Dis early and then go to The Coral Reef for ADR for 1:30 but since we didn't arrive at Pop Century til 1;30 we missed this ADR but the good news was that our room was ready and we just went for lunch at the hotel and took time to roam around and take photos before heading out to Epcot for the evening.

So after we are settled we head over to Epcot for Day 1 in the park.
We arrive before 6 pm and we have a 7 pm ADR at San Angel Inn
First thing we do is get a fast pass for Soarin and then make our way over to world showcase for dinner.
We check in and she says there will be a 15 minute wait and so we head over to the 3 caliberos ride and it's a walk on... so this will be our first ride at Disney.
Nice start to the evening.

We enjoyed a few appetizers and drinks and just took a slow start to the evening.
After dinner, we walked over to Norway and immediately rode on "maelstrom"
From there, we went over to "the land" and we rode "Soarin" This was just amazing and we even got the front row of section "B1" !
After Soarin we walked on to Living with the Land Boatride.
I was wondering where all the lines were as this is Dec. 27 and I've been warned it's going to be so crowded but, hey, I wasn't complaining.
We then wondered around a few stores and decided to call it an early night as we had such a rough start to the day.
We headed back to our hotel around 9:30 pm and hit the sack early as tomorrow was going to be a big day!
EMH hours started at 7 am at the Magic Kingdom.
So now with my Ridemax Plans in tow... we were setting our wake up call for
5:30 am.

Stay tuned for DAY 2 - The Magic Kingdom

ya... I couldn't believe it. All I could think of was all the time I spent making all these itineraries and now I don't even have them!!

DAY 2 - DEC. 28 MAGIC KINGDOM

There were EMH hours this day at Magic Kingdom so we set the alarm for Mickey to wake us at 5;30 am.

DS and DD grumbled about this and I said they don't have to come if they don't want to but I'm following my plan and my plan does not include waiting in line for more than 20 minutes for anything!!!

So off we go into the dark morning and arrived at MK. It was freezing out so it's a good thing we brought warm jackets and mittens from home. It was below freezing that morning.

We watched the train come in and Mickey and the gang arrive and watched their morning show. This was worth waking up at 5:30 am for!!
http://http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0247.jpg

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0839.jpg

As soon as rope dropped, I warned the gang.... we are on our way and we will come back later to take photos and "smell the roses"!!
We did stop for a few photopass pictures on the way (however I don't have them yet) over to Tomorrowland.
The first thing we did was get a fast pass for Space Mountain.

Then we rode the Tomorrowland Speedway. This was pretty funny as the seats were all frosted and it was a pretty slow ride and we were the only ones on it. We had a good laugh and so it was a fun first ride.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0253.jpg

After that, we went over to the Mad Tea Party and again, we rode all by ourselves. DD is saying "what's the point? - this would be more fun with other people!!" But it was so much fun flying around the teacups and the CM running the ride told us we could ride again! So what the heck... sure, we'll stay on for another spin! Again, it was so cold and the tea cups were frosted!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0255.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0258.jpg

After we got off the tea cups we met "Mary Poppins" !

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0261.jpg

By now, it's just about 7;30 am and we head over to Winnie the Pooh and as we just walk on this ride DD is again grumbling that we are missing all the stuff in line - I told her she can come back later and stand in line by herself and take it all in! (remember.. she's 23 yrs old!! ) lol
And of course, as every ride ends in it's store... she wants to shop!!! I have to drag her away everytime telling her she can either shop now or stick with the plan with the rest of us and come back to shop later!!
She drags her heels... but stays with us!

We then walk on to the next series of rides:
Snow White's scary adventure:
Peter Pan's Flight:

It's a small world:

Alladin's Magic Carpets (with the frost once again - it was so cold!)

It was time for another fastpass so DS went to get FP's for splash mountain and he couldn't figure it out when more fastpasses came out! I've heard of this kind of Pixie Dust happening and we got fastpasses for the Carosel of Progress. This ride wasn't necessarily on our plan so that worked out great!

Then we did the Tiki Room under new Management;

and on to the Country Bear Jamboree:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0857.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0859.jpg

and the Haunted Mansion:

After that, it was time to use our FP's for space mountain

and the carosel of progress.

Can you believe we've done all of this with a bathroom break by 10:45 am?
Time for coffee and a snack in adventureland and take a photo with Donald Duck! (DD got to smell some roses during this time)
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0289.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0288.jpg

We grabbed 4 more FP's for space mountain to use later in the day and then found a spot for the Dream along with Micky Show to start at 11:30 am
After that we watched the Christmas Parade (again, this made DD happy to stand and just observe and take it all in) (i'll insert photos with next installment)
After the parade at about noon, the park was crazy busy! DD announces that now is the fun time to be here in the crowd!! I thought she was crazy!!
We told her if she'd like to stay she could, but we were going for a break!!

She once again came with us and we took the monorail over to the GF to check out the hotel and the decorations and the Gingerbread house.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0335.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0872.jpg

After that, it was back to Pop Century for some lunch and a shower and a nap. We had a big evening coming up back at MK and ADR's at CRT for dinner!!

Next installment I'll post a few photos I missed putting up here.

You did more by 11:00 in the morning than some people do all day. We always do the early EMH's. You just proved how much you can accomplish while everyone is still sleeping. I have two teenagers who like to sleep in but they know when we are at Disney we are at all the parks by rope drop. They really don't complain because they appreciate the little to no lines. What time did the Magic Kingdom open that you had to wake at 5:30?

MK opened at 7 am. We used Ridemax.com for plans and we were at our bus stop at 6 am and arrived at MK about 6:45 am.

We are so glad we did this. It was nice to do the parks without the crowds!

By this time... it's about 1:00 pm and we've gone back to our room and had some lunch at the food court. It's time for a nap and a shower to get ready for our ADR's at Cinderella's castle at 6 pm.

At about 2 pm DS announces "Mom.... I don't think I'm feeling well, but I think it might be something I ate!" as he runs to the bathroom!
OH NO!!!!
Stay tuned to see if we make our ADR!!!

