I read recently in a trip report by the famous SH on Brian Bennett's trip report site that the Studios at HH now have VCRs. Is this true?

Also, we have never stayed in a Studio that wasn't in the Live Oak Lodge before and because we have 2 little ones with us made request for one under the 4 N/S GVs. Is it unbearable? We want to be nearer to the pool but not if the noise from above keeps one from holding a conversation.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. One, other thing has anyone eaten at a place called "Big Bamboo something or another" and if so where is it and how was it. Thanks again. Check-in at HH on Sunday for 6 nights.

I do not have any answers to your questions but I wanted to wish you a great vacation. We are going to HH for the first time in November and I would love to hear about your trip!

I will surely try to give an update on our upcoming trip to HH. We have always stayed in 2 bdrms at HH in the past. It is a great resort, very relaxing type of trip obviously not a WDW type of experience but we enjoy other things besides the parks.

We stayed in a studio at HH in March. Yes, it did have a VCR. Our room was 1914, I think. It faced
the marina. We had a great time. We have a 16 yr old boy and 12 yr old girl. We
took an air mattress and still had plenty of room. I really liked the big bathrooms. Took
the dolphin cruise, it was great.
Have fun!!

I have never stayed in a HH studio, so can't help with the VCR question. Sounds like they have them to me.

I have stayed in a 1BR beneath a GV and did not find the noise to be too bad. At meal times, we could hear chairs move across the time tile floor in the dining area above, but otherwise the noise level was quite tolerable.

Have a great trip. We go back to HH in July! :)

Thanks for the info blue56 (where are you from in TN, I was born and lived in Knoxville for 30 + years, before relocating to NC and later OH for new jobs) and Doc. I thought that we would be okay with the noise (chances are we won't get one of the 4 studios not in the lodge anyways) because with a 14 mo old and a 3 year old the folks above us should be the ones concerned about noise.:) Thanks for the good thoughts.

Hi, We have been to the Big Bamboo Cafe the last two trips to Hilton Head. To get there from Disney go to the Sea Pines circle and go 3/4 of the way around(Pope) go the the Coligny Circle and go 3/4 of the way around. It is on the left in a little shopping center. On the second floor. It opens at 4PM. It is closed onSundays I think. The "Really Good Nachos" are really good!

Have a great trip.

Thanks for the support Tammy. I thought we were the only ones that liked the Big Bamboo. Unfortunately the last time we were there was in the off season and it was closed for dinner. I think I like it because of the time I spent on Guam, flying B-52s.:bounce:

We ate there on our last trip in March. The decor was neat, the food was good but our server was horrible. She was slow and acted put-out by any requests. Then we find out it was her 1st night working.

I wouldn't worry because I am sure she has been fired by now unless its the owner's mother-in-law;) .

Check out the island resturant guide and it will tell you early specials for this and other resturants.

Our best meal on the Island was at the Oyster Factory. We had 8 thumbs up from our group of 8 which include 4 children.
