There are category 7's on the Magic & Wonder. They are what they call "Navigator" verandah cabins and they only sleep 3. They did not make this category on the new ships.

Cat 7 is only on the Magic/Wonder. It's a unique type of cabin called a Navigator's Verandah. It does have a balcony but it's all enclosed with an open porthole, no glass.
If you look at exterior photos of the Magic/Wonder showing the aft sides of the ship, you'll see portholes in the metal frame of the ship. Those are the cat 7. I'd like to try one but they only sleep 3 and we are 4.

On the Dream/Fantasy, they kept the same exterior design but made those extra large oceanview (window) cabins and they are able to sleep 5. Much more practical imho. If you note the square footage of those rooms is 241 which is same as what the balcony rooms are including the balcony space.

I guess just to avoid confusion, they didn't change what a cat 7 is. What we all think of when we think cat 7, is not on the Dream/Fantasy, so there can be no cat 7 there.

Does that make sense? I haven't had all of my morning coffee. :surfweb:

On the Magic/Wonder Cat. 8 is only different by cat 9 in location. Once inside the room, they're exactly alike.
No one has photos of the Dream yet but you can check them out on DCL's website.

Here is our cat 9, deck 2 on the Magic:
