"(I'VE HAD)THE TIME OF MY LIFE" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.

DH and I got married in a courthouse, but we danced to the song later that evening when were alone. To this day, 11 years later when we watch Dirty Dancing, the song still brings a big smile to both our faces. :jester:

Unfortunately, the band we had didn't play "our song" (which is "Your Song", by Elton John) -- so we went with a second choice -- "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel. :)

You Bring Me Joy by Anita Baker

You bring me joy
when I'm down
Oh so much joy,
When I lose my way your love comes smilin' on me.

I saw your face
and then I knew
we would be friends
I was so afraid but your arms they'd say: "Come to me"

So I'd say to you
"Can we talk for a while?"
You'd say "alright:"
When you love me, I smile
I feel your hands and you feel mine
You bring me joy.

You bring me joy
don't go
too far away
If I can't see your face I will remember your smile

But can this be right
or should we be friends
I get lonely sometimes
and I'm mixed up again
'cause you're the finest thing I've seen seen in all my life
You bring me joy.

My joy - my joy
(solo)

I believe this is gonna be what you want it to be
I just love you, I just, I love you oh can't you see
'cause you're the finest thing I've seen in all my life
You bring me joy

My joy, you're my joy
my joy, my (you bring me joy) my joy

Thank you, baby, thank you, baby
(You bring me joy)
I just love you baby
I just love you baby
I just love you
When I lose my way your love comes smilin' on me.

Feels Like Home
Performed by Chantal Kreviazuk
Written by Randy Newman

Something in your eyes makes me want
to lose myself
Makes me want to lose myself
In your arms
There's something in your voice makes my
heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life

If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've felt so low
If you knew how I wanted someone to
come along
And change my life the way you've done

Feels like home to me (2x)
Feels like I'm all the way back where
I come from
Feels like home to me (2x)
Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

A window breaks down a long dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see through the darkthere's light

If you knew how much this moment
means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you are making me
I've never thought I'd love anyone so much

Feels like home to me (2x)
Feels like I'm all the wayback where I come from
Feels like home to me (2x)
Feels like I'm all the way back
where I belong
Feels like I'm all the way back
where I belong

I love this song. No one had ever heard it when we used it 2 years ago. It made it even more special. And dh used those words when he first described me to his mom. "She feels like home". Still makes me want to cry.

Ratsrule, that's funny. My DH's best friend danced to "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad."

Turned out not to be too good, either, they divorced a little over a year later.

Beautiful in my eyes by Joshua Kadison (can you say one hit wonder? Never heard from him again)

If I could do it all over again, I would have picked a song that had more meaning for my dh and I, like something from Paul McCartney or Phil Collins.

Angel Eyes by the band Steelheart, It had a very special meaning to us throughout our dating so even though it wasnt the typical wedding song (rock) it fit us perfect.
Most everyone knew what it meant for us but I just had to laugh at those "older people" who probably thought, what kind of song is that.http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/jumpinggreens.gif

alabamaalan - we have something in common, although I'm not Baptist - I don't dance and DH and I don't drink - so we had no band or DJ or alcohol at our wedding reception, almost 20 years ago.

During the ceremony DH's father sang, "Sunrise, Sunset" (he was Tevya (Iknow I spelled that wrong!!:( ) twice in Fiddler of the Roof.

DH also had "Your Song" played.

As we walked back up the aisle at the end of the ceremony, it was to "Endless Love."

"Scotch and Soda" by the Kingston Trio.

Scotch and soda, mud in your eye
Baby do I feel high
Oh me oh my do I feel high

Dry martini, jigger of gin
Oh what a spell you’ve got me in
Oh my, do I feel high

People won’t believe me, they’ll think that I’m just braggin’
But I could feel the way I do
And still be on the wagon.

All I need is one of your smiles, sunshine of your eye
Oh me oh my do I feel higher than a kite can fly
Give me lovin’, baby, I feel high.

Oh, people won’t believe me, they’ll think that I’m just braggin’
But I could feel the way I do
And still be on the wagon.

All I need is one of your smiles, sunshine of your eyes
Oh me oh my do I feel higher than a kite can fly
Give me lovin’, baby I feel high.
