I abut conservation land, and I share my yard with wildlife. Squirrels eat my peaches, woodchucks devour my plants, raccoons eat my corn, Herons eat my goldfish, deer strip the bark of my trees, hawks terrorize my birds, foxes kill my chipmunks, and skunk dig up my bulbs. I can live with all this, I love nature and I understand critters have to eat too and its part of life when you border conservation land.

Today is the last straw. I refuse to share my fish pond with a snake. I have no idea what kind of snake is in there, all I know is I have to clean it and I be damned if I putting my feet in water that has a snake. DH is getting a note to find that snake and remove it from my property NOW!

Oh Mamu...hop in your car and come for a visit until the snake is gone. We can sit on the porch and drink lemonade.

EEEEEK! Sounds like you need to call Steve Irwin - he'd catch the snake, make friends with it, and then release it far from your house! :)

Good luck getting it relocated (hopefully not killed!) I know snakes give some people the creeps, but they are really lovely creatures.

Did DH get the message Mamu? :)

...never mind Steve Irwin TigH, this sounds like a job for Shep!! :) ;) :p

On the way to work one morning
down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman
saw a poor half-frozen snake

His pretty colored skin
had been all frosted with the dew
"Oh well" she cried, "I'll take you in
and I'll take care of you."

Take me in tender woman
Take me in for heaven's sake
Take me in tender woman
SSSiiiiggghhhed the SSSSSnake.....

As usual he laughed. His reply " it's only a baby, and it's dry and he's only looking for water" claims he never saw him, how does he know the size then.

All I can say is no feet is not staying in my fish pond. Trying to net him (her please don't let it be a female with babiies)is impossible because of all the plants. I or someone needs to get in the pond (it's not going to be me) At least I hope not.

I thinking with waders and rubber gloves I may be able to do this.

With the hurricane type winds yesterday my yard is a mess. The fish pond is full of leaves, twigs and everything else that got caught in it's path. Plus lots of the plants have been tipped over

There's no getting away from it, I need to clean it out. I'm sitting here cowering thinking of how I'm going to do this. Why is this snake bothering me, I usually have no fear of them, but this snake has brought me to knees with fear.

It's a little chilly out there right now. I think I need to wait until it warms up. Mabe by then I'll have mustered up enough courage. I'll think about it later.
