Hey. I'm not Dopey. My wife is Dopey. I'm Grumpy. Just ask anyone who knows me really well.

It's probably best that our group meet in the morning. If the first day of DIScon 2002 is anything like last year, things will start heating up pretty early. Last year Taryn hosted a solo DISers meet mid-afternoon on the first day of DIScon.

Breakfast sounds like a good idea. I haven't done the AK breakfast thingie yet. What are the crowds like over there? Do we need ressies? Yikes. I think that I smell smoke.

I'm pretty sure that Steve and I are doing MVMCP on the 8th but we will be at the HDD the 3rd and who knows how late in the night after that.

Do we know what hotels people are staying at? That would make a breakfast thing easy if everybody in the group was staying at the same hotel.

I know nothing about what is available in that neck of the woods we usually stay at MK resorts. A character meal might be to much noise. What is available for quiet "food fights" over in that neck of the woods besides krispy kremes.

Tammy, the Dolphin has a buffeteria type place where you can get Krispy Kremes, plus hot entrees like eggs, bacon, french toast, etc.

They also have a sit-down restaurant that has a breakfast buffet (can't recall the name....Coral Something).

Both are actually pretty good.

We'll be doing the HDD the night before, but I'm a natural getter-upper in the morning anyway. And it looks like there will just be four of us in that group as of right now anyway.

Actually Steve, you bring up a really good point. Do the mini groups want to just make plans to do things in their group of 4 or 5 or do we want to do a big meet where we include our mini groups and other hanger on-ers (ya know, like BARB, the breakfast MAVEN)...

Actually Steve, we will be 5 if there is coffee around where we meet in the morning. DH is a newbie that I'll be dragging around. I say keep it small and let others join that want to. Of course this is all subject to change once we get a itinerary going and we hear from our "newbies". They might just run in fear if we start planning "huge" breakfast food fights and such. ;)

Steve, we could drag our newbies kicking and screaming into the buffeteria and then those that wonder what the ruckus is could join us in inducting said newbies into the group. After all we are the "villian" group. :p

Hi Karen - I was just making an assumption since most people are grouped according to where they are staying that we'd be doing stuff in proximity to that particular resort. And for the EVIL Villain group, we'd be doing something in the morning before registration, it might not be a bad idea to do this close to the Swolphin.

I like the idea of meeting at the BCV. That makes it very convenient. Does Beaches and Cream do breakfast???

Beaches and Cream has a crummy breakfast, it is like you are back in the cafe at school with your lunch trays. It is very crowded, hectic, and nothing that is very yummy. Lots of donuts, cereal, that sort of thing. There is also Cape May at the Beach Club. It is a character breakfast, usually with goofy in swimming trunks.

It looks like a nice restaurant. We went by it a couple times last trip and it was good sized. Here is the menu from Deb Willis's site.

Okie Disney ~ Regarding a separate solo meet, I didn't put anything together. I thought I would just offer myself up as a liason for solo's to be introduced to others at the opening reception. We had a solo table last year for where people could congregate.

Given that that has changed... well, anyone wanting a contact please feel free to PM me and I will make sure you have a friend waiting for you where ever... whenever! Either myself of another DIS member. I remember how freaked I was travelling to DISCON one alone last year...! It took me 30 seconds to feel like I had about 100 new members in my family!
