Tag Swap - COMPLETE

Tag Swap!

Welcome! This is a swap for the tags to make a tag book or to use in your books interactively.

Due date is Tuesday March 8th, 2011. This is the date I need to receive your tags. Please mail by March 1st.

1. You choose your theme.

2. You will make 2 tags (so a total of 8 tags for your group).
• The Tags are 5” from the George Cricut Cart – the Scalloped tag. If you do not have a the George cartridge- we will find people who can cut tags for you. I also have a gsd file for those with a craftrobo machine.
• NO hand written lettering on ANY items. Please use computer fonts, rub-ons, stickers or stamps.
• NOTE: Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon/fiber, 3D or flat stickers, rub-ons or embossing (dry/heat).

3. There will be only 4 people per group, so you can keep the production small per
group!

4. Special instructions:

• The tags will go horizontal for the book. (Tip of tag will face to
the left like we were opening a regular book)
• Use cardstock for the base of the tag and any patterned paper as an
embellishment.
• No need to double mat the tags.
• On the front of the tag (w/ hole to left) will be embellished w/ your theme.
• On the back of the tag (w/ hole to the right) will be for a
photo or journal box.
• You will be embellishing both sides since it will be a book.

5. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each kit. You‘ll have 4 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. - be sure to include your name, your DIS name. On the larger Ziploc bag please put your mailing address on your bag and include return postage.

6. Mailing Instructions- Mail in Priority Mailer & include return postage. The last tag book, if you were in more than 2 groups, they did not fit in a flat rate envelope well. Please keep this in mind. Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these. On the outside of your box/envelope please include your DIS name and Swap name in the bottom corner!

7. Please PM me with your address.

8. Most importantly HAVE FUN!!

Let's see what happens over the weekend and how we can work with the groups we have and then we can make a decision. If there are only a few people we can also use regular postage and envelopes (padded) instead of priority to save everyone money.

that's a good idea! I was going to use them in my albums, not a tag book....I still would want to do some too, hopefully we will get a few more to join!

Pockets made with vellum are a way to use them in your books. Because they have two sides, you want to be able to use both sides and still see them.

since I got my block, decided to re-organize my papers, about half way done....wow there is so many different shades to each color...but its looking nice a neat!

You could also use the main cricut cut for castle. Cut it out on white paper and use water colors, inks and glaze pens to color it in. Put in on the shadow afterwards to take out any curl.

I have a question for everyone- I will be away from March 1st to March 7th (I just found out today)- my DH and brother will be here so sending packages isn't a problem- I just won't be here to let you know what has come in. Would you like to put off the due date one week so when you mail I am here or leave it the same. I am not in the swap myself so my travel doesn't effect my work and I can sort when I arrive home so it won't matter for that either- the big thing is that I won't be here to recieve packages the last week.

I am not worried about packages being left in odd places- they are always left in the mailbox/on the mailbox in a bag/or in the garage(if it is open). Both my husband and brother are better than I am about getting the mail than I am.

Dh brought in the packages while I was gone but didn't bother to tell me what had arrived. I had a huge pile of packages returning home today. I now have the packages from:

so I am just waiting on 5 swappers/4packages and I think they should all be in the mail as of today.

Very nice- I look forward to seeing you both. We are staying overnight at OKW that Thursday- the Scrapbook Expo is at Gaylord Palms the next day and I was thinking about going so we decided to stay the night instead of just driving up. We will be renewing our passes on the trip as well.

Dad is weak but gaining strength- he got an infection after chemo. When the doctor's looked at everything they realized that this wasn't a recourence of Breast cancer but instead a different cancer- they haven't said what kind yet but it attacks his white blood cells. He can't take chemo with it so they are trying an experimental drug. The doctor says the good news is the cancer is in his back and hip but not in any organs- it is when it gets into organs that people die- so they can keep trying treatments to help him get better if needed.

I have everything sorted through its forst stage. I have time this afternoon to start working on the next stage of sorting. Things have taken a bit longer- I had a number of groups with placeholders instead of the actual items and that makes things longer to sort. I also had a few tags where I noticed (i didn't take each tag out of bags and I am not in any group) there was only 1 side completed so I have been going through my things to find stickers or such that match to add into those bags since the tags are not complete.

I have to go to the PO and get packages to mail everything in as well. I would say things should be mailed by Friday as long as nothing major comes up in life.

I need to remove the tags from the largest bags in order to fit them into boxes- they are in the individual bag and the group bag but all the groups are not in 1 bigger bag for many of you.
