Hi all, this is not my first visit to the WISH boards, I have had some ups and downs and now I weight the most I EVER will. I need to lose 120 lbs to meet my goal weight. Losing 2 lbs per week I should lose the weight by March 1, 2012. My goals for the next few months are to lose 2 lbs per week, run a 5 mile in March, run a 9.3 mile in July, and possibly run a 1/2 marathon at the food/wine festival, if not then the 1/2 marathon next January. Each year I say i'm going to do it, i've even signed up and paid the registration fee in the past. That didn't seem to motivate me, i've had a few races with a largish registration fee which I paid, but I didn't seem motivated to train for them or run them when the time came. I am going to focus on small victories and focus on the positive, not on what i'm not achieving. I'm hoping this will help me to achieve my goals this time. I hope you will follow my thread, I could really use the support and encouragement :)

After behaving myself and staying within my calorie goals for two days, I felt my body was regulated enough to go back to the gym tonight. I did 45 minutes on the Elliptical and burned 550 calories and did a distance of 3 miles. It felt good to be able to pick back up where I left off essentially. The diet is going well, I find that loseit.com is very helpful to track my intake and calories. I feel better already, even though i'm obviously not pleased when I look in the mirror. Not looking how i'd like, most definitely, but I will get back there and then some! The trick is to not let myself have any setbacks. Today was a stressful day at work but I DID NOT stress eat at all and I went to the gym instead. I feel so much better about myself that I didn't stress eat!!! I have to just keep swimming...:rotfl::wishmember

I did 45 minutes again tonight on the elliptical and burned 550 calories, I also stayed within my calorie goals! Hoping my knee isn't hurting too much tomorrow, as I was getting ready at the gym I banged my knee into the bench which resulted in my patella shifting briefly. Now i'm watching the Biggest Loser. Hopefully I can keep up with the contestants (at least diet wise, I can't work out as a full time job). I have a big loss to make myself.

Workout break today, back at it tomorrow. Stayed within my calorie budget :) Still feeling good, walked in a store, stood in the chips/candy aisle and realized that I don't need that garbage. Felt good to not even crave it. There were all kinds of treats on the table at work today, cordial cherries, etc... and I resisted, pretty proud of myself for that. Every little bit is a step in the right direction :)

Well gotta love that first week water weight loss, 9 lbs down from last Friday, January 1st when I started. I have been doing the elliptical to burn at least 550-600 calories, i'm going to try to do this at least four days a week for now (i'm quite busy with full time work and two and a half days of clinical plus 6 graduate credit hours of work to do) so I feel that four days a week will be a great start at least until I can do more once clinical is complete and I have more time off. I have done well this week and i'm pretty proud of myself, I have eaten healthy all week and even though today I have thought about some cravings I feel great. I am going out to dinner tomorrow but I will make healthy choices, and of course i'm going to the gym in the AM. I already notice a difference in how my scrubs are fitting and I think one more week of working out and i'll be fitting in my other scrub pants :)

Well today was a bit of a reward day. I know all the diet advice tells you not to reward yourself with food, but I intend to reward every ten pound loss with a "free meal". One where I can eat whatever I want. I have officially lost ten pounds as of today, and I started the day out burning 750 calories on the elliptical, and then ate a fiber one bar, and saved all the rest of the calories available to me for my "free meal". At the Japanese Hibachi Restaraunt. So I really don't feel too guilty, after all I earned it!
I can't wait to earn that 20 pound badge :)

Still on track, didn't stress eat, despite having a 14 year old that is likely one of the biggest brats on the face of the planet. I have learned to just laugh at her ridiculousness. Someday I won't have to live with her anymore :) So anyway did 700 calories of cardio and kept well within my calorie count. I have moved beyond stress eating and back into taking out that stress on the elliptical/treadmill. And to think I occasionally consider having another child or adopting....and then all I have to do is look at my 14 year old and realize I wouldn't want to take the risk of ending up with someone that mean again. Despite the stress and challenges I am determined to do something for MYSELF and keep up the good work on my diet!

Still doing well, staying well within my calorie budget. I seem to have "hit a wall" with my great weight loss though. I knew it wouldn't last, it was just water weight. Now I need to stay off the scale and only do weekly weigh ins because I already find myself discouraged when I get on the scale. Still working out and still doing well! :) Here's to 10 more lbs by February 1st :)

Yuck, I hate colds! Felt myself coming down with something on my way into the clinic today and by the end of the day it was all I could do to go to Panera Bread and get some low fat chicken soup. Had to forego the workout for today :( which kind of scares me about getting off track since my next gym day won't be until Saturday, but I have stayed within my caloric goals, and I have not had any cheating. Here's hoping for a fast recovery from this cold!

Still sick and stagnating on the weight loss plan, haven't lost control though. I am feeling better now and i'm getting back to the gym tomorrow after work! If I can make it through being sick and staying on the diet I can do just about anything.

Went back to the gym today! Did 600 calories of cardio (400 on the elliptical and then decided i'd hop on the treadmil and "run" a mile) Now a run to me right now is like a fast walk to anyone else, I got WAY off track but I did keep going for a mile. Not bad since I haven't run in nearly a year and that was after 35 minutes on the elliptical. My goal tomorrow is 2 miles without stopping and then i'll do my other cardio afterward. It felt good to get back to the gym after being sick. Feeling better, still some residual congestion but the gym sure got that moving!

