June 2011 CANCELLED ADR Thread - Read 1st Post

New policy for threads - Trade/Transfer/Wanted posts are no longer allowed. Since Disney no longer allows transferring of reservations to new names, we will no longer support trading of ADRs.

If you and another poster choose to call Disney at the same time to attempt to reclaim a cancellation that is fine and outside of the boards.

Only Cancellation Notice Posts will be allowed going forward. Wanted posts will be deleted without comment.

Thank you for understanding the reason for this change.

I'm newer to the boards and think it is so thoughtful that people would want to spread some "magic" by helping others get a ressie they want! :thumbsup2 I am going the first week of June but so far none of the cancellations I would've liked could fit into our schedule :( but I keep checking daily for open ADR's and the board for any cancellations!

Have those of you who have done this been successful just by coordinating times?
I tried that with a Sci Fi I had and the other person wasn't able to get it. My guess is that it was just a timing issue, where someone else happened to be checking at the same time and they snagged it before the other person could. I canceled for a party of 10 and a few minutes later, I found a party of 4 ressie available at the same time. So maybe some other party of 6 got there first. I don't know.

You aren't going to believe this but I have been trying for WEEKS to get this reservation for my friend and her son who booked their trip two months ago....I try everyday all the time, and when I got up this morning at 6:00, clicked on the WDW dining site, tried it for the 1,000th time and I got it! Yes, it is very annoying though. I had a harmony barber shop reservation that I called to cancel yesterday. This can't be done on-line, and no joke, I spent over 30 minutes trying to take care of that. So time consuming!!

Then I was really frustrated because I was asking the CM why we could no longer book fantasmic on-line and when the "diffculties" were expected to be resolved. She tried telling me that we never were able to book this on-line because it's a credit card reservation. Funny because I've personally booked, cancelled, and re-booked fantasmic all on-line. Oh well! ;) I had her check for any fantasmic availability, and that took another 10 minutes. How in the world could you ever coordinate cancellation times if it has to be done by phone???? I guess I'm just stuck with the fantasmic time/place I have because there's no way I'm calling that every day.

I have a LeCellier, O'hana & Kouzinna in 2 weeks I need to cancel,

But the last trip I had to call and go through a long phone menu & then sit on hold for what seemed like forever.
And then the CM didn't even say thanks for being considerate of others even though it wasted a half hour of my life while the kids tore apart the house again.

Of course I haven't been able to get the ADRs I really want, so I'm not sure if I really should cancel or change our park plans instead.

If you do have to call to change a reservation, just say "agent" to bypass all those questions.

I just wanted to encourage everyone to keep trying.
I've been trying to get a Sci Fi ADR for my party of 10 on June 12th for a long time with no luck, even when splitting my party.
But finally, today, I was able to get a 3:40 for 6 and a 3:45 for 4.
So things do open up sometimes.

every time I try to cancel reservations online it says there is an error and that it can't be canceled. Does anyone have any tips for this?
