THINK AGAIN! If you have a problem with someone, keep it to PM or email, we don't need it, or want it here.

if PM'ing them isn't a possible option, and they've hidden their e-mail address? I just responded to someone on the cruise line board about comments they made that I disagreed with, but respectfully, wasn't nasty or anything like that so hope that was all right. But I'm wondering, do you have to have a certain number of posts before being able to PM that poster? Or can a person choose NOT to be PM'ed at all?
JerseyJanice
09-13-2002, 09:17 AM
Chatty, that's true. Someone can choose not to receive PM's.
In case like yours, you can try dealing with the other poster nicely, or if they're really out of line, you can report the post to a mod.

I know we can turn off our pm's if we choose to under our user cp. People that try to pm you when you've got it turned off will receive a message that the dis'er isn't using the pm system.
Good question about when you can pm. I assume you can pm from the get-go though.

I agree too Cathy.
I made a simple observation based on posts on the thread, that observation was somehow construed as a personal attack, and it went downhill from there.
PMs can be a good way to handle it, assuming the person doesn't lock out their PMs in order to hide.

Brenda, if a person chooses to "hide" that is STILL not our problem. This is not high school, people, conduct yourselves like adults please!

I couldn't even try to PM the person, as it wasn't an option in that line under her post. The "e-mail" option was there, but when I clicked on it a notice came up saying "sorry...the poster has opted not to receive e-mails...blah...blah...blah. She had only posted 22 times and was a "welcomed guest" so maybe you have to get to "DIS Vet" status before you can be PM'd? I don't know....*shrugs shoulders*

LOL Chip, friendly "wars" are ok, but the boxing ring is around the corner, others can go and duke it out there! ;)

I am just bummed out that once again I am in the dark here....... I always miss out on the action - darn bathroom breaks!!:( ;) This is what happens when you drink multiple cans of Pepsi and DIS - the excitement always kicks in when I'm in my other "office".

Guys I really think Cathy was pretty clear on what she said. Details will not be rehashed...problems between individuals will be handled by pm or emails...they will not play out on these boards.
Not to worry...........I LOVE all of the members here;) ;) ;) ;) .......

OK, the http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/fight.gif will stop per Cathy. It seems a lot of stress has been on the boards this week, and I think we all know it is due to the stressful week we have alll had to endure.
Lets give {{{HUGS}}} to each other and go on from here. Let's respect each other and each other's opinions. Lets all get along as much as we can. Of course we are going to have differences, that's what makes this board so interesting, (besides the FLUFF :bounce: I love Fluff)
I have noticed the board seems strained this week, and the posts are much fewer than normal.
Lets get back to the family we know we are. http://www.stopstart.btinternet.co.uk/sm/luvdup.gif http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/jump.gif

Yikes, EROS, I can't see those guys too closely, but they look like a bunch of sissys to me! I really cannot find myself drooling over a man who stands with his hands on his hips like a teenaged girl and I am SO not attracted to men who prance around in thongs. :teeth: (but I'm NOT judgemental, really, I'm NOT! :teeth: )
I much prefer regular boxers. Not boxer briefs, just plain boxers. If you can find a calendar of REAL men, maybe I'll even join in on the calendar exchange. :)