Hey Deb! Just found your Trip report and am loving the pics. I CAN NOT WAIT to go back! :cool1:

I read all about your trip down to FL with customs and the bag and everything with my jaw sitting in my lap. Poor things! We have been there, done that, and planning around it happening again.

Now with the kids sick, this is looking like my luck 100%

I hope you guys still had a great time and can't wait for the next installment. :thumbsup2

Thanks for stopping by!! I was afraid I'd bored everyone with my long "intro"
but I think it was therapeutic for me to write about it and just get it out so I can forget about it!
You never know what will happen when travelling and how do you be prepared for everything that may happen? I guess you do your best and then you have to go with it. I had sent myself a quote to my trip file because I didn't know where to store it and DS at home sent it to me at the time.
It said " LIFE IS WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE, IT'S HOW WE DEAL WITH IT THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE" - I sure needed to hear that then.

I just made that my status of Facebook :)

One thing that really made a difference for me this year was my first Smartphone. I love having the internet in my pocket. I emailed myself EVERY piece of information I could possibly need before we left and saved it all in my Disney Folder. I also saved it on my laptop, kept the itinerary and plane tickets in my bag and a copy in Tina's. I'm an idiot most of the time and redundancy has saved my butt several times so far:lmao:

Well we left off as Jamie was starting to feel sick.
So we figured we would just take it as it comes and see how he feels.
He had all afternoon to "be sick" and take it easy.
So for the next 3 or 4 hours he spent it going back and forth to the bathroom. :sad1:

We knew we needed to leave the hotel by 5 to make it for our ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table and by then he announced that he felt better and wanted to come but probably wouldn't eat anything.
Now, if we were at home and just going out for any ole dinner we would have cancelled, BUT this is CRT and we'd already paid for it.

So with plastic garbage bags in tow... we head for the bus.
We are almost at MK and so far.. so good. but just as we pull in and people are getting off the bus he's not looking so good again. My DH shielded him as he "you know what" in the bag! At least we were stopped and people were getting off the bus so he didn't cause a scene or gross anyone out.

From there, we just slowly made our way to the castle stopping along the way so he could rest.

This was a really nasty bug. Just 24 hours... cleans you out, makes you weak, you need to sleep and then you're good to go again!!
So he was now at the weak needing to sleep point.

We checked in for dinner and he could barely stand. Just sat on the bench.
When it was time to take photos with Cinderella he just couldn't do it.

We asked for a table closest to the bathroom (for obvious reasons) so that kind of sucked but it's what we needed to do.

He spent dinner with his head on the table! Poor kid and did a couple trips to the bathroom. Our server was excellent and we ordered sick son's dinner to go (since it was already paid for)

Waiting to go into the Castle ( I know... I'm such a mean mom taking a photo of sick kid)
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0880.jpg

This is how he spent his time at the dinner table:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0888.jpg

In the meantime, the rest of us might as well have fun with our new magic wands! Maybe we can put cast a magic spell to make Jamie feel better! ;)
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0887.jpg
BTW.... He's going to kill me if he ever finds this TR on the DIS BOARDS!! :rotfl2:

Then dinner came out.
Chloe had the chicken pasta dish;
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0896.jpg

I had the prime rib:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0895.jpg

And Rene had the duck:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0343.jpg

And we spotted "Gus-Gus and Jaq" hiding in the upper corner spying on us!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0341.jpg

And then the Princesses came to visit! I think this was the hardest part for Jamie.... that he missed the visits with the princesses. But they all felt sorry for him and wished him well

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0898.jpg

So after dinner was over.. Jamie still wasn't doing too well and DH took him back downstairs and was going to take him back to hotel except that he couldn't even walk. The Castmates working at the front desk found them a wheel chair and DH took Jamie back to the bus and to the hotel and got him settled into bed and we made arrangements that we would meet back up with him when he got back to the park.
In the meantime, Chloe and I continued on with the plan for our evening in MK

Since we were ahead of time on our plan I told her we could go to all the little shops in Fantasy land now that she missed earlier in the day.
so we roamed around Snow White's store and Winnie the Pooh store and Peter Pan's store. She bought a couple "grumpy" t-shirts at snow white which was pretty appropriate!!

So for the rest of the evening Chloe and I roamed around until DH came back to join us.

We shopped a bit and then rode the Carosel and then we went to Mickey's Philharmagic! We loved that!

Then on to Minnie and Mickey's house and we rode the Barnstormer!
For 2 grown women getting on the barnstormer, it was probably more funny than lame. But it was fun and we laughed.

And we watched her cake rise too:

By this time... we got the text from DH that he was just about back at the park. Chloe and I took the Railroad to the front of the park to meet up with him in and get a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade!

I know.. I know.. it feels like this day goes on forever!! lol
I told you we got a lot done!

Thanks for joining in! Yes.... I highly recommend getting up for those EMH!
You can sleep later in the afternoon when the parks are crazy busy!! And then later in the evening when everyone takes the little ones back to put to bed you can enjoy the parks again!

And yes... thank goodness I got all my plans back!!! The ridemax plans worked out just great! I highly recommend the site! It was worth the 20 bucks!

So we left off with Chloe and I getting on the railroad to meet up with Rene:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0941.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0940.jpg
Once we met up with Rene we decided to Ride Buzz Light Year as there was no wait time;
I tried to manouever both controllers and had really bad scores with both!! http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0352.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0949.jpg

And if you think we haven't done enough today, well we decide to end it with the Wishes Fireworks!!! But... before we get our spot for wishes we realize that we still have 4 fastpasses to splash mountain and 5 fastpasses for Space Mountain!!
Since we'd already done space mountain and it was really Jamie that wanted to do it again we decided to find a nice unsuspecting family to give them to!!
So we went on a hunt!! We spotted what appeared to be Mom, Dad and 3 kids around the ages of 12 - 15 and asked if they'd like 5 fastpasses to Space
Mountain!! It was about 9;30 pm and the lines were crazy and the fastpasses were gone for the day!! Well... this family was so excited when they realized what we were offering! So that felt so good to "make" someone's day!
Then to try to give away the splash mountain tickets! That was another story as it was so cold tonight. Nobody wanted them!!!

