We're leaving for WDW in 3 days My DS is 40 3/4 " so meets barely some of the height requirements. He is on the thin side and just turned 4yrs old - Is 4 too young for Kali etc - I know we will skip Space Mtn.?
Thanks for any feedback.

My dd is just 40" and 4 1/2 and when we went in April she LOVED Kali, btw its a height requirement of 38 now. She also loved Splash Mt and BTMR. I took her to the ride, explained it to her and let her decide. She is a bit of a daredevil and loves any roller coaster so she wanted to ride it all. I would start off with the barnstormer, then BTMR and finally Splash, the height requirement for Space mountain is 44 so no decision there!
Have fun.

He loved all the new rides he qualified for. Absolute favorite was Tower of Terror, also loved BTMR and Splash Mountain. This year he qualifies for Space Mountain, barely, and is really looking forward to that. Not sure about Kali, didn't make it last year or we thought he didn't anyway, but not sure he will like being that wet anyway.

My son is also slight, 25% in weight. He had no trouble with any of the rides that had height restrictions.

My advice: I think you know your child the best. If you think he can handle the bigger rides, he probably can. Prepare him as best you can for what to expect. Then go for the ones you think he can handle. If there's a problem, realize that the rides generally are mere minutes long.

Thanks for the feedback. My DS is definately a daredevil and will probably enjoy the big rides better than the dark ones (ie Snow White, etc). I was a little afraid of ToT of course I hate falling but DH loves that kind of ride and DS probably will also.
Thanks again!:pinkbounc

I wrok for Universal out her ein CA and have a bit of advice- this is for anyone- but especially if your child is on the thin side...make sure thatthe lap bar or restrant doens't have too big of a gap ( so your child does not slde around too much, this could result in injury). Also make sure that your child's head is a few inches aove the lap bar and that your child does not duck down during the ride ( especially fsat rides). A common injury on theme park rides is children getting knocked around or sliding forward and hitting the lap bar. Even if a child makes the height requirment, I really think it is safer on some rides to make sure that the child is a good two inches above the height requirment. I think Kali River Rapids would be fine, since it is a fairly tame ride, witha seat belt harness. Just be sure to really carefully check out the restraints for each ride. Also, you might want to ask the attendant at each ride, why the particular height requirment was used. The reasons for the requirments vary for each ride and you may realize that it is a ride you would not want to have your child ride. Just be sure to take the time to really check things out. Have a great trip!!! - Karen
