Somebody actually braved taking their camera on it and took a video! Can't wait to ride this!

It won't let me post links because I've only made 3 posts on Disboards. But if you search Disney Dream on youtube and sort by upload date, it's the most recent. :)

FANTASTIC!!! The video that we saw when it was on Good Morning America, right before the ship left Germany, had us really doubting the ride. We felt it was going to move way too slowly. Woohoo!!!

It looks like the "Space Mountain" effects shown in the animated video did not make the final cut, which makes me a little sad. That would have been cool, particularly at night.

That's what I was just coming to post! I thought the section inside the funnel would be all dark and techno! Oh well, still looks like fun!

aw, those effects would have been really cool!

Yet another video that does seem like it moves rather slowly except for short periods of time with the small dips. hmm, probably fun to do at least once but not something we'll be clamoring to do again.

you never know, it still could happen. remember, these were preview cruises that all these videos and photos have been taken from, so hense the emphasis on the "preview" part :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and even without it, will it affect your cruise? :lmao: its a cruise industry first so no matter what its going to be a hit no matter what:banana:

Don't get me wrong, I'm still really looking forward to riding the Aquaduck, likely many times. I just thought that the tunnel effects were a particularly cool feature so it will be somewhat of a shame if Disney was not able to actually execute it. Perhaps the electricity and water did not mix. :) As you say, one never knows so maybe it will show up somewhere down the line....

That's an awsome video!! Will be on the Dream 4N during Presidents Week. Can't wait to experience the Duck!! Does anyone know if the water is heated?

Great video! I was waiting for the 3-2-1 countdown like on the DCL site does on the preview video!!:rotfl2:

I think this year's Magic cruise will be the last for us on DCL until our DS grows! There is no way I can take him on the Dream or Fantasy where the Aqua Duck is SO prominent and then tell him that he can't ride it. I was considering Dream later this year (if not sold out! :lmao:) and the Fantasy for March of 2012. How fast do boys grow!?:goodvibes

Wow!!! So much fun!!!! It's definitely got our family excited for Fantasy in 2012...the Fantasy will have the exact ride or will it be any different?

I don't think so. Some early riders have commented that the water was cold.

I, like a few others, came to post that there were no "Space Mountain" effects... I saw the nighttime photos (someone else posted on this board) of the AquaDuck from the outside and it was lit up every so many feet where the tubes connected. Would be curious to know if the Space Mountain effects are only a nighttime thing... hmmm.

It looks like it will take minute and 5 or 10 seconds per ride.
Really not too bad length wise.
I wonder how many raft were in the tube at a time.
Really looks like it has a good view.
Has a lot of sway, side to side in the final straight away.
I'm not too sure the tunnels are dark enough to creat a discotech effect that would be worthy, but music at the least would be nice.

It might just be an "emergency" light, but it's also possible that it's some type of strobe light or even a projector! :goodvibes

Nice spot. It sure looks like it might shoot out some beams of light toward the rider at night but I guess it could also just be a video camera to see what is going on in that section of the ride. Should know for sure soon....

Just FYI, the Disney Cruise site just added an Aquaduck video to the series they are doing introducing the Dream but it does not cover any new ground.

That's Tony's POV video. I will ask him if he knows what that was. He says it is very slow and not at all scary even for chickens.

I wouldn't jump right into conclusions… ;)

I also found this article

(link (http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2011-01-20/the-daily-disney/os-disney-cruise-aqua-duck-20110120_1_water-coaster-aquaduck-disney-dream))

There has been a lot of pre-launch talk about AquaDuck, the water coaster aboard the Disney Dream. But I had never imagined it as a nighttime activity. During the day, it's quite a view, and it's easy for your deck-bound colleagues to spy you zipping above the deck — and maybe even over the side.

AquaDuck at night "has a completely different feeling," said Imagineer Peter Ricci.

"At night, everything is lit up," said Ricci. "We have light rings up on the sections and the individual chasing lights and, of course, the show lights."

During the "not-so-lazy river" stretch, red and white lights circle the tube, and it almost has a Space Mountain launch feel to it.

Ricci shared some AquaDuck numbers:

There are 765 feet of ride, and about 10,000 gallons of water per minute flow through ride.

The first part of the coaster sends riders 12 feet beyond the side railing, and the riders are 150 feet over the water at that point. (Not quite as tall as Cinderella Castle, but in the neighborhood.)

That leads into a 270-degree loop.

"We have a not-so-lazy river. There's a lot of movement of water," Ricci said.

Maybe they're cameras... Maybe there's another camera on the opposite side which was used to take that pic... Maybe they'll use it to take pics of riders so they can pick up a copy at shutters! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I have high hopes! Lol :goodvibes

Thank you for posting this and a special thanks to the brave girls that actually brought their camera on the Aqua Duck. I am a bit closterphobic and I usually avoid any sort of fully covered water slides as the air in the tubes also remind me of steam rooms. I don't like the feeling of breathing in water. But, alas I noticed while sailing along with the rafters that their are several open air areas where I'll be able to get some fresh air. So, I am so there! I hope that it will be rideable during port stops, so hopefully it won't be as crowded. :)