We decided we needed to find a group of young teenagers that don't care about the cold!! SUCCESS!! We made another group happy!!

Then on to watch the Wishes Fireworks!! :grouphug:

Then we found a spot for the Wishes Fireworks and finished off the evening with the Main Street Electrical Parade:

There is no way to do the fireworks justice with a photo! They were just so awesome. That's all I can say.

So now we are going to call it a night!! And go see how poor Jamie is making out back at the hotel.

Here's a recap of everything we did on Day 2 at MK:

Mad Tea Party
Met Mary Poppins
Winnie the Pooh
Snow White's Scary Adventure
Peter Pan's Flight
It's a small World

Do you think my kids can keep up?

Debbie

DAY 3 - Dec 29/10 - Animal Kingdom in the morning

Today is another 7 am EMH hours and again we are planning on 2 parks today so we want to take adavantage of those early hours at AK.

I set the alarm for our 5:30 wake up call from Mickey and fall asleep promptly.

5:30 came real fast!! I got up and got myself ready!! (Those curtains separating the sink area from the rest of the room are just great at Pop Century as it lets the rest of the group still have darkness for sleeping while I was getting ready at the sink area)

Once me and DH were up and just about ready we tried to wake DS and DD.
They mumbled that they weren't coming!! :sad2:

DS still needed some more sleep and DD just wanted to sleep in and be more spontaneous today!! OKAY!! We said, but we're off and we'll see you later when we come back to hotel for our afternoon break!

So it was just DH and myself that headed out into the cool Florida morning heading for AK!

We arrived just before 7 am! (I've read on the dis boards that they do a little morning show.. but we didn't realize that and we never saw anything or heard anything)
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_1045.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_1046.jpg

First thing we did was head to EE for a fastpass.

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0976-1.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0986.jpg

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0411.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0403.jpg

Then we went to Kilimonjaro Safari's and they hadn't opened yet (because they said it was too cold) and Castmates were handing out fastpasses and asked us if we'd also like a fastpass for the LionKing Show. Of course we said yes!! So now with 3 sets of fastpasses, we went a different direction to enjoy our morning! :yay:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0994.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0993.jpg

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0412.jpg

We walked over to Dinosaur and rode that!! It was so much fun!
We felt like we were right in the movie "Jurrasic Park":

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0402.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0399.jpg

From there, we walked around DinoLand but we didn't feel the need to do any of the rides in there.
It was such a cold morning and the Castmates had great big heaters blowing heat on all the folliage all over the park!
We enjoyed walking around and taking in all the sights and checking out some of the stores. All with no crowds!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0405.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0415-1.jpg

We eventually wondered back to EE and rode that! We both enjoyed it!!
DH is not supposed to ride the intense rides since he had a heart attack a couple years ago, but he decided that since the sign says you shouldn't ride if blood pressure is high that he should be fine because his blood pressure is good.
He's glad he rode, and both of us found that our imagination of what the ride would be like is actually more intense than the actual ride.
After the ride, we landed up in the store!! And we found this little guy!
I had to take a photo as DD had rec'd it as a christmas gift from one of her brothers and had already named him "Henry" - so I had to take a photo and tell her I found Henry at Disney!

Our fast pass time for the Lion King show was for the 10 am show. It was now about 8:45 or 9:00 am so we went over to the tree of life and went to see "Its tough to be a bug"! This was DH's favorite show at all of WDW!! He especially loved the very ending!! (I'm not going to tell you what happens in case any readers are heading over there!!) But, I'll tell you, it's just fun.:

After Its tough to be a bug, we decided to get in line for the Lion King Show.
We couldn't wait to get inside since it was so cold! (And I hate saying that, especially now as I sit at home in Manitoba freezing my butt off in -30 Celcius weather!!):scared1:
At Lion King we were in the Lion Section so we made sure we roared really loud!

The lion king show was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.

From there, we headed back for the Kilimonjaro Safari as they were opened up now and we had our fastpasses.
We had a very entertaining tour driver and enjoyed seeing lots of animals out and about that morning:

I've got to stop for now as I've got clients arriving soon for haircuts!!
( I work out of my home and I have a salon in the basement! FYI) lol ;)

Hi Debbie,

Love your trip report! My mom, dad and I were in DW from 12/26 - 1/2, so I know how cold it was and how crazy the crowds were! However we also had a blast and I did alot of advance planning too! My parents really enjoyed relaxing and letting me do all the work! Looking forward to the rest of your report!

Day 3 - Part 2 - Afternoon at Disney Hollywood Studios

so when we arrive back at hotel Jamie is still in bed. (Remember he was sick?,
so it was good he took this time to sleep)

Chloe announced that she was feeling great and had a great morning. She
Slept in, had shower, went for breakfast, went for a walk/jog, read by the pool and was totally enjoying her holiday!! :cloud9:

We told Jamie we planned to leave for DHS in about 1 hour (1PM) and asked what he wanted to do.
He still needed to shower etc... and was feeling a bit tired still so he said he would meet up with us later.

We really wanted room service to be able to get in and clean the room and make beds etc... so we sent him to lie down outside by the pool and he would get some fresh air. The room steward was right outside and we asked her to completely change the bedding on his bed as he'd been sick since yesterday)
(Anything to keep this sickness from spreading.. and since I'm the only one who hasn't been sick yet... I was getting pretty anal about hand washing and
spraying lysol spray on everything! The last thing I needed was for me to get  !!!

So about 1 pm me, Rene and Chloé headed to DHS. Jamie would text us when he left so we could meet up with him.