I am staying off of that scale until Friday! I should have known better than to get on the thing at night, grr!

False alarm on the scale.....thank goodness! Ran one mile and then ran/walked another after that. Still a lot of congestion in my lungs/throat so that made it hard to go past one mile. By next weekend I want to be running two miles without stopping (and mind you my "run" isn't very fast). Hope everyone is doing well with their exercise/healthy eating resolutions. I decided i'd have spaghetti tonight since I was craving it, and at least I used the "garden harvest" spaghetti from ronzoni. It was pretty good, tricolor.

Brrr it's freezing here today, 4 degrees F I was going to go skiing but that's too cold for me! It was -22 in some places around here last night. Looks like a lazy day at home then off to the gym later.

Still with some residual cough/congestion and unbearable dry mouth when running, but I did do a mile today and upped the pace to 4.7 for the whole thing. Two days ago it was 4.5, yesterday 4.6 and today 4.7. If it weren't for the dry mouth and need to drink copious amounts of water I could have done more running. After that I did 40 minutes on the elliptical, burning 550 calories for a total of 750 calories of cardio tonight. If I get home early enough from clinical tomorrow I may try Zumba tomorrow night, if not perhaps i'll try it on Thursday AM. And all I wanted tonight for dinner was Taboule Salad, it's amazing how filling it is, and some cottage cheese for protein. I was just thinking tonight how much better i'll look in those graduation pictures now that I decided to get my but back on track and lose weight! I won't be at my goal by any means, but I sure will feel better and look better than I do now. And by the time my birthday rolls around in September, i'll look way better than I do now!

Took a break from cardio today, did some yoga on the wii fit instead and then some balance games. I am hoping that keeping off the treadmill for two days will help calm down this cough.

Fell off the wagon the past few days, but I am going to get back on track tomorrow. It's amazing how crappy unhealthy food makes you feel, i've had a few days of just eating bad things and wow what a difference that makes. I feel logey, lazy, just blah. Highly uncool, getting back on track tomorrow!

I did it! I lost 3 more lbs as of Thursday after the gym! I have determined that i'm only going to do my weigh ins after my own "last chance" workout at the gym on Thursdays. Since my one day off a week right now is on Thursday it works out perfect, I can exercise, weigh in and then drive to Syracuse for school. I also ran one mile at 4.8 on the treadmill, a 12 minute pace, creeping up slowly but surely. This cough is just about gone and tomorrow my goal is to run 2 miles on the treadmill, even if it is at a slow pace. It was so encouraging to see that 3 lbs loss on the scale! Especially after stagnating for about two weeks when I was sick. So the grand total is 14 lbs since January 1st. Yay me!
7 more pounds and I get to have dinner at the Japanese Steakhouse again :)

Today I did a 5K! Of course it was on the treadmill but it was a 5K. I didn't run the entire thing but I went 3.1 miles and did it in under 45 minutes (i'm not sure about the exact time but it was under 45). I also got on the scale after the gym (at the end of the day i'm a brave soul) and I have lost 15 pounds total since January 1st! Wow I feel good and like they say it takes 22 days to make something a habit, I am well over 22 days and still going strong. Aiming for a similar success for February!

Did 3 miles on the elliptical, I was a bit naughty though, ate a tuna sub for dinner but still stayed well within my caloric goals, once the exercise was calculated. My legs were killing me though, 3 days in a row of 3 miles each day. Looks like a good night for a rest tomorrow, maybe some wii fit after my daughters basketball game :)

Just checking in, had a couple bad food days but getting back on track now. Only ran a mile at the gym, felt like I was burning up, but at least it was a 12 min pace. Was going to do the elliptical but I felt horrible. At least I haven't gained any weight :)

Feeling much better today, I ran 2.3 miles with my best pace of 11:33 which is pretty great for me. I also burned 300 calories on the elliptical after that, oh and I stepped on the scale and saw a number that made me very happy, 2 more lbs gone, total wt loss 17 lbs since January 1st! I am sure the running will help me keep losing weight, and it will be even better when these mounds of snow go away and I can run outside again.
On the downside I am losing all hope of finding a job as a Nurse Practitioner when I graduate in May, so I guess i'll just still be an RN with a wasted masters degree. Oh well, now I get to work two jobs again.

Soooo glad they reopened the track at the gym. I do so much better when i'm not on a treadmill, I just get so bored with the treadmill. I ran about 3.6 miles, the first 1/2 on a treadmill and then the next 3.1 nonstop without walking on the track. I have lost 18 lbs so far and am excited to lose 2 more pounds, then I get a 20 pound badge and dinner at the Japanese Steakhouse!!! :) Not to mention i'll see a number I haven't seen on the scale since 2009 :)

Ran 4 miles tonight without stopping, even though it took a long time I didn't walk. It took me 56 minutes but I am not sure if I didn't run a few extra laps on the track, I tend to lose count and then just go back to the last number I remember so I usually think I end up doing two to three extra laps. I am 0.4 lbs away from that 20 pound badge!!!! I'm pretty excited, I will have lost 20 lbs since Jan 1st.

After a two week hiatus of being lazy, logey and extremely naughty on my diet I got back at it today after realizing how crappy I was feeling. I ran 2.7 miles this morning :) Thank goodness I didn't gain back ALL the weight I lost, only a couple of pounds.
