I have been looking at cameras all night and I have to say I'm only more confused than when I started...:lmao:

I am wanting to purchase a new camera because frankly my Kodak easyshare has seen better days. I am looking for something that takes decent photos in low light situations, but also in action shots, is easy to use, and has some automatic features because frankly I'm not real interested in all the details of photography. Of course, I'd like a crisp picture. I'm hoping to stay below the $400 dollar range.

I have been looking at the Canon D10 because I like the waterproof aspect of it and it would work great on our upcoming cruise.

Also looking at a Canon S95, but I'm not too sure about the no flash thing on it.

Another camera I've eyed is the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010. Again like the waterproof feature, but I've read that it takes blurry photos.

So frankly what are all of your recommendations? :surfweb:

On the Canon S95, what no flash thing? It does have one. I was actually looking at this one the other day as a gift for a family member. I didn't go for it though because it only shoots 780P video, and HD video is something the person I'm buying for wants so I'm looking for 1080P.

The easiest way I've found to narrow down cameras is to make a list of the features that are most important to you. Then look at your budget and what cameras will meet that and have the features you want. Then go to the store so you can get a hands on as far as size and weight goes. I tend to lean toward Fuji or Canon for point and shoots in general.

Hmmm, It appeared when i looked at it doesn't have a flash that pops up. In some of the reviews people wrote about it said there wasn't one. I'll have to look at it again.

Edit: I looked and there is one..I stand corrected. Thanks again!

I have the D10 and Olympus 1030SW, both water proof. You don't want the D10 for everyday use, it sucks IMHO. And the 1030SW has an extended warrantee I will definately have to use. both are great cameras for their use, but not as good as regular digital cameras.

The S95 is an excellent choice. It has a fast lense making it work well in low light...