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010002.jpg

We arrived at DHS about 1:30 pm and it was CROWDED!!! :scared1:

The Christmas tree at DHS:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene015.jpg

I think Chloe now realized the importance of getting to the park early at this point.
But, since we chose AK for our early morning, we didn't have much choice.
and DHS had extra hours later in the night tonight and didn't close til 1 am so we figured we'd just try to get as much done as we could.

There were no fastpasses left at all for TOT or RnRC so we just decided to do whatever had a short standby time.

First up was the Beauty and Beast Show as they were just starting to walk in.
Waiting for the show to start:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010012.jpg

After Beauty and the Beast Show Chloe found this guy:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene014.jpg
Chloe babysits sometimes for a couple little boys back home and was so excited to get Handy Manny's signature for them!

Then Rene found this:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010022.jpg

More of DHS to be continued:

I am so impressed at the amount of stuff you were able to get in at the Magic Kingdom your second day! :thumbsup2 I don't think I managed to do that much, and I'm sure it wasn't nearly as crowded when I went. I guess that's the perks of EMH, yeah? I've never tried doing one, as I can never make it to rope drop on a normal day.

Looking forward to hearing more about DHS. :)

Thanks for dropping by! Yes... you were there the same time as us! Thanks goodness it got warmer by the end of the week! Did you do any of the early hours? Did you stay right on disney property?
Where did you go for NYE? We were in Epcot and had such a fun time!
But you'll have to keep following along to find out what all we did in Epcot on NYE!

You live just 8 hours south of us!! I understand we'll be getting all spring waters this spring and we are bracing ourselves for flooding! :scared1:

Hi DevonsDisneyMom!!

Glad you joined me! Ya... we thought we would escape the cold too!! NOT!

It was still warmer than at home though.

Lucky you.... going back at the end of August! You'll love POP! Make sure you
take the time to roam around the resort and take photos!! We requested a room near transportation. We didn't face the pools but it was so nice to be near the busses first thing in the morning... especially when you forgot something like your camera or coffee mug and had to run back to your room before the bus came!

Good Morning!!!
Well, I left off as DH and DD were enjoying a smoked turkey leg in DHS.

We had just seen the beauty and the beast show. We wondered over to the Great Movie Ride and got in line for that.
During the wait Jamie texted to tell us he was on his way and we would meet up with him when we finished up on the GMR.

After doing the GMR we found Jamie waiting for us on a bench in Pixar Place. He was feeling much better and good to go! Now lets just hope I don't get sick!! :scared1:
and we saw that the Voyage of The Little Mermaid was going to start soon so we went over and saw that:

To be honest, if I was to go again, we would skip this attraction.
Just not really memorable at all.

Then on to Walt Disney one Man's Dream.

But sorry, I have to stop again! DS just called and needs me to go pick him up from work! Normally he walks but it's so cold out and I feel sorry for him.
so off I go!! :goodvibes

So carrying on at DHS!!! :)

We just finished up at Journey Into Narnia.
Jamie is feeling better and met up with us.

We are now going to head over to Prime Time Diner for our 5 pm ADR!
We had heard such good things about this restaurant and we're all up for an interactive dinner so we were looking forward to it.

We love the decor of this retro restaurant. We had a drink in the bar which is called the tune in lounge before we were called over for our table.

We had a great table in the middle of the restaurant with a little tv in the corner playing old tv shows from the 50's and 60's.

Our server put the dishes and napkins in front of Chloe and told her to "set the table"! :lmao:
She told us the rules: No Elbows on the table and No Tatalling!

We had a great time as every time she came by... she caught one of us with our elbows on the table and when one of us would complain that the other one was doing it she reminded us of the no tattling rule!!

I had the pot roast, Chloe had onion rings and Rene had tuna casserole.
Jamie still wasn't up for eating and just had some gingerale.
At one point I needed to go to the washroom and was walking towards the back when another server yells at me: "HEY, WHERE YOU GOING?"
I answered back that I was looking for the bathroom and he again yelled back
"WEll, IT'S NOT THERE, SO KEEP LOOKING!!" :rotfl2:
Everyone is looking, but we got a big kick out of this!
It was a pretty fun dinner !!! :goodvibes

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010048.jpg

We shared the smores for dessert! They were delicious!!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010056.jpg

We really recommend this restaurant if you're not shy about "playing along"
with the servers and if I ever wanted to work as a server, this would be a great place to work since you can just be yourself with the guest!!

After dinner... it was time to head over to line up for FANTASMIC!!!
But not without some Grief from DD first!!!
Again, she doesn't know what it is and is annoyed at me and my plan!
I told her to "smell the roses" and do her "people watching" while in line!!

So stay tuned for Fantasmic!!

Fantasyland Mom

Sounds like you had a great server at 50s Prime Time! They're pretty good about knowing whether or not you really want to play along--our server knew to back off when he realized Juju didn't understand what was going on and was getting apprehensive (she was 3 at the time and in a bad mood:laughing:), but he still joked with us in a nice way.
Glad everyone was starting to feel better! Can't wait to read about your DD's reaction to Fantasmic! There is certainly lots of time for people-watching in that huge line!

I missed updating Walt Disney - One Man's Dream!!
So I'll just insert those photos here.

It was pretty interesting checking out all the displays in here but we didn't stay for any of the shows at the end of the display.
We actually rushed our daughter through this a bit since we had our ADR at prime time coming up and in hind sight.. this would have been a good place to linger a bit longer (but not for little kids!)

Welcome 7165red!! Glad to have you along.
The one thing I'm learning is that it seems everyone at some point has their own horror stories when travelling. And when we had the luggage problem my DS at home texted me a quote "LIFE IS WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE..... IT'S HOW WE DEAL WITH IT THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE"

Yep, sometimes even the bestlaid plans go awry on us!

After we finished up at the Prime Time Diner, we had about a half hour to kill before getting in line for Fantasmic... so we just roamed around a bit and took in the sights and headed over to Hollywood Blvd to get in line. The line was already really long, so we just stayed put in line at that point.
DD wasn't too happy to get in line but eventually, she was having a good time as she started up conversations with some other young people in line.
Chloe is a first year high school band teacher and she met a group of young people in high school that were at Disney to play in the candlelight processional at Epcot... so she had a good time talking with this group.

