Photoshop Elements 9 basic question

Hi:
How do I save in PE9? If I work on the picture, do I save it a specific way such as a certain resolution or certain size?

I am no expert on photoshop but I just go to file, save as, click the save as copy box(so it also saves the original), a box comes up that asks what quality- low to maximum, it looks like it saves it at 8(of 12) as default, you choose. click ok and it is saved.

Thank you. I don't know why I thought I had to save it by the type of picture I wanted to print (8x10) etc.. A photography class I took 6 months ago, touched on elements for 3 weeks but now I've completely forgotten it.
