nikon coolpix s8100

my wonderful dh bought me the s8100 for christmas. for awhile i've been wanting a dslr but the $$situation cant takle that yet- (sons college education takes priority) but hubby surprised me with the nikon s8100 and i love it,now the waiting for the dslr wont be that hard anymore. what do you experts think of this camera??

I have a bunch of P&S cameras, one of which is a new S8100. I haven't tried it yet but I'll post my opinion (good or bad) after I try it if you like. Check the link below.

I normally shoot with pro cameras but I love my little Nikon S8000 point & shoot. It goes everywhere with me and I've gotten some great pictures with the 10x zoom lens.

Just bought a Nikon S8100 a couple of weeks ago. Wonderful for pictures in low light which was important to me in selecting a camera.

Took a little getting used to not putting index finger over pop-up flash but was a minor detail and easily corrected. Love the camera.