Eventually, the line got moving and we got great seats right in the center for the show.

Chloe being a pest while we waited for Fantasmic to start:

When are they just going to learn to "Trust Me!" ? :confused3

After Fantasmic, it took a while to get out of there, and we had another ADR
at Sci Fi diner to just go for a drink/snack at 9:30 pm.
By the time we got out of the bottleneck at Fantasmic, it was about 9pm and we just slowly made our way over to The Sci Fi diner enjoying sights along the way.

It was really cool to sit in the cars and it was just like being at the drive in movie theatre!! Our last theatre in our city closed about 3 years ago and we really miss it. We loved getting the kids in their jammies and heading out to the drive-in with popcorn and candy and enjoy the movies!!

The Sci Fi diner showed horror movies :scared1:

So now.. it's just after 10 pm and the EMH's have started again. The park is open til 1 am for Dis Resort people!!
So... it's time to just bite the bullet and see what the wait time is for TOT!!!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010020.jpg

The standby time said about 45 minutes so we just got in line and sucked it up because we were doing this ride before we left the park! :cool2:

Sorry but I have to break up the post here due to too many photos!

Actually, we found that most of the stand by wait times were always shorter than posted and we probably waited about a half hour which we felt was good since there were no FP's available earlier and when we came to the park it was over 2 hours wait.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010068.jpg

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010128.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010127.jpg
On this photo we knew there was definitely something spooky about TOT because we found a doppleganger of our son Ben in the photo with us. We could have sworn we left him at home.
Me and Chloe and Jamie are in the back row on the right hand side and right in front of us there is a young man with black framed glasses that looks identical to Ben!! Spooky!! :scared1:
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene041.jpg

So after TOT we headed right over to RocknRollerCoaster ! The wait time posted was about 30 minutes! :woohoo:
Now... I've done my homework and I've read about everything and my plan was just to suck it up and ride everything!!!
BUT..... Somewhere, somehow..... I missed the fact that RRC goes upside down!! :scared1::scared1:
Chloe and Jamie rode in the seat in front and I rode behind with some young man that I made a comment to that he would protect me! Well, he wasn't fun and I guess he wasn't impressed that he was riding with an "old bag"! :lmao:

We get into the seats and I asked him if he'd ridden this ride before and he told me this was his 5th time!! OH, NO.... I just knew I was in trouble then because when a 20 something yr old guy is riding for his 5th time.. it must be fast and it must be good!! FOR HIM!!!! :dance3:

Then the loud speaker says to place your head back in the chair "JUST BECAUSE!!!" (That was not a good sign for me!! )

Holy Cr..... (parden my language!!!) I had no idea how fast this ride went and when the first turn came all I could remember from everything I read was not to close your eyes or you'd mess up your equilibrium and to focus on something stationary so here I am focussing on the back of the chair in front of me with my eyes wide open!!! The picture they took of me on the ride was pretty funny!!
Let's just say, I didn't enjoy this ride, but I'm glad I can say I did it!! :rotfl2:

Chloe and Jamie had a good laugh and told me that if I'd done more research that I would have known that the ride went upside down!
Aw... Good memories! :lmao:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010130.jpg

So with the 2 thrill rides out of the way... just one more ride to hit tonight.
Toy Story Mania!
These EMH's are working great for us!

All I will say about TSM is that it was a lot of fun and it was very colorful and I loved all the lifesize toys. But I'm not going to talk about my scores!! :sad2:

After TSM, we were really tired. We'd had a big day especially DH and I doing Animal Kingdom for the early hours. So it was time to call it a night.

By this time it's about 12;30 am. The park is open til 1 am but we are beat.
Time to head to the busses and get ready for DAY4!!

Recap of Day 3:
Morning in Animal Kingdom for Rene and Me!! (until about 11 am or so)

Day 3 afternnoon and evening in DHS:
Beauty and Beast Show
Ate Turkey Legs
Met Handy Manny
Great Movie Ride
Jamie met up with us
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Journey into Narnia
Walt Disney - One Man's Dream
Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe
8 pm Fantasmic show
Drink/snack at Sci-Fi diner
Watched the Osborne Christmas Lights
Tower of Terror
RocknRoller Coaster
Toy Story Mania

I guess we did get a lot done after all. We were a little worried about this day since we weren't getting to the park til after 1 pm. I really would have liked to have done the Back Lot tour and the Muppet Vision 3d and The Indiana Jones show but maybe that will all be an excuse to just have to go back!
In all, we loved DHS but we found it a hard park to tour. There are some spots still that I don't understand where they are! :confused3

Next up: Day 4 SLEEP IN DAY!!! (IF YOU CALL 8:30 AM SLEEPING IN!!)
AND SHOPPING AT DTD! AND THEN BACK TO MAGIC KINGDOM! (Jamie needs to catch up

I had just one more photo to add as we walked out of the park!!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010141.jpg

And just for fun, I thought i'd throw in a picture of our family on Christmas Eve!
It was a pajama theme this year and we all went in our "ONESIE'S"
:cool1:http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/December2010Christmas073.jpg

And you can see Ben there in the back in his blue jammies to compare to the
TOT photo and you'll know what I mean!!

Have a good night everyone!

Your family is beautiful. What a great idea to be nice and comfy on Christmas Eve. We are always at a family Christmas party so that wouldn't work for us but maybe one day. The picture of your family in front of the Osborne lights screams next year's Christmas card. Magical!

Thanks Grumpy's Wife!! The funny thing is, is that we did go out to a family Christmas party like this!! :rotfl2:
They wanted a pajama theme!! We even went to Church on Christmas eve with our fuzzy legs!!
:lmao:
Although, I did put a pair of sweatpants over top!!
And I tried to "fancy" it up a bit with the scarf!!

