Our friends' son will be celebrating his 21st birthday whilst we're at HRH. Is it worth mentioning it at check-in and what can we expect?

Hi Debbie,
Yes, as Kaylee mentioned it definitley has to be worth mentioning at check-in, but they are limited in what they can do. So it may be worth asking to speak to the manager (LOU CARRIER) to commend him on such a great hotel so good infact, you come back to celebrate a 21st Birthday ! He is a really nice guy and he is definitley the person to make your stay special. If Lou Carrier isn't around, speak to Mark Shouger (Rooms Division Director), Direct line - 407 503 2150 about a possible room upgrade ( The Graceland suite looks good !).
The HR cafe would also be a great place to celebrate a 21st. If you go over there speak to Tina (general manager) and Terry Murphy (Operations manager) 407 351 7625. They will really help you out with any surprises you may want to plan, especially if you mention you have been there before. If you do plan to eat there, ask if you can see the Lennon room aswell.
Hope this helps

Thanks, Paul. What's the Lennon Room at HRC?

The Lennon Room is a secure room on the second floor at the HRC. Its basically a $5000.00 per night suite for the artists who play next door at Hard Rock Live. Liam & Noel (Oasis) were interviewed by Cat Deeley for CD:UK in the Lennon Room a few of weeks back. What makes it so special is the John Lennon memorabilia they have in there. Apparentley the Hard Rock bought most of the furniture from Lennons New York Apartment shortly after his death and furnished the suite at the Hard Rock with it. It also has a full bar and stairs that lead into your own VIP section at the back of the upper tier in the Hard Rock Live.
The centre piece to the room is the white piano from "Imagine". Each key has been signed by various artists including McCartney, Elton John etc etc. The HRC originally bought the piano for a snip at $12 million ! Apparently it is now valued at $100M + They also have his white suit from "imagine" in a glass case on the wall and other pieces of furniture.
I would post the photos if i knew how !
