So I took a photo of a bunch of family members at thanksgiving. The one picture came out great except for a tia's face. I have another picture that looks good but the head is larger. How do I shrink the head to fit on the new picture. Im using GIMP.

It takes a little practice to do what you want, especially with GIMP. I have used GIMP before, its very powerful, just not that intuitive in its use. One way would be to place the correct picture as the background layer, then open the pic with the head you want. Select it, then go back to the first picture and add the selection as a new layer. You should be able to scale the selection as it is pasted in and move it around to the correct body. Flatten the layers when you are happy with the positioning, then save it as different pic, never overwrite the originals.

It also depends on how off the colors are between the 2 shots. If the colors are off then the whole thing looks terrible. I end up doing this stuff quite often in order to get the best shot of DD along with myself and DW. I always have DW preview the end result before it gets set off to print.