I thought the same thing for a Christmas card too!! It would be nice except that we're missing 2 sons and a daughter in law in it!
Maybe the jammie photo will be next years Christmas Card!

That's where I've left off on the TR, but just back to work today after being away for 6 months so between full time job and my home salon business, I need to find some more time for posting TR!!

That's funny that you say that because when I saw your photo when I first came across your TR that's what I thought and why I asked what area of the city you lived in! I was thinking maybe we saw each other at the library or superstore! My kids always bug me because I'll
just strike up a conversation with anyone while waiting in a line etc.. lol

It really is a small world!! Maybe we've seen each other at Polo park or somewhere!?

Hi Debbie,
Loving your TR! I can't believe the bad luck you guys had the first couple of days with losing you luggage and the sickness and all. Hope everything gets better and no one else gets sick. Can't wait to hear more about your trip! We were supposed to be there from Dec. 29th - Jan. 5th but DH ended up going to the ER the night before we were to leave and didn't get out in time to make our flight. We would have had to go through customs in Toronto and that always scares me.

I hate going through customs! I always feel guilty like I've done something wrong! I wish they didn't make you feel that way!!

I'm going to try to get an update going in the next couple of days. I didn't realize how long it actually takes to put it together with photo bucket being so slow and finicky sometimes!!

Well, Day 4 (Thursday December 30th) Here we come!!

Today we decided (on the advice of an fellow disboarder - Vegas Vick!!!)
that we would sleep in!!!!

It had been a really hectic and busy first 2 days in disney, not to mention our crazy 1st day getting there!! :scared1:

So we went to bed without setting any alarm clocks and woke up to the "body"
clocks!! :woohoo:

I think it's important to at least relax a little while on vacation!! But, since I've been home I have been telling friends that Disney is not a vacation, rather it is a bit of work!! especially, if you have limited time and want to see the most that you can in the time that you have!!

So..... we slept in all the way to the respectable time of::: 8:30 AM! :dance3:

Hey, it felt like sleeping in after 2 days of 5:30 am wake up calls!! and my first day where I never really slept at all!! :yay:

.... we leisurely, got ourselves together and headed out for Downtown
Disney to do some shopping!! :hippie:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_1196.jpg

First some serious shopping at the Disney Christmas Store. I bought a bunch of Christmas tree ornaments and didn't even think to take photos of them before I stored them when I got home... so you'll have to wait for photos til next Christmas when I put them on the tree!!
I found my son and new DIL and really nice tree ornament for first X-mas which was a big engagement ring with Minnie and Mickey sitting in it like a swing and a big diamond on top that I had engraved for 2010.

DTD was the best place for Chloe! This is what she wanted to do! SHOP!!

It was such a lovely day... finally the temperatures were warming up !
It went up to about 23 C that day and we could finally wear shorts in Florida!!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_1215.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_1204.jpg

This was another store that Chloe loved and I enjoyed it as well! The art is amazing and we both purchased posters to take home!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010150.jpg

It did get a little frustrating, OK.... a lot frustrating when she just wanted to spend the time looking at the computer screen for prints!! Just look through the store... you can look on a computer at home!!!!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010153.jpg

Chloe bought the poster in the second row second from the left of the disney princesesss!! It looks awesome in her apt.

I know... I know... we are just not that exciting right now!! we're shopping afterall... what do you expect! :upsidedow

so for interest sake.... I'll insert a photo from eldest son's wedding here: That's Chloe and Jamie in the front with the driver!
You Can't see bride and groom.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/JessesWeddingDay165.jpg

I'll continue on with our day in the next post!

And yet again, I'm impressed at how much you were able to do at DHS.

So..... we slept in all the way to the respectable time of::: 8:30 AM! :dance3:

Hey, it felt like sleeping in after 2 days of 5:30 am wake up calls!! and my first day where I never really slept at all!! :yay:

Only on a Disney vacation would 8:30 be considered sleeping in. There's just so much to do!

I'm Baaaacck!!!

Continuing on with Day 4! December 30th
The morning we spent shopping at Downtown Disney!

We also had a great time just sitting around for a bit watching as this guy
kept spitting on everyone's heads! :rotfl2:http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene057.jpg

Finally Chloe was doing what she wanted to do! Just sit around and people watch for a while! She bought the Big Minnie Mouse Doll she has in her hands as well!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene056.jpg

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010Rene045.jpg

So with our morning of shopping done... and a casual lunch that we ate outside on the patio around Downtown Disney... we were ready to head back to the hotel and have quick nap and freshen up for another evening at the MAGIC KINGDOM!! :wizard:

I'm so glad we planned for another night at MK since Jamie had gotten sick
on our first night there. So the plan was to re-do anything Jamie missed and and also to re-ride favorites like Space Mountain.

I kept saying I wasn't going to ride Splash Mountain since I just didn't want to get wet. So you'll just have to see what happens and if I suck it up!

The weather was finally getting nice. The temps were heading up to 23 C this afternoon so we were looking forward to a nice evening in the park.

We spent the morning shopping and browsing and people watching at Downtown Disney!!
Everyone's healthy and hoping to stay that way!! :cutie:

We went back to the hotel for a mid afternoon break and freshen up and then it was time to head back to Magic Kingdom for the evening!!
MK had EMH until 3 am!!!! So we figured we had time to revisit whatever Jamie missed when he had to leave the park on Day 2 since he was sick!!

The weather was finally nice. It went up to about 23 C this day and we could wear shorts and be comfortable.

So after our rest we headed back to MK for our ADR at Tony's Town Square. As soon as we entered the park, Jamie went off for fastpasses for Space mountain and was going to come back and meet up with us at Tony's. We then realized something was happening right at the front of the park and it was the flag lowering ceremony and the dapper dan's were singing so we decided to hang out and watch for a bit. We figured if we were a few minutes late for our ADR we'd be ok and Tony's was right there anway.

Castmates chose a little boy from the crowd to say the American Pledge and it was really nice to watch. I think these are the things that make Disney so special... when you just happen upon special events.

I didn't take any still photos of the ceremony since I videotaped it. But if you have a chance to watch it... it was a very nice ceremony.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010201.jpg
So on to dinner at Tony's:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010203.jpg
When we finished eating, the server brought out a nice complimentary
dessert for DH who was wearing his B-Day Badge!! (his birthday is Jan 1st)
so that badge was coming in handy!! The server brought him a card that was signed by a bunch of the staff as well!! A nice souviner to take home!
Hubby thought he could take his badge off now but Chloe and Jamie say "No Way" because we kept getting free desserts to share!!

When we finished dinner we headed out to the park!! Jamie had a mission to ride Splash Mountain so we split up and he went and did that! and we were going to meet up at Toon Town since hubby missed that when he took Jamie back to hotel sick 2 nights ago!
After Jamie rode Splash mountain he met up with us and we all went back and did Micky's Philharmagic (2nd time for me and Chloe, 1st time for Rene and Jamie)
I loved Philharmgagic, probably more the 2nd time than the first time! I think I could just keep sitting through that show! :)

Hanging out on Dumbo: http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010208.jpg

So when Jamie met up with us in Toon Town, we were just about going to enter the Judges Tent and Chloe got so excited when she saw that Micky and Minnie were there for photos!!
She ran up to the front and yelled "Mickey, I just want to meet Mickey"!!
The cast mate heard her and told her that there was a 45 minute wait to meet Micky and Minnie and Chloe was absolutely deflated and said she came to disney and all she wanted to do was meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse!!
The Castmate saw how Choe reacted and asked her why she didn't get their early to which Chloe replied " Well, my mom has this plan.........blah blah blah
to which the castmate responed " ok, come this way and dropped her rope and took us all in a back way and told us the wait would be 10 minutes!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo:
Is this what "they" call a little bit of pixie dust at Disney? !! :upsidedow

So we go in a back way and are about to see Mickey and Minnie and DH asks Chloe if she feels a little bit guilty that she has just skipped in front of all these little kids in line!!
Can you guess Chloe's answer? NO WAY!!! She's just a big happy kid!!!
:cutie:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010230.jpg

So after meeting Mickey and Minnie Jamie is insisting that we all go back to do Splash Mountain!
I just didn't want to get wet!!!! :confused3
But we all walked over anyway to see what the stand by time was and it turned out not to be too long so they managed to push me into line and I figured I'll just see!! I can always leave through the chicken line!!

Also, just needed to share today how excited I am! :cloud9:

You see, I had bought myself this really nice mug at DTD and it was a Mary
Poppins Mug!
But on the way home, in my husband's luggage, the handle broke off!
(Why does everything happen when my husband gets his hands on things! :confused3_)
Anyway, we have this really neat little store here that sells all kinds of retro stuff as well as Disney stuff. The store is called "Micheal Rodents"!! :lmao:
Get it???

So I called him up and sent him a photo of the mug on facebook and
he just let me know yesterday, that he was able to find it and he ordered it and it's there and ready for me to pick up!!!
I tried looking on line for the mug but no success!! So.... I'm so happy my mug can be replaced!! Yay for me! :thumbsup2

check out his store if your interested:

Here's a picture of my mug!
You can see where we've tried to superglue it! But it's just not the same and I would always doubt the strength of the handle and worry that hot coffee would spill over me!
Hey, the guy over at Micheal Rodent's told me he got more than one mug in if anyone of my Winnipeg friends are interested!

I use flikr and also paid for a pro account mainly so I could upload with out having a limit on space. I know there are some other disers that use the free version of photobucket and have the same problem, it's because you are exciding the maximum amount of bandwidth that they give you. Every time one of your pictures is shown on the dis it uses up some of your bandwidth allotment. Some get around it by making another account or just wait until they show up again.

Jazzabelle508
04-18-2011, 10:10 PM
I'm also having major photobucket issues. I don't want to have to pay for the pro version but I am very annoyed that can't do my update for a while, hopefully my account will open up on saturday. I'm really considering using another service. I wish that you could post pictures on the DIS just simply through your computer. It would defintely prevent my current problems.

I agree that I'd like to post pictures just through my computer!
Do you know roughly how much it costs to pay for the flicker or pro versions?
Maybe it is something to consider if it's not too expensive.

So today, finally, I can sit out on the front porch and low and behold the
ice cream man/boy rides by!! So funny, because he always wants to talk to me so
usually, in past years as soon as I hear the bells, I bolt inside for a few minutes until he passes (I know... I'm such a snob!! LOL)
but today... I just go outside as he's riding by and yes.. he has to stop and talk!

We stayed at All Star Music. It was the first time not in a deluxe resort because we wanted to try the family suite. The suite was nice but staying in a deluxe is worth it in the long run so we will be staying at riverside when we go again in august.

It was nice that it warmed up late in the stay. New Years Eve was amazing!! We enjoyed it at HS. We have been at Disney over new years eve for many years but have never spent it anywhere else. The band under the hat was a lot of fun and we had a blast!!! This years fireworks were particularly awesome as they were done to the band playing and totally surrounded the hat area!

We love the Osborne Lights. I think we have pictures of about every inch at this point! The dancing light shows are so incredible!

Here Goes:

We spent the morning in Downtown Disney – if you forget what we did you can check back a few pages!! Lol

We went back to the MK for reservations at Tony’s Town Square (again for photos – look back a few pages on page 6) Jamie ran and got a Fast Pass for Big Thunder Mountain as that was one of our favorite rides.

This is where I left everyone hanging!!:laundy::rolleyes1:surfweb::hourglass

After a bit of persuading, I got everyone to go on The Tomorrowland Transit Authority and once they were on and realized it was a nice leisurely tour and they could see great views over the park they agreed that it was a good idea!! You’d think they would all trust me by now!
We also did Buzz light year and Monsters Inc.
We rode the rail road around the park again too as these are all the things that Jamie had missed when he was sick the couple days earlier.
At least the weather was great today and we also had fastpasses for Splash Mountain!!
And YES!!! I did ride!!
I’d have to admit that I think Splash Mountain was my favorite ride of all. I just loved the sights and sounds of the whole ride. And I sat in the back so I wouldn’t get so wet!!http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010212-1.jpg
But… I’m so glad I decided to ride it.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010213-1.jpg

After Splash Mountain, we watched the Main street Electrical Parade - again for Jamie’s sake since he had missed it.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0954.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0959.jpg
After the parade we followed right along behind the parade up Main Street and got a prime spot for the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at 11:50 pm.
Let me say, that there is nothing I can say, to express how awesome these fireworks were!!!
They were the buildup to the NYE fireworks and they were just amazing. They did the countdown as if it were already NYE and they were 360 degrees around you. The sound was deafening and the sky was so bright.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/IMG_0362.jpg
This was a great way to spend our last day at the MK!! And I was so glad that Jamie was able to re-do all the things he missed out on when he was sick the other day we were in MK.
Well, our favorite day is coming up!!! NYE! in Epcot!! I'll try not to leave you hanging as long!! :cool1:

1. Downtown Disney
2. Lunch at Downtown Disney
3. Hotel break

Ha!! Earlier on our trip when we were at MK it was so cold and we had fastpasses to SM and we couldn't give them away!!! :confused3

But.... by Dec. 30th the temp had risen to 24C ... so that's the only reason I went on that afternoon!! and so glad I did!!

Now.. you'll just have to plan your Christmas trip!!! The decorations and fireworks were so beautiful and the parks are busy but open early and stay open late!!!

Ok, so here we go!! :cool1: Our last day in the parks!! :sad1: New Years Eve December 31,2010. :wizard:

We are going to spend the day in Epcot.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010295.jpg

We had a late night the night before in MK, so we slept in a bit since we knew we would not be leaving the park once we got there. (Didn’t want to risk not getting back in later)
We headed out about 9 am and arrived at Epcot about 9:30 am. I immediately “ran” to get fastpasses for soarin, and once I got there, attendants were handing out the fastpasses, so I thought to myself that if my tickets didn’t actually go into the machine that perhaps I could get another fast pass right away, so I “ran” once again to the other side of the park to get a fast pass for “test track” ! where I got it from the machine!!
Both fastpasses were not until 10 pm!! (and it was 10 am!!! )
So here’s the thing: you cannot have a plan on NYE!!! There is no way that any itinerary is going to work! The parks were jammed!! So we just decided to “go with the flow”!!!:dance3:

Now, with 2 fast passes in our pockets, we met up and decided to do whatever had the shortest line! We queued up for “The Seas with Nemo” !!
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010297.jpg
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010298.jpg

After we rode this Chloe decided that she needed to get in line for signatures of Disney Characters at the “Epcot Character Centre” :scared1:

Now… you’ve got to remember she is 23 yrs old!! And it’s NYE!!! I asked everyone a head of time what the most important thing was they needed to do and this was not on her list!! If I’d known this was so important to her, we would have done this on our first day there!!! But never the less, we got in line and 3 hours later she was a happy camper!!

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010346.jpg
After this, we were heading over to World Showcase and specifically, to the Canadian
Pavillion to go to lunch at “Le Cellier”!!

Waiting for our table:

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010337.jpg

Our travel agents daughter was there working and we found her working outside at the
Refreshment stand.
http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010344.jpg

Once we were done getting drinks and popcorn, Jamie decided that he was going to venture off on his own to do a couple of rides like missions space which we didn’t get a fast pass for! :3dglasses
At this time, DH and DD and myself started our tour of world showcase starting in Mexico!
By the time we got to Germany it was about 6 pm our time and midnight in Germany and Denmark where our son’s boyfriend lives… so we decided to send a text!! As well, Germany had begun to distribute NYE hats and noisemakers so made sure to get ours. :woohoo: As the pavilion was already taking part in NYE festivities!!! We continued to make our way around the world as each country was celebrating NYE at it’s respective times (in their actual countries!!)

http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx355/tenthavenue1/DisneyWorld2010367.jpg

At a certain point we ran out of money and had to resort to using our “Key to the World”
Card!! Chloe just realized what this meant… and decided the next round of drinks would be on her!!!

Ha... I'm off tomorrow!! You should see my suitcase!! :scared1: It's mostly stuff for him!!! I've got 2 kilo's of brown sugar (which is almost 5 pounds!!) and 2 boxes of oreo cookie crust, 3 boxes of coffee, peanut butter, pumpkin pie filling (to make pumpkin chocolate chip cheesecake!!) And... I have to bring his winter jacket!! :worship:
oh.. and of course I needed to bring some "WINNIPEG JETS" gear!! I got him a t-shirt and some gloves and a christmas tree ornament and a notepad paper to put on his fridge and a beer insulater! etc...
Oh.. and I've also got the "Jeannie's cake" ready to bring too!!! (Jeannie's cake is a winnipeg tradition for those who don't know... it's a delicious cake that is rolled in dark chocolate bits and is on a shortbread cookie crust!! People take them on planes all the time!!) I hope it makes it all the way to Copenhagen with me!!
I'll be back Nov. 13th and I will get to that last installment!!
See you then!! :goodvibes

Hi Queen...
We should plan a day for lunch. Maybe at saucers on Academy and then go take a look at Micheal Rodents down the street. If we go in between X-mas and new years he usually has all his disney christmas tree ornaments on sale!! :thumbsup2

We spent the remainder of NYE celebrating the New Year in each country as it happened starting with Germany! We landed up at the Rose and Crown Pub for late reservations on the outdoor patio. Before going in, we enjoyed watching a Beatles Band and enjoying some Grand Marnier slushies from France.

We had our dinner and timed it just right so that we had a birthday cake come to our table to celebrate DH's birthday which is Jan. 1st. After dinner, we were already on the outdoor patio and just found a spot closer to the lake to watch the fireworks! These were amazing fireworks!! We will probably never see such amazing fireworks again.
